Purchasing from itunes:

When I try and purchase from itunes I receive the following message:
Your Purchase Could Not Be Completed
For assistance, contact iTunes Support at www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww/.
I have contacted Apple support on 4 occassions and each time they tell me the account should now work after 30 mins. Which it does and then a couple of days later the same issue occurrs. this has now been happening since the middle of December.
I am at the end of my teather with this and spent countless hours trying to get it resolved bu to no avail. Apple support seem completely clueless on how to resolve this issue permanantly and to make things worse the support process is totally inconsistent. Today, in trying to contact Apple support I was given the option to talk to somone right away (the other day I was only given the option to 'schedule a call', which takes min 48 hours), I received the automated call back almost immediately only to be pushed through a number of prompts and be told the call center is now closed!
I like many others have invested heavily in apple products (imac, macboook, iphone, apple tv, ipad...). However the value for me is the ecosystem that apple provide with its itunes product. Ive been left completely infuriated by the issues I'm experiencing and the complete lack of understanding or support from Apple.
It seems I now have no other choice but to seek an alternative (e.g. the google route) and if anyone is experiencing the same level of issues I am I'm sure I will be the first of many.
Its a real shame as until recently I thought this was an excellent product. Is there anyone else who is experiencing a sililar issue or is able to comment on the root cause of this problem?
