Publish Captivate 4 module for Sum total

Hello everyone. I have two training modules that are not scored. They are demonstrations, not simulations. I need to publish them so that they can be added to a customers Sum Total LMS.  What settings should I use when publishing to LMS?  And any tips or tricks I should know?  I do not have access to the LMS.   For our training, we host our own internal web pages.
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for the tips.  I read some of the suggested resources, and created a click box on the last slide with click box settings as:
On Success --> Execute Javascript --> javascript:window.close()
... and Reporting settings as:
Include in Quiz (checked)
Report answers (unchecked)
Points = 1
Add to Total (checked)
The LMS system accurately flags the course complete, but the click action does not close / exit the module.  This is a SCORM 1.2 module.
Any ideas?  Is it possible to test this in HTML outside the LMS system, or am I forced to test this in the LMS system?
Thanks,
Henry

  • Stopping Sum Total completed activity popup

    1st time posting and new user of Adobe Captivate 5. Hoping to find some help.
    Here is my scenario.
    I have a Power Point presentation that I have brought into captivate 5.
    The steps I need to accomplish are
    1) Disable the SumTotal player (done through edit of Manifest.xml file.
    2 Have user page through all slides to end.
    3) Captivate send a completion to LMS
    Here is my problem.  As soon as user enters last slide Sum total pops up the "You have completed the activity. Click OK to close the player." button right in the middle of the slide forcing the user to move it to finish reading the slide and then they would need to click OK to close thus generating a completion status in the LMS.
    My publish settings are
    Quiz enabled
    LMS standard SCORM Template default (have also tried the Captivate 4 template i found)
    Manifest version 1.2
    Mastery Score 100
    Reporting Status Complete/Incomplete
    Report to LMS Percent
    Chose Report Data Slide Views Only Slide Completion 100
    Reporting Level Report Score
    LMS Customerization Settings
    Never Send Resume Data checked.
    I really just need the Sum Total box to appear after the last slide or at least set it so that I can control a set time that it appears.
    Thanks

    Whenever I hear someone having issues getting an LMS to work with Complete/Incomplete, suggest they try using Pass/Fail instead.  Call me cynical, but I've seen so many people have problems with getting it to work reliably that I've grown to be very distrustful of Complete/Incomplete as a solution for LMS tracking.
    Also, try testing what happens if you add a scored button on that last slide which the user must click to indicate they've completed the module.  See if adding such an interactive object to the last slide will delay the appearance of that nuisance Sum Total dialog.
    I wish I could get hold of a trial or developer setup for Sum Total and run it on my development machine.  Too many people report issues with getting Captivate to work reliably in Sum Total, yet Captivate content seems to work fine for most other LMSs.  I find this intriguing.

  • Uploading Linked Captivate 2 Projects into Sum Total LMS

    I've been trying to upload a series of media-rich linked
    projects to our Sum Total LMS. Although there are several projects,
    they are linked to play seamlessly to the end user. The problem is
    when each project is published, it creates its own zip file. In
    order to upload the files to the LMS they must be in one zip file
    or they will upload as separate, independent learning modules. I've
    encountered numerous challenges in attempting the upload.
    Does anyone have any experience/suggestions about:
    - Publishing each project into the same zip file
    - Uploading linked Captivate 2 projects to an LMS, especially
    the Sum Total LMS
    - Uploading a project with flash videos to an LMS
    I greatly appreciate any feedback you can provide.
    Thanks!

    I always link between Captivate files to ensure that my files
    are not too big. I have done this many times; however, I have not
    tried it when there is a quiz involved. What I do is link them
    inside Captivate, publish the files (non-zipped, which you can do
    if there isn't a quiz involved) and then zip them up together with
    Winzip. When you load it into the LMS, you need to choose either
    "Knowledge Document" or "General Document" and there, you can
    choose the launch file (whatever file you want to load
    first.)

  • How to publish Captivate (swf) projects for free

    Hi Cap Users,
    This is not really a question, more of a handy tip.
    When I first started using Captivate I tried to find places where I could publish my projects for free. I've also seen lots of posts by instructional designers and students who want to get their projects 'out there' for little or no cost.
    Here's a short vid that shows you how to publish .swf projects via Weebly.com. You'll need to create a weebly website first. It's all free and the the site builder elements are drag and drop, so you can have a simple site in place within minutes.
    Weebly isn't set up for HTML5 as yet, but I'm sure that won't be far away.
    Click this link to see a demonstration - saving your Cap file, uploading and publishing it.
    Happy publishing!

    Ok, then I Publish the folio in folio producer like Public and Free and that's all, it's ok? Then when I want to sell this folio, back to the folio producer, change to Public and Minorist and in the Android Market build the in-app product, it's ok?
    PD: sorry for my english

  • Best Practice tips for publishing Captivate 8 project?

    Does anyone have any Best Practice Tips for publishing Captivate 8 projects?  Is HTML5/Flash the most universal?
    We will begin testing/training before our LMS is functional.
    We have no shared network capability or SharePoint type platform.  Project is too large for e-mail even when zipped.
    I am thinking that we will have to use thumb drive/CD along those lines.

  • Captivate 6 publishing to HTML5 for Android 4.1

    Now that Android has officially dropped support for Flash with version 4.1 (aka "Jellybean"), does anyone see hope for Adobe making improvements in the ability for Captivate 6 to publish HTML5 files for the Android environment, that run properly (including sound)?
    I have tested a variety of HTML5 capable browsers, and most fail in delivering audio.  This included Chrome, Firebox, Opera, and others.  The best one I have found, in terms of working with the HTML5 Captivate content, is Dolphin combined with Dolphin JetPack.
    This is very disappointing.  The Android industry is closing the Flash door, yet Adobe has not responded with fixes to HTML5 output in response.

    Hi All,
    I have come up with solution .
    re-direct firefox  using js to other location   & for IE/safari/Chrome to original content unmodified
    Step 1) convert all audio files from .mp3 found in folder named "ar" to .ogg and place in the same folder
    Step2)  "Project.js" rename all the audio files named as .mp3 to .ogg
    example : open "Projects.js" using any text editor then  rename all .mp3 to .ogg
    1923.mp3 find using Ctrl+f rename to 1923.ogg rename all audio files to ogg
    Step3) find folder "asserts" find "js" open "CPHTML5Warnings.js" using your favourite text editor
    Add the folowing line so that Error message is not displayed
    this.BrowserEnum.FIREFOX_MIN_SUPPORTED_VERSION = xx;
    after the line
    this.BrowserEnum.SAFARI_MIN_SUPPORTED_VERSION = 5.1;
    Under "//Check for browser Compatibility"
    find this lines first
    if((this.browser == this.BrowserEnum.MSIE) && (this.browserVersion >= this.BrowserEnum.MSIE_MIN_SUPPORTED_VERSION ))
                lSupported = true;
    add these lines
    else if((this.browser == this.BrowserEnum.FIREFOX) && (this.browserVersion >= this.BrowserEnum.FIREFOX_MIN_SUPPORTED_VERSION ))
                lSupported = true;
    Save, Your are allset you can play html5 on FIREFIOX on antroid devise ,tested

  • Any method to create a SUM Total for a column whose values based on LAG?

    I have a question here, and the challenge is to explain my situation well. I am trying to develop a workbook that shows by project and month, the cost this period and the change in cost from the prior period. I want a SUM total on the Cost This Period and Cost Change From Prior Mth columns. So what I want to do looks something like this -
    Project Month Cost This Period Cost Chg from Prior Mth
    ABCDE Jan $50,000 NULL (since no preceeding row)
    ABCDE Feb $75,000 $25,000
    ABCDE Mar $60,000 -15,000
    Total $185,000 $10,000
    I do the Cost Chg from Prior Mth as a new calculation, and use the Insert Formula from Template process to use the F(x) Difference template to create my calculation. That is working just great. If you look at the underlying code for this new column, you can see the LAG function being utilized in calculating this value. I am lagging one row, as you can see from the example above.
    I can create a new total and do a SUM for the Cost This Period column and get the correct answer (the $185,000).
    The problem I am running into is that I am not getting anything when I try to sum my Cost Chg from Prior Mth column. The result is just blank (does print the total's text, but no amount).
    My thought is that the NULL row in this column was messing up the SUM from working. So I created a new calculation and said CASE WHEN Cost Chg from Prior Mth IS NULL THEN 0.00 ELSE Cost Chg from Prior Mth. So I get a new column with the same numbers except for the first row, where I now have a 0 instead of NULL. I then created a new total (SUM function) on this brand new column. Darn. Same result as for the other column. I do not get an amount.
    Has anyone else run into an issue with trying to sum up a column of numbers that are being calculated from a LAG function in Discoverer? Any suggestions on how I could get a SUM to properly calculate for this Cost Chg from Prior Mth column? Or have I run across one of those irritating "cannot handle in Discoverer" issues?
    Of course I can export the workbook run results to Excel and create the calculation in there, and that works just fine.
    John Dickey

    Hi John
    Thanks for the question and the great information. That really helped. I love these kinds of questions. They make me think :-)
    Just a thought but have you tried altering the SUM to be a CELL SUM?
    The SUM will try to evaluate the LAG over the total which would be invalid whereas, at least in theory, the CELL SUM should literally add the values.
    Best wishes
    Michael

    hello Maxwell ,
    hhave a look at tcode BAPI , under MM application area.... u will get all BAPIs related to MM modules.
    Identify if a quotation number exists in the system which a specific sales organization.
    Determine the sale price of a material for a specific customer-->u need to ask your functional consultant , may be he is creating info record for that one?
    A simplier way to identify the plant specific status of a material without using the MATERIALGETALL-->use table MARC
    Identify if a specific customer used a supplied purchase order before.
    Identify if a customer has been placed on credit hold-->i think u can make use of tcode vkm4 or custome master data will have all these info.

  • Total Score in Sum Total not correct

    We are using Captivate 4 and the Sum Total LMS.  Our course consists of 2 lessons which are not scored and an assessment which is scored.  The settings for the lessons are Slide Views Only so the lessons have the Topic Status Complete or Incomplete on the Sum Total LMS Learning Activity Progress Detail page, with the Score % blank.  The assessment also has Topic Status Complete or Incomplete, and also a Score % (80% required to pass).  The Topic Status and Score % values are correct for the lessons and the assessment, however the Total Score is not correct.  When the user completes the 2 lessons and the assessment with a score of 100%, the Total Score shows as only 33%.  So it seems that Sum Total is including the lessons in the Total Score, and calculating the Total Score by (100+0=0)/3 = 33%, i.e. assigning 0% to the lessons even though the Score % is blank for the lessons.
    Is there a way to have the Total Score be just for the assessment?  If the user scores 100% on the assessment we would like the Total Score to be 100%.

    Hi,
          Can you make your question more clear, it is not clear what is you requirement exactly.
    '.Total stock not issued from gate in stock.' : Yuou mean to say GR made with 103 but 105 not done for that
    or  Total stock in store but not issued yet )  : there is no GI with any movemen type ??

  • Captivate 6 for Mac too buggy for use (screen corruption, mouse/audio instability)

    Corrupt Screens. The main problem is corrupt screens (visually jumbled, with elements of previous screens). The corrupt screens appear in both Preview in a Web Browser and in a published project. I've observed the problem when I capture website interactions (using either Safari or Firefox). It might be isolated to web browsers and not other applications, but I'm not sure. The project slides themselves look fine. The problem occurs during the transition to an HTML/SWF-based preview or published file.
    Unfortunately the problem appears to be intermittent and unpredictable: one Preview (in Web Browser) might show one corrupt screen; a subsequent Preview (in Web Browser) might show four corrupt screens (after making no changes to the Captivate file). It appears to be related to various timeline factors (mouse position, mouse duration). I was able to temporarily eliminate the problem in one project file by making sure all mouse elements had a 2/10th second gap before the end of the slide and were no longer than 2 seconds long. But in a later test, controlling for these variables did not work.
    There are two other related bugs that occur in Preview or publish:
    Mouse. If I move the mouse object from its original position on the timeline, say, from the end of the slide to a position just before, and then move it back to the end of the slide, the result is faulty mouse behavior. It moves very slowly over the first part of its arc, then either skips suddenly to the destination or doesn't complete the arc at all when the slide advances to the next slide.
    Audio. Sometimes the audio for a single slide will not play. This is intermittent and unpredictable, like the screen corruption bug. The problem sometimes goes away after moving the mouse on the timeline slightly, but this isn't reliable.
    In any case, moving the mouse away from the end of the slide is not a desirable workaround, even when it does work. The delay between the "click" and the slide transition looks sloppy, and is contrary to the expected mouse behavior (to quickly trigger a slide transition).
    I have been working with two people at Adobe tech support, but we have not found a solution or isolated the problem. I've also documented several keystroke bugs on this forum. So, after nearly 3 weeks of aggravation, I have concluded that Captivate 6 for Mac has serious bugs and is not reliable. I am forced to go back to Captivate 5.5.

    I have experienced the exact same issues.  I've republished files over and over again with unpredictable results.  Missing audio, ghost backgrounds, visual artifacts.  That doesn't even begin to address the other major annoyances like the stage jumping around when you do things like adjust element properties, audio editor opening up half off the screen so that it has to be manually dragged back EACH TIME.
    I'm totally frustrated and disgusted with the quality of this product.  I don't care one bit about all the new features it has, I just want the featues that are there to work right and work reliably.  Today alone, I lost over 4 hours of productivity to resolving buggy software issues... I'm not exaggerating, 4 HOURS !.  This is absolutely unacceptable.  The software does NOT work well at all.  Adobe should be horrified with how bad this software performs.  I can't say enough negative things about this without using expletives that are well deserved.
    After purchssing adobe software for 25 years, I am running out of patience.  They are too big and too focused on new features instead of just making the ones they have work well.  I used to love Adobe more than any other software company.  That is definitely no longer the case.  I have no intention of up doing any more upgrades after this.  If these APPALLING blatant issues are not resolved before they release version 7,  I will not upgrade and may well consider enlisting others in a class action suit.  Fire all the developers who have a hand in this.  Fire all the managers who signed off on it's readiness.  Go back to the drawing board and make this right.
    I fully intend on posting this in every forum I can find.  This software has cost me too much time and money.

  • Adding Sum Totals from Multiple Tables in A single Document

    Hello All,
    I'm having trouble adding sum totals from multiple tables I've created in a Pages 09 doc. I putting together a spreadsheet for cost projections for a house remodel. I created tables for each room of the house. At the bottom of the document I'd like to have another table that takes the totals from each individual room and adds them up. Problem appears to be that each table has the same x/y axis labels so row and column numbers/letters are repeated so the final table can't quantify thing correctly.
    Any easy solutions? I can't find anything that's helped in my search efforts.
    Thanks,
    Josefis

    Jerry,
    Thanks for the feedback. I thought that might be the case. And you were correct to assume I was more comfortable in Pages. I'm halfway through converting everything to numbers. In the end it will work great too. Just some different formatting/design choices to be made as numbers doesn't appear to be as versatile in the same way pages is with design. So far it looks pretty good though.
    Thanks again,
    Josefis
