Query bit tough

I have data like Aol.16 I would like to strip it out unit Aol.16
Means it will display me only 16 How can update this records.
Thanks

Is that the only way data is organized or are there any other variations of storing the data?
If this is the only way, you could use INSTR to get thelocation of '.' and feed that into your SUBSTR
as start_location + 1 to get the trailing data after the '.'

  • WMI query through ASA Firewall

    I'm a newbie - please be patient
We have an ASA firewall that has several DMZ VLANs.
A support company that responsible for the SQL Servers wants to use WMI to query server health.
Their monitoring server currently on the internal lan, eight SQL servers on the internal lan and six of the SQL Servers are in the DMZ.
Two of the SQL Servers in the DMZ are 2003x32 Standard Edition and four are 2008R2x64 Enterprise Edition
The question is the ports that need to be open for Windows 2003 is concerningly large tcp/1025-65535, tcp/135
What are everyone’s thoughts on opening up such a large range?
Is there a better way of doing this – unfortunately getting the monitoring software rewritten is not an option and nor is going Linux
    Thanks
PS - if this has already been asked can someone point me to the discussions

    Hi
I would say that that is a No No
But that depends on the environment, for some (most) i woulds say its not ok, but some might feel that they do not need that much security.
WMI is a bit tough on firewalls.
But there are ways to limit the ports used by WMI
fx you can set it to use Fixed ports. and so on.
Sure it makes the server guys a little less happy since it does not work from the start and they have to make some changes but the added security is well worth the fight.
Here is a link to solarwinds for people with the same problem.and an answer that seems to work

  • We've updated computers at the radio station...now missing an 'important' FX feature query

    Good Morning fellow users,
We've updated our computers at the 6 radio stations I work for...all 6 production rooms and studios (for those not using VoxPro, myself included:)) to newer, core 'i' machines from the old school Pentium 4s we had which were on their last let (yet ran Audition 3.X) just fine. The newer machines are nice. They're signifcantly quicker chewing through mp3s, conversion betweeen and to different formats...but obviously, it's older softare that isn't able to take advantage of 64Bit or Multiple cores...so other than having a more reliable, speedier version...until we can convince the 'suits' to be that we need to bump up to the latest version, we'll be using said 3.X
That said, one of the main features we've been unable to figure out how to get back to our defaut 'edit' screen is the little volume knob that pops up while a segment of the audio is selected. IE, you've clicked and dragged a portion of the existing audio in the edit screen to 'turn it white'. In the little area above selected audio file, in the 'white/selected' area....we (used to) have a small volume icon that allowed for automatic amplifcation with a simple click and drag of the mouse (either right or left for volume 'up or down'). It looks as though the engineer did re-image each machine with the corporate Audition disc---however, it's showing as Audition 3.0 in the "About Audition" tab under Help. Isn't or wasn't there an updated to at least 3.1 or 3.01?  Just wanted to double check as I run the 'new' Audition on my Macs for my home business--and I'm really enjoying it:)  However...3.X, IMHO is one of, if not THE Best Wave editor...for it's time, in the History of Wave/Simple editing and production on the run. Since the Syntrillium/Cool Edit days, I've used it (since transitioning from SAW in the mid 90's).  So it's been a bit tough to get acquainted with my Mac version....I just don't see the update happening in 'corporate' radio for some time. It took a whole lotta time, effort, and bureaucratic BS just to get the new hardware. We'll go to battle for the software in this year's budget (not to be distributed til next year---likely 3rd or 4th quarter:))....so must make do with the 3.X for now.
Lastly, we're gettin a studder after a quick edit. Say I'm cutting a 30 second spot...4 or 5 seconds of dead handles, maybe a slip in the middle...total of 43 second sound file. I quickly cut the front handle, but left click dragging to the start, hit delete, hit space bar....studder, studder for about 2-3 seconds before it works itself out. Is there a cache setting I'm missing somewhere? If I go back and play from the beginning the file is just fine. No issues. Just that initial playback after edit. It's annoying but not a deal killer. Easily gotten used to.
In radio, as our jobs (and hats we wear) have become more and more "Life in the production room" producing for smaller markets, voice-tracking, commercial and audio produciton/voice over--again, for the smaller markets that these days are running 'jock-less'....Audition has easily become my number 1 tool in the box. Just a couple quirks I'd like to get worked out for the rest of our air/prod staff. I was, in fact, very happy with the older machines---each of our 'Workspaces' set up as we liked. Unfortunately, we ALL know how the engineers work. They get the new machines, pull the old, re-image and THEN send out that email. Ugghhhhh!  After almost 30 years in the buz, I sometimes miss when ALL they dealt with was RF and transmitters:)  We fixed our own 'work-stations' by writing out 3x5" index cards and bulk erasing carts, donuts (reels), and opening fresh, new vinyl from the labels:)
    Thanks for your time!
    Jer

    Thanks MusicConductor
Have I in some way 'messed' with the RealTek driver by disabling sounds? After reading your reply I actually went and looked at the back panel of the computer. I was blown away...as you're correct, we are using the internal/stock sound card!  That's never been the case, as our engineer has always put a pro card---usually, if memory serves, a PCI/PCI-E Digigram card. However...with this new workstation he put in, he's utilizing the onboard, RealTek software/stock internal solution.  To date, it's worked well...however, Audition crashed last week and we had to do a full install of the program again yesterday. Cut both yesterday and today's shows and the stuttering is back. Sounds in Windows are 'off' and cache/buffer sizes have been increased. I'll continue to play this week...and I still have to update to 3.01 after the fatal error with the software last week.
Thanks again...and if there's something I should not do with the Realtek software, can you be more specific?  I'm not sure I've messed with anything pertinent. We've got both ins and outs (from the sound card) separated into stereo RCA for both in and output. Sound quality seems to be just fine. (No noise/hiss or otherwise unnecessary or unwanted artifacts).  Maybe this is the issue. The onboard sound card. As I mentioned, in past systems we've used Lynx or Digigram pro cards. I'm kind of surprised to see us using the internal/stock card. As you say though, we've gone through some evolution with the isolation and performance of on board sound.  The RealTek driver version is 6.0.1.6392. One other question....in 'shared' mode...should I be running 24bit 48000Hz or 24bit 44100Hz?  Again...this is primarily used for saving down to MP3, transferring to our proprietary "Next Gen" system in generic MP3 flavor...so Next Gen can wrap it in it's own proprietary WAV format. In this case, is there a reason I shouldn't just be running it at 16bit 44100? In the control panel I have it set to 'No sounds' in sound scheme and in the lower "Program Events' box, I've selected '(None)'. Is this as 'deep' as I can get in the sound settings?
Thanks again. This stuttering isn't normal...and with the inherent speed increase (CPU) and RAM update, as well as a speedier drive (7200rpm), I'm not sure the cause. The last and older system (Pentium IV) was also updated to Windows 7---so it did work fine with the current OS albeit on the older spec'ed machine.

Can any one give me clue ,how to find out which sub query returns more than one row in the following query .This is why smaller, simpler queries are easier to work with than huge ones - when something like this goes wrong smaller queries are much eaiser to debug. Unfortunately using smaller, easier-to-work with queries is not always an option
Ganesh is right - you will have to dissect the big query bit by bit until you find the offending subquery. If there is another way I would like to find out about it too.
The easiest way to do this is probably to use block comments to isolate parts of the query bit by bit until you find the offending part. If you carefully examine the subqueries you might be able to figure out which one is returning multiple rows without commenting everything
    Good luck!

  • T61: One key got tough

One of the key of my keyboard has got a bit tough to type. Not a big issue, but it is rather annoying. I suppose that the problem is cause by something has got under the key and removing that alien object would resolve the issue. Does anybody know, how to remove the key of ThinkPad keyboard?

I sort of solved the problem (or rather it was sort of solved for me) by the help of  people in ThinkPad forum. By the way,  I was fortunate by qute quick answer.

  • How to check data in the cube

for integration purpose, how can you go and check data in the cube and validate it against the query data ? i know we can go to corresponded infocube and right click "display data" but what's on the query is not available when i execute "display data"
    Thanks

You can always use the similar set of Restrictions as used in RKF and get the value very close to what RKF is displaying.
But getting the same values in CKF is a bit tough..I can suggest may be you can take few/1-2 examples and do the calculations manually and compare the query result and Infocube data.

  • Order BY with ROWNUM in Select List

    Hi,
I have query like bellow for Oracle 11g:
    create table em_c (vl_s_ec int,id_em_em int,id_empcre_ecr int, id_em_ec int);
    create table em (id_em_em int)
    Select e.id_em_em
    , NVL(
    (SELECT * FROM(SELECT a.vl_s_ec FROM em_c a WHERE a.id_em_em = ec.id_em_em
    AND a.id_empcre_ecr < ec.id_em_ec order by a.id_em_ec DESC) WHERE ROWNUM <= 1) ,0) AS col2
    FROM em_c ec
    INNER JOIN em e on ec.id_em_em = e.id_em_em
    WHERE 1 = 1;
But inner subselect doesn't see table "em_c ec" from outer FROM clause. That's why following error occurs:
SQL Error: ORA-00904: "EC"."ID_EM_EC": invalid identifier
Please help me to make it work.

Correlation names only go one level deep. It's a bit tough to decipher your query so if you want a better response please post the following:
    1. Oracle version (SELECT * FROM V$VERSION)
    2. Sample data in the form of CREATE / INSERT statements.
    3. Expected output
    4. Explanation of expected output (A.K.A. "business logic")

  • Non Cumulative Key Figures Aggregations

    Hello Forum.
This is regarding results of non-cumulative keyfigures.
We have a non cumulative keyfigures whose aggregation behaviour is SUM with exeception aggregation as LAST.
Now out inflow kefigures has the value : 700 and outflow has 164 but on query the non cumulative keyfigure displays 1415 which is correct.
Can anyone plz tell how to check this aggregations because for few other records we have incorrect values.
    Thanks & Regards
    Ashish

non-cumulative keyfigures can be interpreted as follow:
KF = Current value + inflow - outflow
in yr case exceptional aggregation is set as LAST , so for a given transaction data KF will be evaluated as LAST value of the aggregation
let me explain this with an example :
for a given material , KF is calcluated as summation of KFs for another char (eg Material Type) of the same material. =>Current value = KF + KF + KF (for three diff mat type)
At Query run time KF will be calculated as KF = Current value + inflow - outflow...
now in query we will be having more KFs:
    KF  Current value1 + inflow1 - outflow1 (=Current Value2)   for mat typ1
    KF  Current value2 + inflow 2- outflow2   (=Current Value3) for mat typ2
    KF  Current value3 + inflow3 - outflow3   (=Current Value4) for mat typ3
the above will be interpreted internally and query will show result Current Value4 (because exceptional aggregation is LAST=>pls note that Exp aggregation runs at Query run time)
Its a bit tough to under the concept but u have to keep little patience ...

  • SOA Governance in development Stage

    Hi,
we have made some rules for our OSB developers, like name of the proxy server, namespaces in WSDL, directories in osb project...
I would like to automatize this validation.
I was thinking in doing some SHELL script to open the JAR an analyze the XML structure of the project... Anyone knows a tool for doing this validation? It could be do with maven or tool like that?
    Thank you

    Hi
SOA Market is really very good with good future. So go for it.
BUT the learning curve will be little bit tough initially. With just Java background, you need lot more skills to add to your profile.
Its not just SOA, but there is something called ADF Framework from Oracle. Just SOA is ok but not fully useful unless you combine ADF skills to that. Come with one clean mind set that you do NOT want to write any Code or very very minimum code to work in SOA/ADF. Without writing a single line of Java Code, you can query bunch of complex tables, get the data, do all operations like create, delete, update, read and show on the really working Screens. Zero Code. All xml, bindings and out of box features that come with ADF framework in JDeveloper.

  • Fetching 7 recent dates from arraylist

    Hi experts,
I have been stuck with an issue for which I seek your support/advice.
I have an xml which returns numerous dates(say 150 or more) . I take all these dates from the xml date tag into an arraylist.
The following getter method will return the arraylist with all the dates which I have taken from XML.
         public ArrayList<Date> getDates() {
              return dates;
}My query is, I need to have the 7 recent dates to be taken as a collection again, from this arraylist.
-3 dates before today, today's date, + 3 days dates after today. If today's date is not available, then the next immediate date will be the reference date for choosing -3 days and +3 days.
I hope, I am clear with my question.
I am going nuts thinking how to implement this for the past one day. If anyone has any idea regarding any simple methods which would help implementing this easily or any simple logic to implement this, kindly advice.
Any help in this regard will be well appreciated.
    Looking Forward,
    Anees

    Kayaman,
I know this, but the real question is How to find
    * the one that matches the closest to the current date
    * if no today's date or 3 advanced dates are available, how to add, just the 3 recent dates (- 3 days dates)?
This logic is bit tough and that is what I am stuck with!Well that depends on how you want it to work. If there is no date for today available, do you want the previous date or the next date, or do you want the one that is closer?
I would basically divide it into parts like this:
Case 1. All dates are available - Iterate through the List until you find current date, then get that and index-1, index-2, index-3 and index+1, index+2, index+3.
Case 2. No current date or later dates are available - Iterate through the List until you get to the last one (and notice that it's not the current date), then get the last 3 dates.
Case 3. Dates are available with gaps between them (like a date every 4 days or so, this is possible isn't it?) - Still iterate through the List looking for the current date, but as soon as you notice that the previous date is before current date and the next date is after the current date, choose one of them as the 'current' and get the 3 surrounding dates too.
Basically there shouldn't be anything really difficult in this, if you know your requirements clearly.

  • Inner select and select in "record selection"- Formula workshop problem

    Hi,
I am facing a bit tough situation in creating a Crystal Report.
I have two queries which I need to accommodate in the Report according to a given parameter (selectionParameter).
    The queries are as follows:
    select total, minvalue, customer
    (select  sum(A) TOTAL, min(B) minValue, C customer
         from table1, table2
         where table1.A = table2.E
         AND B in (Select B from table3 where F=10)
         group by C
    order by total, minValue
    select total, minvalue, customer
    (select  sum(A) TOTAL, min(B) minValue, C customer
         from table1, table2
         where table1.A = table2.E
         AND C in (Select C from table4 where G=20)
         group by C
    order by total, minValue
These queries should be executed according to the selectionParameter set to 0 or 1. The only difference in these queries in one of the where clauses. In the formula workshop "record selection"- I have put an if clause.
    if(selectParameter = 0) then (B in (Select B from table3 where F=10)
    else C in (Select C from table4 where G=20).
This is not supported, since select statement cannot be used in the formula workshop!!.. And also, I have understood that what ever procedure I have been following is completely wrong, since the where clause written in "record selection" formula workshop applies to OUTER SELECT, but not to inner select, which is not what I want!!.
Please help me to solve this puzzle. I am eagerly waiting for a solution.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Janakiram Dandibhotla.

A command object is really the only way to create a custom SQL query in Crystal Reports.  You have the option to create a command object after you connect to your datasource.
Alternatively you can create a JavaBean class, create the custom query in the java page, retrieve the resultset, and use that in the report.

  • Export data - uses new connection?

I've set up SQLdeveloper to automatically execute a script when a connection is started (tools->preferences->database->filename for connection startup script). The script does an "alter session set current_schema=blah" so that I don't have to keep typing the schema that I want to query. It's working fine, until I try to export the data. I get an error in the Logging page :ORA-00942: table or view does not exist. If I change my query to put in the schema name, it works fine. It looks like SQLdeveloper is creating a new connection to export the data, and isn't execuint the startup script I specified. Is there any way to get the script to execute on start of a data export connection? If not, the startup script seems pretty useless to me.

How are the queries manipulated? I could change my queries in some way to accomodate the mainpulation. Although hopefully it would be simpler than adding the schema name to the beginning of all tables.
What's the suggestion with the synonyms? Create synonyms in the schema that logs in for all the tables you want to access? The issue is there are literally huntreds of tables across many schemas, so it would be a bit tough to maintain.

There should be separate ALV Grid for Purchase order and Purchase requisition list. The user should also have an option to save various ALV layouts and should be able to choose the ALV layout on the selection screen. The user should be able to navigate to the relevant document form the ALV grid. (Use hyperlink).

  • KeyFieldValue in Sender File Adapter Not Working

    Hi,
I have a flat file like this...

    1Field1Field2Filed3.....
    2Field1Field2Field3.....
    1Field1Field2Filed3.....
    2Field1Field2Field3....
My requirement is to pick only lines starting with '1'.
I have configured the Sender File Adapter like this,
    Recordset Structure : SOURCE,*
    Key Field Name: KF
    Key Field Type : String(Case-Sensitive)
    File Content Conversion:
    SOURCE.fieldFixedLengths  1,5,5,5....
    SOURCE.fieldNames           KF,FIELD1,FIELD2....
    SOURCE.keyFieldValue      1
After all this, still it picks up all the recored instead of records starting with '1'. Can any one solve this?

If you feel module processor is bit tough you can use XSLT Mapping which is simple in sloving ur problem.
Check this blog to do a sample example using module processor.
