Does Weblogic has something called ?Administration Mode? and if answer is yes does it also report web logic service as ?not running?.
can we take Weblogic backup and if answer is yes what do we backup?

application/server/etc is running or not.
can we take
Weblogic backup and if answer is yes what do we backup? The config directory + the application itself are important
When can we say
that web logic is unstable? If it crashes :)

  • Problem about weblogic server

When I first started Weblogic, at that time, the database server wasn’t available, so there was a lot of error about the database connection pool, and definitely the application didn’t work properly, so I realized that because of the database server ka. But after the database server was available, I worked on the application again but it seem like weblogic server didn’t update and still kept the state that it couldn’t find the connection pool although it had already there. Is it possible to make weblogic server automatically update when the database server is available. Any solution to resolve this problem?

In wich version of weblogic ? I 5.1 may be .... from 7.0 to up I don't think so ....
I supose that you don't enable the refresh/testing parameters of jdbc pool.
Please check the e-docs to see more information

  • About WebLogic Server domain failover

    Hi Gurus,
I have ran into problem when we have primary site failover to secondary site. If we want to have this failover automated, how should we configure? If this is a site to site failover which means IP will be changed, how can we do it without interrupt the original encryption.
I suppose we need to copy
    1. config.xml
    2. filerealm.properties
    3. boot.properties
    4. SerializedSystemIni.dat
    5. anything inside /security folder.. etc
The WebLogic Server version is 10.3.0

    Hi Kal,
    Thanks for your reply.
Could you or anyone else comment on whether to replicate the primary site's configuration to the DR side or keep using the DR side's own configuration? What is the proper approach. p.s. There will be difference anyway, e.g. IP, hostname, etc.
I have read some posts talking about a workaround to start the wls installation with development mode and then change encrypted text to clear text and then change to production mode.

  • WebLogic Server EAR Deployment Queries!

    Hi All,
I have few queries with respect to EAR deployment in BEA WebLogic Server
    a) we have a requirement wherein we need to deploy the modified EAR file to one node in a cluster, whereas the other node will still continue to use the old EAR file. Is that possible in a production environment?
    b) we also have a requirement wherein we need to bring down the cluster and start the servers as independent servers instead of a clustered servers from command line without logging into the weblogic server console
    c) we have one more requirement wherein we have all the configuration xml files for each web application in a EAR File. We need a way to deploy the configuration xml file separately if there is a change only to the configuration xml file. Is that possible?
Also, we need to deploy a specific web application in a EAR file instead of re-creating the EAR again. Like an emergency release of one or more web application in a EAR.
    d) Is that possible to update the JAR file and WAR file dynamically which are deployed as part of the EAR file.
Any pointers to info source will be REALLY appreciated.
    Wiating for your reply.

  • Want document about  weblogic 5.1,6.1 , 7.0 and 8.1 server performace matrix

    hi,Guys
Where can I find the document about weblogic 5.1,6.1 , 7.0 and 8.1
server performace matrix? currently we want to update our system from
5.1 to the most recent WLS, everyone know WLS 8.1 is running faster than
5.1, who can tell me how faster it can be based on very generically way.
    thanks,
    Roy

Where can I find the document about weblogic 5.1,6.1 , 7.0 and 8.1
server performace matrix?Roy asks a great question - and I've been searching Weblogic site for the info
    myself.
From a management perspective, it takes time and money to upgrade to the latest
    WLS.
I need to put together a business case for management illustrating a Cost/Benefits
    analysis.
If I can point to sources were people upgraded from 5.1/1.3.1 to 8.0/1.3.1 and
achived an XX% increase; then I can relate that to the cost of upgrading hardware/etc
    - and better decide where to spend the money.
If anybody has the numbers or experience - I'd love to hear from you.
    Thanks

  • Query about the steps for Weblogic Server Upgrade from 8.1 to 10.3

    Hi!
We have planned to upgrade our Weblogic Server from 8.1 to 10.3. Could anyone advise me:
    1. How to upgrade the Weblogic Server from 8.1 to 10.3? Can the Weblogic Server 10.3 coexist with the Weblogic Server 8.1 in one physical server?
    2. Where can the upgrade software be downloaded?
    3. We have a web service currently running under Weblogic Workshop as the Weblogic Server is started via the workshop. Can this web service be run under Weblogic Server 10.3?
    4. Are there any foreseeable issues/problems that will happen?
Please kindly help me. Thanks a lot.
    Best Regards
    May

    Download location: http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/wls_main.html
You can upgrade the domain after you install wls 10.3 using QuickStart.
When we migrated we have moved from windows to linux. We have installed, created domain, created managed servers, configured, etc. from scratch. We didn't face any 'show stopper' issues.

  • Question about creating new tables using SQL script in WebLogic Server

    Hi,
I am new to WebLogic and I am following a book Java EE Development with Eclipse published by PACKT Publishing to learn
Java EE.  I have installed Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse on the PC and I am able to log into the WebLogic Server Administration Console
and set up a Data Source.  However the next step is to create tables for the database.  The book says that the tables can be created using
SQL script run from the SQL command line.
I cannot see any way of inputting SQL script into the WebLogic Server Admistration Console.  Aslo there is no SQL Command line in DOS.
    Thanks  for your help.
    Brian.

Sounds like you are to run the scripts provided by a tutorial to create the tables, right?  In that case, you may need to install an Oracle client to connect to your database.  The client is automatically installed with the database, so if you have access to the server that hosts the database, you should be able to run SQLplus from there.
As far as I know, there is no way to run a script from the Admin Console.  I could be wrong, however.

Thread dump gives hint that socket connections between Weblogic and LDAP became unreponsive.
    Would suggest following
    o Restart Weblogic Server
o Monitor LDAP server for potential long running ldap search queries.
If above doesn't help, do netstat -a for more details about socket connections. It may help to understand if network communication is an issue or not. Involve n/w engineer if it needs.

  • XML Beans and Weblogic Server 8.1

    Hi,
Does anyone know if XML beans is shipped with Weblogic 8.x (or is it only part
    of the Weblogic Workshop) ?
    Thanks,
    Arun

    Greg,
The classes required for running these command line tools are all there, but
we have not put the script files in the version bundled with WebLogic
server. Its very likely to be part of the next service pack release.
Meanwhile, you can always run the classes from the command line, or write
your own script. For instance, the dumpxsb.cmd has the following:
    set cp=
    set cp=%cp%;%XMLBEANDIR%\xbean.jar
    java -classpath %cp% com.bea.xbean.tool.XsbDumper %*
So you can always write this on your own, or just run the concerned class
    from the command line.
Let me know if you have any further queries.
    Regards,
    Anurag

    Hi,
Is it possible to use the version of xmlbeans bundled with workshop in a
standalone sense? Are all the command line tools there? If so can yougive
a pointer to where abouts in the Workshop download to look for this.
The reason I ask is noting the following I saw -:
Note: XQuery is currently only available with the version of XMLBeans
included with WebLogic Platform. We hope to add these capabilities to the
    stand-alone version soon.

    Arun,
WebLogic Platform 8.1 GA which includes Workshop does contain an
    xmlbeans
    implementation.
We also have a stand alone implementation which is available on dev2dev.

  • Error when starting Weblogic server

    Wizards,
I installed the OPA Siebel connector.  I had it working just fine for a while.  I even added a new rulebase into the war and it was fine.  As part of the implementation I am trying to add a new plugin to automatically save data at the end of the interview.  I looked at the documentation and found we have to implement a specific event handler.  After I added my jar into the plugins directory in the WAR, I am getting the following error, which seems to have nothing to do with my plugin.  Can someone please tell me why this is occurring and how I can get the Weblogic server to recognize the plugins directory within the WAR?

    Ian,
Thanks for your response.  I have the following in my application.properties file:
    plugin.libraries=com.oracle.determinations.web.siebel.SiebelDataAdapter;com.oracle.determinations.web.siebel.PreseedOnSessionCreatedHandler;com.sample.userplugins.automation.SessionSubmitTrigger
Additionally, I have placed the SessionSubmitTrigger class within a JAR in the plugins directory within the war.  I am using Oracle WebLogic 10.3 as the app server to deploy the war within the AdminServer. And I am using OPA 10.4.3.
I should mention that the first two entries in the plugin.libraries property were there already as part of the Siebel Connector install.  I just added the third one for OnInvestigationEndedEventHandler implementation.
I don't understand why Weblogic complains about not finding the Plugins directory. it is in my war. And despite the warning, I can access and navigate through my rulebase.  It just doesn't seem to handle the OnInvestigationEndedEvent.
    Thanks.

  • SP2 Installation Problem on Weblogic Server 6.1SP1

    hi,
i encountered a problem installing sp2 to my second server.
(Windows 2000 Advance Server with SP2, dual Xeon CPU, 3GB, 200GB.
    Weblogic Server 6.1 with SP1 installed at d:\bea) x 2
installation file itself is valid. as installation at server 1 was successful. however,
    when installing at server 2:
    1) by double clicking on the exe - blank GUI popup appeared on screen without any
usual text (first screen that reads: welcome - the installer will guide you....).
all three buttons were there. click on the next buttons all the way would give a
title 'installation complete' without any delay. sp2 was not installed.
    2) by running exe from console - GUI popup appeared normally. however, when prompted
to select bea home, selecting the default folder at d:\bea and when clicking on next
button, a popup would appear claiming that weblogic server home is not found at d:\bea.
    and process discontinued.
    the beahomelist is found at c:\bea, with content reading correctly as d:\bea;c:\bea;
Previous SP1 installation on server 2 about 2 months back was successful.
would appreciate for ur input. thanks a lot in advance.

    Hi Laurent,
Thank you very much for ur reply.
My Weblogic Server is installed in D:\bea. Just like the Server 1

I am kind of worried by this as it is nearing production and I am running

    Hello Keigo,
It seems that the problem comes when your server is installed in the
directory where the beahomelist file is located. Am I correct when I
assume that the installation fails when you install the service pack 2
over the server installed in c:\bea?

  • 64 bit Weblogic Server 10.3.2 installation on Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 ?

    Hi,
I'm trying to install 64 bit version of Weblogic Server 10.3.2 on my 64 bit OS Windows Server 2008 R2 SP2.
Firstly I downloaded "jdk-6u24-windows-x64.exe" and installed it on my 64 bit platform.
I downloaded "wls1032_generic.jar" and try to install it by the command below
    "java -d64 -jar wls1032_generic.jar"
however I got the message below
    Unrecognized option: -d64
Couldn't create the Java virtual machine
Any options about this problem. Where am I making mistake?

    Hi,
You need to make sure the following things :
1). If you want to run your WLS on W 64 bit mode then You need to use Generic Jar installer Example: *"java -jar wls1032_generic.jar"*
2). The above Jar should be installed only using a 64 Bit JVM so that all the 64 bit libraries will be available with the WebLogic while installing it. So first of all Download a 64 Bit JVM in your Woindows box.
Then just run the following command to check if the JVM is 6t4 bit or not:
    set JAVA=HOME=C:\My64BitJDK\jdk1.6.0_21
    *$JAVA_HOME\bin\java -version*
3). Now u can run your WebLogic Installer like following:
    *$JAVA_HOME\bin\java -jar wls1032_generic.jar*
