Pulseaudio - how specify default port for analogue stereo?

Whenever I reboot, Pulseaudio defaults my Built-In Audio Analogue Stereo port specification to "Headphones (unplugged)" and I have to open pavucontrol to set it to "Line Out (unplugged)" [aside: I don't know why it say "unplugged" when it isn't].
Is there any way to set "Line Out" as the default?

Knute wrote:
Yes.
In your default.pa file you can use the set-default-source or set-default-sink and choose your line out.  You can set it either globally in /etc/pulse or per user in ~/.config/pulse.
The other option is that you can define what source or sink to use in your shell.
I use zsh so in my .zshrc file I have the following lines:
export PULSE_SINK=0
export PULSE_SOURCE=1
You can get the numbers that you need from pactl list sinks/sources short.
As you are looking for redirecting the sound, you want the sink.
HTH
I can see the basic sources via pactl list .., but I'm not being able to see where I can specify for a particular source (in this case the analog source) whether to use the headphone or line out.
In the info for Sink #1, I can see
Ports:
analog-output-lineout: Line Out (priority: 9900, not available)
analog-output-headphones: Headphones (priority: 9000, not available)
So I'm trying to figure out how to set the default port.

    Hi,
    >>>>>1. Is it necessary to keep both XI and SAP Logon in the same system?
    XI consists of two stacks - java and abap
    so to access XI you also need sapgui
    otherwise you won't be able o use XI
    >>>>2. Do we have any other alternative to find out the port?
    a) ask someone who installed this system
    b) if you know the system number of your XI
    then you can try: http://xiserver:5XX00
    where XX is the system number of XI

  • Can you specify the port for default services when installing OEG?

    Hi everyone,
    The default installation of OEG 11g uses 8090 port for management services, and 8080 for the virtualized services that you register in the gateway. After installation, you can change the ports by editing gateway's Profile Repository in Policy Studio. But is there a way to specify the port number before/during the installation?
    Thanks,
    Iris

    Hi -
    here are the steps to change the listening port (in 11.1.1.6)
    - Connect to OEG using Policy Studio
    - Click on "Edit Active Configuration"
    - Under "Services", find the default services, and you'll see a listener for port 8080 there. Right-click to edit this.
    - Change the port from 8080 to your desired port. Note that if you've installed the software and running it as a non-root user on Linux, then it will not have permission to bind to a low-number port (like port 80 for instance)
    - Now deploy your change (for 11.1.1.6 hit F6 or click on the "deploy" button which is towards the right of the toolbar in Policy Studio).
    - You may also choose to version your configuration at this point (click on "version" which is beside the "deploy" button and enter a comment about your version).
    Now verify that OEG is listening on your new port. You can see it bind to the new port by looking at the trace [Connect a browser to port 8090 on OEG, login as admin or another user who has rights to view the trace, then click on "Trace"].
    It's a usual practice to configure a new listener on SSL (e.g. on port 443) then to delete that pre-configured port 8080 listener, if you want to only receive traffic over SSL.

  • How to change port for discoverer server

    Hi All,
    Current default port is 7777 for discoverer server.
    how to change the port number ?
    Thank you.

    [Disco Configuration Guide|http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/B13918_03/maint.htm#i1035783]
    Hi,
    I would recommend using the Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer Configuration Guide appropriate for your implementation (e.g. for Oracle BI Discoverer 10g Release 2 for SPARC, click on the link above). Here is what the documentation says:
    To change the port on which Discoverer is deployed:
    -Start Oracle Application Server Control and display the System Components page (for more information, see Section 5.1.2, "How to start Application Server Control and display the System Components page").
    Display the Ports tab
    -In the rows containing the Oracle HTTP Server component (Type=Listen), select the edit icon in the Configure column to display the Server Properties page for that component.
    -Scroll down to the Listening Addresses and Ports area and change the port number in the Default Port field.
    -Click OK.
    -When you are prompted to restart the Oracle HTTP Server, click Yes.
    For more information about the Server Properties page in Application Server Control, see Application Server Control Help.
    Hint: If you change a Discoverer port number, make sure that any other OracleAS components that use that Discoverer port number are synchronized.
    I have not needed to do this, so I can not speak from experience. As always, try this in a test environment first.

  • How to change port for deployed web application on IAS10g(from 7778 to 80)

    I have deployed an application on IAS Application Server. The default link to my application is:
    http:/my_sever_ip_address:7778/my_app
    Can any one tell me how to change the port that my_app run on from 7778 to 80.
    So that the link to my_app will be:
    http:/my_sever_ip_address/my_app (run on default port 80)
    Very urgent!
    Thx

    You need to read the Oracle® Application Server 10g Administrator's Guide of your installation, which is also available online. In particular, for 9.0.4, you need to read the chapter Managing ports. Basically you need to change your web-cache listener port if web-cache is installed; otherwise you need to change Oracle HTTP Server Port.
    Also note tht port 80 requires extra steps since it is a restricted port.

  • How to Open Ports for HP Printers for all computers within the network (router)

    Hi,
    I have the EA6700 router and a few HP printers and Multi purpose printers/scanner/fax ...
    When installing the print drivers, they are ok.  Sending to printers are not a problem.  However, the problem comes with scanning.
    The HP Software ask to open a port for it...     How do I do that?   I checked, it seems other computers are affected by it too after changing to this new router.
    I read that it can be done on the "App and gaming" section at the Security page.  Do I go to the port forwarding section?   But it only forward to one computer.  that doesn't work...
     I'd like to open a port and a lot of other IPs can print and scan from it.
    Thanks

    Ports are not needed to be opened on the LAN side of the router for Printers and Scanners. I recommed that tiy contact hp for help and information regarding setup and configuration of those devices. Also the addition of a external Gb network switch for these devices is recommended as well. Would help eliminate any un-necessary router configuration or processing.

  • Need to specify default filename for SaveAs

    I am using the command app.execMenuItem("SaveAs"); in the click event of a button. Is there anyway that I can specify a default filename for the user? I do want the user to get the Save As window and the ability to change the name if possible.
    The form is generated by the RenderForm Java script, and the name being generated as a default for the SaveAs window is RenderForm.pdf
    Thanks,
    Velvet

    Chris, I think you missed this one.
    I think you want to change the name when calling app.SaveAs via javascript from the client not on the server. Since app.executeMenuItem("saveAs") will not take any parameters to suggest a file name. I think you will have to use doc.saveAs which will allow the name to be specified. This would require a trustedFunction which may or will not work unless you have known users. You will also need to prompt for the file name before making the call.
    Here is some untested code to get you started...
    You will need to create a trustedFunction (see AcroJS.pdf for details) ..
    saveFunc = app.trustedFunction(function (filename) {
    app.beginPriv();
    try {
    event.target.saveAs({cPath: filename});
    } catch (err) {
    app.alert("Error: " + err);
    app.endPriv();
    Code for your event...
    var suggestedName = "MyPDFName.pdf";
    // Note This will only work if you know where they will be saving it
    var cPathToSaveTo = "/c/temp/";
    var cResponse = app.response({
    cQuestion: "What name would you like to use for this PDF?",
    cTitle: "File Name",
    cDefault: suggestedName,
    cLabel: "File Name:" })
    if(cResponse != null)
    saveFunc(cPathToSaveTo + cResponse );
    Hope this helps.

  • Default port for sms

    I've developed a midlet which is initialized by sms with PushRegistry.
    the sms would contain both plain info and special info for the midlet (should the receiving device have one installed).
    my goal is that if the receiving device doe's not have the midlet installed, it would just receive a plain sms.
    my problem is that i dont know to which port the receiving device is listening to, therefor if the receiving device has the midlet installed, then everything is OK , but if not then nothing happens.
    is there a default port that all devices are listening to regardless to their manufacturer or operating system?
    because if so, i can let my midlet listen to the same one.
    thanks, eran

    What do you mean saying "default port"? Do you want to catch standart SMS from your midlet?
    You can not recieve standart SMS (from one mobile to another) in your java application, you can only send standart SMS.
    Could you post your code, that throwing this exception, here?

  • How to change Port for SAP Client on SAP R/3 Server?

    The defualt port for SAP GUI Client is 3200.
    How could I change the SAP GUI Client port to say 5222 instead of 3200?
    How can I view the full list of all ports required by SAP R/3?

    Freddy,
    I don't have the document handy but there was a document on service.sap.com/security which would give you a list of all the ports. SAP's wording is some thing like "specific ports are fixed and SAP does not support changing that port number".
    In case of GUI client and your example of 3200, as you know 00 is based on the fact that that is your instance number. You could change last two numbers by assigning a different instance number (and not 00).
    Thanks

  • Acrobat pro: how set default properties for arrow and line tool seperately?

    I have a problem with the 'comment and markup' tools in Adobe Acrobat Pro.
    I would like to change the defaults of some of the tools, eg the arrow and the line tool.
    This can be achieved by right-clicking on something drawn using the tool in question and then selecting 'properties' - or by selecting the tool and then press ctrl+E, wich opens a 'Callout Tool Properties', and then change what you want there. The latter option keeps the changes as defaults - the former offers a box to tick in the 'properties' dialogue that opens - or, you can right-click on the object again after having changed the properties, and then select 'Make Current Properties Default'.
    My Problem is now, that, apparently, you cannot choose and save default properties freely and for each tool. I woul like to have the default properties for the line tool set as the following:
    -line color: yellow
    -line thickness: 8pt
    -opacity: 60%
    and fot the arrow tool as this:
    -line color: red
    -line thickness: 1pt
    -opacity: 100%
    This all works fine as long as the program is open. As soon as I exit and start it again opening another document /the same one again, the arrow tool changes to
    -line color: yellow
    -opacity: 60%
    only the line thickness remains at 1pt.
    If I change the properties of the line to the ones I want for the arrow, the arrow properties remain unaltered if I close Acrobat Pro.
    Why do these properties interfere? Why is it "line color/thickness" in both? Why, then, do only the opacity and the color interfere, but not the thickness - even if it's the latter two properties that are bot called "line xxx"? Why does Acrobat not save all properties for these two shapes seperately - even IF the two shapes are both of a line-like kind?
    Is there a way to get around this?

    Trobbel - This indeed is puzzling behavior. Clicking 'Make Current Properties Default' should preserve the default  appearance for each. I don't have a solution, but merely a couple of suggestions:
    1) Make sure you have installed any available upgrade for your version of Acrobat Professional.
    2) Consider using the line tool exclusively - you can add an arrowhead and make one tool perform both tasks.
    Hope this helps. /rmbrown

    Try the following ...
    AEBSn - Port Mapping Setup
    To setup port mapping on an 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn), either connect to the AEBSn's wireless network or temporarily connect directly, using an Ethernet cable, to one of the LAN port of the AEBSn, and then use the AirPort Utility, in Manual Setup, to make these settings:
    1. Reserve a DHCP-provided IP address for the host device.
    Internet > DHCP tab
    o On the DHCP tab, click the "+" (Add) button to enter DHCP Reservations.
    o Description: <enter the desired description of the host device>
    o Reserve address by: MAC Address

    o MAC Address: <enter the MAC (what Apple calls Ethernet ID if you are using wired or AirPort ID if wireless) hardware address of the host computer>
    o IPv4 Address: <enter the desired IP address>
    o Click Done.
    2. Setup Port Mapping on the AEBSn.
    Advanced > Port Mapping tab
    o Click the "+" (Add) button

  • How to change default ports for task flow application?

    I deploy a task form with the following hwtaskflow.xml information:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8'?>
    <hwTaskFlows xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bpel/workflow/hwTaskFlowProperties">
    <ApplicationName>worklist</ApplicationName>
    <LookupType>LOCAL</LookupType>
    <TaskFlowDeploy>false</TaskFlowDeploy>
    <TaskFlowServer>
    *<hostName/>*
    *<httpPort/>*
    *<httpsPort/>*
    </TaskFlowServer>
    <hwTaskFlow>
    <WorkflowName>ApproverHumanTask</WorkflowName>
    <TaskDefinitionNamespace>http://xmlns.oracle.com/MyApp/MyComposite/MyTask</TaskDefinitionNamespace>
    <TaskFlowId>MyTask_TaskFlow</TaskFlowId>
    <TaskFlowFileName>WEB-INF/MyTask_TaskFlow.xml</TaskFlowFileName>
    </hwTaskFlow>
    </hwTaskFlows>
    When I deploy the form then check the task URI in EM I see
    Host name: server host name
    HTTP port: 80
    HTTPS port: 443
    I know I can override these ports in the hwtaskflow but what if I want HTTPS port left blank? We don't have HTTPS active on our server. Another server in our environment only populates the HTTP port (HTTPS port is left blank) but I'm puzzled why the different behavior.
    Can anyone tell me either how to specify a "blank" HTTPS port in the hwtaskflow or, preferably, how to change the server configuration so that HTTPS port is not filled in when I deploy the task form? We are wanting a completely automated deployment and presently we have to manually remove the HTTPS port via EM after deploying. Argh!

    Jon,
    May be you already figured out the solution nevertheless i will answer your questions.
    1. Turning off the https port - give value as 0 for httpsPort in your hwtaskflow.xml.
    Second reason why your custom hwtaskflow is not getting picked up is you have set the TaskFlowDeploy as false.
    If you set this as true , and specify your cluster address you should be all set.
    for eg : - your cluster host address is somename.cluster.com with only http configured at port 80 lets assume.
    Then your hwtaskflow should look like this
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8'?>
    <hwTaskFlows xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bpel/workflow/hwTaskFlowProperties">
    <ApplicationName>worklist</ApplicationName>
    <LookupType>LOCAL</LookupType>
    <TaskFlowDeploy>true</TaskFlowDeploy>
    <TaskFlowServer>
    <hostName>somename.cluster.com</hostName>
    <httpPort>80</httpPort>
    <httpsPort>0</httpsPort>
    </TaskFlowServer>
    <hwTaskFlow>
    <WorkflowName>LeaveRequestTask</WorkflowName>
    <TaskDefinitionNamespace>http://xmlns.oracle.com/BuildApplication/BuildProject/LeaveRequestTask</TaskDefinitionNamespace>
    <TaskFlowId>LeaveRequestTask_TaskFlow</TaskFlowId>
    <TaskFlowFileName>WEB-INF/LeaveRequestTask_TaskFlow.xml</TaskFlowFileName>
    </hwTaskFlow>
    </hwTaskFlows>
    This will automatically pick up the values on deployment , other play you can configure this is in your em console as well.

  • How to open a non-default port for sftp?

    My MacMini at work used to listen on port 12345 for sFTP for close to 9 months but then something (probably a power cut...) messed all things Remote up with the office setup. So I tried to reset things. It didn't work. What do you think I'm doing wrong? The MacMini is running Tiger (10.4.10). Here's what I've done so far:
    1. Drilled a hole for port 12345 on my Thomson (Alcatel SpeedTouch 780) modem/router, and disabled its Firewall and Parental Controls;
    2. In System Prefs>Sharing>Firewall I have enabled the Firewall after making sure I've added a service for port 12345;
    3. Also in System Prefs I've enabled Remote Login, to make sure the sftp daemon is running;
    4. Back on the Thomson modem/router, I've set up a service to forward port 12345 of the router to port 12345 of my MacMini (I selected it by clicking on its MAC address in the appropriate drop down menu in the modem/router config page).
    STILL: when I try to sftp to my MacMini from outside the office, I get a timeout error. Back at the MacMini, I run Network Utility and ask it to check at IP (the MacMini IP) for ports 12345 to 12345, and it doesn't report it as 'open' (it does for port 22).
    I am bummed. What am I missing? I am also 100 miles away from the office on any given day, so it's not exactly easy to pop over and try various troubleshooting things. I have to kill this once and for all next I'm at the office, some time in the weekend!
    As always, thanks, people.
    < Edited by Host >

    It sounds to me like the port forwarding is setup, so that's not the issue.
    The issue is how to change sshd to listen on port 12345 rather than port 22. However, I'm not sure that you need to.
    If you're trying to hide your server from the public, why not just setup your port forwarding to forward publicIP:12345 to privateIP:22.
    That way you connect to port 12345 from your remote location, but don't have to change the server configuration at all.
    The only reason why this wouldn't work would be if your router doesn't support different internal and external ports (e.g. it always maps to the same internal port number).
    If that's the case then you need to change launchd to listen on port 12345. How you do that depends on whether you want to move the entire SSH service to port 12345, or whether you want SSH to support 22 and 12345 at the same time.
    If the former, just edit /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ssh.plist and change the lines:
    <key>SockServiceName</key>
    <string>ssh</string>
    to:
    <key>SockServiceName</key>
    <string>italk</string>
    (italk is the registered service for port 12345).
    Then either reboot or unload/reload the ssh.plist to make the change active.
    If you want ssh to run on both port 22 and 12345 then you should copy /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ssh.plist to /Library/LaunchDaemons/ssh-12345.plist then make three changes to the new .plist file:
    First, change the <Label> parameter to something unique (i.e. not 'com.openssh.sshd').
    Second, remove the <Bonjour> array
    Third, edit the SockServiceName as indicated above.
    Once you've done that, reboot and you should be set.
