Publish Transparent to Opaque Text

I am new to Flash and am trying to do the following:
Motion tween with text. Moving text from pt A to pt B and
from transparent/invisible to opaque. I am doing this in one layer
with a movie imported that plays in another. When I play it back in
flash it looks fine. I have converted the text to a graphic symbol
too.
When I publish the fla to swf and play back the text tween,
say in a browser, the tween movement is there, but not from
transparent to opaque. It remains opaque the entire time. What am I
doing wrong?
Thanks!
bmgid

I converted the text to a graphic symbol so I could create
the transparency percentage. Can I do a transparency to opaque
tween w/text not converted?
Thanks,
bmgid

  • Xfce4-panel transparent with opaque text/icons

    I'm trying to achieve panel transparency with opaque text/icons, I googled around and eventually found a few helpful posts. I'm trying to use the patch guide posted in this topic a few years back:
    https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=71248
    when I try to makepkg, "xfce4-panel-4.6.1.tar.bz2" doesn't pass a validity check for the md5sums. Is this patch even up to date? If it isnt where can I find a more up to date one because so far I've been unsuccessful in that regard.
    Also, I assume that patching is still the only option for achieving this transparency effect in xfce4 or has something new been developed?

    Sorry about my last post. I just thought that if you couldn't get it to work with opaque icons, then you wanted the next best thing. Anyway, maybe it is because the patch is for xfce 4.6.1 .

    This is how I patched mine:
    place the new 4.6.1 patch, this PKGBUILD, and the xfce4-panel.install files in a folder called ~/xfce4-panel-build:
    PKGBUILD file:

    ./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc --libexecdir=/usr/lib \
    --localstatedir=/var --disable-static
    make || return 1
    make DESTDIR=${pkgdir} install || return 1
    xfce4-panel.install file:
    post_install() {
    gtk-update-icon-cache -q -t -f usr/share/icons/hicolor
    post_upgrade() {
    post_install $1
    post_remove() {
    gtk-update-icon-cache -q -t -f usr/share/icons/hicolor
    then in the xfce4-panel-build folder run this in a terminal:
    makepkg -c
    I think this should work for you. Then all you have to do is install it using pacman -U, and then restart the panel using these 2 commands in alt+f2 run program:
    killall xfce4-panel
    then:
    xfce4-panel &
    Try changing everything that says xfce 4.6.1 to 4.6.2 because xfce4-session is 4.6.2 . Or maybe change it to 4.6.4 which is the version of the panel. I don't know what to do about the md5sum error. Delete the line maybe? If you are sure it downloaded correctly. Hope that helps.

  • XFCE transparent panel with opaque text?

    I've been searching and I can't find any material on this. Do you think a simple line .gtkrc will do the trick? If so what's the proper line?
    Thanks,

    This is exactly what I'm looking for: http://blog.xfce.org/?p=177 but I'm not exactly sure how to go about using the patch: http://www.loculus.nl/xfce/files/panel-cairo.patch ?

  • Help Menu Search Bar Transparency Not Opaque With Increase Contrast Option

    Hi,
    I am running OS X 10.10 and I've turned on the Reduce Transparency and the Increase Contrast options.
    I've noticed, however, that with the Increase Contrast On the background of the search bar in the Help menu is transparent again and with black text (making it even harder to read then normal). If I have only the Reduce Transparency on then it is opaque as expected. It's with both Reduce Transparency and Increase Contrast on that causes this behavior.
    Is this a bug that anyone else has experienced or is it just me? Any ideas how to fix this annoyance (other than turning off Increase Contrast)?
    Thanks

    I'm having the same problem here. Not really sure why it's not working, but checking the "synchronize with google" box seems to do nothing.

  • Toolbar area on laptop is transparent, not opaque like desktop. How fix?

    On my desktop, the Firefox toolbar area is an opaque beige color, making the text and icons in the toolbars easy to see and read. I installed Firefox on my laptop, and used Sync, and set the same toolbars. But on the laptop the toolbars are transparent; the desktop shows through and makes them hard to read.

    Can I make a translucent object appear opaque without using fill? I made a sketch and I'm trying to have it appear in front of the background. Unfortunately, if I use any kind of fill, it ruins my sketch? Is there a way to get around this?

    I'm guessing that you can see some background coming through your translucent sections?
    without the background selected you cold try flatten transparency, but you will find it changes edit-ability somewhat.

  • Transparency issue bolding text

    I've had this issue and I thought it was resolved...
    On my pages, any text that has any transparent layer over or under it gets auto bolded. This is causing test to look ugly on some parts. I was told to place the text as top layer, but this is not fixing the issue and the text still has bad bolding where it as much as touches a transparent layer. Multiply transparency option is not helping. I have a catalog that needs to go out this week. Help pls...
    PS: only affects when printing from a pdf file source. It is not visible until it is printed from the pds. Printing from indesign does not seem to have issues, but my printer uses pdf, and I can't send them my 20gig indesign folder.
    Any suggestions?

  • Animation Tweening is producing a transparent to opaque transition

    I have two frames with the start and end of my animation. My two layers contain a transparent background and an opaque object. When I choose the tweening option and add my specified number of frames, then test the animation, the start of the animation is 0% opaque and slowly becomes 100% at the end.
    My two layers used for start and finish are opaque. I have all the checkboxes checked by default for the tweening, and I can't figure why I'm getting a fade-in effect for my animation.
    What am I missing here?
    David

    Solved it. I found a great YouTube video tutorial about this. He showed that I needed to DUPLICATE my first frame with only one layer of content in the file, not having a separate layers of content to tween between two existing frames.
    Now I understand what was going wrong. My tweening was only working on one layer, and it was going from nothing to opaque.
    Here's the video link if it will help others.

  • ID CS3 Transparency weirdness with text/special effects

    Okay, I was putting together a brochure for my job today and noticed this oddity. I placed a text box w/text over a stock photo and printed it out - everything was fine. Then I added a drop shadow to the text and all of a sudden the photo became rather desaturated.
    Just in case this was some sort of weirdness with that particular document, I created a new document, placed several photos on a page, and then created a text box and applied a drop shadow. All the photos on the page again noticeably lost saturation, and here's the weird part, the text box didn't even touch any of the photos. It only appears to affect items on the same page - items on other pages are unaffected.
    It seems whenever you have an object or text frame on a page with transparency or a special effect like a drop shadow, all the photos on the page lose about 20% saturation.
    Am I missing something that I can compensate for, or is this a bug/feature?

    I'm using shadows and transparency overlays in my InDesign CS3 application. When I output that file to a press resolution pdf file, it appears fine. However, when the digital printer runs the project, the transparency disappears and i get white boxes in the place of transparent boxes.
    The print provider is a non-offset source and is using some other RIP to process the file. Is the transparency feature posing a problem in the offset invironment?

  • 3D transparent sphere with text

    I want to create a 3d sphere with 3D text around that shere. I can actualy do it with simple text applying black/withe in the transparency menu over a pre-defined texture. It looks good, but i would like to put 3d text over a transparent sphere so i would see that text around.

    Hi Jean,
    There's no quick way to achieve this in Ps. With CS5 and Repoussé you can get the 3D text creation but it will not align to 3D shapes. What you can do manually is rotate and move each 3D letter to a guide so that it appears to wrap on a shape. Here's an example of wrapping it to a cylinder ( I used a circle for a guide and set camera view to 'Top'). I used a mesh for the ground plane, which is why the p's descender is not viewable.
    Is this along the lines of what your were looking to do?

  • How do I set the opacity/transparency of a text box

    Hello,
    I am trying to make a simple applescript to make a "FPO" which will be transparent at 50%
    tell application "Adobe InDesign CC 2014"
      tell active document
      set FPOimage to make text frame with properties {geometric bounds:{".25", ".25", "1.5", "4.2"}}
      set contents of FPOimage to "FPO"
      tell paragraph 1 of FPOimage
      tell paragraphs to set justification to center align
      set point size to 125
      set applied font to "Arial Black"
      set font style of paragraph 1 to "Regular"
      end tell
      tell text frame preferences of FPOimage
      set vertical justification to center align
      set opacity to 50
      end tell
      end tell
    end tell
    BUT ITS NOT WORKING...help?

    I figured it out...
      tell FPOimage
      tell transparency settings
      set properties of blending settings to {blend mode:normal, opacity:40.0}
      end tell
      end tell
    thank god for the internet, i do hope this helps anyone else looking to do the same thing. Next challenge is to make a dialog box so that the user can put any text in it and color they want.

  • Transparent Painting over text in JPEG map image

    By accident one time I was able to open a color jpeg image of a trail map I had constructed and brush in a green overlay (for forest cover) that left my trails and lettering visible. I have never been able to repeat that. Do I really need to add layers? I use the latest version of Elements, with Windows Vista.

    You are always better off using a new layer, that way the original is left unaltered. Make a new layer and fill it with the color you want, then lower the opacity to a level you wish.
    With a separate layer if you decide you don't like it, you can delete, change color, opacity, blending mode, etc.

  • How do I create a transparent div with 100% opacity text?

    See my reference site in development at www.gogographics.ca/hh
    I have a transparent menu but want to have solid opaque text on it so it shows up better. What I have so far is the text taking on the opacity of the div!
    Here is the CSS I have on the div:
    .navcontainer ul ul {
        background-color: #000;
        filter:alpha(opacity=60);
        opacity:.6;
        display: none;
        position: absolute;
        left: 0;
        color: #FFF;
    Please help if you can!
    Thanks!

    This gets asked a lot.
    Opacity effects everything inside it.  Try using a semi-transparent.png.

  • Rotated Text/Images look fuzzy when Published

    I've a menu on my site which uses angled text. As soon as I publish this however, the text gets fuzzy edges. I thought I could get over this issue by creating the links in my meny as graphics in PS and importing them as buttons but as soon as I roate them in Muse they get fuzzy edges again.
    I havn't made the site live yet as it's in very early design stages.
    Does anyone have an answer to fix this issue? Thanks

    Thanks for coming back to me! I tried that actually as well. I rotated the images which are the links in PS and then imported them and it works fine from a quality point of view but it introduced another issue. My menu is basically composed of links at an angle as I was saying but I save this as a rectangle from PS and import. Only the centre part of this rectangle has text, the rest is transparent. When I align them all up in Muse, some of the links overlap which causes issues with my buttons. If I roll over one, it activates the one beside it. I couldn't see any other way around this other than to create them flat and then rotate them in muse. Do you see how I can fix this?

  • Print PDF rich text editor using BI Publisher

    Hi !
    I have a CLOB field from database, and I store data using a rich text editor, like a MS Word system, here as you know, I can write words in bold format, use differents kind of colors, etc... and use all formatted text that the editor allow me. I haven't problems once save this data into table and restore again, I can see all this data formatted , and I don't loose any property of this formatted text.
    The problem is when I want print this information in the same way that I can see in the rich text editor. I use BI Publisher for generate a PDF, when I send this field for print a PDF, the PDF that BI publisher generate, print only text, prints all characters including generating that text is formatted, for example, if the field is written in bold print "<b>hello</b>" in the PDF generated by BI Publisher see "< b. > hello < / b>".
    Please which is the way for print the same as is displayed in the rich text editor?
    Thanks in advance.

    Bump Again. I understand how to remove the HTML tags, thats not a problem. The problem is getting the report to print the data from a Rich Text Field stored in a CLOB or NCLOB as formatted text. Is there a "Master Style Template" or "Master Rich Text Field Subtemplate"?
