Query: creating client side handler
how can I create a client side handler for a webservice on weblogic 9.2 workshop
Take a peek at edocs for some examples and code you can get started with:
http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs92/webserv/client.html#client_handlers

Problem in creating client side PDF with image using flex and AlivePD
I need a favor I am creating client side PDF with image using flex and AlivePDF for a web based application. Images have been generated on that pdf but it is creating problem for large size images as half of the image disappeared from that pdf.I am taking the image inside a canvas . How do i control my images so that they come fit on that pdf file for any image size that i take.
Thanks in advance
AtishayI am having a similar and more serious problem. It takes a
long time to execute, but even attaching a small image balloons the
pdf to 6MB plus. After a few images it gets up to 20MB. These are
100k jpeg files being attached. The resulting PDF is too large to
email or process effectively. Does anyone know how to reduce
size/processing? -
Client-side handler: static config?
I would like to provide a client-side JAX-RPC handler that would
be invoked without any modification to existing client code.
The idea is that user's would only need to modify a config file
(something like the web-services.xml file, but on the client-
side) to use our handler.
We are already doing this in axis (uses a client-side deployment
descriptor: client_deploy.wsdd), but based on another thread
("Client Handler Chain - help ??"), it looks like there is
currently no equivalent in WLS?
Are there plans to add the ability to statically configure
client-side handlers in WLS via some sort of client-side config
file/descriptor, or is the programmatic method of modifying
the HandlerRegistry in the client code the only way?
Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated!
--TerryIn 7.0, you can do this in a handler:
import weblogic.webservice.binding.soap.HttpClientBinding;
String url = http://my/new/address/;
sslAdapter = null; //only needed for ssl
Binding binding = new HttpClientBinding( url, sslAdapter );
context.setProperty( WLMessageContext.BINDING_PROP,
binding );

Is there a similar way to set the endPointAddress.

Ok, I will add this as a feature request.
If you are ok with using WLS internal APIs (This APIs may change in
the future), try this:
weblogic.webservice.Operation operation

((weblogic.webservice.WLMessageContext)messageContext).getOperation();

weblogic.webservice.Port port = operation.getPort();
String endPointAddress = port.getAddress();

Manoj, thanks for the response.
We'd definitely like to see a client side dd at some point, but
can work with the API's for now. Thanks much for adding this as
a feature request.
On another subject:
I need to determine the target/endpoint URL from my client-side
request handler. Again, this was something we were able to do in
axis, but is currently not part of the JAX-RPC standard (JSR101).
I could be missing something, but haven't seen any way of
determining the target URL given only the SOAPMessageContext.
The only way seems to be if it were passed as a "standard"
property in the SOAPMessageContext (this is one way it is done
in axis).
I imagine this will someday be standardized in JAX-RPC (I can
think of many uses for this feature, other than our own). In the
meantime, could you also add this as a feature request for WLS?
Thanks again,

True. In WLS 7.0 there are no client side dd in which you can specify
the handler chain. We did not comeup with ourown client side dd,
hopeing that JSR109 will define the dd.
It is quite easy to register the handlers through APIs. Let us know
if
that will not help you.
I will add client side dd as a feature requst for the next release.

Creating Client-side Image Map in Web Dynpro
Hi,
How can I create a client-side Image Map in Web Dynpro application?
My application consists of a screen-size image in which several areas will have to link to URLs and actions. I have browsed through the "Web Dynpro UI Element Reference Guide," but could not find anything appropriate.
Can someone give me an advice? Thanks.
TeecheuIt doesn't, there is no corresponding UI control for this.
There is only onAction event on BusinessGraphics (have not working with them since SP5, eventing did not work at that time) and onObjectAction in GeoMap (never see it in action, probably an option for you if your map is geographic map

Client side handling of exceptions thrown by a webservice
I have a webservice that is deployed in Tomcat 5.5 running on Windows XP, Java version is 1.5, using jwsdp 1.5. Is there possibly a problem with the java 5 plugin handling exceptions thrown by webservices?
I have not found any bug reports or forumn posts regarding this so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

URL data type in CAML Query with Client side object model
hi,
How do I write a CAML query to filter list items based on the URL field using it's Description?
Same with REST API. How do I construct a REST query so that filter list items based on the URL data type using it's Description.Hi Cooltechie,
Thanks for posting your query, Below are the example that you can use in your CAML query
<Where><Eq><FieldRef Name="FileRef"/><Value Type="Url">sites/SiteCollection/SubSite/Site Documents/Excel Report.xls</Value></Eq></Where>
Note: Do not include the server name or beginning /.
The following examples assuming you have a list or library setup with a URL column named "My Document".
The link is to a document that is hosted on the sharepoint server (do not need server name):
<Where><Eq><FieldRef Name="My_x0020_Document"/><Value Type="URL">/sites/subsite/Site%20Documents/Excel%20Report.xls</Value></Eq></Where>
The link is an absolute URL to something not on the server... for example http://www.google.com:
<Where><Eq><FieldRef Name="My_x0020_Document"/><Value Type="URL">http://www.google.com</Value></Eq></Where>
I hope this is helpful to you, mark it as Helpful.
If this works, Please mark it as Answered.

Client side playlist with dynamicaly streamed items possible?
Hey,
is there a way to define a client side playlist like this:
ns.play( "stream1", 0, 30 );
ns.play( "stream2", 10, -1, false );
ns.play( " stream3", 0, -1, false );
ns.play( "stream4", 30, 120, false );
but instead of a single videofiles for each playlistentry use dynamic streaming?
I know how the DynamicStream class is working and how to set it up but i can't find any information if it is possible to combined those two techniques.
Thanks for any suggestions.Yes upto a certain extent you can achieve it, see below approach if it suits you. You can have playlist as xml file and each video tag will represent single item in playlist. So suppose you have xml file with video tags as below:
<videoList vodurl="rtmp://localhost/myapp">
<video>
<label>flv:stream</label>
<data>stream1,stream2,stream3</data>
<bitrate>100,200,350</bitrate>
</video>
<video>
<label>mp4:stream</label>
<data>mp4:stream1.mp4,mp4:stream2.mp4,mp4:stream3.mp4</data>
<bitrate>100,200,350</bitrate>
</video>
</videoList>
Then you need to create dynamic stream item("dsi") as below for each video tag and create array of "dsi".
var dsi:DynamicStreamItem = new DynamicStreamItem();
dsi.addStream( "mp4:stream1.mp4", 100);
dsi.addStream( "mp4:stream2.mp4", 200 );
dsi.addStream( "mp4:stream3.mp4", 350 );
ds.startPlay( dsi );
Then iterate each item of array, while you are playing first item of array then based on netstatus messages like "NetStream.Play.Complete" you can decide to move on to next item in array. So in this way you can create client side playlist.

How to handle text of iframe to send to remote printer in client side?
Hello everybody,
I am having problem to handle the printing text of iframe to send to remote printer. I am using JDK 1.5, JSP and JBOSS. My clients have to print the information displayed in iframe to their remote Printer. I am using javascript code below to print:
/* CODE IS IN JAVASCRIPT */
document.frames[frameName].focus();
document.frames[frameName].print(); But the main problem is that it takes a lot of times about 2 mins. Why is the above code taking so long time? Is it due to javascript code or the printing process? Is there any method or function to send printing text of iframe to printer faster?
can anyone help me to solve this problem.....
Thank You.

Hello stevejluke,
I am seeking for the suggestion whether it can be done through javascript or there is any other function or method in JSP that can replay javascript code and also work faster.
Thank you.But JSP has nothing to do with it. JSP lives on the server, not the client. If can't control the client printer, can't know about it, and can't print to it. This is purely client-side, which means not JSP. -
Can we create export dump files on client side??
Hi,
Please see this link
http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14215/dp_overview.htm#i1010293
Check the "NOTE" which says that
All Data Pump Export and Import processing, including the reading and writing of dump files, is done on the system (server) selected by the specified database connect string. This means that, for nonprivileged users, the database administrator (DBA) must create directory objects for the Data Pump files that are read and written on that server file system. For privileged users, a default directory object is available
So does this mean, the dump files can be created only on the server???
What if i want to create the dump file on my client c:\
Is it possible??
As per my knowledge, this was possible in 9i
ThanksYes in the "orignal" export ,it was possible to have a client side dump file.But the Export DataPump uses the Directory parameter which maps to a directory on the server side only and the option to give an absolute path for the dump file on the client side is removed,the files can be only on server side.

Af:query client side validation
Hello,
I have an application with 2 ViewObjects (based on SQL), each with its own ViewCriteria. I have 2 pages, each containing 1 of the ViewCriteria as af:query with results table. Each ViewCriteria has a number of fields, all f which are selectively required.
Now, when I go to page A, leave all fields empty and hit 'search', my fields get marked immediately as 'you need to enter at least one of the criteria'. No server request, just pure client validation, as you'd expect. Now we go to page B, doing exactly the same (empty fields, search). I see a lot of activity now, a server request, a query executed, and then a stacktrace saying 'at least 1 attribute is required'. In the front end, I also get a popup saying I have to enter at least 1 value.
Does anyone have any idea why the validation for both af:query components is different? Both ViewObject look the same to me, with same properties and attributes set.
Thanks in advance,
Stijn.Thanks for the reply, Vinod.
The problem still persists, though. We're working with version 11.1.3 (where the issue should be fixed), and it doesn't happen every time. 8 out of 10 af:query-components we use go to the server before validating the input, resulting in a popup. The other 2 do client-side validation and immediately tell you to fill in the blanks (which is the behaviour we want)... -
How to use "CREATE DIRECTORY" from client side remotely
Is there any way to create a logical directory from the remote client side, other than in the server? Or it's associated with the server's operating system policy? Thanks.

Creating/copying documents using client side object (javascript)
Hi
I want to the user to press a button and this creates or copies documents (Excel) into a document library on the same site. There are many examples showing how to do this for a list but how can it be achieved for documents?
I've looked at SPFile.CopyTo method but dont know how to use it.
So the source file would have a number of destination files and the name and column data would be altered at time of creation. Looking for a client side javascript solution.
Hope someone can assist.
ThanksHi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to copy or create excel files into a document library using JavaScript Client Object Model.
For copying excel files, you can use get_files function to get files within a specific folder , and then you can use file collection
push function to copy files and get_name function to get the file name.
Here is a detailed code demo for your reference:
How do I move files from one document library to another using JSOM?
For creating files, you can use Jquery upload plugin to achieve it,here is a detailed code demo for your reference:

Thanks
