Query - Overall Result Line

Dear colleagues:
I want to keep the RESULT lines in my reports, but I´d like to suppress the OVERALL RESULT line. Please, how can I do that in the Analyzer Bex?
Thanks in advance.

You can do it. What you do is in the Rows of Query Designer You should be having some InfoObjects. In that list Right click on the First InfoObject and Properties --> Under Display of Results --> Supress Result Rows --> Make it to Always . Now you will not see Over all Results.
Assign Points if Useful.

  • Query overall Result while using structures

    Hi all,
I have 2 structures in my query, in both <b>rows and columns</b>. Now I want to display the total result for all the columns in my structure. How do I go about that?
I cant use cell definition as I used the cell definition on a couple of cells to calculate and all other columns have been derived normally thru selections and formulas.
Any insight or pointers would be appreciated and rewarded.
    Cheers,
    Sri

Thanks folks - I figured it out.

  • Show only overall result in query

    Hi Experts,
I have a problem with a web template that I cannot seem to resolve.  I have a query with calculated key figures and the overall result is calculated as an average so that I can determine percentages etc.  It is only the overall result that my customer wants to see.  However if I remove the sales doc characteristic then the overall result is also lost.  The query needs sales doc to get the correct result, but then the user has to scroll to the bottom each time to see what he wants to see.
So my question is, how can I make the query/web template display only the overall result line without taking out sales doc and losing each line?
    Many thanks in advance.
    Sean.

    Hi Sean,
From what I could understand ,you can try the following.
Since you want the average of a calculated key figure with respect to Sales doc  ,u can set the property of the calculated key figure as aggregation = average.
and referance characteristic as 'sales Doc'
    Hope this helps.

  • No result line for hierarchy on Profit Center in query

    Dear Colleagues!
    Question regarding BW 3.5!
I want to have an overall result line for a hierarchy based on profit center in my report, but I can't make it work.
The Profit Center infoobject is in the rows. I use the setting for the infoobject Profit Center to set Result settings but the line does not appear.
I have a very similar report where Costcenter hierarchy is in my row, and here I get the overall result line at the top. Why does it not appear in my Profit Center query?
I have compeared settings for the two hierarchies in RSA1, the settings for the two queries, the settings for the Web Template, and the settings for the infoobjects, but I can't find any difference. Can anyone out there help me?
    Regards
    Silje

    Silje,
Have you a Node at the top of the Cost Centre Hierarchy which is being summed within the hierarchy and then perhaps all your Profit Centre nodes are at the same top level?
Also - are there other characteristics in your Cost Centre report that are actually the ones being summed?
    Regards

  • Issue in the Overall Result

    Dear Experts
I need your help to solve my problem. I have one BEx report base on a cube and in which I use Key Figure calculated, but when I execute the query, I have on the Overall Result line the result of the formula and not the total result of all items. To illustrate, I have a column with an exchange rate calculated and another column with a Net Value calculated with this exchange rate. If I run the query by displaying all the items, the result is correct, but when I display only the total, instead of the sum of all items, I have the total recalculated with the formulas. How to solve this problem?
Thx in advance for your help!

what i understand from your comment is irrespective of whether your drill down via items in report
the calcuation ( exchange rate and netvalue should happen at each item level and aggregation .
    am i right???
if yes then you need to create a formula variable on sales doc number and another one on  sales item no.
definition of formula variable would be replacement path on corresponding infoobject mentioned above.
    and attribute value constant 1.
mulitply both the formula variable in your CKF  netvalue .
calculation would always happen at sales doc item level and then aggregation .
another option is to use exception aggregation .

  • Hiding lines in a query while using the overall results

    Hi all,
We got a hierarchy with 4 levels. Each element of the first level after the root "L1" (2nd level in real) receive amounts called "INITIAL". The next step is to send and dispatch these amounts to the 3rd level "L2". At this point, the L2s can send to each other amounts which are then typed as "TRANSFER" and no more "INITIAL" or send and dispatch to the 4th level elements.
We isolated these movements to emphasize on the L2s which is part of the query goal. The lines as then restricted to the L2s. The next column must compare as a percentage the amounts typed "TRANSFER" to the amounts a the their L1s (father node).
<u>Our need is to know how to receive an overall result ("INITIAL" amounts on L1s) at the level 2 strictly.</u>
    Type of hierarchy :
    1. ROOT
       2. L1A : INITIAL (1000€)
          3. L21-1A : INITIAL (700€) -> TRANSFER type for 200€
             4...
          3. L22-1A : INITIAL (300€) -> TRANSFER type for 100€
             4...
       2. L2A : INITIAL
          3. L21-2A : INITIAL & TRANSFER
             4...
          3. L22-2A : INITIAL & TRANSFER
             4...
<b>The result of the query is :
    L21-1A : 20% (is 200/1000)
    L22-1A : 10%</b>
Thanks in advance for your help.

    HI,
I would suggest you to create a new KF with a formula to check if any of the KF value is zero for example..
    New KF =(( col1 == 0) OR (col2 == 0) OR (col3 == 0) )
You then hide this new KF always in the query and create a condition to display rows where the New KF is not equal to 1.
This will hide all the rows which have any of the 3 KF's as 0.

  • Modifying the text "Result" and "Overall Result" in a BEx query output

    Hi,
    1) Is it possible to modify the text "Result", "Overall Result" which appears in the sub-total and grand total lines of BEx query output? I do not see any related setting the properties area of the object in BEx Query designer. Do I have to write some VB code or can I do something in Customer Exits?
Also my client wants that this text need to be made dynamic such as "Sub-Total for the month of Jan 2006".
I can use work book option and change the texts manually. But this is not meeting my clients requirement.
2)Is it possible to have dynamic title text for a BEx query?
We are on BW 3.5 & if any of you could provide / guidance to the above issue.
    Thanks,
    Venkatram

You will have to use VB Macros to change the text "Result" and "Overall Result", there is not settings in the query designer for the same.
You can have dynamic descriptions for queries using text variables like Expense Query for month of Jan 2006, if user selected Jan 2006.
    Thanks.

  • Overall result in Query designer displaying ' * ' for one kf when executing

    Hello
I have a got a kf in which value ' * ' is getting displayed when i have done display overall results for one of my chars. Now what i am hoping is that this can be because there are too many records in the display and the total is too huge and that is the reason it is disaplying * in it. Please can somone guide me if there is some setting that can be done

    Hi Tom,
This is because you have different unit or currency in the data record and you can not sum it if they are different unit/Currency therefore system is showing you *.
You can try NODIM(KF) and see if it is adding or try currency or unit conversion at query level so that all records in the query have same unit/currency.

  • Query with a condition - Overall results row is wrong

    Hello,
I have a query that uses a condition.  The query gives me the top 10 brands according to the Net Sales.  The query itself runs fine.  I just noticed however that the Overall Result row isn't giving me the correct number.
    For example:
    <b>BRAND            NETSALES    MARGIN %</b>
    Brand1           $100        25%
    Brand2           $60         10%
    Brand3           $20         15%
    <b>OVERALL RESULT   $210        2%</b>
As you can see it does not add up or average correctly.  This query has no macros or anything, it only uses a condition.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Nick

A workaround I have found is the manual directions in this OSS note: 572910
    Anyone have any follow up?

  • Query with a condition - Overall results row displays incorrect value

    Hi All,
I have a bw query with top 40 conditions. However, The Overall Result Row Figures Do Not Equal The Sum of the Column Rows.
Although the top condition is activated, the overall result still displays the overall result of the whole report.
I have 3 columns in the report
    Selected Period
    Prior Period and
    Variance
The formula for variance is (Selected Period/Prior Period)-1.
Does anyone have an idea to fix this?
Thank you so much in advance.
    Have a great day!

    Hi Gaurav,
Thank you so much for your reply, however this does not solve fully the issue.
Changing the properties to "Summation" will indeed provide me with the correct sum for the "selected period" and "Prior Period." However what I need in the Overall Result Row for the "Variance" column is not the total but instead the value when the total of Selected Period is divided by Prior Period then minus 1.
Overall Variance = (Overall Selected Period/Overall Prior Period)-1
Do you know a way to make this possible.
    Thank you so much.

  • Wrong overall result population in the query output

    Hi All,
I have few issues with my query..
we have a query which gives  report about the brand name, brand element, brand group, netsales, cumulative sales and royality percentage.
    1. the over all result for the Royality percentage is not getting calulated properly... i have compared the result setting of the other fields which get proper overall result.  i dint find any difference even then i face this issue
    2. The royality percentage is a% of netsales.. but here is issue is when i drill down thro Brand element i am getting proper amount i.e. a% of current sales but when i remove drill down am getting wrong value... and this happens only for one brand not for others...i dont understand why is this happening..
    3. let us consider we have 4 brands.  for 2 brands my royality percentage is getting calculted properly but for 2 brands it is showing wrong value.
can anyone help me out in this issue...
i dint get even a single clue regarding this... need your expert help

    Hi ,
in our report we have calculated roayality fee based up on current net sales.
current sales comes directly from the infoprovider..
the royality fee is 6% of current net sales for each brand element.
    Now the issues are
    1. we have four brands... for two brands we are getting correct Royality fee.. i.e. exact 6% of its respective current net sales.
but for two brands we are not getting the 6% value..
    2. There is one more field named Brand Element.  when i drill down the Brand element, for one brand (out of two which gets wrong royalty fee) alone my royalty fee is getting differed.
ex. with drill down royalty fee is 82.5 (which is 6% of its current net sales)
after removing the drill down royalty fee is 63.5 (Which is not related)
it is not happening for other brands.. why is it behaving so.
    3.  What ever the royalty fee is the overall result of the royalty fee is not getting calculated properly..
I.e.  for four brands if i calculate the total of royalty fee it comes around 380
but now it is displayed as 272 (no idea what total it is)
thanks for the help in advance

  • Query Builder results seem to max out at 500 lines.  How to change?

    Hi all,
Some of out Application Express users are using the Query Builder tool for ad-hoc reporting. The idea is to run the SQL to extract the data, then download to MS Excel. The Query Builder results seem to max out at 500 lines. I want to increase that value. I searched all Application Express forums for 'query builder output max 500' and then 'query builder output' and did not find the answer.
How do I change the 500 line limit in Query Builder results?
    Thanks!

    Bryan,
Here is a link to an HTML-DB studio application, that is a QBE "replacement" for the query tool in APEX development..
    http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=18326:7:1387557504245687::::P7_ID:1222
It is for an older version of APEX, but you should be able to make it work for your needs..

  • Problem of running the jump query from the result line

    Dear expert,
I have a problem when running a jump query from the result line. Apparently, the values of the caracteristics haven't been sent to the jump target.  However, the configuration in RSBBS seems to be good as the jump works well from the other lines.
Does anyone have some ideas on that?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
If you are supposed to bring across characteristic values to your target, then you will not be able to jump from the result line. The configuration expects that the values of the characteristic marked as being used in the jump are filled with unique values. When you use the result line as a source for your jump, the values in the result line will most likely be based on the sum of multiple characteristic values.

  • How to get  the Overall result and Avg in Query

    Hi
I am facing a problem to find Overall result and Avg for the keyfigure.
    Here is the scenario.
I have a fiscalperiod ,qty in query column and material in row, when user enters the fiscalperiod(004.2006 to 006.2006)
    the output should come as
       0406 0506 0606  Avg
    M1  10  20   40     35
    M2  20  40   30     45
    res 30  60  70
i can able to get the overall result not avg,
if i change the properities of keyfigure 'Calicuate Result as 'Average of all values'',then i am loosing the overall result.
eitherway i can able to get one result, not both.
    anybody can help.
    Thanks
    Madhu

You have 2 key figures and you have put Material in the ROWS.
Remove Material from ROWS and instead use 0FISCYEAR in the row selection.
You can create 12 Key figures for each month and use either Filer or Free Characteristic using 0CALMONTH to restrict the month for the selection Variable.
For the Key Figures use "Calculate Single Value as" Average.
Create another formula as KF1KF2....+KF12 to get the sum of average.

  • Problem regarding data function 'SUMGT' (Overall Result) in BEx query desig

    Hi,
I have created one query where I want to see the inventory data month wise. That's why at first I have placed 0calmonth (with variable) in column, secondly kept all the key figures which I want to see month wise under one structure, then placed the structure under 0calmonth in column. Now in that structure I have one key figure like 'total stock' and another global calculated key figure '% of total inventory' (='total stock' <b>%A</b> <b>SUMGT</b> 'total stock').
Now the problem is when ever I'm giving the value of month from 02.2006 to 05.2006, it is calculating the value of '% of total inventory' for every month with respect to the overall result of 'total stock' for month 05.2006.
But I want to calculate the value of '% of total inventory' for each month with respect to the overall result of 'total stock' for corresponding month.
Please suggest what I'll do now.
    Thanks,
    Arijit.

    Hi,
now i got whats the issue is.
Check aggregation properties of 'total stock'(RSD1>provide tech name of total stock>display-->aggragation tab)...
Exception aggregation would have been set to <b>'Last Value'</b> with some time char as aggregation ref characteristic..
That is the reason why  SUMGT (or %SUMGT) is calculating on Last value of the 0calmonth interval.
i.e if you provide 02.2006 to 07.2006, %of total inventory for every month would be with respect to value of 07.2006...
    Hope this helps...
Dont forget to reward if it helps!
    thanks
