Query Output problem

Dear All,
We have a query developed in BI 7.0 version. Today when i excuted the query I couldn't able to see to output for any selections.
The same query fetches result when I exeute in RSRT transaction.
The query is created on a infocube.  I have only one customer exit code for infoprovider and that too works fine..
I couldn't able to track why the query is not able to give result when i excute in query designer (or) the web templete which contains this query.
Will this occur due to any setting change in quer

Hi ,
Even  we faced a similr problem , like the query runs fine in RSRT but throws runtime error in portal.
so when we remove zero suppression form query properties the query used to ran fine in portal.
smilary, when we unhide the field which is hidden , again the query ran fine in portal.
similarly, when we remove result row suppression the query ran fine....just have a try if any of these works for u.
finally our problem has been sent to sap.
Regards,
Priya.

    Hi Experts,
Plz go through the fallowing scenerio and answer the question.
For a customer opprtunity should be within the scheduled 18 months of time period. That means if RFP(Request for propasal) is on
particular date and the scheduled award date is on particular date.If the scheduled award date is not fallowing in the 18 months time span then that award date need to be considered for report generation.
Here we are getting  both RFP and award dates  from CRM systems.
How can we calculate the 18 months irrespective of the begining months.?

    Hi,
Take Both Dates in to Report.
Create 2 Formula varible on Respectively on Both Dates.
Create A formula .And use the above 2 Formula variables in the Formula like : FarVAR1 -FARVAR2.
Create a condition on the formula to hide rows which does not give Formula = 18*30.
    Other option is
USe a KF in cube itself and USe a Formula to get difference between dates.

  • ALERT PROBLEM WITH QUERY OUTPUT

I have a few queries that were originally created using the B1 Query Wizard, that I then attached to Alerts.  Unfortunately when the Alert runs, the query output is different either in layout or records returned (usually less) when compared to running the query directly.  Is this a glitch in B1 as some folks have told me or is there a problem with queries created by the Query Wizard?

    Hi Frank,
    This is a limitation.
The note 874145 is written about it. It also offers some workarounds.
I would think that you can also create a 'Select count(*)' query that would also run as an alert that would tell the user how many records are affected. I did not test this, just an idea.
    Hope it helps,
    Jesper

  • Query download problem

    Hi friends,
we developed a query to download somedata, for the query output format we choose option FILE STORE instead of ABAP LIST or List viewrs..... all the data is downloading properly but the problem is when the download data have some chinese chracters it is displaying as ####### instead of downloading chinese chracters..
our system is unicode, when we check with ABAP List option there have chinese chracters in output list, only problem is downloading to ecxel or text file..
if any idea abt this pls let me know
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi,
Even though your system is UNICODE enabled, the addition you have used at OPEN DATASET might be different.
ENCODING DEFAULT / UTF - 8 / NO CONVERSION ERRORS are possible.
I guess, you need to check the code page available for this chineese character set, and use the addition for which this code page is available.

  • To download the query output to falt file

    Hi all,
i have a query which i know will give more than 65k records as the output for a selection.
i cannot run this query in excel due to its limitation.
if i run on web i cannot download this as downloading is happening to excel file only.
The customer ideally wants to download the query result to a text file(csv,tab-delimited etc) which inturn it will upload to MS-Access.
    How do i achieve this?
SAP has given response use try using these options:
1.open interfaces to receive the output of a query via the MDX language.
2.open hub tool as it is designed for big amounts of data.(i suppose this is not possible as i want to download query output not the data target contents)
how do i achieve my scenario with option 1?
    Are there any alternatives??
Any useful help will be rewarded.
    Regards,
    Dhanya.

  • Output mismatch between BEx query output and WebI Report output

    Hi All,
I have a BEx query in which there are only characteristics placed in rows.
There are combinations of the values of the characteristics giving different records in the query output.
Date is one of the characterisctics in the query output.
There is an output mismatch between the query output and the WebI report output in the following case:
When there are 'Not Assigned' or '#' or blank values, there are additional entries(rows) in the WebI report, giving repeating or wrong entries in the Date field. This is incorrect data.
Is this because of the  'Not Assigned' or '#' or blank values of the Characteristics or is there any other reason?
    How do I fix this?
    Please helo me with this.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Srilakshmi B

    Hi Rajesh,
I need to verify the WebI report output for records with # and 'Not assigned' values for the cHracteristics in the report.
So I cannot check the WebI report by hiding the # or Not assigned values.
The problem is that in the Query output the records are like these shown below:
    Char1                    CHar2                          CHar3                       Date field
    A                             B                                 C                                Date1
#(Not assgined)      #(Not assgined)      #(Not assgined)             No value
Where as the WebI report output is as below:
    Char1                    CHar2                          CHar3                       Date field
    A                             B                                 C                                Date1
    #(Not assgined)      #(Not assgined)      #(Not assgined)            Date1
As shown here, there are wrong/repeating entries for the Date field in the WebI report output.
Please check this and let me know what could be the issue and how do I fix it.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Srilakshmi B

    Hi Nitesh,
It is not unknown text. It is the french meaning of PO number which you are getting. So, though you log into different language also, do you want it in English only?
If so, dont maintain the language translation. This will solve.
For language translation, from your report on the menu bar Goto--> Translation. Here we need to mention the Original and Target language. Check if there is anything maintained for PO number.

  • Result Row in the query output

    Hi,
If I restrict a characteristic by hierarchy then I can’t have the result row displayed. If the hierarchy active is removed then the result row gets displayed. All characteristics are marked to show the result row.
This characteristic is Account Number. If in the query definition I remove the restriction on account numbers and just select hierarchy active and the required hierarchy in the properties then I get the result row in the output. But now it also displays all the unassigned account numbers in a separate node “Not Assigned Account Number (s)”.
I can’t even restrict it in the output with hierarchy active selected. When I do select filter value in the output the options Include in Selection and exclude from Selection are grayed out and hence can’t select it.
    Please advice on this issue…
    Thank you,
    sam

    Hi Jaya,
I think you misunderstood my issue.
My problem is not that i do not want to see the field. But instead, i do not want to see only the results row in the query output.
I need to have the results to populate a calculation via sumct formula.
My question is, can sumct be populated if i hide/supress RESULT row ?

  • Issue with query output

    hi there,
I have an issue with the display of hours 00:00:00 in the query output in BW.
The system assumes it as 0 or blank and therefore display it under unassigned hour.
I am using the reference of 0TIME for this hourly display.
When I checked the 0TIME i could not find the corresponding SID value for 00:00:00 hours.
Can anybody please advise what needs to be done?
    Thanks in advance,
    Kind regard,
    Kate

    Hi Kate,
I am experiencing the same problem as you: an InfoObject, created referencing 0TIME,  represented in the BEX Query as "#" when the Value is "00:00:00".
How did you work it out?
The Formula Variable strategy is not applicable in this case because 0TIME is not a key figure !
    Bye

  • Inconsistencies between DEV and QAS query output

    Hi all -
I am currently using a BI query in my VC model that I send the output to a table in VC, note that I am showing only a few fields from the output.  This works for some tables in my model that use another query.
The problem is that when I change the alias (using the Alias Manager tool) from BI DEV to QAS, then deploy, the number of columns is changing in my table and seems to give me all of the potential query output and not only the fields I have selected in my model.
To make a test, I have tried to hide the output fields in the BI query itself, and this seems to have a direct effect on the shown columns in VC but creates some other unwanted problem.  In fact, it works for the other query...
Anyone had the same problem?  could that be a refreshing problem?
    Thank you,
    Claude.

    Hi
It could be a refresh problem. Try to change the RFC from the query definition & refrech the 'Data service'. Then test the output of the query from 'Test Query' then save & deploy. Also in Columns try with the charachters where type is 'Text'.

  • Displaying selection criteria as part of query output

    Hi Folks,
How do you add the selection criteria to the header of an SAP Query output?
    Thanks,
    Roy

    hi,
for your own reports (beginning with z and y)and queries this should be no problem. Create a program, which makes your demanded heading,  and include it to your reports.

  • Remove comma in query output from Char used as KF

    Hello Friends,
To be able to display a characteristic in a particular way I used formula variable and displayed it as Key Figure in the query output. By doing this I am getting the output in the required format, but only problem is that the value is being displayed with commas. As it is an order number, I want to display it without commas.
I don't want to use VB as the query is to be published in web also.
Please suggest if there is any way to achieve this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Praveen

Hey Praveen, there's a few ways to skin this cat. The simplest method is to make sure that the user parameters in SU3 don't have commas for numbers. The problem is that this is a global setting so you won't get commas for other numbers in which you may want commas. Also, you'd have to make sure your replacement variable was defined as type "number". The other options include using VBA in BEx, and/or Table Interface in the Web. If you are using BW 3.5, you can use XSLT to render a table with and not have commas for that value by using the XML Query Result Set Item. Hope that helps,
    Prakash

  • How to Align Query output in vertical grids in Classic Reports

    HI all,
I have a requirement to display query output in a vertical grid.
For example, If my query output is :
SQL, PL/SQL, Forms,Reports, XMLP, APEX etc then output should be displayed in following format:
    1. SQL 2. PL/SQL 3. Forms
    4. Reports 5. XMLP 6. APEX
    Thanks in Advance!!

    EMP No : 1 Ename: XXX Manager_Id: 2
Job: Consultant Sal: 1000 Commission: 5
    We want a break after three columns.Create a custom named column template and base the tabular form report on this: {message:id=10399762}
Please read the FAQ and forum sticky threads (if you haven't done so already), and update your forum profile with a real handle instead of "866010".
When you have a problem you'll get a faster, more effective response by including as much relevant information as possible upfront. This should include:
    <li>Full APEX version
    <li>Full DB/version/edition/host OS
<li>Web server architecture (EPG, OHS or APEX listener/host OS)
    <li>Browser(s) and version(s) used
    <li>Theme
    <li>Template(s)
<li>Region/item type(s) (making particular distinction as to whether a "report" is a standard report, an interactive report, or in fact an "updateable report" (i.e. a tabular form)
With APEX we're also fortunate to have a great resource in apex.oracle.com where we can reproduce and share problems. Reproducing things there is the best way to troubleshoot most issues, especially those relating to layout and visual formatting. If you expect a detailed answer then it's appropriate for you to take on a significant part of the effort by getting as far as possible with an example of the problem on apex.oracle.com before asking for assistance with specific issues, which we can then see at first hand.

  • Store Query Output or Cache Query

My search query returns almost about 5000 records or more at
a time out of 7million records. and I am outputing about 35 records
at a time on a page. The problem is when the user pages to the next
page, I hit the DB again and again through the paging process of
    the user.
The Cache attribute of <cfquery> does not work when you
are using <cfqueryparam> methods in the Components which we
    are using.
How can I Store all the outputs of the Query returned into a
var and cycle through it instead of hitting the DB every time or is
there another method of caching this returned query output?
    Please give example.

Thanks, that did the trick, another problem that came out of
this is Internet Explorer. When Users page to lets say page #6 and
then use the back button to come back, when it reaches the page
one,the Query executes again. This only happens with internet
explorer. I have tried caching the page but still same problem
persists. I have changed the form method to "get" and it is still
    problematic.

  • Macbook mini DVI to DVI output problems

    hi
I've been using a samsung syncmaster 22" with my macbook for about a year now with no problems using the mini DVI to DVI connection
then earlier this week i used a different DVI cable to plug my playstation 3 into the screen, when i plugged the computer DVI cable back into the screen lots of red/pink pixels have taken over the screen and when the desk is nudged red lines flash up
i thought it might be either the DVI cable or the mini DVI to DVI adapter and replaced both to no avail, i have also tested all the cables on other screens/with other computers, and tested the screen with my playstation. Screen and cables all work fine so i think it must be some kind of output problem, but cant work out what it could be seeing as nothing would have happened to the port on the actual computer whilst changing connections on the samsung screen
sorry for the long winded post, really wanna know what the problem is here

    Hi cbeth,
    welcome to macbook forum.
For your friend macbook, try to press F7 back and forth to switch between mirror and expanded mode.
Try to update your macbook hardware firmware and software using software updater and repair permission after that...application/utilities/disk utility/repair permission.
Also reset your PRAM and PMU.
Open your friend system preference / display and try to compare and set yours similar to hers, including resolution, color depth, refresh rate.
    Good Luck.
