    Hi,
In case of transaction MFBF, while doing back-flush/goods receipt if we give plan order (Field Number: PLNUM). Is there any report or any table where I will get the GR quantity reference against that plan order number?
If it is not possible, what is possible significance to give this field in MFBF transaction as we can do backflush/ GR against materials?
    Thanks,
    Harsh

    Dear Harsh,
I will share some knowledge regarding the same.
1.Tracing the planned order or tracing the backflushed quantity with respect to a Planned order is not
    possible in REM scenario.
2.If you check in MF12,for the assembly backflushed quantities, even if you select the planned order field in
select varaint only an X indicator will get displayed.
3.This field is given because if you want to do the confirmation based on planned order quantity or else if
you make this field as mandatory then as per to quantity mentioned in the planned order, you can do the
confirmation,Say there's a planned order 500050 for a quantity say 100,first time after entering the planned
order the syetm proposes 100 quantity ,where you can remove that and mention as 50 and do the
confirmation.Next time when you enter the same Planned order number the system proposes only for the
    50 remaining quantity.
4.So I can say if you dont want the user to do manual confirmation and it must be only planned order basis
means ,then this will help you, because the user may try to confirm n number of quantities without any
Planned order. So if you want to control this, then it will be of great help.

  • Qm in repetative

    Dear gurus,
i have maintained inspection type 13 for repetative mfg,
    1) wht setting should be done in rate routing for inspection point?
    2) when the inspection lot generated automatically.
    pleased help me out
    Regards
    Pravin

    Hi,
Repetitive Mfg : In process inspection procedure steps:
    1. Material master> QM view> maintain Inspection type 13.
    2. Create Rate Routing for the material, maintain the Operation and control key for Inprocess Inspection, assign the Master inspection Charateristics.
3.Do all the Planning and Execution of planned orders for the material.
    4. Goto MFPR T code, enter the fields: material and Plant and Prod Ver. if you have.
Excecute inspection lot for material will be visible and release the Inspection lot for the material.
    5. Goto QE51N Tcode and input the material and plant and execute, you will find the Inspection lot, input  the results.
    Hope this is clear.

  • Restriction of GR w/o any consumption in Repetative Scenario

    Dear Experts,
In our business we are using repetative mfg. Incase we deactivate the BOM and we go for production confirmation with that BOM, system gives us information message : No componenets found. Do you want to cancel?  If user chose the option NO GR is made without consumption. We need to restrict the GR without any consumption.
    Kindly suggest for the same.

    Hi
There is no standard way to restrict that, but I think you can use the user exit XMRM0001to check and restrict that.
Please go SMOD to read the documentation of the usage.
    This includes 3 components below.
    EXIT_SAPLBARM_001              Customer Exit: RM_BACKFLUSH_CHECK
    EXIT_SAPLBARM_002              Customer Exit: RM_BACKFLUSH_GO
    EXIT_SAPLBARM_003              Customer Exit: RM_CANCEL_BACKFLUSH_CHECK

  • GI problem during MFBF

    Dear Friends
Let me explain which problem i am facing at our client side.
IT is automobile industry where repetative mfg is using.Final product is tracoter which has BOM,Routing(Not Rate routing). There is no backfluch indicater mentioned in material master, routing and work center.
Tracter has bom where 3 to 4 assemblies are present. These assemblies are also have bom, routing(Not rate routing) .here also no backflush indictor in material master, routing and workcenter.
They are using reporting point backflush during MFBF.REM profile for assembly and finished product is same.when i do backflush for assembly then no problem, everything is there i.e. GI and GR.
But when i do backflush for tracter then only GR is done not GI.
       plz help in this regard.
    thanks
    kedar

    Hi Kedatr,
As you have mentioned that you are using reporting point, letme give some details,
1.During backflush have all of your reporting point operations selected ?
2.what is your reporting point structure.
    3. have you assigned all bom components to operation correctly.
    4. please check your PCC for your Finished goods, have all of your BOm assemplies selected correctly.
As per reporting point backflush, if u confirm any reporting point operation  , GI for components for  that reporting point operation and previous operations should be made as per settings from profile.

  • Post processing records in MF47 and COGI

    Hi All,
    I have a query....
In STD SAP will the postprocessing records created by Repetative Mfg. be visible in transaction COGI???
And will the postprocessing records created by Descrite Mfg. be visible in transaction MF47???
    Regards,
    Vinayak.

    Hi ,
In general for Discreate Mfg the post processing records are checked and cleared in Tcode : COGI.
Whereas for REM Mfg it is : MF47.
You will be able to view the REM postprocessing records in MF47, it is a standard behaviour of SAP , hence I can say there is no bug in your system.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Steel ind scenario - REM

    Dear friends,
Sponge Iron is produced using furnace continiously, here RM (Iron ore , coal etc ) feeding is also continious. Continious means raw materials are charged using conveyar belt round the clock.
I think, this is Repetative mfg.
    Am I right?

    Check the following
1.Is the material not changed in the workcentre for longer duration.
2.How do they want to collect the cost, cosumption of RM etc..
-Do they want any Production order
-Or do they want to collect at material level
    3.How to plan they capacity
4.How many type of materials do they produce typically in day/week/month.
So like this collect all the businessscenarions to validate and confirm what type of production scenario to be mapped.
let us know if you need more clarification

  • Difference Between Production Industry & Process Industry

    Hi Freinds,
Hi have a query. What is the major difference between Production Industry & Process Industry?
I will give you a following example. Please carefully read it.
Take a example of TATA Motors. We all know it produces automobiles. So we will consider it as a Production Industry. But at the same time it uses the Paint to paint the vehicles is produced by it only. So can we call it as a Process Industry? If yes please explain it.
I will award deserving points accordingly for every reply.
    Thanks & Regards
    Saeed Arif

production:- conversion / processing the raw materials to finished products.
    differen type of industry:
job type of industry:- this is of mainly MAKE TO ORDER TYPE , suiting the particular customer requirments , after getting the order only you start doing the production
eg:- Turbine mfg by BHEL, Aircrafts and ship buildings etc.
so here your planning and costs change one order.
Repetative mfg or Batch tpe production: here the products wll be made in batches as lots eg 2000no or 5000nos qty as batches ,
here the planning and costing etc will differ from one batches to another.
eg: Automobile , apperal industry. this can be produced by strategies MAKE TO STOCK or by MAKE TO ORDER,
PROCESS INDUSTRY OR CONTINOUS TYPE OF PRODUCTIONS:
in this type of industry the Process remains same (constant) and procucts may with slight variation in composition,  in this type of industy almost every thing is mechanised . this type of indstry will have LINE LAY OUT/PRODUCT LAYOUT
ie at one entry all the materials go in one line and processed and at the end of the line you will be getting finished products. the complete line will be controlled by automated sensors by using sopostigated sensors. the only problem here is that in LINE  if one macine /station is have break down the complete production will comes to halt as one machine/station output is going to be input for oher staion/machine.
eg: cement, paints , food and beverages etc.
you can seggregate indstry type by materials or by the type of layout(ie mfg line)
so now coming to your doubt : TATA - AUTOMOBILES following hybrid type of laty out  ie mfg of automobiles is functional  layout , where there is flexibilty of planning , from paint sections on wards it follows line layout  ..
so you have to call it is as product industry , intern which have line layout for cetain operations , which pertains  to  process industry...

  • Planning Strategy 81???

    Dear All,
         My client requirements are,
    1. Based on Sales order planned order(or RS as they are using Repetative mfg backflushing) should be generated for FG.
    2. From FG, requirement for Sub assemblies to be passed in the form of  planned orders and for raw materials PRs should be generated.
    3. once they confirm production using the planned orders they should be knocked off.
Can any one suggest me the process and strategy to be used..
    Regards,
    HT

Go ahead with planning strategy 81...the given process in possible.
    1) You need to configure the planned order type PE for the plant in OPU5 transaction.
    2) when you create sales orders automatic planned orders will come for sales parts.
    3) Compoenets availability be cheked and you will get the missing part list if shoratge exists.
    4) According to this you can start procurement by creating PRs or PO and miantain the reuqired stock for backflushing.
    5) If you want PRs from MRP then you need to run MRP for these missing parts manually from MD03. But this not requires as you already having the shortage quantity lists to complete the sales orders.
    6) Do backflushing from MFBF against the sales order from Make to order tab against sales order/planned order.

  • Rem Blackflush

    Hi All,
one of my client wants to follow the process of repetative mfg.
Here they want to confirm production booking automatically, but rejection wants to confirmed step wise i.e. by operation wise.
Is it possible ? if possible then how?
    Regards,
    Sangram

    Hi Patil,
In REM you can confirm the Planned Order either by Final Backflush OR Reporting point.
If you want to confirm the automatically , first thing required is which REM Profile you are going to use.
If you use Final Backflush then it is not possible to post the rejection by operation wise.
Decide the type of confirmation and process you are going to adopt for the same i.e Are you going to use the Std SAP process OR planning to build a Enhancement for the Confirmation.

  • Diff. bet Repetative  & Descrete mfg.

    hi...
whats the diff. bet Repetative  & Descrete mfg.
can i get some detailed ldifference

please search in the forum..many threads with good explantiion available.
These are three ways of production in a industries can happen.
PP-discreet – required where there will be discrete orders passing through a work center, here the capacity planning plays major role. i.e. if you have a lath machine, many orders are going through this lathe m/c and schedule plays very important role w.r.t lath as well as the product as the product has to go through many work centre. Every time the product many not be same…can be different, but same work center can be used for many products.
In PPPI- We are mainly concerned with quality parameters and Process management i.e control recipe is configured in this module. But the difference is the o/p is almost same…you will not change the product, but every step is very impartment to achieve the product quality. And it is entered by operator and approved by shift supervisor through control recipe function.
REM- mainly to reduce the data input by person working in SAP and in this case we are bother about period end costing not the each order level costing as the process is repetitive and one order is sufficient for the wile life.

  • In-Process Quality Inspection in Rep Mfg

    Hi..
We have Rep Mfg scenario , and we want to chk the material while in-process.
In the Mtl Mastr we have maintained Insptn type as 13 .
In Rate Routing we have maintained a operation with  control key which requires Insptn characteristics n MIC is assigned in routing.
We have created a Planned order .
Now , requirement is dat system should not allow backflush activity until in-process inspetion rresult is recorded.
Whether Inspetion Lot gets created in Rep Mfg as soon as Planned Order is created..?
How to make the system to accomodate in - process inspection before backflush..?
    Please guide me with soln
    With Regards,
    LN

    Hi
Try by selecting reporting point in the rem profile.
suppose u have 10 operations ok
first 3 operations are production operation then 4th u want to go for inprocess inspection then for the 3rd operation select the control key as milestone key and 4th is quality control key with milestone confirmation.
Then when ever u go for backflush(MFBF)  first u have to confirm the up to 3rd operation then 4th operation confirmation.
by this u can do the inprocess inspection scenario for REM

  • Quality inspection in repetitive mfg

    Hi
I have some queries in quality inspection setup for REP MFG.
    1. Setting up inprocess inspection
    2. GR Inspection from production
    3. At what stage the QM lot is generated .
The inspection types used for PP-P1 03 and 04 hold good for above or should I take other inspection type.
    Best wishes

    Hi Bhramankar,
I have not got chance to work on the REM Live environment. But I am very anxious to work over it if I will have chance.
I have posted the thread regarding the same about the Order when I read the process scenario form the Library material on [Repetitive Manufacturing|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/8a/1a1eff4e4211d182be0000e829fbfe/frameset.htm].
Where the last line have link to capture the Quality inspection for REM.
The [Link|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/8a/1a1d794e4211d182be0000e829fbfe/content.htm] may have leaded me to write such.
If have misguided him, I sincerely APOLOGIES for that. And deeply regretted for the same.
I truly request you to posture some focus over in process inspection in REM and cultivate our information.
I again thank you for your inputs.
    Dear Dharam,
The SAP standard inspection type is 13 for REM.
How to capture it? I have a [Document|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/8a/a5aadd4adc11d189740000e8322d00/frameset.htm] it may help you.

  • In-process inspection in repetitive mfg-  Inspection type - 13

    Hi there,
Can any one please tell me what is the differrence between the inspection type -03 & 13.
As per my understanding the only diff is that 03 is used in discrete mfg & 13 in repetitive mfg...
what is the other differrence ........??
    Regrads
    Kaushik

    Hello Kaushik,
actually you have already found out that 03 is for descrete and 13 for repetive manufacturing. What is the difference?
03 Descrete Manufacturing : Limited production numbers and can be assigned to a customer order. Example: A computer built with various extras (built to order).
Accordingly inspection plans and inspection points assigned can be configured rather freely.
13 Repetitive Manufacturing: Production lines produce the same product in an unlimited number over a longer period of time. Example: Screws M8 x 40 mm (Mass production). In this case inspection plans need a relation to either time, numbers etc.
I hope that this information answers your question.

  • QM for Film Mfg. Industry

    Dear All,
I want to know about Quality Management in Film Mfg. Industry / Paper Industry.
Please tell me, where i can get information for this.
I have a query in QM for Film Mfg. Industry.
    The problem is:
Film production is in ROLLs. Base unit of measure is KG.
I want to segregate defective area inside the roll, while usage decision. area is in sq.meters
There is no extra field for this in standard transaction, as per my knowledge.
    Please help.
my email id : [email protected]
    GNK

I can't help you specifically with your question.  But you might want to look at SAP's Mill products solutions.  What you describe is very similar to what happens in the mills that produce things like carpet or rolled sheet metal.  The carpet and metal are made in rolls measured in sq. ft.  but very often managed and stored as EA.  Defections are related to certain areas of the roll.
The following is from SAP's documentation on this solution, bolidng is mine.
    Purpose
The SAP Mill Products component adds sector-specific functionality to an ERP system to satisfy the complex requirements of mill industries (e.g. metal, wood, paper, textiles, construction materials, and cable sectors).
These industry segments differ from others primarily in that the materials used have a large number of characteristics and variants. The materials in the segments listed above are also predominantly area-based (e.g. paper, textiles, plastic film) or length-based (e.g. cables, piping). Account must be taken of these material characteristics throughout the entire supply chain.
To cater for the particularities of these industry segments, SAP Mill Products features processes and functions that cover the entire supply-chain cycle – from product design and configuration, through planning, order processing, capacity planning and production, to final delivery. Additional functions are available in costing and inventory management. SAP Mill Products are also integrated into Quality Management, Financial Accounting, and Controlling.
