Purchasing warranty?

Is it possible to purchase a warranty for Iphone 5 through Apple even if you didn't purchase the product through apple? Purchased through ATT- trying to just do some price shopping I guess. How much does the warranty cost through Apple?

If you're in the US, you can purchase AppleCare+ up to 30 days after the iPhone was purchased.  You will need to bring your phone to Apple for inspection.
Look at Apple's website for more information.

FaceTime is not  available on devices purchased or used in certain countries, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. This is by government decree. The FaceTime app can't be downloaded or installed on these iPads.

  • Can I purchase warranty, or extended warranty for the used iPad I purchased?

I've just purchased an iPad 3g that is in pristine - like new condition, works beautifully and has no flaws of ANY kind.
Do I have the option to purchase the warranty? or extended warranty?
Or does any of the original warranty transfer to me?
(I did already go to the Apple website and register the product via serial number under my name.)
    Thanks!
    -Love it by the way!

If you live in the U.S.... the device is covered under the warranty for one year from the date of purchase - no matter who owns it. I would make sure that I had the original receipt for the purchase of the iPad just so that you can document the original purchase. You cannot buy an AppleCare+ extended warranty now - if you live in the U.S.
However, there seems to be some confusion as to whether you can still purchase the old Apple Care warranty in the U.S. it is no longer listed in the Apple Online Store. You would have to call Apple to find out for sure.
If the owner has the AppleCare+ extended warranty, it can be transferred to you according to these terms.
    10. Transfer of Plan
Subject to the restrictions set forth below, you may make a one-time permanent transfer of all of your rights under the Plan to another party, provided that: (a) the transfer includes the original proof of purchase, the Plan's Confirmation and all of the Plan's printed materials and these Terms and Conditions; (b) you notify Apple of the transfer by sending, faxing or e-mailing notice of transfer to Apple Inc., ATTN: Agreement Administration, MS: 217-AC, 2511 Laguna Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95758, U.S., fax number 916- 405-3655 or [email protected], respectively, and (c) the party receiving the Plan accepts the terms and conditions of the Plan. When notifying Apple of the transfer of the Plan, you must provide the Plan Agreement Number, the serial number of the Covered iPad being transferred, and the name, address, telephone number and email address of the new owner.

  • Why are the phone sales lying to customers telling them they will get a new phone under the warranty

This is my story from Store 1513 2441 North Maize Rd Wichita, KS 67205 Why are the cell phone sales people lying to customers by telling them they will get a brand new replacement phone under the purchased warranty when they really have to wait to be sent a refurbished phone? This seams like a scam! I have been told we would get a brand new phone on 3 separate contract renewals in the last 6 months if there ever was a problem, and now that I have a problem they say no you have to wait for a refurb in the mail? Guess you CEO will be getting an earful!

    Hello WilliamAnderson,
Our Geek Squad protection I can assure you is not a scam but I understand why you would feel that way considering the circumstances. Our Rapid Exchange process, with certain mobile devices covered under Geek Squad Protection, “utilizes refurbished products of like kind and quality and of comparable performance”.  I apologize for the confusion this has caused you after you invested in that protection plan.
I realize this is not what you were led to believe in the store and I would like to reach out to the Wichita, KS store (1513) to pass along this feedback. I will be sending you a private message to get some more contact information from you; to check your private messages, click on the envelope in the upper right-hand corner while you are logged into the forums.

  • Petition: Extend the 90 day Parts & Labor Warranty of the MP3 Players to 1 Year Inste

I wonder why Creative's warranty plan for parts and labor is only 90 days then 9 months on parts after that. Why do we have to pay for labor after the 90 days? Don't forget that not only we have to pay for labor but shipping charges as well.
Other companies like iRi'ver and iPod don't have this 90 day period. Their warranty is only year but it covers the whole labor and parts fee.
Below is some warranty information taken from Creative, iRi'ver, and iPod sites. I took out some of the information and left out the important parts.
    From the Creative site
During the Warranty Period (as provided below), Creative will repair, or replace, at Creative's sole option, any defecti've parts or any parts that will not properly operate for their intended purpose with new or refurbished parts if such repair or replacement is needed.
    a) The limited warranty for the Product extends for twelve (2) months from the date of your purchase (?Warranty Period?). The warranty period will be extended by each whole day that the Product is out of Your possession for repair under this warranty.
    b) Creative will pay for the labor charges incurred by Creative in repairing or replacing the defecti've parts during three (3) months from the date of your purchase.
    From the iRi'ver site
The limited warranty is provided to the original owner only and is not transferable. Proof of purchase will be required for any limited warranty on iri'ver America products. iri'ver America's warranty covers only those defects which arise as a result of normal use of the product...
iri'ver America Product Duration of Limited Warranty
    player console (new) year
player console ("refurbished", "reconditioned", or "factory renewed") 90 days
    Accessories 90 Days.
    From the iPod site
Apple Computer, Inc. ("Apple") warrants the iPod and iSight product against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one () year from the date of original purchase ("Warranty Period").
If a defect arises and a valid claim is received by Apple after the first one hundred and eighty (80) days of the Warranty Period, a shipping and handling charge will apply to any repair or exchange of the product undertaken by Apple.
Apple warrants replacement products or parts provided under this warranty against defects in materials and workmanship from the date of the replacement or repair for ninety (90) days or for the remaining portion of the original product's warranty, whichever provides longer coverage for you. When a product or part is exchanged, any replacement item becomes your property and the replaced item becomes Apple's property. When a refund is given, your product becomes Apple's property.

There are a lot of factors involved in warranties. I'm going to close this topic just for now, and come back to it later today (or in a few days at the most).

  • Does the ipad warranty include accessories?

So basically i bought an iPad Air in March (5 months ago) and the plug has just stopped working, the lead still works but is very slow with others plugs, I'm assuming I get some warrenty, if so how long? And would this cover the plug or just the actual ipad? Thanks

The Warranty covers the iPad as well as any included accessories for the same length of time.  That would mean the charger and the cable are covered by the same 1 year warranty as the iPad.

  • Will Apple replace a faulty lightning cable that was purchased separate from iPhone?

I bought an iPhone 5 along with a spare lightning cable from Apple's website in September. Since then BOTH lightning cables have failed, and there is NO sign of physical damage or abuse on either one. I called AppleCare, and they agreed to replace the one that came with the iPhone, but the senior advisor I spoke with rudely told me the one that was bought "separately" for $19 cannot be replaced, nor refund issued. I thought that it would be covered under manufacture's warranty. I've also heard rumours that if you take a faulty accessory to a genius bar they will gladly swap it out for a new one. Only problem is I don't live near an Apple Store. I was thinking about calling AppleCare back and see if I don't have better luck with a different rep. Any thoughts on this?

    From Apple's warranty page.
Your Apple-branded hardware product is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the date of original retail purchase ("Warranty Period"). If a defect arises during the Warranty Period, Apple, at its option and to the extent permitted by law will (1) repair the product at no charge using new parts or parts that are equivalent to new in performance and reliability, (2) exchange the product with a functionally equivalent product that is new or equivalent to new in performance and reliability, or (3) refund the original purchase price. This warranty excludes damage resulting from abuse, accident, modifications or other causes that are not defects in materials and workmanship.
If you choose to call applecare, they can arrange to ship you a replacement, but you will have to agree to a "hold" on a credit card until the defective cable is received back to the factory.

  • Is my HP Thin Client still under warranty after a fall

At our facility, we have approximately 50 thin clients in use on the production floor. We recently had one fall 4 Ft. Now it will not get past the boot screen. I can enter into the BIOS setup, but when I exit, it still won't boot.
    Will my warranty cover this?

    Hello BCraft,
Here is a link to HP Warranty information
HP Products - Supplemental Information to Warranty Statements for HP Products
"The warranty does not protect against accidental damage, loss, acts of nature, or any other event that did not originate during the manufacture of the product."
Often you can purchase warranty agreements that have clauses that do support accidental damage and may be part of some of the Care Pack agreements.
You may want to review what warranty package you have purchased with the thin clients and see if accidental damage is covered.

  • Apple Online Store Warranty

    Hello!
On Nov 30th I ordered an iPhone 6, it has been shipped 2 days ago and I will probably receive it on Wednesday. My question is: which will be the first day of warranty? The day of shipping or the day of delivery?
If I'm not opening it until Christmas, can I ask AppleCare to start the warranty on Dec 25th?
    Thank you!

The 12 month  warranty starts on the invoice date .There  is it no deviation

  • Issues regarding a purchase of Iphone 6 from Canada and taking to India

    Hi!
I am a resident of india.
I am currently in Calgary, Canada till 12th October and planning to buy iphone 6 space Grey (16GB) unlocked from here because in India it won't be launched before November for sure. (I can't wait till then).
Will there be any problem in using it with indian carriers considering signal band or any other specification.
And what about the Warranty related issues? Can it be repaired in India under warranty if some hardware or software problem comes up?
If not, then is it possible to purchase warranty in India from apple by paying some amount?
And even if this is not possible, does Apple store in India repairs iphone (in warranty) by billing the exact cost required to repair?
How likely can a software or hardware problem can come up?
Note : I have no prior experiance with apple and this is the first iphone I'll be buying.
Thanks in advance fr any reply.

Hard to tell. But Apple iPhones are usually very good. But problems do crop up now and then.

  • P2415Q - No display over DVI, HDMI. No menu. Worked perfectly for one month over display port

Reason Line: Dell P2415Q. After one month working perfectly over display port, no display on screen over Display Port or HDMI, no response to menu buttons, backlight and power LED on but no image on screen.
    Problem Description
The monitor worked out of the box for one month using the display port to mini display port cable provided with the monitor, which was plugged into my XFX 7970 and 7950 graphics cards. It supported 4K at 60Hz and was exceptional for photos, videos and games. On Wednesday the monitor stopped working, no image or menu is displayed on the monitor. I plugged in my old monitor to help diagnose via DVI from the same graphics card. When I press the power button on the Dell P2415Q monitor, the power LED lights up and the computer detects the monitor (as shown in the windows screen resolution menu). It sets it as a secondary display but the monitor remains black, I can see the power LED and backlight is on. No power saving mode popup appears on the monitor, when I press the menu buttons there is no response from the screen, it remains black. I repeated with a HDMI cable the same issue occurs with no response or image. I repeated and disabled crossfire (which allows the graphics cards to function independently) and tried the second graphics card with no response. I tested the HDMI cable I used on my old LG monitor, it works well. I have tried connecting a laptop over HDMI to the monitor too, with no response from the monitor. I have exhausted all the tests I can think of, I presume I will have to return the monitor for repair or replacement under warranty. A question to the dell rep and community - is there anything else I can try / do to get it working?
    Monitor / Computer Details
    Monitor service tag: <removed>
Computer: Non-Dell, self build about 2 years ago. Ivy Bridge i5, Gigabyte Sniper Motherboard, 16GB RAM, XFX 7970 GPU and XFGX 7950 GPU in crossfire, 256GB SSD, 860W Corsair AX power supply (860W on 12V rails). Windows 7, 64-bit. (Secondary Monitor LG D2342).
Operating System: Windows 7, 64 Bit.
Video Card: XFX 7970 and XFX 7950 in Crossfire (tested separately, monitor produces fault with both).
Video Card Driver: 14.12 AMD Catalyst Driver (rolled back to older driver, monitor still produces fault).
Video Card Output Ports: Tested with miniDP and HDMI on both cards, with crossfire enabled and disabled. Monitor still produces fault.
Video Card Cable: miniDP to DP cable provided with monitor. HDMI cable, tested with alternate monitor to confirm it functions correctly.
Monitor Menu Button: Non responsive, when power is turned on the computer successfully detects the Dell P2415Q monitor, the backlight turns on but no image appear on the screen. Pressing the menu buttons yields no result - menu does not appear on the screen. Power LED is on.
Monitor Purchase: Purchased from Overclockers.co.uk March 2015.

    * Turn the monitor off
    * Disconnect all cables from the monitor including the power cable
    * Press the monitor power button in for 15 seconds
    * Reconnect the monitor cables and re-test. If still no go, your only option is to get it exchanged per the purchased warranty
    * But first the service tag must be transferred into your name using this form
