Que about "build on ant" ?

can i get a describtion about what "ant" is for building stuff?
i read about polish and ant - is ant a gui who convert to xml or what?
i dont understand
help
thanx

Ant is a tool to automate the build process. It's like a makefile, where the build scripts are written in an XML format.
For MIDP development Antenna is often used. It's a bunch of Ant tasks (processes you can run with Ant) that includes building jads and jars, preverifying, obfuscating, etc.

  • How to go about building a app that searches for and displays pages from Google.

    I was wondering how i would go about building an app that takes a users input such as a sentence (not a URL) and then searches  for their input on Google. This app would then have to display a selected page automatically on the UIWebView.
    My existing code in my viewcontroller.m is as follows:
    - (void)viewDidLoad
    [super viewDidLoad]; [webView loadRequest: [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"http://www.google.com"]]];
    I now want my app to use a users input (a word or a sentence) and search Google with that input but do it in the background then display the first search result in the UIWebView, what code would i need?
    Thanks

    Sorry, I cant view the App Store Review Guidelines
    https://developer.apple.com/appstore/resources/approval/guidelines.htmllink, maybe its because i dont have a developers account yet i will be getting one when i am ready to launch my app on the app store.

  • Is there any handbooks about build the Desktop Environment?

    Is there any handbooks about build the Desktop Environment?
    I found it is difficult to build up the Desktop Environment with Archlinux.
    Of course, I am new to archlinux, and I learnd a lot by using it.  I really love it~!
    I just want to make my desktop as same as Ubuntu 8.04...    It's just a small dream..
    I think I need a handbook.....   Who can write it or where can find it~!  (The wiki is not enough)

    http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Gnome
    Could you provide a screenshot? Picture? Something?
    You say you can startx succesfully. Is this with an unmodified (shouldn't even exist) .xinitrc, or with a .xinitrc configured to start Gnome? If the latter, can you post it?

  • Looking for book about building secured webpages

    Hi, I'm looking for a good book about building secured webpages, the use of SSL etc.
    Can't find much about this subject. Anyone?!
    Greetings BG

    It depends on what you wish to do and which language you wish to use (php, asp, .net, jave, etc), also which server you will be using.
    If you are new to the subject a good starting point would be a book on your preferred langages security, (e.g. PHP security, .net security), a simple search at any of the on-line book stores will deliver a long list (the newer ones are normally better as they cover the newer versions of the language).
    As for building an e-commerce system (or similar), the above books and a good book in programming generally is also helpful, (ensure it covers processing on-line payments).
    If you wish to build a 'ssl vpn', then I have found, "SSL VPN: Understanding, Evaluating and Planning Secure, Web-Based Remote Access" by  Joseph Steinberg a good start.

  • Build Ear: Ant vs workshop

    Why is when I build from Ant I get a different EAR file from when I build my EAR from within Workshop? for example the web.xml is missing form the WEB-INF. I'm sure there are other things missing. Is it using a different target? What's the deal?

    If you have got your jsp files precompiled, what to do next? Well, if all you want is to check your jsp files can be translated to classes, you are done. Otherwise, if you want oracle server to use the generated classes instead of the jsp files, then you need to
    1. add the generated classes to WEB-INF/classes of the .war file or put them inside a jar in WEB-INF/lib. If you applied ojspc to a .war or .ear file, the generated classes are already packaged in the page/oracle_jsp*.jar of your .war file; all you need to do in this step is to move that jar to WEB-INF/lib.
    2. change the init-param main_mode of JspServlet to justrun, in your web.xml.
    3. optionally remove your jsp files since they will not be used by the server. One catch here: if you use a jsp file as a welcome file as designated in your web.xml, you have to keep that jsp.
    4. repackage you .war file and then your .ear file.
    If you deploy your .war or .ear file now, the server will use the generated classes directly. Note in justrun mode, you can do not any hot deployment of your jsps in this web application.
    These steps are somehow missing from oracle documentation, although they can be figured out if one do understand the relevant concepts.
    These steps are being written into ojspc code, so if you apply ojspc to a war or ear in the developer preview 4 or the product version of 10.1.3, both of which are not out yet, it will be easier to manage.
    Hope I have said enough that you can get it done.

  • Build with ant in a new way

    Hello everyone,
    I'm not sure if the title is proper, but I have a project to upgrade to weblogic 10, along with the upgrade I'm going to enhance the build files. Currently we have 450 ant file. There are many dependencies and all build files have hardcoded paths such "c:\sourcecode ...". Our application is about 6000000 lOC. Anyway, my job is to replace these paths with properties and change some old ant tasks.
    You now imagine what I'm going to go through. Obviously, I need to edit 450 (can build tool for that) and do check in and out. Then test to make sure I didn't missed up with the dependency.
    I'm no expert in ANT but we did some evaluation to ANT, Maven, Jam and we found ANT is the best fit for our environment because we have some structuring issues.
    While working I have got this idea, however I'm not sure if it's the best, so I hope you can help here and give me your advice.
    I will create a utilityBuild.xml. This ant file will contain the entire tasks we perform in all the 450. Rest of 450 ant will perform call to this utilityBuild.xml whenever it needs to do something e.g .
    {color:#008000}<!-- Create Jar file of the classes in the ${tempdir} and then apply appc compilation on them-->{color}
    <ant inheritAll="true" dir="${ROOT}" antfile="${UTILITYBUILD}" target="appc"/>
    Note: UTILITYBUILD = utilityBuild.xml
    UtilityBuild.xml has this task as
    {color:#008000}<!-- Perform weblogic.appc on the given Jar file to generate the Skeleton files -->{color}
    <target name="appc" depends="jar.ejb" >
    <java classname="weblogic.appc" fork="yes">
    <sysproperty key="weblogic.home" value="${WL_HOME}"/>
    <arg line="-compiler javac ${appdir}/${jarfile}"/>
    <classpath>
    <pathelement path="$classpath"/>
    </classpath>
    </java>
    </target>
    The {color:#ff0000}*benefit*{color} of doing this is {color:#ff0000}*if we decide to use wlcompile and wlappc instead of the above we only need to change one place utilityBuild.xml*{color} . I understand that I can make a custom ant task instead of relying on the properties that's passed when calling the child ant task.
    {color:#0000ff}*For complete Source file* {color}
    UtilityBuild.xml
    <project name="SIMIS" basedir=".">

  • Some questions about building  a plug in

    Hello,
    1.I'm trying to build a plug in ( for EM12c release 2 ) for my standalone java application - which exposes mbeans whom i want to collect some metrics with.
    It's been a while since i started to build it - and I asked quite a lot of quesions about it - because the documnets supplied with the EDK and
    the books ( ProgrammersGuide, ProgrammersReferece and the README file ) are not very clear to me ( I'm a newbie with EM in general .. )
    So far some of the questions got answered and were very halpfull with this long process. BUT, there are some questions that nobody answered yet.
    I'm quite "stuck" with it. I'm talking about the questions in : Re: A question about updating metadata files in plug in
    I have a deadline for this plug in ( which is very close ..) so this the reason I post this new message.
    I will appriciate any help about those questions .
    2. Regarding the above, ( hoping to have an answered soon ..) I'm trying another way to buils this plug in:
    In the README file there is this section( 3.6 : using MPCUI ) . I read the programmersReference ( chapter 8 ) and followed the instructions both in the README file and the ProgrammersReference .
    For a begining, I just wanted to modify a small thing in the example supplied ( Demo Host System ) just to get started with something .
    So i modify the file which contains the label ' Select member ... ' ( i don't remember the name of the file since the project is in my office , and I can't copy/paste ..- I think the the file icontians the name ' ConfirmationTarget .xml - it's one of the pages seen while adding a target ) .
    I i changed it , i build the project ( using FlexBuilder) but did not use ANT as it's says in the README - the eclipse IDE build this file automatically
    ( HostSystem.swf  in bin-debug dir as it says in the README ) . I copied this file to stage_dir/oms/metadata/mpcui .
    i build a new plug in ( i incremented the version of it ) - no errors, everty thing was fine .I also copied this file to the oms server ( it wasn't there before )
    and than run the commad ' emctl register oms ...' as it says in section 3.6 - and o got 'Success' eventually .
    Now, when i opened the EM console , hoping to see tge change i made ( again , it's just a change of the title of the step while adding the target , and adding another menuitem to the 3 item that were alreay there ( CPU, FS, etc ) .
    I believe wad i did is right- i mean changing in the right file and place ( there is no title like like this in any oter source file in the whole project )
    but still, I didn't see any change! it seems execatly as it was befoer the change ..
    Any idea?
    Thanks.

    Regarding your question #2. Please read my response here carefully as it covers a number of different issues.
    1. Ant is not required to build the SWF file in your plug-in. It is an OPTION. Section 8.27 describes the different development options using either Ant or FlexBuilder.
    2. You do NOT need to ever copy a SWF file to any location under the OMS runtime. You need to include it in the stage area and then either build an OPAR or use emctl to incrementally update the deployed plug-in. It has to either be deployed as part of the plug-in deployment or updated incrementally using emctl register oms metadata. Section 8.27.2.6 describes the specific steps to do this incremental update.
    Steps to update the SWF associated with demo_hostsample. These are covered in the README and in chapter 8.
    1. deploy the demo_hostsample plug-in as described in the README
    2. create an instance of the Host Sample target type through manually discovery (Add Targets->Add Non-Host Target Specifying Properties)
    3. using the demo_hostsample.zip project in Flex Builder, modify some part of the code, for example, modify the line containing label="Current Status" to label="My New Label"
    4. rebuild the SWF, to be sure you can to a Clean build of the demo_hostsample project
    5. ensure there is an updated copy of the HostSample.swf under demo_hostsample\mpcui\bin-debug (NOT bin-release, unless you Exported A Release Build)
    6. copy that updated HostSample.swf file to the location on the OMS machine where you unzipped and built the OPAR for the demo_hostsample plug-in
    7. cd to the stage/oms/metadata/mpcui directory and replace the current HostSample.swf with the one you just built (BE SURE ITS THE UPDATED FILE)
    8. execute the command "emctl register oms metadata -sysman_pwd sysman -pluginId oracle.sysman.ohs -service mpcui -file demo_hostsample_uimd_swf.xml (BE SURE TO USE THE CORRECT sysman_pwd)
    At this point you should be able to go to the homepage for the Host Sample target you created and see the changes.

  • Building with Ant

    Hi,
    I try to build my application using Ant. Here is the fragment
    from build.xml:
    <java jar="${flex.mxmlc.jar}" fork="true">
    <arg line="-file-specs ${src.dir}/${app.name}.mxml"/>
    <arg line="-load-config ${flex.dist.config}"/>
    </java>
    When I run this, I get this error:
    [java] command line: Error: default arguments may not be
    interspersed with other options
    [java] Use 'mxmlc -help' for information about using the
    command line.
    When I do not use "-load-config" option, I get following:
    [java] defaults: Error: unable to open './flex-config.xml'
    What is wrong?
    Thanks.
    .Vlad.

    I wasn't able to reproduce the first error you got. But the
    second error happens for me.
    Somehow, invoking mxmlc.jar from a directory other than the
    flex frameworks directory leads to an error where it's looking for
    files relative to flex frameworks.
    I got around this by specifying a dir to invoke the VM in.
    i.e
    <property name="flex.dir" value="c:\flex\sdk" />
    <property name="flex.mxmlc.jar"
    value="${flex.dir}/lib\mxmlc.jar" />
    <java jar="${flex.mxmlc.jar}" dir="${flex.dir}/frameworks"
    fork="true">
    <arg line="-file-specs ${src.dir}/${app.name}.mxml"/>
    </java>

  • Build EJB in Workshop that can build in Ant outside of EAR

    In a project I work on, we have a directory structure that contains individual
    components with their own build scripts. Some of these components construct ejb
    jars as their output. We also have a separate component that uses the WLS Ant
    tasks to construct an ear, pulling in the ejb-jars and other components built
    from the other directories.
    One person attempted to use Workshop to define the EJB classes to compose the
    component. We were intending to use the WLS Ant tasks to compile those classes
    into an ejb jar. What they found (and I'm afraid I don't know the particular
    problems they had) was that the components buildable in Workshop have to be inside
    an EAR directory structure. Apparently the WLS Ant tasks can't work outside of
    that structure.
    Has anyone else noticed this? Are there strategies for dealing with this?

    Check this URL : http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/webserv/anttasks.html i found
    there the way to do the ant task whit workshop.

  • J2EE Tutorial: Exception when building with ant

    I am trying to build the converter example on page 48 of the J2EE tutorial using ant. Ant seems to choke on the following line from the build.xml:
    <property environment="myenv" />
    The output of the "ant converter" command is:
    Buildfile: build.xml
    init:
    BUILD FAILED

    My best guess is that the "myenv" line in the build.xml requires some additional attribute. I'm using ant version 1.3. My OS is Solaris (noted for possible environment-related issues).
    Thanks in advance!
    Eric Smith

    On Windows XP Pro, the line
    <property environment="myenv" />
    in the init target of build.xml for the j2ee tutorial examples triggers a windows error message:
    16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem
    =======================
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntvdm.exe
    Error while setting up environment for the application. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.
    <<Close>> <<Ignore>>
    So it looks as if ant is trying and failing to access the winnt system environment here.
    According to Ant Developers Handbook (Sams, October 2002, chapter 4, p. 151), the ant environment property "specifies a prefix, giving access to OS-specific environment variables. This is not supported on all platforms." Until this problem is fixed, it appears that on XP systems anyway, any ant settings in build.xml files that rely on direct access to the system environment will fail. Here is some debug output from the j2ee tutorial examples init target which demonstrates this:
    C:\apps\j2sdkee1.3.1\j2eetutorial\examples>ant init
    Buildfile: build.xml
    init:
    [echo] starting init target
    [echo] reached marker 1
    [echo] reached marker 2
    [echo] value of J2EE_HOME is ${myenv.J2EE_HOME}
    [echo] finished init target
    BUILD SUCCESSFUL
    where the task:
    <property environment="myenv" />
    (which generates the OS error popup noted above) occurs between marker 1 and marker 2. Clearly the value of J2EE_HOME is NOT being successfully read from the system environment here.

  • Flex 2 charting trial watermark appears when building via Ant

    The trial watermark appears when building with the flex Ant
    tasks, but not via Flex Builder 2. I believe the Ant tasks set up
    the compiler options with the same arguments in FB, and the build
    library path is also the same, but the trial watermark still
    appears.
    The charting source has been extracted into the Flex SDK 2
    directory, and the license key appears in the
    frameworks/license.properties file. As far as I know, these are the
    only steps needed to install the paid version of the charting
    tools. If I missed something, please let me know.
    Thanks in advance,
    KaJun

    Just an update on this issue:
    If I run the mxmlc compiler from the command line, I found
    that the output .swf does not have the watermark. It seems to be a
    bug in the Adobe Flex Ant tasks. I've changed the build script to
    use an exec call to the compiler instead.
    Thanks,
    KaJun

  • Library Projects compiled using Flash Builder and ANT have different outputs

    Hi Guys.,
    I am really having hard time to get something work right with RSL projects in Flex 3.2 SDK. Here is my weird problem.
    I have a library projects which has the following settings in Flash Builder
    Link Type : External
    airglobal.swc
    framework.swc
    datavisualization.swc
    rpc.swc
    utilites.swc
    applicationupdater.swc
    applicationupdater_ui.swc
    Link Type: Merged into code
    airframework.swc
    servicemonitor.swc
    Compiler settings

    When I compile my library projects I get a MyLibraryproject.swc. The SWC has the following files in it
    mx/controls/HTML.png
    mx/core/Windows.png
    library.swf
    Note: airframework.swc and servicemonitor.swc has a many png files and properties files in it. But these properties and png files are not included when compiled in Flash builder.
    But when the same project is compiled using ANT compc task, i get all the png and properties files from airframework.swc and servicemonitor.swc files into my library project SWC file.

    #1, If it compiles then you have no issue. There's no reason at this point not to use 4.6. You should bundle a captive runtime to assure the users computer won't need to have AIR installed at all.
    #2, Papervision is old. Use the Stage3D and/or a wrapper framework. As far as the generic "If I download lots of data will it take the user more time to load it", well, of course. Just don't make the loading experience painful. Entertain them while they way or find ways of displaying data sooner than later. If it's desirable on the web has more to do with the context of the app and the device displaying it. In other words, a phone user would find it easy but obviously not a desktop user.
    #3, Definitely referring you to Google on that one.

    #5, This discussion would be way too large for a forum. You'd need to consult a firm experienced in AR development.
    #6, "Applications using the commercial license do not have to provide source code, but must pay a licensing fee. Contact ARToolworks at [email protected] for more information." They will base your price on your product, there is no single price.
    #7, The models could be huge and elaborate or tiny and simple which changes the answer. Consult the answer in #4. Ultimately most people are getting on fast networks with mobile and excessively fast on desktop/wifi. Size matters a lot less than 3 years ago.
    #8, Depends on what you're doing. You have to explain it.
