PTR issues once the IP address range has been delegated to our name servers

In the past, with only a DSL line, our ISP provided our forward and reverse dns entries for our zone and we never had problems with outgoing email. Recently, we've upgraded to a managed T1 line and have decided to run our own name servers on two xserves (one on the T1 subnet and one on a DSL line). Now, many email servers won't accept mail from a mail server without a matching PTR record. We've had our ISP delegate authority of our IP address range to us.
With DNS service on, I've checked that our named.conf file refers to the db.xxx.xxx.xxx file contained in /var/named/ which contains the correct PRT entry: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.in-addr.arpa. IN PTR xserve.example.com.
However, when using an external DNS server a "host name for address" search in Network Utility using the IP address, it only replies with:
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.in-addr.arpa. 166154 IN CNAME 202.192/xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.in-addr.arpa. Which refers to the IP range that our ISP has delegated to us.
When using our xserve as the DNS server, the host name is returned correctly, though.
Any thoughts? I've double checked with our ISP and they say they have delegated the IP address block to us.

We had a similar problem in the past and could not explain why it was not working. The reason simply was that our carrier (the ISP owning the IP addresses) reserved the right to set PTR records only on their systems. Therefore our PTR record was simply ignored.
So I would recommend contacting the support of your ISP/carrier, explaining your issue and let them set up the PTR record on their DNS properly.

    - You can only sync with one computer/iTunes library.  It sounds like you want to switch you syncing computer.
    - To change your syncing computer you have to erase your iPod and restore the iPod.  You can try making a backup of the iPod by right-clicking on the iPod under devices in iTunes and select the backup option.  However, that option may not be available.  If not available, and if you can't get the backup file from the old computer you will have to restore to factory defaults/new computer.
    - If you update as is you iPod will be erases and replaced with what is now in the iTunes libray.  App data will be lost.

    You need to increase the No. of rows in the settings...
    Goto File --> Preferences --> Excel Options  and set the maximun no of rows as per your requirement...

    Check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
    Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.

    Go to VA05, give the date range and execute.  List of sale orders will be generated.  There you can see a tab "Status"  in which, the status would be like
    -  Not delivered
    -  Partially delivered
    So based on this, you can decide whether the order is still open or completed.

    I think you have to go to the java website and down load the version you need and enable it in firefox's prefrences

  • Issue with the IP address assigned on my HP Photosmart Software

    I am having an issue wtih the ip address assigned to the hp all in one printer loaded throgh my software not matching the ip address on my wireless network.
    I can't seem to manually update this configuration.
    Any ideas, other than uninstall and re-installing the device?

    Dear all,
    sorry for opening another thread on this.
    I think I have a performance issue with workflows attached to document sets in SharePoint. And I say “I think” because people keep telling me that this is the way it just is.
    The user creates a new document set, which triggers a workflow in which the user has to confirm/review/approve a series of tasks. The time it takes from clicking the OK button on those task form to the workflow status moving to the next step is about 4 seconds.
    And visiting that status page within those 4 seconds brings up the infamous “Note: Due to heavy load, the latest workflow operation has been queued. It will attempt to resume at a later time.” message.
    Hitting Refresh in the browser after those 4 seconds will make the new workflow status appear and the red text go away.
    Is that normal? Is that the performance that everyone else is seeing as well?
    I struggle to see why simply moving a workflow from one task to another should take that on a machine that isn’t doing anything else at the time.
    (1)   
    I have a standalone (non-clustered) SharePoint box, 4 CPUs, 8 GB of memory, more than half of that available, acting as application server and wfe; only the database is on different box.
    (2)   
    The CPU only goes up to 18 or 19%, so CPU does not seem to be the bottleneck. Half the RAM is also still free.
    (3)   
    The workflow is designed with Nintex, and has about 9 flexi and review tasks – the last 2 of them in a loop iterating over typically 3 or 4 items.
    (4)   
    Looking at the logs it looks like the processing in Nintex only takes about 1 second – I don’t know where the other 3 seconds are going.
    (5)   
    There is nothing obvious in the logs.
    (6)   
    We’ve looked at all the “theoretical” improvements around throttling and batch sizes etc. – none of them appeared make any difference. And the workflow is so small that it looks like my tasks gets executed straight away. The problem appears
    to be that the execution takes too long(?) and therefore has not finished by the time the page get redrawn.
    (7)   
    I am running perfmon and I can e.g. see one(!) workflow being loaded into memory – as expected as I am the only user.
    (8)   
    I am seeing a total of 3(?) SQL queries being executed(?). I get the Bytes Sent/sec spiking at 25K, and Bytes received at 18K. But is this good or bad or a bottleneck?
    Where do I take it from here?
    I have been told that “[…] most customers have no issue with this as they are used to the way SP operates and it can be slow at times.” Is it really that bad?
    If it is worth watching more performance counters then I’d need to know what to compare them to.
    Is there something else I am missing?

    Before considering an additional hardware try to change following configurations for workflow:
    Increase Throttle Size
    Increase Batch Size
    Time Out
    Workflow Timer Interval
    AutoCleanUpDays
    Increase Throttle Size
    The Workflow throttle setting controls how many Workflows can be processing at any one time on the entire server farm. By increasing the throttle it will allow the number of Workflows execution or can be initiated at a time.
    Use below PowerShell command to get the current Throttle Size:
    Get-SPFarmConfig | Select WorkflowPostponeThreshold
    Use below PowerShell command to set new Throttle Size:
    Set-SPFarmConfig -WorkflowPostponeThreshold 100
    Increase Batch Size
    This is the size that determines number of events processed for a single Workflow instance. Default value is 100, but it can be range from 1 to any number.
    Use below PowerShell command to get the current Batch Size:
    Get-SPFarmConfig | Select WorkflowBatchSize
    Use below PowerShell command to set new Batch Size:

    I'm working through SharePoint Workflow issue (developed using Nintex) that started recently where people are getting workflow error and I don't see issues if I submit it myself. Current error. - "Failed to start workflow. The workflow cannot access

    I haven't made any major changes to Workflow except for changing email notification content and publishing it. My question is, do I need to publish the rest of the workflows too that are associated to the list after I publish changes of one workflow? Looks
    like users have required permissions to submit the form. Please let me know how to get rid of this error.

    According to your description, my understanding is that your users got a workflow error, and the workflow is created by Nintex.
    For SharePoint Designer workflow, once we do any change in a workflow, we need to re-publish the workflow.
    For your issue, I suggest you re-publish the workflow, compare the result.
    In addition, as your workflow is created by Nintex and this forum is for SharePoint Designer, I suggest you ask Nintex support or forum for better help.  Thanks for your understanding.

    Additional things to try.
    Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

    Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

    Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

    I have SharePoint 2010 Enterprise running SP1. Configuration is one SharePoint server in the farm and a SQL 2008 R2 database for the backend. Our user environment is 80 users with very little load on the SharePoint server. I have the workflow timer
    set to 1 minute.
    I have a SPD workflow that starts manually on a form library. Whenever I publish a new version of the workflow, the next time I start the workflow it takes the full minute to finish. If I click on the workflow status before it finishes, I see the message
    "Due to heavy load, the latest workflow operation has been queued. It will
    attempt to resume at a later time.". After the minute completes the workflow finishes.
    Here's the weird thing, the next time I start the workflow, it runs in a couple of seconds - almost instantly. I've tried up to 15 times after the inital publishing and everything seems to work fine on initiation.
    Well, that would be fine for me, however, I intermintantly get this heavy load message during task processes that are running inside the workflow. It's probably less than 5% of the time. It's really frustrating though so I appreciate some help. I'm look
    online and haven't found anything that describes my situation.

    Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

    I am getting the below error msg while running payroll for an US employee.

    I am getting this error msg just after USTAX function processing part of UTX0 subschema. I am highlighting below facts & findings for your reference.
    As per a client requirement,  I have configured a new gross up WT (ER benefit contribution) for a benefit plan (IT 0168) and the changes are in QAS system. The changes have to be reflected in period 20/2014 (4th May'14- 10th May'14) with retro effective 01/01/2014 as per the benefit plan record maintained from 01/01/2014.
    This error msg is coming only for few employees. In my example, when I am running payroll in period 20/2014 with forced retro as 01/01/2014, system is giving error in period 14/2014 (23rd Mar'14-29th Mar'14). When I checked the pay result of this employee for period 14/2014, I can see the /101 is in -ve value and there is claim generated for this period. So I think, eventhough, a value of $ 2.53 is getting added as per the IT 0168 record, its not helping to give a +ve gross value and thus tax is not able to recoved on the same.
    I hope you have come across this issue and can help me to assist to resolve the error msg.

    If you have correctly configured payroll the system should automatically off set that and should create wage tyes /561 or /563 in RT.
