Query - Fiscalyear/period - Display - Restricted KF

Hello Guys,
I have a requirement from the users like they will be entering the fiscal period/fiscal year in the selection screen
for example:
FisPer/Fis Year ---> 001/2009 to 006/2009
in the output I have a keyfigure called for example ZKEYFIG
it has to display like this
profit center 001/2009 0002/2009 0003/2009 Q1 004/09 005/2009 006/2009 Q2
My question how to calculate the quarter.
Do I have to write the code in the userexit.
Please let me know .Thanks in advance for your help.

No you don't need to write a Code assuming you have period column in your Infoprovider, if you make a small change / or you have a to write a small code.
NO Code needed : If Period and Year are entered separately in the selection screen
Create a Restricted key figure and use this Year field variable as restriction-1
Restriction two will be a constant - Period1, Period2 and Period 3
Name this Q1
Similarly make 3 other restricted key figures for Q2, Q3 and Q4
Small Code needed if you don't have year separately
Calculate year and store that in a variable from your Selection and then use same method as explained above.

Is there any FM which outputs fiscal year period in the format mmm/yyyy when current date is given as input. I need this coz i want to automatically calculate current fiscalyear period for a query variable..

When i expand the Fiscalyear Period infoobject in the query design in globval view, i donty see 0F_FPER. Does that mean it has to activated from Business Content? Or can i create a variable like that one??

Query Offset - Period 15

Hello,
i like to use an offset in my query to show quarterly results for last 2 years. My offset is always actual month - 3, -6 ... -24. Offset does work without problems. Last year we used period 15 to make changes (transition 2008 to 2009). Why doesn't my query show period 15? How can i change my query to show period 15 without define "fix"-months ?

Thank you for the response.
It's a custom infoobject called ZREQMONTH but defined just like 0CALMONTH. It is executing in Bex web just using the execute query button from the query designer. The strange thing is it executes o.k. in Analyzer but not in the web or in Xcelsius. There are characteristic restrictions on two other fields, a region and on vendor objects.

FI posting period variant restricted in OB52

Hi,
First all of you have HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009.
My problem is i have multiple posting period variant (Multiple company code wise), i want to restrict posting peirod variant in OB52 i.e. one posting period variant for one company code to be open / close only by concerned user of that company code.
pls. advice asap.

You have multiple posting period variants (multiple company code wise).
After the creation of posting period variant in OBBO you will assign the posting period variant to Company code in OBBP.Once you assign one posting period variant to company code , the posting period is restricted to that company code only.
use Authorization groups if you want to restrict the posting periods to the users.
suppose that authorization group for user A is A.
Go to OB52 -
>Open/Close posting periods.
Variant(posting period variant) , Account type , From Period1(6) , Year(2008) , To Period1(6) , Year(2008) , From Period2(7) , Year(2008) , To Period(7) , Authorization Group(A)
This means that periods 6 and 7 are accessible to Authorization group A and Period 7 is accessible to rest of the authorization groups.
This will solve your issue.

In a query, how to display the calendar day and the weekday in the heading

Hi Experts,
I am in a situation where I need to have calendar day and the weekday in a heading of a column in a query? we are in BW 3.5.
Here is an example:
                     04.22.2007
                     Sun
Branch 001      1,000.00
Branch 002      2,000.00
Branch 003      3,000.00
in my query, this is a restricted key figure with sales qty and calendar day and I have a text variable to show the calendar day. In addition to that, the customer wants weekday as well.
Not sure how to do this.
Any help is much appreciated.

Hello ,
      This InfoObject do not maintain the weekday ...so it is difficult to show the Weekday for a date as per the standard way.
          You need to write a Customer exit variable..and you need to use a Function Module : DATE_TO_DAY. This will convert your date to day ie 23.04.2007 = Monday.
      Note: This function module is not available in BW so try to copy this FM from R/3 system.
      I am sure this will solve ur issue:-)

IOS 7 iPad - Safari periodically displays horizontal gray line

Hi all, ever since upgrading to iOS 7, Safari on my iPad periodically displays a faint horizontal gray line when scrolling through some websites. Has anyone else come across this? The line only appears on some websites and goes away when scrolling stops. I've seen this happen on an iPad 3rd generation, iPad Air, and iPad mini with Retina. It appears to be the same graphic as the scroll bars in the OS, but there's no reason to scroll horizontally on these pages.

I'm on an ipad Air and have the same issue.
The problem I see is that this horizontal scroll bar displaying in the middle of a page is a bug. This scroll bar should appear at the bottom of the screen where scroll bars live on all other browsers, not half way up the page.
The proof is in the Vertical scroll bar which is in the correct position, on the far right of the page.
BTW, both scroll bars appear only when necessary which is correct.
The issue we all share is the positioning of the horizontal bar.

Extending Expert Query VO but Query doesn't display in standard VO

I need to add a new attribute to an export query VO (oracle.apps.icx.por.reqmgmt.server.GroupReqsPublicVO), but when I edit the standard VO in JDeveloper the existing query doesn't display (query is blank and no attributes are listed). I can get the query from the xml file, but does this mean there is a problem? Should I just copy the query from the xml file and use that?

All of the info is in the standard VO xml file (ie query, attributes, etc), but when I choose Edit VO ... in JDev nothing is displayed. A similar standard VO (slightly different query) appears fine in JDev - query and attributes displayed.
I ended up trying the following, which appears to be working (although I am still waiting on some test data from the users):
Create new VO, extending standard
Copied the query from standard VO xml file
This left me with all of the queried attributes, but none of the transient attributes.
I tried to copy the additional attributes from the standard VO xml file to the extending VO xml file in JDev, but the extending VO xml file is protected.
Then I closed JDev, manually edited the extending VO xml file to include the additional transient attributes that are in the standard VO xml file.
Whether it was related or not, but when rebuilding my project, it complained that it couldn't find the standard VO's Impl java file, so I decompiled the class file to produce that.

BEx Query Analyzer Value Display of +/- Sign

The KeyFigure values in the BEx Analyzer are being displayed as 512.740000000- with a negative sign in the back. I tried to change the settings in Bex Query Designer -- Query Properties -- Value Display to "Before the Number -123.45" setting. It looks like it doesn't have any effect.
Please let me know if I need to change the setting from the backend, we are on BI 7.0.

It should work. Try to refresh the query if not come out of Bex and Relogin. This should fix

Auto Query in Before Display Page Section

The following code is querying master and detail blocks automatically in before display page section. It was working fine. But now I don't know why it doesn't work any more. Does any one know what's the problem?

BI query not properly displaying in Consumer Portal - Through FPN - RRA

Hi Everyone,
we have implemented FPN between EP 7.0 and BI 7.0 . A role with BI reports (iview created using Bex7.0 template) are working fine in BI Portal.
When its RRA to a users in EP-consumer portal, its not coming properly. I mean it shows some default header/Menu (like New Analysis Open, Save As, Information, Send etc..) in EP but not displaying the details of the report. Other URL iviews are working fine in RRA, just BI query is not coming properly. All pre-requisite for FPN is done properly and SSO configured.

Query View not displaying data according to Query

Hi,
I have a query with current cal week vaiable set for 0CALWEEK. A Query View is created on that but everytime we have go and maually refresh the query view and save it to show the current week. Is there any setting in WAD, Queryview or the query to pick the data automatically from Query directly?

Restrict the 0CALWEEK in the query with the variable 0CWEEK which is the current week. Then, create the view and the web template will automatically takes the current week.

Assuming that you mean essmsh: this is a setting you can change. the command to change is: alter session set dml_output alias off ; Not sure if you can change this in EAS HTH

Query has to display completed quarters and Data loaded month.

I have 2 issues in BEX .
1. I need to display data loaded month(0calmonth):
Ex: Jan 2007 data has loaded in May 2007, my query has to display for 3 months JAN 2007, Dec 2006, November 2006.
2. completed quarters : if we are in mid of 3 quarter, query has to display Quarter1 and quarter2 (completed) ,nothing has to display in quarter 3.

1. you mentioned data loded month... but you are pointing Calender month that data belongs to? Are you want display based on Calender Month that data belongs to (Jan 2007) or Loded Month (May 2007) or Last Loded Month?
2. create User Exit variable on Quarter or Month IO. in the User Exit Code, check which Quarter that current month belongs to? if it is mid of 3rd quarter, pass Quarter 1 and 2 (or for month 1 to 6).

Please check formula builder there you can find DATE_FISCPER3, DATE_FISCPER and DATE_FISCYEAR formulas which converts date to fiscal year and period.Take a look at them..
