PSA table name different in tiers

We have the usual DEV, QA, and PRD tiers for our BI system landscape.  I had to write an update routine for data source 0PM_OM_OPA_1 that references the PSA table used by 0PM_OM_OPA_1.  I got the table name by looking it up in table RSTSODS.  In the BI DEV system, the PSA is named 0PM_OM_OPA_1_BB and the actual table name is /BIC/B00001765000.  
The update rule doesn't activate in the QA system when transported.  I find that in the QA system, the PSA is named 0PM_OM_OPA_1_BA and the actual table name is /BIC/B0000870000.  These are also the names used in the BI PRD system.
Any ideas of why these names would be different?  In each of the systems, 0PM_OM_OPA_1 is a 3.x datasource.  I haven't migrated it.  What does BA and BB signify?
What permissions would it take for me to edit the update routine in the QA or PRD tier?

Hi Dave,
The PSA table is a client specific table.
So this is different in the landscape and hence the cause for the problem.
This table is generated when the transfer structure gets activated in the relevant server.
Try checking the option of mentioning the PSA table name in the respective servers in routine.
With this option we may be required to change the table name each time, we have a change in transfer structure.

    I have been trying to delete the data from the PSA tables using the process type <b>Deletion of Request from PSA</b> and the Object type <b>PSA TABLE</b>.
    When searching for the PSA table name in the <b>Object Name</b> list, I am not able to get one of the PSA table names (/BIC/B0000505). Though I am able to get all the other table names in the list. (Ex. /BIC/B0000504 , /BIC/B0000506) .
    Please let me know the possible reason for this and how to rectify the same so as to include that PSA table name

    The table is present in the system (SE11/SE16) and contains data as well.
    The problem is, I am able to find the other tables from the same datasource in the list, but am not able to find this only PSA Table in the list.
    Has it got anything to do with corrupted PSA table and need to re-tranport the Datasource ??

    Double click on the PSA and CTRLSHIFTF5 --->in PSA properties -->PSA table ..u can find the name here ....
    B)as well as i need to check whether any historical data loads is there for psa for a particular period?
    usually as SAP best practise we will not keep data in PSA for not more than 30 days or at the amx 60 days..you may not find historical data here..however to find the oldest data -->Right Click >Manage>Give some old date ,say 01.01.2005 in the Request newer than ...and Refresh.....
    Other way is to find out in the Data provider i.e in the Cube or DSO ...
    How to filter for a particular data in the psa in bi 7?
    a)Do not map it
    b)in the DTP...Filter it ....i.e from PSA -->CUBE/DSO....
    c)Or write a routine also in start routine ...

  • Delete PSA requests; no table name

    Hi,
    I have to delete a lot of requests from PSA; I do this via a little process chain. Therefore I need to know the PSA table.
    So I go to my DataSource -> Manage and see in the upcoming dialog window on top the name of the PSA table.
    Unfortunately at some DataSources no table name is being displayed.
    How can I find the table name, how can I delete quickly all the many requests?

    Hi,
    You can find PSA table name by Data Source (not by InfoProvider) with SE16. See Table RSTSODS in field specify DS tech name (with * at the end, eg: 2LIS_11_VAITM*): in field ODSNAME_TECH you will find tech name of PSA table.

  • How to delete the OLD PSA table altogether?

    Hi,
       I am in BI for NW04S and CRM4.0 sp6.0.
       I created a custom data source in the source system and replicated and used transfer rule/Update rule to load an Data store object in the BI system.
       However today , I needed to change some fields of the same data source, and replicated and regenerated the transfer rule, Update rule etc.
       Checked the RSA3 in the source system and the data source is working fine.
        However When I look into the PSA after an attempted data load, I still fine the old PSA table (/BIC/B0000893000) getting populated and not the new one ( /BIC/B0000893001).
      when I look into the show data flow on the ODS i can see the PSA table name, and when I serached in SE11 for that table name I have found both these new and old table.
      Although the data source is replicated in to BW system properly for some reason the OLD PSA table is still being used.
      How can I correct the situation?

    Dear Arun,
    Please check in the table (SE16) RSTSODS.
    This table stores the PSA information for all the datasouces.
    Enter the datasource in question followed by * in the field 'ODSNAME' (for eg. 2LIS_02_SCL*).
    This will show you all PSA tables for that Datasource.
    The fields DATETO and DATEFROM will tell you, which PSA table is currently in use.
    By the way, a new PSA table should be generated only if there is a change in Transfer Structure.

    You can get the PSA technical name from the data source.
    Double click on data source --> from menu bar --> goto -> Technical Attributes
    Here you can find the PSA table name.
    or you can fine the PSA Table name from the below table.
    RSTSODS - Operational Data Store for the trans
    here the entry in the filed -ODSNAME_TECH while provide you the tehcnical name of the PSA table.

  • Strange Issue in PSA Table

    I have deleted all the requests in PSA, but still when I check in SE11 tcode for the same PSA table, it is showing entries.
    This seems strange and I faced this situation for the first time.
    P.S. There are no requests in PSA currently.

    Its not strange issue.You may deleted the latest request only.
    While deleting request at PSA, you need to click on display all request. it will shows all existing request at psa. later you can delete them all.
    in general at PSA it shows week older requests.
    Other wise, Use PSA table name and delete whole data by using SE14.
    Later you can check at SE11.

    As suggested enter the values in ODSNAME_TECH filed of table RSTSODS in SE16.
    From which you will find PSA table name in ODSNAME field which will guids you to see Info Source then the related cube.

    hi Tin,
    in your case, you can edit the psa request by go to monitor of that request, and there is button 'psa'.
    click it and choose package (if more than 1).
    to check all psa request, rsa1->psa->locate your infosource/datasource and expand.
    to find psa table name, you can try right click your infosource and 'show data flow', and set technical name on,
    in data flow screen, you will find /bic/b000xxx table,
    that's the psa table.

  • PSA records count different than physically....

    I'm going through a strange problem.  When looking at my PSA, I only have 1 request (Yes, I've changed the date to make sure I'm looking at everything before you ask ).  However, when loading my InfoCube from PSA, I see 84 Millions records read from PSA and 3 Millions output.  This 3 millions correspond to my only PSA request so that make sense.  However, the loading process is getting longet and longer because of this 84 Millions that seems to increase everyday.
    After some research, when looking at tabe RSTSODSPART for my PSA entry in T-Code SE16, I see 27 entries of +- 3 Millions records which explains my 84 Millions.  So from my understanding even though my process chain is deleting PSA data (which works fine because I only have one entry in the PSA Manage screen), physically it's not doing the trick at all...
    By the way, I'm using BW 7.0 SP16
    Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

    Can you please get the PSA table names from your process chain and check in DB02 for how much data is there in those PSA tables?
    This way you can find out if the PSA table is being cleared off or not.

    Actually we are planning to delete the PSA data, for some of the PSA tables already created the process chains for clean up. for some off the tables we are developing new process chains. Now we I got the PSA Table name(/BIC/B00*) list from production. Now I want to know weather this PSA Table already exists in any of the process chain or not. Checking of the each PSA Table with all the process chains is taking much time, can I have any better option to find the process chains conatsins PSA table or not.

  • Errors when browsing same table name in a different schema.

    I have two separate schema in a database and each has a table with the same name but different columns. I used the GUI to change the column order while looking at the data on one table. Now I can't see data in the other table and I get the error message ORA-00904: "DAY_DT": invalid identifier. I have tried to clear the persisted settings on both tables and I have disconnected and logged out SQLDeveloper and the problem still persists. How can I fix this.

    I had another user try to look at data in the table from his account on his PC and he saw the same error. So I looked a little deeper. The situation seems to be this
    user_a creates a table and a public synonym of the same name. user_a grants select on the table to user_c
    user_b creates a table using the same name as user_a's table with different columns. user_b grants select on the table to user_c
    user_c can use the GUI to see the the data in user_a's table.
    user_c cannot use the GUI to see user_b's table data. The GUI returns an error ORA-00904: "XXX": invalid identifier where XXX is a column on user_a's table.

    No. It would be very confusing to do so. Can they not share an
    inheritance hierarchy? You can use flat mapping to do so.

    Well, its not possible.You can import those two tables in some test database, rename them and then take the export and import in the database you want.
    Or,
    You can import those 2 tables in some other schema in your database, rename them again take the export and them import it.
