Purchasing - Set Up Table in source system - LBWG

Hi all,
Currently we are extracting Purchasing data into BI7, and have a large volume already which has been delta'd across.
We need to apply some notes to the Source System which involve deleting the data out of the set-up table, trnx LBWG.
Can anyone tell me what the impact of this will have on the deltas being run in BI7...and what steps if any I would need to take?
Thanks, Lee

Hi Lee,
Setting up of set up table is one time activity in general scenario.
Once setup table data population is done , load data into BW through initialization option . If this init request gets in to status "Green" , then on you dont need to refer to data in setup table .
As per the wish / space constraint one may keep / delete the setup table data.

    Hi Experts ,
I am new to FDMEE .
I am loading data from Oracle RDBMS to Essbase/Planning using Open Interface Adapter , as per the steps mentioned in the Erpi_admin guide , i have populated the AIF_OPEN_INTERFACE table with data and configured FDM stuffs ( Mappings , Import Format , Location , Data Rule etc ) . During IMPORT getting the error "

  • Purchasing set up table

    hello,
i am customizing the lo cockpit for purchasing in the following datasources:
    2lis_02_hdr
    2lis_02_itm
    2lis_02_scl
the problem lies when i am filling the set up table using oli3bw. i get the following message:
"DataSource 2LIS_02_HDR contains data still to be transferred"
this activity was performed 3 days back & that point of time i had given the next day as the termination date.
can anyone help me out on this issue?
any help would be greatly appreciated.

"DataSource 2LIS_02_HDR contains data still to be transferred"
this means that there is data in the update queue or delta queue for this extractor. if your in production follow the exact guidelines that you can find on this forum. you have to do this in the weekend. stop the v3 update job (run it one last time manually), extract your delta twice and transport the modifications.
if you don't care too much about your data cause you have to reinit anyway, just kill the delta queue

  • ODI 12c - Set staging table on source side

    Hello All,
In ODI 12c, is there any default options I can choose if I want Staging Table (C$ Table -EXPRESSION_AP) be created on Source DB instead of Target DB?
Or is it possible to skip creating the staging table with default IKM/LKM?
    Thanks in advance!

In 12c the concept of specifying where to execute expressions has changed somewhat. You now have hints which ODI may override internally if there is a better execution plan.
The following article provides a more detailed overview on execution hints, which by default are set to "No hint"

  • Master data coming from which particular table of source system

    Hi,
my requirement is i have a master data (ABC) coming from a source sytem XYZ
there is an attribute (L) in my master data. Now i want to know from which table in my source sytem the data pretaining to attribute L is coming up.
    I m using BW 3-5 system
Is there a way through which i can directly find out abt the same.
    thanks

    Hi,
Is this standard Master data or Generic one, if it is customised one then you can find the same in customer exit of ECC system,
go to tcode CMOD in ECC system, there willbe an project defined for the BW system, in that get an exact component, and check for the custom code for your masterdat, there you will be in a position to find out from where the data is being extracted.
if you are good at abap you can debug it via RSA3 , else get an help of an abaper to find it out.
if it is standard , then you can search in SDN, but for for better reuslts, you can go to RSO2 and give the datasource name of that master data and clik on display you, will get an display in the bottom saying that this data source using FM 'XXXXXXX', copy that FM name and try to give it in SE37 and debug it via RSA3 for better results.

  • Regarding set up table filling in R3 prod system

    Hi Expert,
When I fill set-up table for Billing LIS data-source . It is taking lot of time, All though  Data-volume is very less (Around 1 Lakh) .
It is taken almost 50000 sec and still running .
    Please help.
    Thanks
    Devesh Varshney

    Hi,
Prod system will be busy during your set up tables filling time.
Try to check ECC system load burden and fill set up tables data when system have required free application servers(SM50/51). Even try to fill set up tables in background.
if possible, use selections and fill set up tables.
    Thanks.

  • DB connect source system creation in BI

    Hi,
I would like to create a DB connect source system to an external MSSQL 2005 database in RSA1.
The external MSSQL 2005 database is setup using Windows Authentication mode.
Question: Which user actually should I specify when creating the source system in RSA1? or which user should I assign the db_ddladmin role in the external MSSQL database?
    Many thanks,
    YJ.

    Hi,
Please note the following with regard to the user:
To avoid problems loading data, proceed as follows:
    1. Create a special login for the extraction. You should add this login to the db_ddladmin database role in the
corresponding database. This generates a similar DB user at database level. The user you use must have the 'CREATE VIEW'
authorization at least.  This is contained in the role mentioned above.
    2. For the extraction, you should only use DB views that were  created under this DB user. (refer also to type conversion, naming
    convention and so on)
    3. Assign the necessary authorizations (SELECT at least) to the  selected user in the source tables, or the columns of these tables.
    4. Use the specially created login in the logon information when you set up the DB source system in BW.
You will find much more detailed information on how to setup the connection and known problems and issues in the
    attached note 512739.

  • Source system connection for DB connect.

    hi experts
presently the data is available in sql server(legacy system).so we have to extract data from sql server to bw server through DBconnect.tell me the procedure for how to connect sql server to BW server through DB connect.

    hi Suresh,
there is pdf 'Transferring Data with DB Connect' https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/2f0fea94-0501-0010-829c-d6b5c2ae5e40
    and bear in mind ...
    1. You have to create a special login for the extraction.
You should add this login to the db_ddladmin database role in the corresponding database. This generates a similar DB user at database level. The user you use must have the 'CREATE VIEW' authorization at least. This is contained in the mentioned role.
    2. For the extraction, you should only use DB views that were created under this DB user. (See also type conversion, naming convention, and so on).
    3. The selected user should be granted the required authorizations (SELECT at least) on the source tables, or on the columns of these tables.
    4. The especially created login is to be used in the logon information when you are setting up the DB source system in BW.
    hope this helps.

  • Transport managment, source system changed in import

    Hi all,
i faced with the need to change the source system in transport management. I mean, dev source system to assign a different test system source. now is the following:
InfoPackage ZPAK_4MSK400H4M9FGMEKV9ZGDSN4M, source system LGDCLNT300 changed by source system LGTCLNT010 in import (tr STMS).
I'm looking for opportunities to change the target source systems LGPCLNT010.
Where can I find a setting to change the source system during the import?
    Thnx.
PS LGPCLNT010 source system already exists in test. only need to assign LGDCLNT300 (DEV) -> LGPCLNT010 (TEST).

    Hi,
The entries  are maintained in table RSLOGSYSMAP. Goto SM30 put the table name and click on maintain.
Or simply goto transport connection from RSA1 and click on "Conversion button" on tool bar.

  • Regarding SET UP table filling

    Hi All
    I have a small doubt,
Why do we need to fill the set up table when there is not user activity in the source system?
Is this going to lock the application tables like vbak, vbap, vbuk etc,.,?
what happends if i run the statistical run when the users are active in the system?
I want to do set up fill for orders starting from 2005 to July 2009.
    When is the best time?
    regards

  • We would like to test old deltas from the source system( copied to new)

    Hi Gurus,
    The scenario is
They will make a DB copy of the Prod system onto a QA system, the Copied system will have
its system ID changed(SID) to a new one.
There will be deltas available in the RSA7, as this is a copy of the  3 weeks old prod
system. Now the delta's will be available on the Copied system pointing to the BW Prod system.
We would like to test these delta's to BW Dev. why we would like to do the delta's to the
BW dev system is to check whether we can do system copies without clearing the delta's on
    the source system.
After the system copy we will do all the activities necessary to reflect the system changes
    a. Like BDLS, We20, we21,ALE checks, RFCDES, RSLOGSYSDEST, RSBASIDOC, etc on the source system to
reflect the changes of the BW Prod system to BW Dev system.
    b. Likewise, we will perform all the above activities on the BW dev system by changing the
existing source system to the new source system( performing BDLS,we0, we21, etc)to reflect
the new Source system with the new (SID).
    c. We will check the source system connection
    d. Replicate the datasources on the new source system
    e. Activate the Transfer rules for the new source system.
Now for us to do delta's from the new source system to the Bw dev system we need to change
underlying tables in source system to point the delta's, arfc TID's etc to the BW dev system.
We can change the entries in the TRFCQOUT, ARFCCSTATE, ARFCDATA tables to point the LUW's and
destination to the BW dev system.
What I presume is if we run the BDLS on the Copied system to change the BW prod system to BW
and also  the underlying Tables for the LUW's and etc will still be pointing to BW Dev. I would
like to know if this is the case .
Lastly, appreciate if anyone can say if this is possible to do without having to clear the
BW delta queue on the source system.

    Hi Ramesh,
Appreciate a lot for your response, but i would like to know if we can reflect the entries in table RSSDLINIT(Last Valid Initializations to an OLTP Source) and RSSDLINITSEL(Last Valid Initializations to an OLTP Source)  in the BW system on the copied source system
tables ROOSPRMSC(Control Parameter Per DataSource Channel), ROOSPRMSF(Control Parameter Per DataSource Channel) by executing the ABAP program RSSM_OLTP_INIT_DELTA_UPDATE after we do the BDLS conversion on the new copied source system.
After the BDLS conversion I reckon the entries in the RSA7 queue, ARFCCSTATE, TRFCQOUT tables willl reflect the BW Development system instead of the BW Production system isnt it.
    response much appreciated.

  • Homegeneouscopy  R3load procedure generated more tables on target system

    Hi All
My source system is 46C SR2 /oracle 817/HP_UX PARISC and
    Target System is 46CSR2 /Oracle 10202/HPUX IA
I used R3load procedure to export database from source system and completed import successfully into target system without any problem. The new system is up and running.
My Source system has total 23193 tables but the target system has 23771 tables and source system has 27011 indexes and the target system has 27701 indexes.
Can someone tell me why there are additional tables and indexes in my Target system. Is it due to oracle 10g.
    Your help will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Amit

    Markus,
I got this information from DB02 first screen where it shows number of tables and indexes.
Actually I used r3load procedure to export data from source and prepared target system also by r3load,
The source systems had less tables but the target got more.I have upgraded the target system to ecc6
and working fine.UAT completed and gone live.
Auditors have raised the question .
Let me know if there is any way to find this difference of tables though target is now ECC6.
    Thanks
    Amit

    Hi SUSUSU,
The dump is related to temp table space issue.check the space for PSATEMP table.
Use tcode DB02 to check the table spaces, in the tree diaplayed on you left. try to see the % used for your ODS & FACT tablespaces. Incase the % are too high like 99% etc, get in touch with you BASIS team.
Request your basis team to increase the PSATEMP table space.
    Or
Decrease the data packet size and run the info package.
to decreae the packet size -- in the IP screen menu --> schedular -->Datasource setting for sending data --> there change the parameter Maximum size of a data packet in kByte.
down you can find the area to enter the data packet size .
for ex if it is 20000 decrease it to 10000 and run the info package
