PSE 6 and Pro Show Gold

I am using PSE6 to catalogue my pictures. How can I transfer the pictures from the organizer to Pro Show Gold which I prefer to use as my slide show software?
I have tried dragging and dropping, selecting all , click on copy in PSE6 and then click on paste in Pro show Gold, none of these approaches work, am I missing something?

Ken, When I right click PSG is NOT an option, it does show PSE but PSG. I can drag and drop within PSG but they are not in the same order as I have them is PSE. I guess I thought the benefit of using PSE as my organizer was that I could get and keep them in an order that I wanted.
When I transfer them from PSE to the desktop it reorders them. I guess I will either have to do extra work is wanting to use PSG or use the less robust Elements and Premiere slideshow programs.
One of the features that I like about PSG is that you can use your windows file name as a caption, there is no provision for that in Elements or Premiere which means that I have to retype all the file names as captions in Elements if I want them to appear in the slide show.
Yikes, I have over 8000 images with more to come

I am VERY disapointed with the quality of a finished DVD. As a proffesional weddig photographer the program quality is just not proffesional in quality. Compared to Pro Show Gold by Photodex which unfortunately is not available in MAC format. Can anyone offer advice and proove me wrong for deciding on MAC over PC !

Their website talks about some sort of plug-in that you can get : http://www.photodex.com/products/plugins/device - persumably (and I'm guessing) it converts the output into something that is compatible and can be synced to the iPad's Videos app

Problems with burning a copy of a dvd pro show gold

I made a slide show dvd and I can't figure out how to make a copy so that my dvd player will work.. I get it burned but my dvd player says it cannot play it.

I used the cd/dvd header for burning.. it does not work.

How good is Elements 10 in making slideshows compared to, say, Pro Show Gold?

I have Photoshop CS4 and Premiere CS3 for photo and video creation, but was looking for a really good slide show program. Any thoughts? Someone recommended Elements 10. But internet sites don't even list it in their top 10.

No contest. Proshow will win hands down.
It provides a complete start to finish solution in one package without having to dip into Premiere Elements, which I find buggy and not overly intuitive. Premiere is more intended for video editing.
Proshow is far more feature rich and very easy to use.
Why not download the free trial and see for your self?

I am on Windows 7, and I was on Adobe.com. I went to downloads and clicked on Acrobat XI standard. It downloaded. But when I went to run it said Acrobat XI Pro and would not accept my serial number. I have been updating my PSE since 10. Recently I purchased PSE13 as I didn't see an update for my 12. I was changing to a new laptop as my old laptop had been patched and worked and was showing signs of giving out. It was a Window's 7OS. My new one is a Windows 8 OS so I bought the 13 and downloaded it on the new laptop. Our desktop had died so I downloaded the 13 on the new desk computer also. Not thinking I downloaded 13 on my old laptop as I hope to get it patched up enough to be a backup for my photography. When I tried to activate it I realized that I had downloaded it too often. I didn't know you could only use it on two computers. Learn something new every day.. Any way I removed it and now my PSE 12 does not seem to be working. Now it could be something that I did or something that is an issue with the laptop. this laptop has all the previous editions on board as I always tried to update, except for the year I got a really good deal on Black Friday. I also notice that the new laptop has a copy of PSE 12 in the program list. To my knowledge I have never deactivated any of my PSE's except the extra 13 downloaded. Bottom line, do I need to go in and deactivate previous PSE versions and removed them from my computer? I could certainly use the space and secondly, can I deactivate the PSE 12 and then go back and reacitivate it and install it again on the old laptop or the desktop, whichever I deside would be the most appropriate place for the newer program. For the PSE 12 since it is an updater for 11, does the 11 still need to be on the laptop? thanks for anyone who can understand what I am trying to say and can advise me as to my next move. I moved my entire iPhoto Library to an external hard drive, which seems to have worked. But now my Mac Pro shows a backup of the same size in the storage info and has not freed up any space. help!

I moved my entire Iphoto Library from my Macbook Pro to an external hard drive. (Prior to this, I also copied the entire library to a different ehd, plus I have 2 other ehdrives with backups). I was trying to get more space on my hd. It has a capacity of 500GB, but was down to 70GB usable, with about 300GB used up by photos. I moved the library by going to Finder, using Command+Drag+Drop onto the new Seagate ext hard drive icon. The move seems to have worked, as the library shows up on the ehd, plus will open from there. My problem is that now my Macbook Pro shows that I STILL have only 70GB available out of the 500, and that 300GB is used up by "Backups", which it did not indicate before.
I cannot find this 300GB "Backup" in the Finder, only in the Storage info when I check "About This Mac".
I have restarted my computer, but the information remains the same. How do I reclaim the use of the 300GB? Why is it showing up as "Backups" when it used to indicate "Photos"? Are my photos safe on the external drive?

You are probably using Time Machine to backup your MacBook Pro, right? Then the additional 300 GB could be local Time Machine snapshots. Time Machine will write the hourly backups to the free space on your hard disk, if the backup drive is temporarily not connected. You do not see these local backups in the Finder, and MacOS will delete them, when you make a regular backup to Time Machine, or when you need the space for other data.

You have tested the library on the external drive, and so your photos are save there.
The local TimeMachine snapshot probably now contains a backup of the moved library. Try, if connecting your Time Machine drive will reduce the size of your local Time Machine snapshots.

Ah yes school boy error there out of frustration and discontent..
My issue is with music/apps/films etc not downloading from iTunes / App Store.
They initially fail and message is displayed stating unable to download / purchase at this time, yet if I retry it says I've already purchased (?) or alternatively I go to the purchased section and there they are waiting with the cloud symbol..
However some items get frozen in the download window and cannot be retried or deleted. Message appears stating to tap to retry, but even if you stole every bath and sink in the uk you'd still not have enough taps.
I post here as the iTunes guys are useless in there 'help' and have only advised posting here or phoning apple, at my expense, to explain a problem that could be rectified by forwarding my original email to a techie. However the tech team apparently don't have an email address as they're from ye olde Middle Ages..!
Anyways I digress.
So I tried sync to pc, but instead of showing the file as ready to listen/use/view, the iCloud symbol shows and I'm back to square one as the item is unable to download..
At frustration station waiting for a train from pain...
All my software is up to date, and had all worked fine prior to the last big iOS update that resulted in all the changes in display and dismay.

I think that your Mac detects your hard disk, but the problem is that your new hard disk doesn't contain any operating system, so your Mac doesn't find any bootable partition and you see a question mark.
If your Mac came with DVDs, insert the Mac OS X Install DVD and hold the C key while your Mac is starting. Then, just install Mac OS X. If the hard disk isn't prepared to install Mac OS X, you will have to erase it using "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)". See > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU1.html

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.

From the message you are receiving, it sounds like you either, 1) haven't synced your iPhone with that computer before, 2) are using two different iTunes accounts, or 3) both. If you have purchased music or movies through your iPhone with a certain iTunes account and purchased books through iBooks on your MacBook through a different iTunes account then there is no having both on the phone.
Apple doesn't allow content from two different accounts on a device at the same time. Also if two "libraries" have been created, one on the iPhone and one on the Macbook then syncing will erase data that is not associated with that particular library.
If you are using the same iTunes account for both, then you should be able to redownload any purchased items (music, books, etc.) from iCloud, assuming you have set that up.
