PSE 9 Activation Limit reached

Purchased PSE 9 via ebay. Arrived OK complete package. Installed with no problems, but today it came up with "Activation Limit reached".
Talked to seller and he has deinstalled (but probably not deactivated) the software. Any ideas or help appreciated. Thanks

Again thankyou, I had already sussed that it had been installed on two seperate machines. However the seller is far less aware than I am about how this works. Having said that (and having read the Adobe doc) it also appears that I have no idea either. If there is no easy way to resolve this the seller will be having to refund me anyway. I always thought the IBM AS400 licenses to be overly complicated but Adobe has taken it a new level. Back tp PSE 2 for me I think.
Just to complicate matters, when I first loaded the software I actually registered the software in my name with no problems at all.........
Thanks again

  • Activation limit reached on FM10 with new computer hardware, unable to contact Adobe to resolve.

    Installed new motherboard in computer and now FM10 says it needs to reactivate but has reached its activation limit. Had this problem once before a couple years ago and there was a phone number to call at Adobe to resolve the issue. The new Adobe web support system won't even get to a contact-us page, it keeps recycling back to "select your product" page.  Need adobe phone number to get my copy of Framemaker 10 to reactivate.

  • "Activation Limit Reached" - I Have Since Retired and Computer No Longer Available

    I previously purchased CS3 Design Premium and installed on computers where I worked. I've since retired and left the company, but before leaving I uninstalled all software that I had personally purchased (unfortunately, without deactivation). It has been several years, and those computers are no longer in service. I recently have a need to use the CS3 package, but cannot proceed because my activation code indicates that I've reached the limit of installations authorized. Is there anything that can be done to help me?

    If you contact Adobe Support by chat or phone they can take care of the deactivations for you as long as you can prove you own the license.

  • Photoshop Elements 9 - Activation limit reached, but other computer burnt up

    My last laptop burst into flames, and therefore I cannot "deactivate" that license. I installed Adobe on my new computer, but it just gives me the message that I have to deactivate another license.  The computer that burnt up was the only license I ever activated.  I still have the original disks, but I cannot use the program that I bought and paid for.  Certainly there must be some way to notify Adobe that the other computer can never run the program again, and get access to my program.  I cannot be the only person who ever had a computer stop working without first being able to deactivate a license.

    Go to this link and follow the online instructions:
    <http://helpx.adobe.com/uk/contact.html>
    You need to select your product and choose to open a chat line with Adobe Staff.  We can't help you with activation and de-activation on a dead machine.

  • New computer - activation limit reached for Photoshop Elements 10

    I purchased a new PC with Windows 7.  I had the C drive in the old computer installed into the new computer as a D drive. Photoshop Elements had been installed on the old C drive. I then installed Photoshop Elements on the C drive in the new computer. I'm now receiving an Adobe Activation screen that states "This serial number has already been activated on two computers. You must correct this problem to continue. To correct and successfully activate this product you must deactivate one of the other activated copies." Instructions for deactivation state the it's an option located under the Help tab. Unfortunately in both versions of PS 10 running on this computer the "Deactivate" option is grayed out.
    Now what? Should I uninstall the version on my C drive, and will this fix the problem?

    You need to contact support directly for activation/deactivation and other installation issues. It’s usually possible to start a live chat, if an Adobe agent is free, and often to get the problem fixed right away. You will need your serial number.

  • When copying a  bought book an error message occured as "activation limit reached" That is definitely wrong. What is to do that Adobe solves their problem?

    Sorry, but I don`t like this sort of no-support of a big company in the form of delegation the work to users.

    Meanwhile I had a chat with Anurag about e_act_too_many_activations (message  ade 4.02) while transferring a bought ebook to an updated ereader  via usb:
    Anurag: For such issue you need to contact Adobe Forums at forums.adobe.com.
    Anurag: you can also check here for more information
    Anurag: The issue has already been resolved at Forums.
    Anurag: I will Suggest you to refer Adobe Forum for your issue. Our Expert and product specialist team will reply you back via same thread.
    As I see other people have the same or a similiar problem. Just fun.

    You may need the Licensing Service Update or to trash/rename the FLEXnet folder.

  • Trying to change computers, says I have reached activation limit

    I'm tying to reinstall Creative Suite CS5 on new computer, but it says I have too many installs. I have deactivated one install, it is definitely deactivated, but the activation window on the new laptop still says I have reached the activation limit.  How do I get Adobe to fix this? DN

    Getting the link to the chat screen is a pain.  You have to ask the right question in the "we need a few details" process.  Choose the option mentioning serial numbers, if you get to that point, and the chat link appears.  My sequence was Creative Suite; Downloading, installing and setting up; Serial numbers and redemption codes (you can edit whatever you entered) then click the "Still need help" link.  That sequence gives me both the forum link and the chatline link. It seems other sequences only give the forum link, which is frustrating.  (I can understand why Adobe does it this way, to avoid very simple questions that the forum is the most efficient way to find the answer.)

    I have lost my harddrive which contains a vast amount of music I've been collecting for many years. I just purchased a new Mac, but I've reached my activation limit. And I only have access to 2 of the 5 activated computers. My old music can still be played on my iPod, but I need to set up another account on my new Mac. What will happen to my music if I were to deactivate all of activated computers?

    Authorization determines to which computers material requiring authorization can be transferrred using the itunes interface.  If you want to re-download past purchases then a computer need to be authorized.
    As for transferring music from the iPod, your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer is designed with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is purchased content.
    iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
    For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

  • Pr CS6 on MacPRO 10.9.4 crashes randomly hang report shows Dispatch Thread Soft Limit Reached: 120

    We have an Edit computer that IT brought back to us with a newly loaded Mavericks 10.9.4. and a fresh installation of CS6. We also have an added AJA LHi card.
    Our editor is getting random crashes often while just searching through his clips. When I look at the diagnostic reports . I consistently see the message - Dispatch Thread Soft Limit Reached:  120  (too many dispatch threads blocked in synchronous operations). I will paste the whole hang report below.
    Any ideas? I have found other threads on the net discussing this but nothing really specific to Adobe or CS6.

    Update - The crashing seems to happen when the editor was going to a folder with lots of files. It seems like it is trying to open every file in a thumbnail preview mode that might be the problem. So I had him open a project with only a few files in a folder and it is stable for now. We are going to try and re-organize this particular project with  lees media in each folder.
    Are there any guidelines of what the max amount of clips in a folder might be? Is there any way adjusting or turning off those thumbnail previews?

  • I just clean installed my computer and after done my Photoshop Elements tells me Activation limit re

    I clean install my computer many times, two times already just this year alone. My copy of Photoshop Elements 10 now tells me my Activation Limit has been reached, but I have only had Photoshop since 05-11-2012. I am always clean installing my computer and many times upgrading the hard drive, why are you only letting me reinstall two times? Do I have to go back to Costco and buy another copy of Photoshop? If so I guess I may be done with all things Adobe. Again, I am always clean installing my hard drive, at least once a year. This year twice so far because I just updated to Windows 8, but now this problem with Activation.

    Thank you so much. I thought I was asking a question to a real person in live chat, like customer service.  I did not know it was going to be read by other people.
    Do you think I will have to buy Photoshop Elements all over again?
    Thanks again,

  • "Subscriptions limit reached for same user" validation error when trying to create a subscription to a product - wha can cause this?

    Hi,
    I've created a third product level called "partner" other than the two that come as standard.
    I'm running through the process of taking an existing user from the starter product to the partner product, and am subscribing the user to partner before removing the starter subscription. There seems no problem with a user having both a starter and unlimited
    subscription, but am getting the following error when subscribing to partner.
    "Subscriptions limit reached for same user"
    This is using a subscriptions put. The same code works fine when upgrading to unlimited.
    What can cause this?
    Andy

    Hi Miao,
    The function to promote someone to partner is:
    public async Task<ActionResult> ToPartner(string id)
    //add partner subscription
    var prodId = await APIMHandler.GetProductIdFromName("Partner");
    var subscriptionId = Guid.NewGuid().ToString();
    //set apim role to partner
    var partnerId = (await APIMHandler.GetGroups()).First(a => a.name == "Partners").id;
    await APIMHandler.AddUserToGroup(id, partnerId);
    if (await APIMHandler.SubscribeToProduct(subscriptionId, id, prodId))
    //disable starter subscription
    await ApimDelegationController.HandleFreeSubscriptionRemoval(id);
    //set local role to partner
    await UserManager.AddToRoleAsync(id, "Partners");
    return RedirectToAction("Index");
    Where subscribetoproduct is:
    public static async Task<bool> SubscribeToProduct(string subscriptionId, string UserId, string productId)
    //The REST API and the delegation are inconsistent in how they represent ids.
    if (!UserId.StartsWith("/users/"))
    UserId = "/users/" + UserId;
    if (!productId.StartsWith("/products/"))
    productId = "/products/" + productId;
    var client = new HttpClient();
    client.DefaultRequestHeaders.TryAddWithoutValidation("Authorization", "SharedAccessSignature " + CalculateAcessToken(ApimIdentifier, ApimPrimaryKey));
    var uri = ApimBaseUrl + "subscriptions/" + subscriptionId.ToString() + "?api-version=" + ApiVersion;
    var response = await client.PutAsJsonAsync(uri, new { userId = UserId, productId = productId, state = "active" });
    if (response.StatusCode == System.Net.HttpStatusCode.Created)
    return true;
    if (response.StatusCode == System.Net.HttpStatusCode.Conflict)
    var error = await response.Content.ReadAsStringAsync();
    return false;
    if (response.StatusCode == System.Net.HttpStatusCode.BadRequest)
    var error = await response.Content.ReadAsStringAsync();
    return false;
    var errorf = await response.Content.ReadAsStringAsync();
    throw new Exception(string.Format("Error in SubscribeToProduct: return status {0}. Content: {1}", response.StatusCode.ToString(), errorf));
    The status code is "BadRequest" and the error provided earler is returned.
    So at this time the user is added to the "partners" group, but I can't subscribe them to the Partner subscription, which is accessible to members of the partner group.

  • Activation limit problem

    I've reached my activation limit for Creative Suite 5 Design Standard.
    The problem being, the computer I need to deactivate is no longer with me - having been traded in.
    How do I deactivate a computer I can't access anymore?
    I had a laptop and desktop computer running CS5 but sold the desktop to upgrade to a new computer. So now I need to deactivate the sold computer to allow things to run on my new computer....how can I resolve this?

    Sorry.  This forum is for Adobe Digital Editions, not CS.
