Qestion about the requred dcs SAP_BUILDT SAP-JEE SAP_JTECHS

hi all,
I use nwdi to transport and deploy my web dynpro projects.
the nwdi is 2004s (7.00), but the dev system and production system are 2004 (6.40)
which version of these required DCs should I use: 6.40 or 7.00?

Hi,
It is recommended to keep NWDI always on the highest SP level. But it is also possible to have an NW 04 JDI for NW2004s developments inside the tracks.

SAP-JEE, SAP_JTECHS, SAP_BUILDT not present in Check-In Tab for import

Platform :J2ee server 6.40 SP19 , <b>NWDI 7.0</b> , XSS 100 SP 16.
While creation of ESS/MSS track only 3 SCA(ESS/MSS/PCUI) file shows up in the Check In Tab , all the 3(SAP-JEE, SAP_JTECHS, SAP_BUILDT) remaining SAP support file is not present.
All 6 File is present in cms/inbox folder.
What is the reason for the file not showing up in the check in tab? Please let me know , some has a solution to it.

Hi Akshata,
Let me add some more to your point, when you deploy these SCA file using SDM. The file system deployment will extract the contained Build Plugin SCAs into the directory /usr/sap/<instance name>/SYS/global/CMS_CBS/plugins. You can now copy the extracted files to the CMS Inbox.
If you directly copy these files to CMS/inbox then CMS wont recognize them, but once you deploy it,it does recognize them.

If the customer has done such changes an additional process step is necessary during the implementation of SAP maintenance components. This step is called modification adjustment.
With this survey and the related bachelor thesis I'll try to clarify the amount of the modification adjustment including the dependent commercial influence. Additionally I'll try to figure out if additionlly created keep records for modifications have an commercial impact on the modification adjustment.

Explication about the Delta process in SAP BI - ROCANCEL and 0RECORDMODE

Hello,
I use the delta process with cockpit datasources (2LIS_17_I3HDR and 2LIS_17_I0NOTIF).
I have transfered all data from the extraction queue to the BW queue.
After, when I will launch the delta process in SAP BI (with the infopackage), two ODS will be updated. I wanted to know how SAP will know what is really the delta? I have seen that there is a ROCANCEL field in the PSA, how does SAP choose the good row? Does-it recognize the ROCANCEL and so replace the row ROCANCELED with the new one? Have we to do a special manipulation (like a mapping of ROCANCEL with 0RECORDMODE?)?
Can you explain me a little how does SAP work (ROCANCEL values, 0RECORDMODE, etc. and what I have to do? ).

How about the RFID device and SAP AutoId connections?

Hi All,
Scenario1 (Ports are enabled from client system): Client m/c is in different location and SAP AutoId Server is in different location. I have to connect the RFID reader and device controller to Client m/c to send the PML message to Server system. Is it possible?
(Or) Do we need to connect the RFID Hardwares directly to the SAP Auto Id server?
Scenario2 : I have to connect the server system through VPN, in this case If I connect the RFID hardwares to client system. Is it fine?

Hi Stellare,
I fully agree with Daniela Bork. You've installed 5.2 and you need some preliminary data load like rules, messages etc. as per the installation & config guide. By doing so you're loading standard risks(Global) will be created in the system. This value if you want to check at table level this should be at your DB attached to the Java stack.
ABAP stack tables are /virsa.... and virsa_cc are java stack tables. It depends on which version of GRC you're using.

One question confused me with Windows folder location, i know, windows can sort or array folder by modified time, by name....,
Could i place the folder randomly, such as one folder with some sub-folders, i can place the sub-folders at the folder's top, bottom, or middle? in other words, i can group the sub-forders randomly with diferent location of folder, did Win8 have the

Note that all my questions is concerning the NOKIA N79 Mobile Phone!

Is the NOKIA N79 Which is Available In the Official NOKIA STORE in Europe   was assemebled In China and the parts of the Phone (hardwares) were made in Finland?
Is that right or wrong?

my n85- made in china
my n73ME - made in china
my n95-3 - made in finland
all these phones are genuine nokia phones just manufactured in different nokia plants around the world. you know the funny thing is that the most trouble i have had so far were with n95-3 that is made in finland and then the n85- that is made in china. the other two are amazing phones and no issues at all.
the best thing to get is a genuine nokia case. the generic cases have an issue of magnets being too strong and they have a negative impact on the phones, can even damage them to the point of not being able to use it. so nokia flagship store in new york city would be the way to go or any other retailer that sells genuine nokia products.
i buy all my acessories either back in europe or online. i don't usually buy anything that has to do with cell phones in the stores in US. sorry i can't help you there.

Error Import Broken DCs SAP_BUILDT

My problem occurs after import SCA: SAP_BUILDT,
SAP-JEE, SAP_JTECHS (SP21 WAS 6.40) in the CMS
and the log of CBS shows the following error:
INVALID DEPENDENCIES: The following dependencies of the DCs in this request are being marked as invalid as they refer to non-existent public parts.

The SAP_BUILDT Software component on the service market place seems
to be incomplete. The public part bytecode has been removed and should
never be referenced.
So, obivously the buildspace is in a bad state and needs a cleanup
Delete the involved buildspaces on the buildserver and open the track in CMS Landscape configurator save the track again (which
will recreate the buildspaces) restore system state, and import again.
About to deleting the buildspace: the sources won't disappear since
they are stored in the CBS. All you won't be able to do when you delete
it is, that you cannot activate and sync, until you resave the track
(to recreate the BS) and reimport all the components, since saving the
track initiates also a restore system state and import. With other wordsdeleting a BuildSpace can block your activations/syncs for certain hours(in case of ESS import the import itself can take an hour) since you
have to reimport the Software components of the given track you have
defined on the track configuration for that track. Where you have only
the basic build plugins (like SAPBUILDT, JEE and JTECHS) there you will
block these actions for 15-30 minutes, since this is the required time
(after saving the track) until you import again these build plugins.

DCs missing in SAP-JEE, SAP_BUILDT, SAP_JTECHS compartments in Track

Hi All,
I reimported the Updated version of Development configuration in NWDS.
After importing i found out that Standard SAP SCs SAP-JEE, SAP_BUILDT, SAP_JTECHS are empty and does not contain any Standard SAP Dcs.
Because of this all the custom Dcs in the particular Track are not building when i am Creating Projects from these DCs in NWDS.
I checked In the CBS WebUI that all the DCs are Broken because their meta data is Broken because of the missing DCs in the above mentioned SAP Standard SCs.
Please suggest how to resolve this issue and figure out the root cause of Problem.

Hi Siddharth,
sometimes changes to the track definition on CMS will lead to the invalidation of the CBS buildspaces. In this case, check-in the required SCs SAP-JEE, SAP_BUILDT and SAP-JEE again into your track (using CMS Transport Studio, Check-In tab) and import them again into the DEV and the CONS stages of your track. This usually leads to a rebuild of your "own" DCs and -- maybe after leaving and starting the NW Developer Studio again -- should fill the CBS buildspaces. As a result you should see the DCs again in the NW Developer Studio.
Please note that the situation might be different if you have changed the SP stack level of your DEV / CONS system in the meantime. In this case you need to import the "correct" version of SAP-JEE, SAP_BUILDT and SAP_JTECHS and this different version may result in broken DCs during the build (if some public parts have changed in the meantime).

These are the few points i gathered during my upgradation project.
Before starting any upgradation project, it is necessary to take up the back-up of the existing systems. As we are going to upgrade the entire system, we will be changing so many things and if something happens, without back-up, we will be in a trouble.
So it is advised to keep a back-up of the existing system.
Say for example we have the existing system E4B which is of Version 4.6C. Now we want to upgrade it to Version 4.7. Let us see how we can do it.
Version upgrades not only means that we need to run the new Version CD over the existing Version System but only involves some other thing.
Version Upgrade involves the following Steps.
Say we want to upgrade for Version 4.7 from Version 4.6, which is in the System E4B. Now we created one more system called as E1B in which the upgradation for Version 4.7 can be done.
First copy the entire E4B system into the E1B System which is created for Version 4.7.
Apply the Version 4.7 CD provided by SAP over the E1B System.
Now check whether all the functionalities that was in E4B system works fine with E1B system also.
Thus the Version Upgrade involves two steps.
1. SAP Upgradation with the help of the CD
2. Manual Upgradation.

1. Error:
In case of Translate Error; Dangerous use of Translate in Multilingual system.
Correction:
To correct the Error occurring on TRANSLATE statement use this additional statement before the Translate statement.
SET LOCALE LANGUAGE sy-langu.
This statement defines the Text Environment of all the programs & internal sessions in the language specified in the LANGUAGE KEY, which in this case is sy-langu, i.e. the log on language of the user.
2. Error:
In case of Open Dataset Error; Encoding Addition must be included.
Correction:
This Error occurs only when the MODE is TEXT.
To correct the Error occurring on OPEN DATASET statement use this statement instead.
OPEN DATASET dataset_name FOR access IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT.
Where: dataset_name NAME OF THE DATASET.
Access INPUT or OUTPUT or APPENDING or UPDATE.
DEFAULT - Corresponds to UTF-8 in UNICODE systems &
NON_UNICODE in NON-UNICODE systems.
3. Error:
In case of the usage of the Obsolete FM UPLOAD/DOWNLOAD or WS_UPLOAD/DOWNLOAD; Function module UPLOAD is flagged as obsolete.
Correction:
The FM GUI_DOWNLOAD/UPLOAD is used.
The variations to be made in the parameters of the FM:
1. Filename It must be of STRING type.
2. Filetype DAT is not used any longer, instead ASC is used.
3. Field Separator The default value SPACE is used, incase for a TAB separated file X can be used.
4. Error:
In case of CURRENCY/UNIT Addition Error; Use addition CURRENCY/UNIT when outputting.
Correction:
The CURRENCY addition specifies the currency-dependant decimal places for the output of the data objects of type i or p. To obtain the currency-key, the field CURRKEY of the table TCURX is used. The system determines the number of the decimal places from the field CURRDEC of the selected CURRKEY.
To correct this error follow the following method:
WRITE: /3 'TOTAL',' ', TOTAL.
WRITE: /3 TOTAL, , TOTAL CURRENCY 2. --- Where 2is the Currency Key for Getting 2 decimal places.
5. Error:
In case of TYPE X Error; Variable must be of C, N, D, T or STRING type.
Correction:
We need to change all the Type X (Hexadecimal) variables to Type C with their values unchanged.
So the method to be followed is:-
1. Load the definition of the class CL_ABAP_CONV_IN_CE or CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES.
2. Declare the variable as Type C, and use the method UCCP(XXXX) of the class CL_ABAP_CONV_IN_CE where XXXX represents the 8-bit Hexadecimal value and incase the variable holds a Hex value for a Horizontal Tab , then the Attribute HORIZONTAL_TAB of the class CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES can be used directly instead of using the method UCCP.
E.g.:
i) *DATA: TAB TYPE X VALUE 09, Tab character
CLASS: CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES DEFINITION LOAD.
DATA TAB TYPE C VALUE CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>HORIZONTAL_TAB.
ii) * DATA: CHAR TYPE X VALUE 160.
CLASS: CL_ABAP_CONV_IN_CE DEFINITION LOAD.
DATA CHAR TYPE C.
CHAR = CL_ABAP_CONV_IN_CE=>UCCP(00AO).
(Here 00A0 is the Hexadecimal equivalent of the decimal 160).
3. Incase the TYPE X Variable has a length more than 1, then an internal table must be created for the variable.
E.g.:
CLASS: CL_ABAP_CONV_IN_CE DEFINITION LOAD.
DATA : LF(2) TYPE X VALUE 'F5CD'.
DATA : BEGIN OF LF,
A1 TYPE C,
A2 TYPE C,

6. Error:
In case of the Character -Error; The Character -cant appear in names in Unicode Programs.
Correction:
The Character -(Hyphen) appearing in Variable names is replaced by the character _ (Under Score) for Unicode/Upgrade Compliance.

In case of Move between 2 different Structures; The structures are not mutually convertible in a Unicode program.
Correction:
Make both the Data Types compatible and then assign the contents.
E.g.:
The statement move retainage_text to temp_text. Gives an error, where RETAINAGE_TEXT is an internal table and TEMP_TEXT is a string of length 200.
A Feasible solution for this is to specify from which position to which position of the string, the fields of RETAINAGE_TEXT should be assigned.
TEMP_TEXT+0(1) = RETAINAGE_TEXT-DQ1.
TEMP_TEXT+1(1) = RETAINAGE_TEXT-HEX.
TEMP_TEXT+2(20) = RETAINAGE_TEXT-FILLER1.

Correction:
Was due to error in reference table S541. TABLE S541 has errors
1)Foreign key S541- ZZMARKET (ZZMARKET AND KATR2 point to different domains)
2)Foreign key S541-ZZACQUIGRP (ZZACQUIGRP AND KATR8 point to different domains)
Changed the domain of ZZMARKET (from ZMKCODE to ATTR2)
And that of ZMKCODE (from ZACCODE to ATTR8)
13. Error:
In case of KEY does not exist
Correction:
The reference table for field KBETR was KNOV earlier changed it to RV61A as KNOV was in turn referring to RV61A.
14. Error:
Incase of WRITE statement, Literals that take more than one line is not permitted in Unicode systems.
Correction: To correct this error, we need to align the spaces accordingly so that the statement doesnt go beyond the line.
15. Error:
Incase of Data statement, The data type ZWFHTML can be enhanced in any way. After a structure enhancement, this assignment or parameter might be syntactically incorrect..
Correction: To correct this error, instead of like in the Data statement, use type.
16. Error:
Incase of DESCRIBE statement, DESCRIBE can be used only with IN BYTE... Or IN CHARACTER mode in Unicode systems.
Correction: To correct this error, use additional text, IN BYTE MODE / IN CHARACTER MODE along with this statement.
CHARACTER MODE is added when the data object is of flat/ character type.
BYTE MODE is added when the data object is a deep structure.
Syntax: DESCRIBE FIELD data_obj : LENGTH blen IN BYTE MODE,
LENGTH clen IN CHARACTER MODE.
Where blen and clen must be of type I.
17. Error:
Incase of DO-LOOP Error, In Do loop range addition needed
Correction:

Replace WS_DOWNLOAD and WS_UPLOAD by

For issue during Issue using SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 Function module, the solution is After this FM we should put COMMIT WORK.
Issue:
Moving data from one structure to another structure if those two structures are not compatible
Solution:
we should use move-corresponding or field by filed we need to move it.
If database structures are different in 4.6c and ECC6.0,
Then we should go with append structure concept.
While testing the report if it gives dump at Select query level or any database or view level,then just goto that table or view and goto the data base utility(se14) adjust the database. But make sure that selected radio button in se14 transaction should be activate and adjust database

SAP-JEE, SAP_BUILDT, and SAP_JTECHS and Dev Configuration questions

Hi experts,
I am configuring NWDI for our environment and have a few questions that I'm trying to get my arms around.
I've read we need to check-in SAP-JEE, SAP_BUILDT, and SAP_JTECHS as required components, but I'm confused on the whole check-in vs. import thing.
I placed the 3 files in the correct OS directory and checked them in via the check-in tab on CMS.   Next, the files show up in the import queue for the DEV tab. My questions are what do I do next?
1. Do I import them into DEV? If so, what is this actually doing? Is it importing into the actual runtime system (i.e. DEV checkbox and parameters as defined in the landscape configurator for this track)? Or is just importing the file into the DEV buildspace of NWDI system?
2. Same question goes for the Consolidation tab.    Do I import them in here as well?
3. Do I need to import them into the QA and Prod systems too? Or do I remove them from the queue?
Development Configuration questions ***
4. When I download the development configuration, I can select DEV or CON workspace. What is the difference? Does DEV point to the sandbox (or central development) runtime system and CONS points to the configuration runtime system as defined in the landscape configurator? Or is this the DEV an CON workspace/buildspace of the NWDI sytem.
5. Does the selection here dictate the starting point for the development? What is an example scenarios when I would choose DEV vs. CON?
6. I have heard about the concept of a maintenance track and a development track. What is the difference and how do they differ from a setup perspective?   When would a Developer pick one over the over?

"Check-In" makes SCA known to CMS, "import" will import the content of the SCAs into CBS/DTR.
1. Yes. For these three SCAs specifically (they only contain buildarchives, no sources, no deployarchives) the build archives are imported into the dev buildspace on CBS. If the SCAs contain deployarchives and you have a runtime system configured for the dev system then those deployarchives should get deployed onto the runtime system.
2. Have you seen /people/marion.schlotte/blog/2006/03/30/best-practices-for-nwdi-track-design-for-ongoing-development ? Sooner or later you will want to.
3. Should be answered indirectly.
4. Dev/Cons correspond to the Dev/Consolidation system in CMS. For each developed SC you have 2 systems with 2 workspaces in DTR for each (inactive/active)
5. You should use dev. I would only use cons for corrections if they can't be done in dev and transported. Note that you will get conflicts in DTR if you do parallel changes in dev and cons.

Unable to find SAP_BUILDT, SAP_JTECHS, and SAP-JEE

Hi,
I am configuring NWDI for dev environment and in the process i have created a product, software component, reserved the namespace prefix, created a domain and while cretaing a track i am facing this prblm.
I have entered the general track data in the track data tab, added the software component which I have created and after that I got the SAP_BUILDT, SAP_JTECHS and SAP-JEE in the required component table.
After that how to add these systems to the development track in runtime systems tab and i added only the development runtime system and i left the other three.
After that to perform checkin and import the above software components SAP_BUILDT, SAP_JTRANS, SAP-JEE i did not find the directory CMS_CBS in the server path <drive>://usr/sap/<sid>/SYS/global.
Please tell how to find those software components

you can use the wizard to create a track and determine which kind of application you want to develope. The wizard will automatically select and import the correct components.
If you are working with CE 7.11 you can find the wizard in
NWA -> Configuration Management -> Scenarios -> Configuration Wizard
-> Change Management Service (CMS): Create an Application Skeleton
or
http://server:port/devinf --> Create an Application Skeleton
