Publishing to YouTube -

Having trouble trying to upload to YouTube for the first time. When I choose that option in iMovie, I am asked to add a YouTube account. When I select that, I see this message in my web browser.
"Third-party Applications
iMovie wants your permission!
The application iMovie would like permission to upload videos to your account.
If you want to grant permission, just click the button below.
App Name: iMovie
Permissions Requested: write"
I choose "Allow", then I receive this message:
"Please verify your email for this request to be granted."
Question: Where do I verify my email address? It is fine in my YouTube account settings, and I am not receiving any confirmation emails or anything like that.
Any thoughts?

Duh. I just went in and requested a confirmation email be sent to my email address on file and that took care of the problem.

  • IMovie 11 error when publishing to Youtube

Get the following error when attempting ro publish to Youtube.
"Unable to prepare project for publishing. The project could not be prepared for publishing because an error occurred. (-50)"
I have 71 Gb available from 500 GB (14%). I have also made sure all folders in the "Movie" folder have permissions set to Read/Write and verified and repaired my HDD.
I just upgraded to iMovie 11 in hopes the problem would correct itself, but it did not.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure you are using the right password for YouTube. A few months back, they had everyone link their YouTube account to a Google account. If so, you may need to use the YouTube username, but the Google account password.
Try going to the YouTube web page and uploading it there. The same password should work.

  • IMovie won't publish to YouTube

I've tried publishing this project 2 times now...it takes about 2 hours to actually publish, but after the progress bar has filled, nothing happens. I've uploaded several times before and it usually tells me that it has published to youtube but may take some time before it's there kind of message, and then it gives me a button to go view it. But now I'm not getting that at all an it's extremely frustrating to wait 2 hours for it to not be published. The only thing I have seen as far as "solutions" is to export it to desktop and then use youtubes uploader. That isn't a solution, just a workaround. I don't want to do that because the export time is 6 Hours, which is ridiculous when the share option is there..and has worked in the past. Someone please help.

  • Audio problems when publishing to YouTube with Adobe Captivate 5.5

I was using Audacity to record audio, then importing the audio into Adobe Captivate 5.5. One I recorded earlier, before my computer was changed, but published into YouTube after it was changed published fine. But now, after doing recordings with Audacity and within Captivate itself, on different computers and everything, I am getting no sound when publishing to YouTube. It sounds fine in Captivate, but I get zilch sound in YouTube. I have tried different computers to record and listen to the video, different microphones, different audio levels, but to no avail. What am I doing wrong?

    Hi there
    I'm a simpleton at heart.
Have you tried ensuring that the speaker icon isn't muted?

  • Publishing to YouTube Failed: The request timed out.

Why do I get "Publishing to YouTube Failed: The request timed out." when trying to load to YouTube. It doesn't happen all the time, just once in a while but it's been happening everytime for the past week!!
I am using the pre-set drop down feature - Share to YouTube.
    Help! Thanks.

Just trying the upload from the desktop: 'Uploading your video. 2616 minutes remaining.'
Am also doing another export using H264 to see if that is quicker. It's only 15mins of footage.

  • Publish to YouTube often crashes Captivate 5.5

I'm publishing a number of projects to YouTube.  Often this crashes Captivate 5.5 before it gets to the YouTube login prompt.  Sometimes trying again (without changing anything) works, but often it takes several tries.  I don't know why it works when it does or what might be causing the crash.
Has anyone else experienced this?  Any idea why or how to prevent it?
    Thanks!

I called Adobe Support and spoke to a very helpful gentleman by the name of Vishal Jaswal. He was wonderful in helping me understand what the issue may have been. <-- Best Adobe support experience to date!
    1. First, he created a new project in Captivate 5.5 (blank project) and uploaded to YouTube. It worked.
    2. Next, he copied half of my project into this blank project and uploaded. We waited patiently and lo and behold, it worked!
This tells me something is wrong with the preferences/settings in my project, so by copying and pasting my slides & audio into the new project, I was able to successfully publish to YouTube.
Try this approach to your project.

  • Publishing to YouTube Failed: Timed out!

    I need help.
I upload videos edited in FCPX to Youtube via the 'share' option, sometimes it works but other times it doesn't and an error message pops up saying 'Publishing to YouTube Failed: Timed Out'. In my video manager page on YT it say's 'failed to convert file' but I don't use anything differently on most of my videos. How can I stop this from happening?

    Hi Brian,
I gave up going direct from FCPX and instead went through Compressor by exportiing as an H.264 file. In Compressor I chose the YouTube files as the destination files and they went just as they should. Still peeved that I couldn't go directly from FCPX but it is just a small few steps to go through Compressor. If you don't have Compressor I would highly recommend you get it as it provides a huge range of files to convert to.
    Cheers!

  • Publishing to YouTube Failed: The operation couldn't be completed. No such file or directory

I am getting the following error in iMovie when I attempt to publish a video clip to YouTube: Publishing to YouTube Failed: The operation couldn’t be completed. No such file or directory. Any ideas about what is going on? I did not find anything directly related to this on general google search...

I'm not certain why this error is coming up, but I have almost 500 youtube videos on youtube, all created through the years with iMovie.
Here is what I find. The publishing tool through iMovie is very sketchy, and doesnt work well most the time. Plus you usually lose alot of quality. Go to File>Share>File. This will then save it as a file to wherever you want. Then when you go to upload on youtube, select this file.

  • Saving "Publish To Youtube" login details (4.1.1)?

    Hi there,
I wanted to use the "Actions" feature of Compressor to automatically publish to Youtube after encoding, and it does physically function, but I'm having a bit of an issue.
In both cases, whether I use the "Built-In" preset (which is stuck at 720p), or if I create a custom one (for 1080p videos and a custom encoding profile), once I close Compressor, the username and password fields are empty when I re-open Compressor for the next encode.
Is there a way to make the username and password "stick" in the application? The "Title", "Description", "Tags" and "Category" maintain their values, but Username and Password don't!
It is a pain because I use 2-step authentication for my Google account, so I use an application-specific password for Compressor and I've had to keep a note "Notes" to paste the password which is much less-than-ideal.

    Thanks Russ,
I actually called up Pro App Support and spent about an hour on the line with them, while we tried various different ways to make it work, including duplicating the "issue" / "missing feature" on their own copies of Compressor.
As far as I could tell, it's not possible in 4.1.1 but the engineer believed it should be possible, by way of a "remember my login info" checkbox in a similarly-implemented way to how it is in FCP X for consistency across the Pro Apps at the very least.
As far as uploading via FCP X or Compressor vs. the site's uploader for speed, I monitor my traffic via Little Snitch and I see it max out my connection (25Mbps) no matter which method I use. I just think it would be great if I could upload immediately after encoding. =)

  • Sharing video; unable to publish to YouTube and cannot compress enough to send as attachment in email

I have followed the instructions for sharing but I am unable to publish  3 minute video (and it is not in HD).  What am I missing?  I also cannot seem to compress it enough to send as an attachment in an email.  Any suggestions?

Export it in the size you wish and then, after you have the .mov file, you can easily upload it to Youtube. I can't imagine a 3 minute video that would be too large for Youtube to accept. Sometimes, iMovie (as well as iPhoto) seems to have problems "sharing" to other applications. I don't even try anymore. It is almost as easy to export the video and then upload it where ever you wish.

  • I don't have a publish to youtube  Captivate 5 for Mac

I need to publish a captivate video to youtube.  I saw an article on adobe's site that states there should be a youtube option.  I also states it applies to Adobe 5 and 5.5.   Is there a patch or update that I need to apply to enable the youtube publishing feature in Captivate 5?
    Thank you,

There's a YouTube button in 5.5 but not in 5.  I think you should report the documentation issue to Adobe.  I've found a few things on their doco that seem to indicate features apply to both versions when in fact its only 5.5 that has them.  They need to annotate the doco a bit better.

  • "Youtube reported an unknown error" everytime I try to publish to youtube

Lately, everytime I try to publish a video from iMovie to YouTube, I get an error message saying "YouTube reported an unknown error". I end up having to export the movie before I can manually upload it to YouTube, which is quite time consuming. Is there a fix for this issue? I know for me it started when google bought out YouTube.

    I think I fixed this.
Go to [https://account.services.mozilla.com/ your sync account], log in, and click clear your sync data.
Then click the Sync now button on the error message.
The error went away for me.

  • IMove '11 publishing to YouTube problem

I attempted several times to publish a movie to YouTube, but nothing shows up on my YouTube channel. I went to the troubleshooting forum on YouTube, where it was suggested I try three times. When that wasn't successful, it was then suggested that I export the files outside of iMovie, then try to publish it manually using a YouTube publishing resource. I found that when I exported it out of iMovie, it was in the m4v format. YouTube doesn't support m4v.

YouTube supports my m4v with no issues.
Most likely you have an issue with your youtube password. At some point recently, they switched over from using YouTube passwords to linking it with your Google password.

  • How to actually publish to YouTube from Adobe Media Encoder

    Hello,
Hope someone can help me with the setting for this.
I used to encode with Squeeze and they had a really simple way of publishing your encoded files automatically to YouTube. All you had to do was select the publishing option for YouTube, enter your YouTube account details (user name and password), and then hit verify for the software to check the path way was good and everything checked out.
This worked beautifully as all my work automatically appeared on my YouTube channel.
I  have now switched from Avid to the full Adobe Creative Suite.
When I encode in Media Encoder there is a section for FTP
Unfortunately, I have no idea what the complex terminology is. It wants to know what the port number for YouTube is. I have no idea. Or what server it needs to be uploaded too. Again, i haven't got a clue. How are you supposed to know the Remote Directory?
I know my YouTube account name and password, thats about it.
Can anyone out there tell me if and how I could use the FTP section in a preset to automatically upload to a YouTube account?
    Would be really grateful!
    Thanks in advance
    Nick

It currently is not possible to upload directly to YouTube with Premiere Pro or Media Encoder. This is something that has been requested in the past and we are considering for future releases.

  • Blank error message when publishing to YouTube or to mp4 in Captivate 6

I am trying to publish a captivate file to youtube and receive a blank error message box that just says Adobe Captivate with a big yellow exclamation point. I also tried publishing as media (mp4) and get the same error. Screen shot included below.
The Top Issues article (http://helpx.adobe.com/captivate/release-note/top-issues-captivate-6.html) for Adobe Captivate 6 includes the following note:
You may observe a blank dialog box or blank error prompts while publishing projects to YouTube. This issue occurs if the name of the Adobe Captivate installation folder contains unicode characters.
I tried renaming the file and the application so it didn't include numbers or underscores and then realized that even letters are considered unicode - so obviously that didn't work.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm having this same problem! I also tried to change the name of the application folder but this did not make a difference.
Also tried changing the resolution size of the project as recommended by someone and this did not make any difference.
I'm at a loss. Wish I could get my money back for this product!
My resolution of the project is 1145 X 730.
    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Marlyn
