Pxi-4071 aux I/O how to output a control signal?

HI, I am working on Pxi-4071 dmm card. I want to use aux I/O to out put a control signal for a relay on/off. Technically, I want to know how to do it with labview. Is any examples to start?

Hello Liming,
The DMM is capable of sending TTL triggers out on both the PXI_Trig lines and on the AUX connector on the front connection. These signals are intended for controlling National Instruments switch modules and not powering/closing third party relays.
If you're looking to control a National Instruments Switch there are example programs that demonstrate synchronous scanning with DMMs and Switches. To locate these examples open LabVIEW and go to Help» Find Exampled... Then Navigate to Hardware Input and Output» Modular Instruments» NI-Switch (Switches).

I am a bit lost...
We make the acquisition of voltage (sine wave, 3Hz) which I simulated by a waveform generation in my VI. We want to convert this analog signal to a TTL and output it with a multifunction DAQ (6230).
I only used Analog to Digital.vi and DAQmx write.vi and I can't get it to work... I get a TTL which is not 3Hz and only If I input a frequency like 3.07 and not 3.00 !!
Did I forget something ?

In your vi, you don't have DAQmx Timing setup. I don't know what the default value is. But the timing determines how fast the DAQ will output values. If not set correctly, you may see slight change in the output frequency. Another thing is that the timing is based on a master clock, like 50MHz. The clock gets divided down until it gets near the desired setting. So it may not be able to achieve 3KHz exactly. If you are getting 3.07KHz, this may be why. I don't know if there is anything you can do about it. Try using the timing vi and setting different sample rates.

How to output a digital signal on negative slope of the clock?

I need to output a finite length of the digital pulse which will start on demand at the negative slope of the imported (or exported) clock.
I am trying to get the clock exported or imported, but in no case I can trigger outputting the signal on the negative slope.
What is the trick?

Which device are you using to generate your digital signal. What is the clock source? Can you attach your vi? Normally, there is a DAQ function to configure the trigger where you choose the trigger source and the trigger slope (rising or falling), which would be falling for a negative slope.

How to acquire data through multiple channels in parallel using PXI 6070 E, PXI 4071 and LabVIEW?

Hi,
I am using NI LabVIEW, NI PXI 4071, and NI PXI 6070E to measure current through a variable resistance. Now, I am using one channel from SCB-68, but I want to add another channel in parallel so that I can have two resistors instead of one that I cam measure current through them.
I have attached a Pdf file showing the setup for hardware in use and LabVIEW code also.
Can anyone look at these files and give me guide lines or ideas that can help me resolving this issue, please.

Your 4071 can only do one measurement at a time. Your DAQ cannot measure resistance either nor has it got any analogue inputs.
However, you could use a multiplexer and multiplex your 4071 DMM. This wont give you simultaneous measurements but can acquire data one after the other, the speed is obviously dependent on the multiplexer you choose!

Pxi-4071 constant current

We use 4110 voltage source for current measurements on pxi-4071. We supply high-ohm (1.5 GigaOhm) resistor with few volts and measure current on 4071. All cables are shielded on ground of 4110 voltage source, but cables are about 5 meters long. What can be reason for constant current 5 nA at zero supply voltage? We don't know whether it software or hardware problem, and i already asked this question in LabView forum, autozero enabled in max doesn't help. Could be a reason bad shielding of ground in pxi-4110 voltage source

I would focus on the hardware side initially. I would try the following steps.
1) Make a current measurement on the 4071 with the inputs open to see if there is an offset. If so we should look into the DMM configuration.
2) Connect your cabling and/or resistor without the 4110. If this adds the offset then it seems to be shielding/noise related.
3) Connect the cabling and/or resistor to the 4110 with the output disabled. If this adds the offset then it could be ground related or also related to an offset in the 4110 output.

Setting Input Resistance on the PXI-4071

The specifications for the PXI-4071 DMM indicate that the input resistance can be chosen as either 10 MOhm or 10 GOhm for the 100 mV, 1 V, and 10 V ranges. I see where this can be input on the instrument soft panel, but I have been unable to locate how to configure the input resistance when using the DMM in a VI. Suggestions?

Measure Power using Labview and two PXI-4071 DMMs

Hello,
I am trying to make a simple VI. I am measuring input AC voltage and Current using two PXI-4071 DMMs. I want to Calculate Power and Power Factor. I am able to read the voltage and current fine. I just dont know how to calculate the power and power factor. Im looking for real power not watt*amps. Please Help.

How to output sound to RCA cables?

I give up! I can't for the life of me figure out how to output the sound from my Macbook to play on my stereo or TV which use RCA cable hook-ups.
I got the VID ADPT MINI-DVI TO VIDEO ADAPTER-GEN but that only adapts the video, not the sound. Do I have to get some kind of optical to analog adapter?

I got an iPod kit with a power supply, extra dock, and a Monster Cable (yeah I think they're overhyped) mini jack to RCA connector.
There are a bunch of ways you can do this. If you've already got long enough RCA cables, these would do the trick:

I can't answer to all your questions, however I can tell you that:
2) The directory where to put the report file is specifiend in a file named
<serverName>.conf
in the sourceDire property
<property name="sourceDir" value="/directory/dove/mettere/i/report"/>
that you can find under ORACLE_HOME/reports/conf
3) The URL is
http://<server IAS address>:<port number>/<jsp file path>/<repName>.jsp?server=<report server name>&userid=<user>/<pwd>@<DB conn string>[&<param>=<valore>[&...]]
5) In IE you have only to set the previous URL in the address bar.

How to input/output a digital signal and acquire an analog signal at the same time?

When I use DasyLab to acquire the analog signals is no problem without digital inputs and outputs,
and when I use DasyLab to input or output a digital signal is no problem also, but when I do that at the
same time, DasyLab tell me the rate is too high and stop.
so, I searched the manual book1 (user guide) for that, it showed me :
To internally equalize measurement time and system time in the analog input, digital input and counter
hardware modules, use the following settings:
   Synchronization: PC Clock
   Sampling rate: <= 5Hz
   Block size: =1
the problem is, if I set the Sampling rate to 5Hz, the speed of the acquirement datas is not enough for my
application.
so, how to improve it? who can give me a example programm for me. thanks!

Have things changed over the years?
I need to syncronise a digital output (Modul NI9474) and an analoge input (AI-Modul NI9203) module. I need to measure time intervals from a flank in signal A to a flank in signal B. I would like accuracies of the order of 1 ms. Currently, the signals are not synchronised, with errors of the order of 2 times the block length (block size x sample rate), sometimes much higher. The best I got so far was a block size of around 20 with a sample rate of 1 kHz.
If I use the master and slave settings on the RTSL settings, my program doesn't run properly.
If I use digital signals for input and output, I can syncronise them with RTSL settings and everything is good, but I can't always do that.
Also, if I do anything in the GUI (such as scrollowing something or going to another window), my output gets screwed up properly.
1. What can be done to synchronise AI with DO?
2. Is there something that can be done to avoid messing up the output when something happens in the user interface? (I know that I am messing up the outputs as they make some valves switch and that is loud).

I recently bought a AV projector and was asked by a smirky but envious friend the same question, after watching me hook up my powerbook, having already purchased an ipod video 30gig with the UNIVERSAL DOCK with remote control and ifrared remote control I remembered reading about it also working with the iphone, so it having a s-video output with a audio mini output port, I plugged the iphone into it and it came up with a little message saying this is not a iphone compatible device, and asked me to turn on airport, I ignored the request and it just clicked over to the itunes section, I picked a video and presto instant big screen projection TV off the iphone, How IMPRESSIVE! then I went to utube launched a utube video and wow how cool it also played seamlessly, although it pays to let the Youtube videos buffer for a minute to get a better play off the EDGE net work verse the Wi-Fi, I plan on having lots of out door theatre shows this summer with this very compact multi-media package, What a hoot! Get the universal dock no glitches!

How to output full image path to logger/console

I'm just starting to get my hands dirty with the lr sdk and could do with a little guidance.
For part of a plugin I need to retrieve the full path to each image, and although I can achieve what I want I'm struggling to print the path to the console/logger and can't understand why.
Here's a snippit of code to illustrate things:

Basically I can get the path and use it as part of an exiftool command, but can't work out how to output the path to the log/console for debugging purposes. Am I missing something simple or is this an intentional limitation?

I don't know what the problem is. What device are you outputting to?
i.e. did you try logger:enable( "logfile" ) -- that works for me in OSX to log to a file.

How to output data when converting labview vi into matlab mex functions

I am a fairly new user to labview and am currently working on labview
7.1. I have created a labview vi which can extract data from ni daq
6070e in real time. The problem is that this code has to be converted
so that it can be used with matlab.in order to do that i am using math
interactive tool kit which converts the labview code into mex files
which can then be used in matlab. Unfortunately i have not been able to
figure out how to output this data so that it can be processed in
matlab easily. i cannot afford any loss of information and all the
output must happen in real time. the o/p must take place after the fft
has been done. i am attaching the vi for convenience.There are 10
broken wires ,and this is the place where i want the o/p to be
generated.
Also do let me know if this vi can be further improved.

Manuj,
You seem to have misunderstood the way in which LabVIEW processes data. The code that you have produced will run in exactly the same way without the need for the case structure.
The code does not actually run the data from the previous case. It is merely processing data from the previous loop iteration, regardless of the case. If you were to remove the case structure, leaving only one copy of the code intact, and remove the toggle switch you have produced, or used the shift register which, I assure you would have worked, then you will have exactly the same functionality.
I have attached an example that uses the shift register to toggle cases, but also iterates that the case structure is not needed by using the same feedback node (and code) without a toggle switch or case structure.

How to Output Rich Text Format.

Hi everyone, i use a rich text editor called tiny mce in my web application. After i click the submit button the value inside the text area would be saved in my database including the HTML tags e.g. <i>Sample Report edited via Tiny MCE Rich Text Editor<i>. I need to output the text in a webuijsf static text component but the moment i see the output the tags are still there and the text is not in italics format. Does anyone know how to output it in static text with the design in it?
