Hi,
there is a tutorial:

I think you need Oracle AS, because you need an instance which "talks" http....

Publish PL/SQL as Web Service
I am new to Oracle Web Service. I went through Publish PL/SQL as Web Service tutorial and tested from browser. When I tested by
http://127.0.0.1:8888/PLSQL-PLSQL-context-root/my.CompanyWebService
I got following message:
"Error parsing the WSDL for this endpoint.
oracle.wsdl.internal.WSDLException: oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParseException: Start of root element expected."
I was able to display WSDL somehow by
http://127.0.0.1:8888/PLSQL-PLSQL-context-root/my.CompanyWebService?WSDL
I have no clue what is the problem. Please help.
Thanks.

[email protected]Hi,
The problem could be because of wrong JDK version. Looks like you are using JDK1.4.2. Could you try checking with JDK 1.3.x
If you still face problems, specify your environment details and at what stage you are getting the error.

Invoking a bpm process with web services with a return value
Hello,
Im invoking a bpm process in my application using web services. The problem is that I want to get a responde with the process id of the created process, but not wait for the finishing of the process. Is this possible?
thank youAssuming this is for Oracle BPM 11g.
I'm a novice at this and sure others will have infinitely better ideas (have I lowered your expectations enough?), but here are two thoughts. Both of these ideas assume that your child process was invoked by an Oracle BPM parent process.
When you expose a process as a web service and invoke it asynchronously from a parent process, there is a call back service available. I've yet to figure out exactly how to get it to work, but if you look at the "Start" event's property in the composite (it's the service) you will see the callback information in the bottom dropdown. I believe what this means is that from your child process, you can use a Service activity to invoke a service that invokes the callback service back to the parent process's Service activity.
My other idea (you're not going to like this one) would be to to invoke the subprocess using a Message Start Event activity instead of the Service activity you're currently using. If you go this route, then you could have your parent process kick off the child subprocess using a Message Start Event activity and then immediately after this have a Message Catch Event activity. The child process could have a Message Throw Event activity immediately after its Start Message Event activity that sends a notification to the parent process. The good part about this is that I've actually gotten this to work.
You can send argument information back to the parent process, but (sorry) I don't yet know how to capture the process id.
Wish I could be of more help and hope this helps a little. -
Publishing pl/sql as web services using axis
Hello,
I am a newbie to web services.
I want to publish pl/sql packages as web services using axis and tomcat. Can you please tell me where to start - I will appreciate any information, links to tutorials and docs. Can you please tell me what I need to deploy and run the services.
Thank you very much in advance!
EkaHello,
The OracleAS Database Web Service is only available for OracleAS using the Oracle Web Service runtime and tools as documented here.
If you are not using OracleAS or if you want to use another Web Service stack you can still manually program you Web Service manually using JDBC and is features.
Here a generic article: http://www.onjava.com/pub/a/onjava/2003/08/13/stored_procedures.html
and you can use advanced features of JDBC and JPublisher if needed:

Publishing pl/sql as web service without AS or OC4J
Hi,
I've read about new Native Web Services in Oracle 11g and I like the idea.
But how to do similar approach in 10g or even 9.2 database?
I would like to have database only web service without AS, but I cannot use 11g right now.
I didn't find any discussion about the new native WS within 11g database. It's great, isn't?

Hi all,
I have java 1.6 and oracle 11g, so i included ojdbc6.jar in the classpath and also start up script of oc4j. Apparently the wrong classpath, since whatever code that wants to fetch or create a datasource does not have access to the classes in ojdbc6.jar.
There is only one real course of action: read the OC4J manual to figure out how to properly work with datasources. Or post in the OC4J forum like you've already been doing recently... -
Consuming web services with Attachments
Hello,
I need to consume a web service with attachements (mime type) from sap was j2ee 7.0 (nw2004s).
When I try to generate the web service deployable proxy using nwds (version 7.0.06), I get the following error message
"Invalid WSDL or WSDL not found, please specify different WSDL.."
Removing references to"wsi:swaRef" from wsdl, above error is not displayd and wsdl is correctly processed
<complexType name="ArrayOf_tns2_swaRef">
- <sequence>
<element maxOccurs="unbounded" minOccurs="0" name="swaRef" nillable="true" type="wsi:swaRef" />
</sequence>
</complexType>
Unfortunately, we have not been able to find any SAP documentation (online help, oss note,,,) describing if SAP WAS Java 7.0 supports this standard.
Has anybody already worked with Web Services with attachments ?
Thanks in advace,

Publish web services with SAP 7.1
hello everybody,
i'm working with a sap installation netweaver 7.1
i want publish some functions as web services.
I made it many time with NW 7.0 without problem.
At the moment i'm using the same procedure:
SE37 - function name - Utilities - create webservices, etc etc...
SOAMANAGER - download wsdl etc etc
for test wsdl , usually i use Eclipse or other wsdl client.
when i publish webservices with 7.1 i have back errors from each client.
Does procedure is changed??
i'm missing something?Did you used WSPUBLISH transaction for publishing?
You just configured service NOT published it. You can still configure it using SOAMANAGER just create service and endpoint (give any name) and it is done then you can use binding url for testing.
If this doesn't help then my advice to re-read everything related to Webservice Configuration (do not read about publishing). You are confusing two different thing, YOU CAN'T PUBLISH SERVICE WITHOUT SR.
Please read this and follow exact steps: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/47/3971ff39591a53e10000000a1553f7/content.htm
If you are creating using wizard in SE80/SE37 then skip publishing part of service.

Error while deploying when working with web service
Hi friends,
I am working with web service. When i try to run the build.xml, I'm receiving an error as follows:
*[javac] D:\MyWorkspace\MyProjectWeb\Javasource\aaa\bbb\ccc\ws\endpoint\ListenerServiceEndpoint.java:27: package org.springframework.ws.server.endpoint does not exist
[javac] import org.springframework.ws.server.endpoint.AbstractDomPayloadEndpoint;
[javac] ^ *
Could anyone please help me in getting this solved??
Thanks in Advance,
RobisPretty self-explanatory - the Spring framework jars are missing from the classpath used in compilation.
If you don't have them, get them from www.springframework.org. -
Web services with JDeveloper - serialization error
Dear all,
I have an issue with web services created with JDeveloper 10.1.3.2.0.
Namely, this is what I do:
1. I've created some TopLink classes from tables; one of this classes is called Task (and it's located in a package called "integration")
2. I've created another class, called Integration, where I use these TopLink classes; in this new class I have a method called getTasksStatus, which returns an ArrayList containing Task objects
3. I've created a web service from this class (Integration) by right-clicking on the class name in Applications Navigator and choosing Create J2EE Web Service.
When I call the method getTasksStatus from the test web service (endpoint),
I get this error:
Oct 8, 2007 7:14:30 PM oracle.webservices.service
SEVERE: serialization error: no serializer is registered for (class integration.Task, null) serialization error: no serializer is registered for (class integration.Task, null)
When I call a method which returns a primitive type, everything is fine.
I understand the problem, but I don't know a solution yet. Could you please help ?
Thank you,
Best regards,
SorinOne solution to this problem is to make sure that the complex type you are using in yous service interface do implement the JAVA Bean as per the spec (at least Oracle's interpretation of it).
You need to have getter/setter for all members and you need to have an empty ctor() to create new instances of your objects. In some cases, the design time let you get by, but the runtime fails in the code generation.
In your case, the 'Task' class may have some issue.
Hope it helps,

SSIS Web Service Task Error with WCF Service
I have read all the other posts on this site and have not been able to resolve my issue.
For testing purposes i created a very simple WCF service that takes no arguments and returns true. That is all it does.
When i create a winform client and instantiate the service i can run my service method and get true back so i know the service works.
I then create a test SSIS package with 1 task, a web service task.
I set the web service tasks properties as follows:
http connection: http://localhost/WCF_SSIS_Prototype/Service1.svc
wsdl file: C:\...\SSIS_WCF_Prototype\Service1.wsdl (I know this is not a valid path, i changed it for posting to forum)
Service: Service1
Method: GetData
Variable: User::BResult
When i run the package i get the following error:
[Web Service Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebserviceTaskException: Could not execute the Web method. The error is: Method 'ProxyNamespace.Service1.GetData' not found.. at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebMethodInvokerProxy.InvokeMethod(DTSWebMethodInfo methodInfo, String serviceName, Object connection) at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTaskUtil.Invoke(DTSWebMethodInfo methodInfo, String serviceName, Object connection) at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTask.executeThread()".
I'm not sure why it is saying "Method 'ProxyNamespace.Service1.GetData' not found. It the web service task trying to create a proxy class and naming the proxy class namespace ProxyNamespace?
Any help is greatly appreciated.Hi,
How do you get around the same issue if your string type is based on a client token ? I downloaded the .wsdl file, was able to see the service name, method and when selecting a method type, I am required to provide a client token which was given
to me. (Name column = clienttoken, Type = string, Value = 2227656 - ec8922 (client token numbers goes there)? I am new to use ssis and need your help please

Error Hex 0xFFFEF84D (web services with control system application)
Hello,
I'm trying to deploy a web service and it appears that when I use an element from the Control Design and Simulation panel I get the following error:
"Error LabVIEW: (Hex 0xFFFEF84D) LabVIEW Web Services: An error occurred when extracting the deployed Web service. occurred. "
I can't convert the hex number to anything meaningful that I can search with.
any help out there?
Solved!
Go to Solution.Hi Matt,
I've attached an simplified example of where it seems to crash. It's a simple set-up: input to mathscript which runs a step function. I've tried to change the build parameters but can't seem to get it to work.

Web services with servicegen i Weblogic 7
I am trying to create web services with Weblogic's tool servicegen and
ANT. It works great until I have a web service method that return a PK
class of an EJB. I get the error "Error: bean property and public
field found with the same name: id" (full stacktrace below). After
some investigating I found out that it was my PK class that was the
bad guy. But my PK class MUST have the field "id" public, otherwise
ejbc complains...
Am I doing anything wrong or does anyone have a solution?

weblogic.xml.schema.binding.BindingException: Error: bean property and
public field found with the same name: idWeb services can only be published to BEA if you install Apache SOAP on BEA and use the Apache SOAP option of JDeveloper. The J2EE Web Services implementation framework is specific to Oracle9iAS.
The PL/SQL Web Services server implementation is based on the J2EE Web Services option and as a result is not really portable to BEA.
To publish a PL/SQL Web service on BEA with JDeveloper you would have to write the Java wrapper code to invoke the stored procedure using standard JDBC and then publish that Java class as a Web service using Apache SOAP. Then if you had Apache SOAP installed on BEA you would be set.
Portability of Web services implementations is a big feature coming with JAX-RPC - currently what most vendors have is interoperability between implementations because of things like SOAPBuilders and WS-I. When JAX-RPC becomes part of J2EE 1.4 roughly in June and vendors start putting out implementations on it you should get closer to portability.
In the meantime, the easiest way to get portability is to use the same SOAP server on both servers - Apache SOAP is a good example.
Hope this helps.

Calling Reporting Services Web Service with jQuery possible?
Hi,
is it possible to call the Reporting Services Web Service with jQuery? If yes, can someone post me a small example?
Background:
My plan is to create a html with a form which is also uploaded then into the reportserver. I open this html later by clicking a link in a report (with gotoURL open.window). The report opens the html inclusive the overtaken of some additional parameters
(reportname, reportdescription). These parameters I will use in the html-form as defaultvalues for the corresponding input-text-fields. Now the user can make some changes (i.e. the decription). With a click on a button I will send the new description to
the Reporting Services Web Service by using the SetProperties method, closing the html-window and reload the report. Important is that I want to upload the html also into the reportserver itself.
I have already found how to consume a web service via jQuery but with the Reporting Services Web Service I did not get it running in my tests.
I have referenced to the following jQuery.js: http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.1/jquery.min.js
Here you can see my tests I made with the results:
$.ajax({
type: 'POST',
url: 'http://<..>/ReportServer/ReportService2010.asmx/ListChildren',
data: {'ItemPath':'/','Recursive':false},
complete: function(xData, status) {
$('p').html($(xData.responseXML).text()); // result
$("#divStatus").text( status ); // status }
I got a NULL response with Status success. But where are the items?
Another test which should response only one value was that:
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
contentType: "text/xml; charset=utf-8",
url: "http://<..>/ReportServer/ReportService2010.asmx/GetItemType",
data: {"Item":"/Development"}, // Development is a Folder in my Reportserver-Root
dataType: "xml",
success: function (msg) {
$("#divResult").html(msg.responseXML);
error: function (data, status, error) {
$("#divResult").html("WebSerivce unreachable<br> <br>" + data.responseXML + "<br> <br>(" + error + ")");
Here I got an [object Error]
And here my last test:
var soapMessage = '<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>\
<soap:Envelope \
xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" \
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" \
xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">\
<soap:Body>\
<GetItemType xmlns="http://www.microsoft.com/sql/ReportingServer">\
<ItemPath>/Development</ItemPath>\
</GetItemType>\
</soap:Body>\
</soap:Envelope>';
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
contentType: "text/xml; charset=utf-8",
url: http://<..>/ReportServer/ReportService2010.asmx?wsdl,
data: soapMessage,
dataType: "xml",
success: processSuccess,
error: processError
function processSuccess(data, status, req) {
if (status == "success")
$("#response").text($(req.responseXML).find("Type").text());
function processError(data, status, req) {
alert(req.responseText + " " + status);
Here I got an "Undefined error"
Can anyone help me?
Thanks
