Queries in workbook switched to non input ready automatically

Hi,
For some reason in a workbook (maybe locking issue or workbook change), the queries in the workbook become not input ready. To fix the problem, we need to go in each query and select the Option "Allow entries of planned values".
Would anybody have some idea about to fix the issue?
Thanks a lot,
Patrick

Hi ,
I rem I had the same issue . I dont have access to IP currently , however in the properties of the analysis item for the data provider there should be an option called "Always open in input mode".Once I checked that the planning query always opened in input mode.
Also on the planning query there should be an option as well.
Thanks,
Madhu

  • Text variables for non-input ready variables

    I have a query with a structure in the Rows section.  The row structure contains three selections for different time periods.  Two of the time periods are based on non-input ready variables for Calendar Month.  The user will enter a calendar month and the other two selections will be based on the month that was inputted.  Since the time periods are dynamic, I need the text in the rows to reflect the appropriate Cal. Month value.  I have tried using a customer exit to define text variables but they are not working.  My text variables are called "CMON_TXT_D01" and "CMON_TXT_D02".  If the user selects 'Dec. 2010', the report would look like this
    Dec. 2010  => user inputs this value
    &CMON_TXT_D01&  => customer exit calculates -1 month back from inputted value
    &CMON_TXT_D01&  => customer exit calculates -2 month back from inputted value
    I need it to look like this if the inputted value was 'Dec. 2010'
    Dec. 2010
    Nov. 2010
    Oct. 2010
    I can get the text variable based on the input-ready variable to work but the two selections that are based on the non-input ready variables are not working.  Does anyone know how to get the text variables to work for the non-inpjut ready variables?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    I would do it this way;
    1) Create a Row Structure
    5) Create a Text Var whose processing is by Replacement Path & choose Variable with the User Input Var under Replacement Path options
    6) Edit the Description of each of the 3 Row Selections to contain the Text Var in (5)
    7) The Text Var should automatically reflect the User Input selection & the offsets defined on the same in the Row Selection Captions

  • How to set input ready query cell is different color?

    Dear All
      Hi, everyone, hereby i have a IP question.
      i would like to know, how to set the input ready query's cell different color between those cell which is unable to change value one in workbook..?
    Example :
      For my workbook which have a input ready query,
      i have 4 rows for my input ready query report.
      For the first row which is not input ready cell and unable to change any value for the cell, then following rows's cell can be change value,
      so, i would like to make first row's color cell different with following row's cell.
      In additional, all value of cell is initial zero.
      therefore, is there any mehtod to make different color between able cell and unable cell?
    Thanks a million.
    Regards,
    WenLong.

    Cells in the input ready query result have different styles given by SAP. All rows will have one style, column headings will have one style whereas input ready cells will have one style. If you are in Excel 2003, put cursor in the input ready cell, goto format -> style, you can see one BeX style attached to that cell, apply watever color you want for that style, save the workbook. If you do this for one cell, it will be applied to all the input ready cells by default. In the same way you can give different color to the non input ready cell styles. In Excel 2007, Cell styles are available in Home -> Cell styles. Here you can see all Bex related styles.

  • Problem with the behaviour of input ready key figure

    Dear All,
    I am using one input ready key figure in a globally reusable key figure structure for my planning layout. When the input ready query is executed as such, the i/p ready key figure is readily available for inputting any data (as expected), but the moment the global reference from the key figure structure is removed in the query designer (from the context menu - > Remove Reference), that i/p ready key figure structure turns out to be non input ready and hence no entering of data is then possible.
    I am removing the reference from the structure for some other editing purpose but the above mentioned problem comes in between.
    The only input that i can provide is that this i/p ready key figure utilizes two hidden inverse formulas, but eventhough things are fine when the reference is not removed.

    Hello Durgesh,
    I suspect this to be a bug. Please open a customer message so SAP support can analyze the issue (include technical names of the original query with global structure and your new query where the reference was removed; put it on component BW-PLA-IP-QD).

  • Input Ready Queries in Workbook are taking lots of time to save

    Hi Folks,
    We have workbook which contains input ready queries. When user enter planning values and save the inputted values then it is taking more than 30 minutes to save the data to real time infocube. We have some VBA code on this workbook which is used for formatting and displaying pop-ups when user enters wrong values. Even though we have VBA it should not be taking 30 mins to save.
    Please suggest what might have went wrong.

  • Workbook does not contain any input-ready variables

    Hello Experts,
    We have one workbook which is not reacting when click on REFRESH or SHOW VARIABLE.
    If clicked on VARIABLE screen it is throwing error "The workbook does not contain any input-ready variables" (screenshot attached)
    Points I have checked are as below
    1. If I create a new workbook by executing the respective query and refresh then it is working.
    2. The file is in xls format and I have checked the USE XLS format under Global setting.
    3. My Excel version is 2010. SAP version is SAPKW70105. BEx 7.X, support package 8.
    4. It is not authorization issue otherwise the issue would have happened for the new workbook I created for testing.
    5. Also I tested with user ID with SAP ALL access.
    is there any way to repair the workbook so that it respond to Variable and refresh options ?
    Thanks,

  • Input ready queries not working after upgrading to 7.4

    Hello Gurus,
    for my application I have put the queries in WAD. Everything was working till 7.2. After upgrading to 7.4 I recieve error for ready to input queries. Rest of the queries are fine. Even in Analyzer I dont get the option to save the Values for input queries.
    I couldn't find any document on this. Do you have any Idea why is the behaviour toward Input ready query changed after upgrade?
    Thanks in adv.

    Yeah, that's happened to me a bunch, it's a pain the the arse. Delete your shortcut and create a new one.
    To do this navigate to the c:\program files\iTunes folder (assuming you've selected the default location) and find the iTunes.exe file using the right mouse button right click on it and you should get a menu with an option to create a shortcut. Once the shortcut is created you can drag it and drop it wherever you need, start menu, desktop or quick launch bar.

  • Problem with compound objects in IP input-ready queries

    Hi, gurus!
    I have following problem:
    In IP input-ready query I have 2 restricted key figures (KF1 and KF2):
    KF1 restrictions:
          Char1 = X1
          Char2 = 100
    KF2 restrictions:
          Char1 = X2
          Char2 = 100
    Char2 is compound with Char1, so KF1 should be restricted as Char2 = X1/100.
    That query in example doesn't work, all cells are grey. But, If I'll change restriction of Char2 in any key figures everything will be fine. It looks like the system ignores Char1 restriction. E.g.
    KF1 restrictions:
          Char1 = X1
          Char2 = 101
    KF2 restrictions:
          Char1 = X2
          Char2 = 100
    (Ok)
    I think it is some kind of system error, but can't find the related Nota. Maybe somebody already solved the same problem?
    Edited by: Mikhail Sychev on Jun 28, 2011 8:54 AM

    Hi Mikhail,
    This is typical issue with compounded infoobjects.
    I can think about 2 solutions.
    1) Create a hierarchy on the compounded infoobject and restrict the KFs by hierarchy nodes rather than direct filter values on the infoobject.
    2) If not, create an nav attribute on the compunded infoobject, in which you have to concatenate values of both the character values like 'X1100'. You this navigational attribute in the keyfigure filter.

  • Locking Keyfigures in input ready queries based on characteristic conditions

    Hi All
    I have a input ready report in WAD where I have to lock the fields according to a particular status. Basically we have different users accessing the report and only certain rows based on status should be input ready and others should be locked for input.
    Please let me know how this can be implements and steps to do this if possible

  • Actual values & Plan Values Entry in the same Input Ready Query

    Hi Gurus,
    I have a problem about preparing input ready queries with combination of actual data and plan data together. Forexample :
    I want to plan my sales quantity for estimate months ( 9,10,11,12 ). But in same query, i want to show sales quantities in actual months (1.....8 ) .  I have one key figure : Sales Quantity and two versions : Actual and Plan. And restrictions are like below :
    Actual Sales :
    Key figure : Sales Quantity
    Version : Actual
    Fiscal Periods : 9,10,11,12
    Fiscal year : 2008
    (values cannot be changed)
    Plan Sales :
    Key figure : Sales quantity
    Version : Plan
    Fiscal Periods : 1.....8
    Fiscal Year : 2008
    (values can be changed by inputs or planning functions)
    I did those restrictions to key figures in ''columns''  area in BEX Query Designer. And i also added 0FISCPER3 to ''columns'' area in order to see periods in query.
    I expect to see a 12 months period, which has 8 months actual and 4 months open for planning.
    But when i execute the query, it shows me two 12 months periods. Like, Actual Sales 1......12 and following Plan Sales 1.....12 side by side.  But i want to combine those two 12 months periods in one year.
    Where do i make mistake? or is it how system works?
    I would really appreciate for your answers.
    Thanks,
    Fatih...

    Hi,
    Actions in details:
    1. Run BEx Analyzer, connect to the system;
    2. Open the workbook;
    3. Workbook is opened, press the button "Design Mode";
    4. ALT+F11 for opening VB Editor;
    5. Insert new module "Module1" in project of my workbook (not in BExAnalyzer.xla);
    6. Write the code of macros "ON_BEX_REFRESH";
    7. Close the VB Editor window;
    8. BEx Analyzer window is still in design mode, press the button "Workbook Settings";
    9. In "General" tab mark the checkbox "Refresh Workbook on Open";
    10. In "Exits" tab mark the radiobutton "Invoke macro on refresh" and write "ON_BEX_REFRESH" in the textbox;
    11. Press the button "Attach Macros", appears the message "VBA Macros have been succesfully Attached to the Workbook", press OK for accepting the message;
    12. Press "OK" to close the Workbook Settings window;
    13. Press the button "Exit Design Mode";
    14. Click on right mouse button on table (on inserted query), choose "Transfer Values";
    15. If macros is working, press "Save Workbook".
    I'm using BEx Support Package 16. Therefore it is possible, if I remember correctly, that in older versions of BEx the names of some tabs in workbook settings are different.
    If you are using older version of BEx and these 14 steps don't help you, then try to do the following in next steps:
    15. Press the button "Design Mode";
    16. Open Analysis Grid Properties (select table, click on right mouse button, properties);
    17. In 'General' tab do so that none checkbox is marked;
    18. Press OK;
    19. Press the button "Exit Design Mode";
    20. Click on right mouse button on table (on inserted query), choose "Transfer Values";
    If now macros is working then you can start to find out which checkboxes you can mark and which have to be unmarked in Analysis Grid Properties.
    In my case 3 checkboxes is marked: "Apply Formatting"; "Allow Navigation"; "Display Hierarchy Icons". As I mentioned above it is in BEx SP16, if you have older version then you have to find out the checkboxes which you can use, which not.

  • How to write data in the Infocube using BI IP input ready functionality

    Hi All,
    Please help me in the following scenario...
    Input given to me is-- ZCUBSDID cube with associated role ZSP_BW_SAI_BUDGETS-DID_ALL.
    Query is ZR_V7_CO_PA_CH_PB_DID_BUDGET_2 based on agregation level ZALBSDID (& ZALBVDID) in infoarea ZDACOPA.
    I have to write data in the cube by using Input-Ready functionality of BI IP. Can you please provide me step by step procedure for writing the data in the cube as i am very new in IP side.
    Also if any further input required just let me know.
    My Analysis-> I checked that cube is in Planning mode and in Query Designer>Property Pane-->Planning Pane, Query is in Change mode and also associated Keyfigures are in Input-Ready enabled.
    Also i am able to access query in Analyzer.
    This is very critical for me and need to provide solution asap. Please update asap. It really be great help.
    Thanks & Regards
    Rupali Singh

    Hi,
      To enter data in to planning cube through manual planning, you can do the following,
    1. In a query that is used for manual planning, a cell is only input ready if each characteristic value of all the characteristics included in the aggregation level is unique. None of the aggregated values on the aggregation level are therefore input ready: Totals, subtotals and inner hierarchy nodes are not input ready.
    2. To be able to change values for calculated key figures (like Average Price as a quotient of Amount and Quantity), these must be based on input-ready formulas, and at least one operand must be input ready. More information: Defining Inverse Formulas (Designtime) and Inverse Formulas (Runtime).
    3. In order to change aggregated values (with respect to the aggregation level), these values must be disaggregated on all the data records that contribute to the aggregated value of the cell. More information: Disaggregation (Top-Down-Distribution).
    4. If a query used for manual planning includes a navigation attribute that is restricted using a fixed or dynamic filter or a restricted key figure, the system treats the navigation attribute as a normal characteristic. The rule under point 1 applies here. The system only reacts as though the navigation attribute were not part of the query if the navigation attribute is not restricted.
    5. In a query defined on a MultiProvider or a complex aggregation level that you want to use manual planning for, a cell is not input ready if the InfoProvider that is defined by this cell is:
                                a.      Not a real-time InfoCube
                                b.      A real-time InfoCube that has been switched to load mode
    6. If an input-ready query is executed in change mode, but the requested data is locked by another user, the query starts in display mode.

  • IP: Use of input-ready variable in planning function

    Dear all,
    I'm using an input-ready variable for fiscal year (0P_FYEAR) in my input ready query. It's used for restricting my columns.
    I'd like to use the value of this variable in my planning function and I use VARV for that in the FOX.
    However, when implementing the pl.function as a button in the BEx Analyzer I need to fill in the static parameters the VAR_VALUE_1 with a value.
    If I delete this line from the static parameters my plfunction end swith an error.
    I like this value of course to be filled with value of fiscal year entered by the user when starting the query.
    Does anybody know how to solve this?
    Kind regards, Harjan

    Hi Johannes,
    Thanks for all the useful information!
    Another thing on using PF.
    I've got two workbooks with different queries but using <u>same</u> filter.
    Queries differ in keyfigures, but are on same cubes in MultiProvider.
    I can run the workbooks simultaneously: no locks occur.
    I've got two planning functions that make calculations on the keyfigures entered in the workbook.
    However when I inplement the PF's in both workbooks and assign the dataprovider as filter, i do get locks!
    So, the PF also uses the same filter, but doesn't take into account the different keyfigures.
    In the fox-formula i don't have the option to make conditions on keyfigure values (field keyfigname), neither to enter them in the filter.
    Do you have any thoughts on this?
    <u>Second</u> point:
    When i filter on a navigational attribute and execute the pf, i get errors on my pf.
    It states it can't find the value of the characteristic to which the navigational attr belongs. F.i. when i filter on nav attr 'customer group'  (attr of char 'customer') and execute pf, the system gives an error on the value of char 'customer'.
    It states: value of characteristic customer is notincluded in the selection.
    Any thoughts on this one?
    Thanks in advance!
    Kind regards, Harjan
