PSE 8 – Win7 compatible?

Is PSE 8 supposed to be Win7 compatible? I know that Win7 isn’t out yet but from my test system PSE8 and PRE8 are not very stable. At all. I would have a hard time believing that Adobe would release a new app a month before a new OS is to be released and it is not compatible.

At this point, many people have reported that PSE 8 runs fine for them on Windows 7. It could well be that you're encountering some of the many issues with PSE that are independent of the Windows version. For example, PSE 8's Auto-Analyzer and face recognition have caused regular crashes for a number of people. See this FAQ for a complete list of troubleshooting steps:

Pse 8 should work on mac os x 10.10.3 Yosemite.
Anyway, pse 8 seems to work okay here on Yosemite.
Do you already have mac os x and are planning on upgrading your existing os x to Yosemite or is this a new mac with Yosemite already installed?

Making a Flash Drive or CD Bootloader That's Snow and Win7 Compatible?

Hi. How do you make a flash drive or CD/DVD bootloader that is compatible for Snow Leopard and Windows 7 (both 64-bit but 32-bit is ok too)? I don't want to install the bootloader into any of the hard drives of either Snow nor Win7. It's a safer choice to have a portable bootloader in the flash drive in my situation. I'll be using a Mac (preferred) to make it although I have a PC as well. Thanks in advance.

It sounds like at least in part you want to use Windows or OS X in an unlicensed (illegal) manner. Please refer to the Terms of Use regarding why you will not get any help with that in Discussions (or if you do it will immediately be deleted).
Apart from that, consider that:
• Whether it is Windows 7 or OS X that you want to load, you need to install it on the boot drive using an appropriate installer. Just "seeing" the OS won't allow you to do this.
• Basic hardware driver support must be present in the files that the boot loader can access without the help of any OS.
• Macs use the EFI boot method. Study that if you want to learn what you can & can't do with the boot loader.

PSE 5 and Snow Leopard?

Is PSE 5 compatible with Snow Leopard?

No pse 5 is windows only, there was no pse 5 for macs.
I believe there was versions 1,2,3, 4 (an 4.01 update added a few features to the mac version) 6,8,9,10 and 11 for mac os
Of the above versions 6,8,9,10 and 11 should work on snow leopard.

Is the Intel I340-T4 Ethernet card compatible with LabView 8.6?

We are currently looking in to having our LabView program process the output of two Allied Vision cameras, run through a PCI GigE card.
On our old machine (32-bit Vista), we have a PRO/1000 PT Quad working just fine with the LabView interface - and we want to upgrade to a better PC with 64-bit Win 7.
We are under the impression that PRO/1000 PT is not compatible with Win 7, and were looking into either I340 quad-port adapters:

Scott here from AVT technical support. You are correct re. that PT card not being Win7 compatible. Here's a link to our current recommendations for NICs and switches.

If it's NOT in that list, it doesn't mean it won't work, merely that we haven't tested it and do not know. We do not attempt to test every 3rd party product on the market.
And our testing is typical with AVT SDKs not with Labview, though there are thousands of joint AVT / NI customers, and we'd have heard by now if there were any conflicts, I am confident.

Will my Epson R800 print PSE 8 photos?

I have a new Dell Studio XLS with a new Dell 21.5" monitor. Dell installed my epson R800 and downloaded the correct drivers for Windows7, 64 bit. After editing my photos in PSE, I have tried everything to print an acceptable photo from PSE 8 to the Epson R800. I have always used Photoshop and my last edition was CS3 but it will not run on this computer. I have set everything in PSE and set R800 to use PSE profiles but nothing works. Is PSE 8 compatible with Epson R800 or do I not need a new printer?

Colin, thank you very much for your reply. I am getting closer but still have a way to go. I plan to purchase a Spyder Express 3 tomorrow locally. It is the least expensive and I hope it will work.
As an experiment today, I placed DVD image of a photo corrected in PS CS3 about 2 years ago. The image looked just great on my new monitor. It had adobe ps 1998 profile. I set the Epson R800 to use the same profile, set the paper as Epson Premium Luster (all I had) and also set to ICM. Results were a little better but still too dark. I did not alter the monitor appearance of this file since it was saved to DVD in 2006. So it should have printed as it did originally with the same R800 printer and no change to the original file.
I hope the Spyder works. I hope Spyder Express 3 that is the least expensive at $89 is of good enough quality to preform properly.
This is the reason I detest changing computers and printers once I finally get both setup. I will try on my Epson 3800 when I receive a new ink cartridge in a few days. Both my Dell Laptop and dimensions 8200 desktop got virusus and the repair personel told me to get a new computer. So here I am with a new Dell Studio XLS 8300, and an Epson R800 and no prints worth saving.

The card is very very old, even though I loved mine when I first got it. The headache and workarounds that you would have to use in order for that card to simply function are not worth your time.
I am not here to market, but in the last month I have been switching between my Dell OEM xtreme Music, my X-FI Titanium and my Fatality Gamer Pro Platinum. The last two are great cards and have worked for me at least, flawlessly in Vista and Windows 7. I admittedly use the Daniel K. 2.0 pack as a base for my software install of all three, but that coupled with the newest Creative issued driver have worked beatifully.
I picked up my Titanium off Ebay for $40.00. I bought my Dell OEM card for $30.00. I bought the I/O bay for the X-FI Fatality for $25. So your options are very open. That old li've will not accelerate sound well at all for Direct X based games, and you will be very disappointed. Again, all this is opinion, but I have been switching intensely between the above cards lately, and they are worth it. I do not have digital speakers, like the Logitech z-5500's. But my four year old pair of Logitech z-640's sound fantastic. I tried even with my onboard sound just for giggles. It was just that:? giggles.

Catch 22 after Win7 upgrade from Vista (no way to install Boot Camp)

I've seen other posts about this but no answers, so I'll keep this
I had Vista Home Premium running in a Boot Camp partition on my black MB 2.0GHz with Snow Leopard, although I only used Fusion and not Boot Camp for Windows. (The Boot Camp partition dated back to the program's beta, which I ran on Tiger. I skipped Leopard.) I replaced the hard drive with a larger model -- thank you CCC and WinClone --, upgraded to Win7 Home Premium and thought I'd try getting Boot Camp running.
The Snow Leopard install DVD has a Boot Camp 3.0 installer that refuses to run on Win 7. (The error message that I get is, "Boot Camp requires that your computer is running Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Windows Vista.") And the Boot Camp 3.1 Updater is, well, an updater that wants to see Boot Camp 3.0. Doesn't seem to be any way forward!
I've seen it recommended to try a Boot Camp 2.1 installer (seems like a long shot, but has anyone tried it?) or to run the Boot Camp 3.0 installer in Vista compatibility mode (reported not to work).
It doesn't feel worth it to re-image the MacBook's Boot Camp partition to Vista using my WinClone backup, then install Boot Camp 3.0, then do the Win 7 upgrade again, and then run the Boot Camp 3.1 updater. Not when Fusion is so good. It took me several iterations of the restore-and-upgrade business with Boot Camp Assistant and WinClone to get to this point and I'm not eager to repeat it. It's not hard, just tedious. It does seem likely that that upgrade path would work, however. Practic makes perfect.
Thoughts?

And just one more thing... I'm remembering now that when I started up the Win7 install, I got a warning that Boot Camp wouldn't work after the upgrade. I don't know which version that would have been. I went ahead with the upgrade anyway. Knowing now how that worked out, I can see that I probably zigged where I should have zagged. But I remember thinking at the time that my options were to cancel the upgrade, uninstall Boot Camp and then try the upgrade again. It didn't occur to me to upgrade to the 3.1 version of Boot Camp because I thought that was the Win7 compatible version, and I was still on Vista at that point.
Maybe all this verbiage will help someone else avoid this situation!

Creative Console Launcher XFi for Win7

Does anybody have a clue as to if/when creative labs will release Win7 compatible Creative Console Launcher Programs for the X-Fi Cards?

KokChoy has responded so I wanted you to know that I am using the latest console launcher download for the card and it has worked in Windows 7 very very well. If you are wanting a "Certified" one, you are wasting your time as 2.62.00 works with no compatibility issues for me.

ESATA over Expresscard W500/Win7 64Bit problem

I am using a W500-4061AK3 with Windows 7 (64bit) and am not able to get my external harddisk running over an eSATA expansioncard (Trust IF-3800p) in the Expresscard slot, although the whole is perfectly working under Ubuntu 9.1. This is already the second card I try, same issue with the DeLock 61748 (Silicon Image 3531 Chipset) ... I have installed all updates via ThinVantage System-Update and all Win7 Updates from Microsoft. I don't know whether there is maybe a driver missing for the W500 Expresscard-slot for Win7 64bit? The eSATA expansion cards are both listed as Win7 compatible. Has anybody successfully used the W500 with an eSATA Expresscard under Win7 64bit? Thanks for your help.

T500 Win7 install gone haywire!

I did a Win7 32-bit Ultimate OS install from OEM disk on my T500 2081 CTO today (was advised to do this as being safer and less troublesome than Win7 upgrade) - but all the information was just archived as a windows.old folder on the C: drive - some 30Gb - (not sure if Vista OS is there too, I didnt go through all the subfolders) and also the original hd partition is still there from the Lenovo factory Vista OS install;
SW_Preload C:, Lenovo Q: SERVICE003 S: partitions, the latter two still seem to contain what they had before the Win7 OS install.
I recognize some software on the Q: drive as certain preinstalled programmes, but most of it is gibberish to a neophyte like me. Have no clue what the S: drive is all about. I didnt reformat the HD before doing the Win7 install, I was informed Win7 would do that itself during the install.
Do I reformat to clean the HD and start over with the Win7 install? How do I that?
Next; Do I need to partition the HD during Win7 install to prepare for a reinstall of all the updated Win7 compatible Lenovo software? If so, how do I do that?
Is ThinkVantage 4.0 the first Lenovo-specific software to be installed after Win7?
Will TV 4.0 recognize and download all the additional Win7-compatible Lenovo-specific software I need for my model or do I need to do separate installs of all these afterwards?

Well, I'd think that a NEW MacBook wouldn't need a firmware update, but if it does...
check here for info about firmware updates: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303364
Also, make sure you run a Software Update (from the apple menu). If you're lucky any needed updates will come from that, but i DO remember installing firmware updates on my iMac and Macbook Pro that I had to download manually. If necessary, you can go here http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/ and do a search for "macbook firmware".
Just make sure you download Macbook updates and not Macbook Pro updates.
The firmware update itself should tell you if you actually need it when you try to open it. For example, if I open up "iMac EFI Firmware Update 1.1" on my iMac, I get the message "Your computer's firmware is up-to date...."

I'm trying to install the "SAP NetWeaver 7.01 SR1 ABAP Trial Version" and during the phase2 I have the same error...
1st question: does this installation is win7 compatible?
If yes: can someone know a real solution to resolve this problem?
My system config:
Win7 (64bits) + java j2re1.4.2_07
These Java version are already installed:
- java 6 update 14 (64bits)
- java 6 update 17
Maybe the problem could come from these version 6 of Java because I saw that this SAP install is not compatible with 1.4.5 higher java version ?

Photosmart 2575 - not printing text

Hi, I have just4 inherited a Photosmart 2575 dating back from 2006. I loaded the Drivers from the installation disc only to learn that they were not Win7 compatible so got the compatible ones online and followed the installation as indicated. I need to print a text document and nothing comes out. However, if I print the test page for alignment of the printer head as well as the head cleaning page .... it prints perfectly ( minus the text ). It prints a scanned document perfectly also. However, any WORD document comes out blank. WHY ? I would be extremely grateful if someone could help me please. ....

Try the troubleshooting steps in this document. Does the test page print properly? If so there is an issue with the driver settings. If the test page does not print black I would suggest removing the black cartridge and soaking it nozzles down for five minutes in hot water, then blotting the printhead gently with a damp tissue.

Apple LaserWriter 16/600 PS with Win 7 (64bit): Looking for driver software

Hello,
can anybody tell me where to find the driver software for the Apple LaserWriter 16/600 PS connected to my Windows PC running Windows 7 (64Bit). With Win XP there was no problem at all, the printer got connected via plug and play, whereas with Win 7 I can't get it to work.
If there is no original WIN7 compatible driver version available, is there any other printer driver that could be used instead.
Any help is very much appreciated.
