  • Publishing Application Modules as Web Services runs into error

    Hello,
    I want to create a web service based upon and ADF BC Application (in other words, based upon a data control).
    I want to expose the ADF BC Application functionality (DML, calling of procedures) via Web Service.
    I read in the Developers Guid for Forms4GL Developers, parapragh 33.4 (Publishing Application Modules as Web Services), how this can be done:
    How to Enable the J2EE Web Service Option for an Application Module
    To enable your application module as a web service:
    1. Enable a custom Java class for your application module and add to it one or more
    custom methods that you want to appear on the web service interface.
    2. Open the Application Module editor and on the Client Interface tab, select one or
    more custom methods to appear on the client interface.
    3. With the Application Module editor still open, on the Remote panel, select
    Remoteable Application Module, select J2EE Web Service in the Available list
    and shuttle it to the selected list.
    4. Then click OK to save your changes.
    When I follow this series of actions I get the following error:

    Thanks Carlo for your reply.
    I have read again the link and you are correct that in using the preferred command together with localhost under POTS dial-peer, I can now select which correct path to choose for my outbound calls. I'm just not very strong with dial-peer and translation rules at the moment.
    I will try this solution during the weekend and let you know. But it would have been better if there was a sample configuration for this option.

  • What is the purpose of User-Defined Functions under Excel Service Application?

    Hello, I have done a lot of research and have concluded that we cannot use VBA present under Excel sheet code in sharepoint.
    Today I was reading on excel services in sharepoint. I came across User-defined functions under Excel Service Application settings. I believe that User defined functions refer to the Calculations and VBA (am I wrong on this?).
    If true, then, does this bring hope that we can use embedded VBA code present into excel sheet in SharePoint also?

    Hi Nachiket,
    When you set  ‘Allow External Data’ to None, it disables all external data connections for the trusted file location.
    When you set  ‘Allow External Data’ to ‘Trusted data connection libraries and embedded’, it enables connections that are embedded in the workbook file or connections that are stored in a trusted data connection library.
    More information, please refer to the link:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219699.aspx
    As your description, when you tried to set Allow External Data to None, the external data also was displayed, it may be caused by data cache or time delay.
    I hope this helps.

  • ORACLE APEX POST Restful Web services

    Any examples and/or ideas into how to insert a XML or JSON style document into column with XMLtype, varchar2, clob or blob type using an Apex post restful web service? I don't want to use SQL loader, external tables or something that requires a directory in the database server.

    Oracle Apex Listener 2.0
    Oracle database 11.2.0.3
    thank you!

    MK,
    I am able to insert into a table the following json document;
    {"name": "John", "age": "21"}
    Here is the code behind it.
    <code>
    create table students (
    name varchar2(100),
    age varchar2(100));
    begin
    insert into students(name, age)
    values(:name, :age);

    This works, But the following will fail,

    Hi,
    The problem could be because of wrong JDK version. Looks like you are using JDK1.4.2. Could you try checking with JDK 1.3.x
    If you still face problems, specify your environment details and at what stage you are getting the error.

  • Apex & SQL server reporting services

    Hi,
    Has anyone integrated SQL server reporting services with apex?
    I have a client that is running both Microsoft dynamics using SQL server reporting services and oracle.
    I am building them a web application on the oracle database and would like to use apex for the application and piggy bank onto the SSRS.
    The alternative is pl/PDF, which is too complex, jasper - can't see my client going down this road or bi publisher which is too expensive.
    I would love to use apex as it is a great tool, but unless I can integrate with SSRS I suspect I'll have to use ASP.net
    Thanks & happy new year

    PLPDF is not complex at all. Just skim through their sample reports and try to build some of yours, Then you'll realize how easy and powerful it is.

  • Publishing a stateless java web service

    Hi All,
    Two questions:
    1 - Does Oracle still support publishing java web services (stateless and stateful) just by declaring it in the web.xml file? I see that there are instructions on how to do this in an old whitepaper but any recent programmer documentation does not have it.
    2 - I tried declaring a java class as a web service in the web.xml and it seems to do something (ie., when I go to the URI, there is actually the wsdl, and the various methods that can be invoked). However, when invoking one of the methods (which should just return "Hello World" without any processing at all), I get the following exception. Any ideas?

    hello Jonathan
    In Jdev903 doc it is given that (pl/sql web service)
    Limitations
    On Oracle9i Database release 2, when a stored procedure or function of the same name and the same package name is accessible in more than one schema, then the SQLJ translator invoked during publication of PL/SQL web services will fail. In order to resolve this problem, ensure that packages to be published are visible only in one schema, and that no other packages in other schemas share the same name.
    The problem u explained come into the same category.Which database version u r using ? .

    Hi,
    What happens if you test your same workflow directly on the local BIP server ?   (i.e. by-passing proxy, firewall etc)
    Also, please Patch up to the latest version  (4.0 SP02 Patch2.11)  as there was an issue with WRC BI web Services previously.

  • Flash contents not being displayed on the published Apex application URL

    I've had to publish one of my apex application through an bluecoat proxy to reach my Oracle HTTP server. It works fantastic for everything - except my flash charts. Flash contents are not getting loaded.Issue is only in the published application URL,the same application is working fine internally without proxy.
    Does anyone have any idea why this is failing and how I might fix this?.The bluecoat support enginner is having the following findings
    I am seeing some strange behavior when the browser goes through the
    proxy vs when it does not.

    That is the browser requests
    http://ithelpdesk.anupcomp.ae/i/themes/theme_20/btn-bg.gif and gets a
    200 ok from the proxy/server.
    When the browser does not use the proxy I see the following
    behavior(packet 2783):
    The browser requests
    http://anupserver:7777/i/themes/theme_20/btn-bg.gif 2 times, each time
    the server responds with a 304 not modified status, this means the
    browser has the most recent copy of the .gif file. The browser finally
    does a post to http://anupserver:7777/pls/apex/wwv_flow.accept. Given
    that the browser gets a 200 ok response from the proxy when requesting
    http://ithelpdesk.anupcomp.ae/i/themes/theme_20/btn-bg.gif and then
    stops requesting data, we need to understand why the browser is behaving
    differently without the proxy(i.e. why does it request the content 2
    times and why is it doing the post). The interaction between the
    browser and the proxy appears normal, a 200 ok response with content is
    normal, why does the browser stop requesting content?

    Hello Orton,
    I think this has something to do with network access, may be a firewall restricting access to the server.

    I don't have the problem with the second arugument, using essentially the same command as yours. Could you make sure you clean up the following subdirectories and retry:
    ear query.ear src war
    My guess is that the leftover subdirectories in your previous run are playing game with you. You can simplify leftover management by specifying -output setting.

  • Error with User Type when publish a PL/SQL Web Service in JDeveloper

    Hi,
    I am using Jdeveloper 10.1.2.1 , have a PL/SQL package with these predefined types (types definition not include inside package);
    type reg_perfil as object (perfil varchar2(30), status varchar2(30))
    type tab_perfiles as table of reg_perfil
    type res_error as object (cerror number(1), cerror_ora varchar2(12), terror varchar2(50));
    type res_perfiles as object (error res_error, perfiles tab_perfiles)
    then I have a function:
    FUNCTION ff_perfiles(...) RETURN res_perfiles;
    When I publish from JDeveloper this package I get all the .java and sqlj files, but one of them is empty (TabperfilesUser.java) and of course compilation fails because it is looking for referenced class "TabPerfilesUser" that not exists!
    I know this is because is trying to map tab_perfiles type but there is some error.
    I realized that if I change the code of all files and replace "TabPerfilesUser" for "TabPerfilesBase" (this file and class was generated correctly) .... it works!!!, but of course I have to find another way to fixe it without changing generated code! (you know future maintenance).
    Is this a bug??? what could I do? ... by the way this happens also with JDveloper 10.1.3
    thanks...

    OK, This is the PL/SQL package:
    Function:
    FUNCTION Obtener_paises RETURN res_webservice AS
    v_respuesta res_webservice;
    i PLS_INTEGER:=1;
    CURSOR C_paises IS
    SELECT cpais, tpais
    FROM paises
    ORDER BY tpais;
    BEGIN
    v_respuesta := res_webservice(null,null);
    v_respuesta.error := res_error(null,null,null);
    v_respuesta.error.cerror := 0;
    v_respuesta.error.cerror_ora := 0;
    v_respuesta.error.terror := null;
    v_respuesta.datos := res_datos ();
    FOR v_pais IN C_paises LOOP
    v_respuesta.datos.extend;
    v_respuesta.datos(i) := reg_datos(null,null);
    v_respuesta.datos(i).codigo := v_pais.cpais;
    v_respuesta.datos(i).descripcion := v_pais.tpais;
    i := i + 1;
    END LOOP;
    Insertar_log(NULL,SYSDATE,'C','Obtener_paises',NULL,'ERROR:0');
    RETURN v_respuesta;
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    v_respuesta.error.cerror := 1;
    v_respuesta.error.cerror_ora := SQLCODE;
    v_respuesta.error.terror := substr(SQLERRM,1,80);
    Insertar_log(NULL,SYSDATE,'C','Obtener_paises',NULL,'ERROR:1 '||substr(SQLERRM,1,120));
    RETURN v_respuesta;
    END Obtener_paises;
    TYPES USED:
    CREATE OR REPLACE
    TYPE res_webservice AS OBJECT (error res_error, datos res_datos);
    CREATE OR REPLACE
    TYPE res_error AS OBJECT (cerror NUMBER(1), cerror_ora VARCHAR2(12), terror VARCHAR2(80));
    CREATE OR REPLACE
    TYPE res_datos AS TABLE OF reg_datos;
    CREATE OR REPLACE
    TYPE reg_datos AS OBJECT(codigo VARCHAR2(12), descripcion VARCHAR2(150));
    Thanks in advanced...
    Could happen this bacause of these defined types???

  • Need functional module for service order

    hello,
    while creating service notification i want to create service order automatically.for that i need a functional module which is the key funtion to process creation of transaction in the background. i want the name of that functional module to create iw31 service order automatically  and that of functional group so that i can assign in the action box.

    Hi,
    unfortunately there is no such "official" BAPI available - not even in ERP2005! There is a BAPI called BAPI_ALM_ORDER_MAINTAIN but this is for changing an already existing service order.
    But, you can use what the "SAP CRM group" developed for their integration to the backend R/3 system. This FM is called CRM_CS_API_ORDER_CREATE and is part of FUGR CRM_CS_API_ORDER. This FM is acting in the same way as a "normal" BAPI although you can not find this FM in transaction BAPI.
    Hope this can help!
    Best regards, Johan
