Qosmio X500 Bluetooth mouse stops responding

Hi,
I have the latest bluetooth stack / drivers installed. (Yes, I downloaded the latest from http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/index.php?page=download-toshiba) All drivers are always updated to the latest including the wireless drivers as well.
Problem: About every 20 - 40 minutes my Logitech bluetooth mouse stops responding. The cursor gets stuck and it won't move at all.
I tried unpairing / pairing the mouse, that helped, but, then again after 1 hour it stuck again. I re-installed the BT stack and that did not help as well.
The only way I can use my mouse again when stuck is when I click "Disable Bluetooth Function" and then I "Enable Bluetooth function".
I do this about 10 times a day and you have no idea how annoying it can get.
I bought a new Logitech Bluetooth mouse (Logitech M555b) and that did not help as well.
If anyone could help me out here I would deeply appreciate it.
Thanks,
Mike

Thats strange but unfortunately; I dont have right solution for you but just some advices.
First of all I googled for this Logitech M555b BT mouse and found several threads about the issues with this mouse.
The connection issue happens with other computers running windows 7 or XP or iOS (Macbook).
So it seems that this issue is not related to Toshiba BT stack.
A friend of mine use other BT mouse from Logitech and it works fine all the time using the Bluetooth stack.
I recommend checking the Logitech forum to get further details:

  • Mouse stops responding and instead brings up a box with options like Search in Spotlight, etc..  What's happening?

Sometimes when I'm typing and click on wireless mouse to correct a misspelling or the like, the mouse stops responding--freezes--and instead brings up a box with one set of options or another.  One box includes  Search in Spotlight, Search in Google, Look in Dictionary, etc..  The other box includes Help, Cut, Copy, Paste, Font, etc.
On some days, like yesterday, this happens every few minutes.  Today, however, it hasn't happened yet--oops, spoke too soon...it just happened again!
I've checked mouse preferences and tried different options there to no avail.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks...

Soundl like you are activating the mouse "right click" by mistake and and getting contextual menus instead of the standard left click. I suggest that you turn off the right click option for a while in pref's and use the combination of;  "control + mouse click" to access these menus when you actually want them. This will ensure that a miss click is not the problem.
If the problem is fixed, then turn the right click option back on so you can adjust your usage of the mouse with care to click on the right or left side of the mouse for standard or right clicks. this way you know that the problem is you and not the mouse.

  • Bluetooth Mouse stops working after software updates

    Hello,
I've been using a Bluetooth mouse with my X220 Tablet for several months now. After fiddling with device manager to ensure that the Thinkpad Bluetooth device does not have the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" setting set, things were working perfectly.
However, after running through some windows & Lenovo updates, the mouse now seems to work for a while, but after any idle time, the mouse stops working. Turning the mouse off & back on seems to cause it to reconnect, and it works until the next time it goes idle for 2 minutes.
I've gone through device manager, and made sure both the Bluetooth & USB Root devices are set not to power down (per http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/Bluetooth-mouse-stops-working-from-time-to-tim... ), but still no luck.
The software updates applied from the Lenovo System Update tool were:
    ThinkPad Power Management Driver: 1.67.04.05
    ThinkPad Power Manager: 6.64.4
    Lenovo Solution Center: 2.4.002
    Intel G1/G2 Display Driver: 9.17.10.3347
Also, some windows updates  which don't seem related (mostly security), but I can lookup the list of KB numbers if helpful.
Are there any known issues with the power manager updates that might affect this? If so, what's the best way to revert to the last working version?
    Thanks!

Try doing a PRAM reset and see if that helps, also put in new batteries as that may make a difference.

  • Bluetooth mouse stops working when adding a printer: 10.10.2

    Hi,
I'm using a MacBook Pro 2012 Retina, upgraded to 10.10.2.  Since upgrading to 10.10.2 I have been unable to connect to my Canon MG6150 that is plugged into the USB port of the Time Capsule (3TB).  Those problems will be detailed in a separate post.
I have tried deleting the printer and creating a new printer and when I click on the + and get the window to select a printer, the bluetooth mouse stops working - the message comes up to show "Connection Lost".  I have to select the printer manually and only when I have returned to the main Printer window in Settings & Preferences does the mouse connection work again.
Weird.  Between this and not being able to set up the scanning features again (that used to work), I'm feeling underwhelmed...

sounds like an IRQ conflict. See if disabling plug and play in the bios solves it. Arch's kernel provides this already.

  • Mouse stops responding when closing applications...

When I close an application, the mouse stops responding for about 1-3 seconds. I continue to gesture on the trackpad until it suddenly comes back. It it fairly consistent when it starts...but the behavior doesn't start consistently. A reboot usually helps...but I am not interested in rebooting every time I have a problem with the mouse cursor.

Turns out it is the option to ignore trackpad input in the preferences. When I would close an application, it would think that I was typing and would ignore the trackpad for a second. I turned it off and I am back to normal.

  • Magic mouse stopped responding

This week my magic mouse stopped working.  Replacing the batteries didn't help.
It shows up under my Bluetooth devices at the top, but doesn't work.  When I try to connect to it under system preferences it doesn't find a mouse.
I can right click on the mouse and get the menu, but it will not move the pointer arrow around the screen.
    I'm on a Macbook Pro - OS X 10.6.8
    Any ideas?

    I'm having the same problem.
    Solutions anyone?
    I'm on an iMac - OS X 10.8.2
    Thanks.

  • I have Mac OS 10.6.8. Finder seems to be corrupt. Mouse stops responding. How do you fix Finder?

I have Mac Intel Base running OS 10.6.8. Finder seems to be corrupt. I have checked the system and it seems to be working properly. However, my Mouse and keyboard stop responding when I relaunch finder, and I have a very slow start up time (10 to 15 minutes till the mouse and keyboard respond). I ran Disk Warrior and got a lot of permission and file errors. Disk Warrior says they are fixed, but every time I run Disk Warrior or Disk Utility the same errors keep showing up. Trying to go to safe mode to check to see if extensions are an issue doesn't work because mouse and keyboard do not respond so I can't log in. Any suggestions?

  • Qosmio X500: power adapter stopped working for no reason

    Hi,
Now i have my Qosmio X500 for a year and i like it, however i have small problems with it, and i would like to know if it can be problematic.
The first thing is that my power adapter stopped working for no reason,
So i bought a new one, but it always made some noise when the laptop was fully charged.
I know people with the same laptop and their adapter didn't make that sizzling noise, it looks like it was already defect from the begin.
Then i have one dead pixel in the middle of my screen, no problem for me.
Finally my screen is a bit loose from the laptop, when i close it, i can move it, it always seems like it's not on it's correct place, because when i close it normally it's not 100% horizontal...
Also when i replace my screen, my speakers make crackling noises and my webcam stops working.
So all those problems i have annoy me, especially the last one (webcam and speakers problem), can this fit in the warranty of the laptop? I did extend the warranty for one year...
    Thanks in advance.

    > The first thing is that my power adapter stopped working for no reason,
    > So i bought a new one, but it always made some noise when the laptop was fully charged.
I think this is AC adaptor fault maybe a broken cable or something like that I would recommend you to replace this get in contact with the dealer and ask for the new one.
    > Then i have one dead pixel in the middle of my screen, no problem for me.
I found a info about such issues:
+Information on screen technology and pixel failure tolerance for LCD displays
    +http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9502LZ0000R02.htm
    > Finally my screen is a bit loose from the laptop, when i close it, i can move it, it always seems like it's not on it's correct place, because when i close it normally it's not 100% horizontal...Also when i replace my screen, my speakers make crackling noises and my webcam stops working.
Maybe you should ask Toshiba notebook technicians for a check maybe some screws or the hinges are loose.
The speakers should be checked with connected headphones. If you will not notice the same crackling sound using headphones, then the issue might be related to speakers

  • Wireless Bluetooth Mouse stops occassionally. Using T410 and Windows 7 64bit

I have tried the registry changes suggested elsewhere. However the thinkpad bluetooth mouse just suddenly stops and needs to be powered off and on before it works again. Any ideas.

    Hello mate,
Have you got the latest driver ?

  • Re: Logitech Travel Bluetooth mouse stopped working with my Satellite A300/

Whilst happily using my Logitech Travel Bluetooth mouse, suddenly it stopped working, thinking it was a mouse problem, I first put a new battery in, but still not working. Had a look in the Bluetooth settings and it was still showing in there, at this point the computer was still in warranty. Later I tried to connect my mobile and that worked ok, so I was now convinced that it was the mouse. Rang the shop where I bought it, tough luck mate, we are not interested in helping you...thanks!
Some time later I got a chance to try the mouse on another computer, hey presto it worked fine....yippee maybe it will now work on mine...no such luck. So now I am thinking that there must be a problem with my laptop...and of course the warranty is now run out!
I have now deleted the Laser mouse in the Bluetooth settings, thinking being that maybe a new search and install could solve the issue, but now whilst it sees my phone it cannot connect to it and it does not even see the Laser mouse at all.
The driver version it is using is 5.0.2518 which is probably what came with the computer. As far as I know I have never updated it.
This all seems strange to me that one moment it is working and the next it is not...anyway is it worth trying to update the driver software> or am I barking up the wrong tree.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    JD

    Thanks for your reply hammer.
I have now installed the latest bluetooth drivers, the only thing that has happened is that it can now connect to my mobile phone. the mouse is still a no goer.
All the drivers seem to be there and I took a note of the versions prior to the update, they have all been updated ok, there are no crosses against any item in the Device Manager.
Hmm hardware issue could be a bit difficult. But as it is now out of warranty maybe I will need to take it apart myself and see if I can find out the problem.
Must say that I am slightly disapointed to have this happen....I bought Toshiba cos from all accounts it is supposed to be the best out there, but next time I think it may be a different brand.
    cheers.

  • Qosmio X500 bluetooth autostart problem

When I click the "Disable Bluetooth Function" in the toshiba software the bluetooth turns off and in about 30sec it turns on. It just doesn't want to stay turned off. The only way I can turn it off is from the Device Manager by clicking disable on Bluetooth USB Controller. I'm running on Win7-64bit. Is there a way to fix the "Disable Bluetooth Function"?
    Message was edited by: Damage_1

I presume you didnt understand what I wrote. Sorry if my English was so understandable.
I understand you very well and I wrote clearly that you can exit BT stack software. Not to disable it but to stop running Toshiba BT software. Without BT software your BT module cannot be enabled.
So do not disable it and set into red mode but close the application.
If you dont use BT module so often you can stop BT stack to start with Windows and use it when necessary.

  • Mouse stopped responding in screen saver mode

When my laptop goes to the screen saver screen my mouse will not respond and when I move it so that the screen saver turns off, but the keyboard works. I'm using the Toshiba screen saver that came by default when I purchased the laptop
Can anyone help me with this problem?

    Hi there,
So, firstly: The screensaver has absolutely nothing to do it. Its rather a driver problem and I suggest you to update your touchpad driver and touchpad software.
A better idea would be to deinstall everything which has to do with the touchpad and then install the latest version of that software.
Another good idea would be to update ALL existing drivers in your system and do all system updates (windows-related).
    Greetings

  • Lost HP bluetooth mouse

    Hello,
I use hp bluetooth mouse. Yesterday, I upgraded the system to 10.7.2, then the mouse worked OK. Today I tried to pair apple mouse to another mac in the same room. My computer suddenly picked up the signal earlier. I did not pair the apple mouse with my mac. However, my hp mouse stopped responding. I have deleted it from a list of paired devices.
I have tried numerous times pair it again. It does not work.
Since mouse does not have its own keyboard I select no passcode option.
    The result message is below.
The strange thing is that when choosing a passcode 0000 the mouse appears for a couple of secconds in the paired devices list, but the connection is not done and the message is:
I have tried connecting the same mouse to Windows bootcamped to my mac and it works, I can delete and the mouse from the list of devices and and add it as many times as I want. My mobile phone connects to mac in Mac OS no problem, I dare not deleting it from the paired devices list though.
    Please help.

Managed to solve the problem myself. In the Bluetooth section of the System Preferences I have selected Update Services under the knob with a gear. It did the trick and the mouse is connected and paired.
