Query on PPDS Scheduling

Hi all,
We are using PPDS in our scenario.
We use PDS & dynamic pegging.
We have semi finished product(SF) and Final product(F)
in our BoM.
Once the SF is made ready, it has to be consumed within
3 hours to make the final product F.  There is capacity
constraint to make F from SF.
Under these conditions, how to achieve this requirement.
I tried with Shelf life, but not working.
Please throw some light on this to meet the requirement.
Regards
R. Senthi Mareeswaran.

Hi senthil,
From your note, I understand the HALB will not be stored in any physical storage Location and will be taken into the Production staging of the Finished product directly.  I get series of ideas, please check if it helps your business.
1. Total shelf life should be made to 1 day.
2. Move any stock expired to Blocked everyday so that unrestricted stock will have only current date stock.
3. Store the Goods receipt time in batch characteristics. We can transfer the batch characteristics to APO Product master, if needed.
3. Use FIFO method (Considering the GR time from Batch char) for batch determination. This will consider the first batch that was received that day. Considering the fact the process is continuous there will not be any batch left with out consuming.
Also I guess this can be achieved by Offset settings in relationships between the operations. You have to assign the Halb in the successor operation and the FERT at the predecessor operation. The offset time should be 3 hrs.
I guess we need to test these scenarios. I am now in a project where there is no batch managed products. Hence difficult for me to test the same.
Cheers

    Hi Ingo,
All the authorizations for crystal report to fetch data is in place, and crystal report refresh and schedule runs success fully. The issue is only in Web Intelligence.
If it is same as crystal report we should see similar results for crystal report, which is not the case as of now. Crystal report refreshes without any error and we can able to schedule it without any problem.
As it is said earlier, SAP secuirty guy doesnt find any missing authorizations. It is very difficult to say which authorization is missing.

  • Query size by scheduling(IMPORTANT)

If a user will schedule a report in user edition he receives the
following error "Exceeded maximum query size".
But if the user executes immediately (without scheduling) the
    query is working.....?
How can i solve this problem. I tried many things with no result.
Is this a error from the database or from User/Admin edition
    preference?
    m.kocaer

    Hi,
According to your description, you were not understanding why the two queries return completely different result sets.
The first query's condition is "where CONTAINS (Path, 'https://sitecollectionurl//')  ORDER BY size DESC", the second query's condition is "where contentclass='STS_ListItem_DocumentLibrary' AND
CONTAINS (Path, 'https://sitecollectionurl//')  ORDER BY size DESC" .
So the second query has one more condition that where contentclass='STS_ListItem_DocumentLibrary' which limits the results are document library items. While the first query contains
the results from the entire site collection more than just document library items.
So the first one will get more results which contain contentclass STS_ListItem_DocumentLibrary.  The second one is more efficient at finding file results.

  • Query on Task Scheduler

    Hi experts,
Is there any OOTB schedulers which will keep track of expiry date in resource from and change the resource status as "Expired".
Lets say i provision a user to Smartcard Resource object and if the smartcard expires after 45 days then I should change the status of that resource to "Expired".
So do we have any OOTB schedulers which runs against a process form field for that particular resource object.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi P.K.
A suggestion... For all resources we have, the resource and process forms have three fields: access type (temporary or permanent), start date, end date. Start Date and End Date are set only when the access type is temporal.
I have implemented a generic schedule task to notify the resource administrators and user's managers when the resources are N days about to expire. The schedule task has the follwing properties:
Form Table Name = Process Form Name
    Access Type Field Name =
    Access Type Field Value =
    End Date Field Name =
    Days To Expire
Group To Be Notified= If it is empty, notify the resource administrators.
    Email Definition
Notify User Manager = If the manager has to be notified.

  • Query on Purchase Scheduling Agreeement

    Hi MM guys,
I have a situation where the source lists of many PSA's are blocked to stop further ordering thro' MRP run. This is to still allow GR's & IR's for any open items.
But users in Logistics & also in Finance are getting confused by these PO's.
Now my question is: Is there any way to put a special character or some sort of a flag on those orders so that by seeing it, the users should able to say " These are the orders which is blocked for procurement but still open for GR/IR" ?
Can any development be made on these sort of orders to clearly identify their 'Status'?
Thanks for your time for looking at this,
    Regards,
    Madan

    Hi,
It can be handled many ways.
    Simplest is:
List down all the open PO#s.
Get the item short description modified (added at the end, say OPEN POs)
    example:
Currently, it may be indicating 3 x 4 '' thread
Modify it to 3 x 4" thread OPEN POs
When You do this, while processing GR, the item text itslef shows up in the MIGO transaction, when yo refer to those PO#s.
User can understand easily. Good this is, you will find MB51 report with this description as well...how nice it is!!

  • Sending DELETE query from C++ scheduled program

    hi all,
new Oracle user here (experiementing with 10g XE), can anyone help me with how to delete some records from a table from a C++ program? the records to be deleted will all have an expiry date in one column that has a date value older than the current system date
any help will be much appreciated!
    jusef

As Vinendra pointed out you'll probably have to use PRO*C and invoke it from C++.
In PRO*C you'll use a SQL block to execute the delete statement. You can find examples if you search OTN and the internet.

  • Querying LOV schedule information

Is there any way to query the LOV schedule information using the Business Objects Query Builder?  We are able to pull data about Crystal reports and their schedules into a database to do more thorough auditing and we would like to do the same with LOVs.  I know these are treated as reports themselves so I'm wondering how we can get at the backend data of those LOVs that are scheduled.

I didn't think about the query tool restricting the number of rows returned.  I'm sure that is what is happening with Query Analyzer.
Executing "select count(*) from jobrun" will give you an accurate count of the number of rows in the table since it only returns one row.
"Trigger History Retention" does not determine how many days "Job History" will be retained.  Click on the Help Icon (?) for a description of the "Trigger History Retention" setting.
The Defaults tab has the default value for "Job History Retention".  This determines how long Job Activity is retained.  If this is 30 days, then, if a job has not run in the last 30 days, the job may not have entries in the jobrun table.
When a job is created, the "Job History Retention" value is used to set the "History Retention" of the job (found on the Job Definition, Options tab).  If you have never changed the value in the Defaults tab, then it is likely all your jobs have this value.  But if the Default value was changed at some point, then the jobs created before the value was changed will have one value, the jobs created after the change will have another value.  To determine the History Retention value for a single job, you can check the Options tab of the Job Definition.  To find out if all your jobs have the same value, you can run this query.
    select distinct jobdtl.jobdtl_retnsn
    from jobdtl
If your default for "Job History Retention" was never changed, this will return a single value.
If you know a job that runs infrequently, you can look at the History tab of the job.  I'm not sure what to expect.  If the job only runs quarterly, for example, will there be no history shown if your Job History Retention is set to 30 days?
It may be possible to determine the last time a job ran by querying the msglog table.  This table can be quite large, so you have to be careful constructing your queries.  The Logging tab of the System Configuration specifies how long these records are retained.

  • OpenSQLException while executing a select query

    Hi,
I am attempting to code an SQL query in a servlet  and get the following exception:
    com.sap.sql.log.OpenSQLException:
Below is the code snippet I am using:
    String weekStart = request.getParameter("weekStart");
    String weekEnd = request.getParameter("weekEnd");
    final Connection con = ConnectionManager.getConnection();
    Statement stmt = con.createStatement();
    String query = "select * from SCHEDULES where BUS_PARTNER_ID = '" + empID + "' and SCHED_DATE  >= '" + Date.valueOf(weekStart) + "' AND  SCHED_DATE  <= '" + Date.valueOf(weekStart) + "';";
    final ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery(query);
The fromDate and toDate parameters are of type string and have format yyyy-mm-dd which is getting passed to the servlet .Values are like 2010-07-13 etc.Issue seems to be with the date beacuse query is working fine without date parameters.
Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong and how to fix it?
    thanks

Yes. I understand. Seems as if that's one of the reasons for the error. However, Note:401436.1 speaks on Bug fixes by problem type and listed IOT related bugs.

  • Scheduled report issue

    Hi,
I scheduled a work book with multiple worksheets in discoverer 4.1.47. After scheduling when am I opening, I found there is a sheet with no data. I checked the query from SQL inspector and its not showing the original query and its showing the below query . I normally opened the worksheet from discoverer desktop and its showing the query correctly, where as in scheduled report SQL inspector is showing the below..
Remaing all sheets are scheduled correctly.
    Please let me know, why
    SELECT BRVC2 as E_300, BRVC1 as E_308, BRVC3 as E214082, BRN1 as E214083, BRN2 as E214094, BRN3 as E214095, BRVC4 as E214097, BRVC5 as E214098, BRN4 as E214099, BRVC6 as E214100, BRVC7 as E214101, BRVC8 as E214103, BRVC9 as E214106, BRVC10 as E214107, BRVC11 as E214109, BRN5 as E214110, BRVC12 as E214111, BRN6 as E214112, BRN7 as E214114, BRVC13 as E214115, BRVC14 as E214116, BRD1 as E214127, BRVC15 as E214130, BRVC16 as E214131, BRVC17 as E214144, BRVC18 as E214146, BRVC19 as E215360 FROM APPS.EUL4_B100714054016Q2R1;
    BR
    Uma

    Hi Uma
In standard Discoverer, when you create and run a worksheet the results are created dynamically. This means that the data is only available within the session that is running the worksheet. More importantly, the data is NOT available to any other worksheet whether within that session or not. However, if you use a scheduled workbook then the results from the worksheet are held in a temporary table until you remove the results or you delete the scheduled workbook.
    Tables look like this: EUL5_B060914015847Q1R1
    Views look like this: EUL5_B060914015847Q1V1
Note: these temporary tables are stored within the schema of the user who owns the workbook - not within the standard EUL schema. The format of the table is as follows:
EUL5_B060914015847Q1R1 which can be broken into six separate pieces.
    These pieces are as follows:
    EUL5_ B YYMMDD HHMISS Q9 R9, where
    EUL5_ is a fixed name
B means Batch and is a constant
YYMMDD is the date that the worksheet was run,
HHMISS is the time when the worksheet was run, the time is in the 24 hour clock format,
Q9 means this is the letter Q followed by a number - E.g. Q1, which signifies the query number. I believe Oracle have some plans to allow multiple queries but for now this is always Q1,
R9 means this is the letter R followed by a number - E.g. R1, R2 and so on. This is the run number.
Using the above logic therefore, here is your example: APPS.EUL4_B100714054016Q2R1
This means this is result set number 1 for query 2, run at 5:50:16 AM on 14th July 2010.
So if you can figure out which worksheet was scheduled and when it was run you can build a view that sits on top of the latest table to give you the latest results. Something else which adds interest here is that the column names within the table do not match the column names as in your original query. The scheduled results column names use generic names such as BRVC1, BRVC2, BRD1, BRD2, BRN1 and BRN2.
These are codes and can be interpreted as follows:
BRCV1 and BRCV2 mean Batch Result Varchar (aka string) 1 and 2,
BRD1 and BED2 mean Batch Result Date 1 and 2,
BRN1 and BEN2 mean Batch Result Number 1 and 2
In SQL, try this: SELECT * FROM APPS.EUL4_B100714054016Q2R1 - do you see anything? If yes, there is data in the result set. If no, this means Discoverer found no data when it ran the scheduled workbook.
If you have no data in the results you have to determine why. Perhaps you are pulling from a secure view using a specific responsibility that was needed get at the data? A responsibility that would be needed during the scheduled run.
    Hopefully this helps
    Best wishes
    Michael

  • How to find and export all Scheduled Tasks in Domain with multiple servers.

    Hi everyone,
I have been given a task of finding all of Scheduled Tasks in the Domain on all of the servers. So far I have manage to create a script that will pull out all Scheduled Tasks from one Server, in this case Domain Controller.
Butt in my company are more than 150 servers so I am looking for a script that can connect to AD (or LDAP), than to certain OUs, then pull out Server list and than query them for Schedule Task. I have found already some scripts online and tried to adjust
them butt they simply didnt work.
I am new in the company and still learning about the system,  this is my first real task so any help will be greatly appreciated.

Just a tip that I found after running across this myself - if you run a
    Get-AdComputer -filter {operatingsystem -like '*server*'} | ft name | out-file servers.txt
and then save the output to a text file, it may look good, but there may be white space at the end of the computer names. Make sure that only the computernames are in the file and then the script works great.
    http://absoblogginlutely.net
This would happen because you are trying to get around the format of the output.  When you want the raw value do it this way;  it is faster and easier:
    Get-AdComputer -filter {operatingsystem -like '*server*'} |
         %{$_.Name } | out-file servers.txt
Now there can never be any extra spaces and there will be no header to cause problems.
This is why it pays to spend time studying the details of how PowerShell works instead of just sticking things together until you get a result.  PowerShell is designed to do all of these things without fudging or guesswork but it requires that you actually
learn how it works.  I highly recommend stating with a good technical book on PowerShell.
