Query regarding entity_type in eam_work_orders_v table

Hi All,
This is regarding the Enterprise Asset Module in Oracle.
I have the following 2 queries -
select * from eam_work_orders_v where wip_entity_name = 'XYZ'
and
select * from wip_entities where wip_entity_name = 'XYZ'
The first query does not return any rows whereas the second query returns some output.
Reason being that eam_work_orders_v has a check that entity type should be 6 or 7 and the wip_entity_name which i am querying has entity_type as 3.
Can anyone please tell me where is this entity type set and what is its significance related to eam work orders.

Shruti

Hi,
What is the application release?
Set the application context as per the following documents and see if you can get any data then.

  • Query regarding passivation and PS_TXN tables

    Hi All ,
    I am working on a read only Dashboard UI where the DB user has only read privileges.
    The jbo.server.internal_connection uses the same DB connection to create PS_TXN & PS_TXN_SEQ tables which fails for obvious reasons & I get the error -
    "Couldnot create persistence table PS_TXN_seq".
    I have disabled passivation at all the VO levels and also disabled jbo.isSupportsPassivation to be false at the AMLocal level , but still I am getting this error.
    I have also increased the initial AM pool size in bc4j.xcfg & Connection Pool at the weblogic server level to avoid snapshots been written to this table.
    Is there any way I can prevent any interaction with this table as the client too is not interested in any kind of passivation to happen for the time being.
    Thanks

    Thanks for your reply Chris.
    Chris Muir wrote:
    You might be taking the wrong approach to solving this. Rather than disabling the AM pooling (which btw is not supported by Oracle) to the database, instead you can get ADF to passivate to file or memory of the app server.I am confused as to what exactly jbo.ampool.issupportspassivation = false does then ? I read on one of the blogs that its a viable use case for Programatic VOs ?
    Also regarding passivating to file system as per http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/b31974/bcstatemgmt.htm#ADFFD1307 , its not really a recommended approach.. hence was not going for that.
    Can you please throw some more light ?

  • Query regarding the data type for fetcing records from multiple ODS tables

    hey guys;
    i have a query regarding the data type for fetcing records from multiple ODS tables.
    if i have 2 table with a same column name then in the datatype under parent row node i cant add 2 nodes with the same name.
    can any one help with some suggestion.

    Hi Mudit,
    One option would be to go as mentioned by Padamja , prefxing the table name to the column name or another would be to use the AS keyoword in your SQL statement.
    AS is used to rename the column name when data is being selected from your DB.
    So, the query  Select ename as empname from emptable will return the data with column name as empname.

  • Query regarding Partition table Explain plan

    Hello,
    We are amidst a tuning activity, wherein a large table has been partitioned for better administration. During testing, I was analyzing the explain plans for long running sql's and found a piece that I was unable to understand. The PSTART and PSTOP columns show ROWID as its value, which in normal partition pruning scenario be the Partition number or the KEY. I tried to look around for this issue but did not get enough information. Can anybody help me of what it means? Also, if there is a good explanation of the same, it will be extremely helpful.
    The snippet from explain plan looks like:
    | Id  | Operation                                | Name                          | Rows  | Bytes |TempSpc| Cost (%CPU)| Time     | Pstart| Pstop |
    7 |        TABLE ACCESS BY GLOBAL INDEX ROWID| XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX             | 43874 |  9083K|       |  1386   (1)| 00:00:17 | ROWID | ROWID |
    On another similar query it looks like:
    | Id  | Operation                             | Name                         | Rows  | Bytes |TempSpc| Cost (%CPU)| Time     | Pstart| Pstop |
    |   6 |     TABLE ACCESS BY GLOBAL INDEX ROWID| XXXXXXXXXXXXXX               | 22455 |  4648K|       |   456   (1)| 00:00:06 |     9 |     9 |
    I have another query with regards to the Partition tables. Does it, require/benefit if, the Indexes to be in partitioned mode? I tried to read about it but did not get a conclusive evidence. I am trying to test it and post here the outcome, but if anybody has experience of working with it, it would be great to have some advice.
    Oracle Version:- 10.2.0.4

    I have two questions....
    1. How to delete one table either of KNA1 or BSIS from the query sq02

    please help me out

    Hi,
    1. I dont think a table can be deleted from the created query u need to create one
        new query
    2. Better use VBRK for document currency.
        I dont think one can suggest u to use one particular table
        First u c what r the field values that r required to u. then press F1 and go for
        technical information to get the name of the table and field.

  • Oracle query on dblinked SQL Server tables returns ORA-00904 error

    Hi,
    I have created a dblink to a SQL Server database from Oracle using Generic Connectivity.
    The following query returns ORA-00904 Invalid Identifier error in the WHERE clause (tblEmp.Empno)
    SELECT "EmpNo","EmpName", "DeptName"
    FROM tblEmp@sqlserver,
    tblDept@sqlserver
    WHERE tblDept.DeptNo = tblEmp.Empno
    I had to enclose the column names in double quotes due to case sensitivitiy of the columns, but I can't do the
    same for the WHERE clause.
    1) So, how do I fix this error ?
    2) Also how do I include Deptno column with table alias in the columns list?
    (Deptno is ambiguous in Emp and Dept tables)
    Regards,
    Sam

    Alex
    Because using the aliases all the time can become annoying and lead to disparate standards when used by multiple developers. For a one-off query I would go with aliases in the query but if the linked tables are going to be interrogated extensively I would prefer to create vanilla views of the underlying tables so that the aliases aren't necessary.
    Just my opinion, it feels a bit cleaner to do it this way - you only do the work once in creating the view and then you don't need to worry about the case sensitivity of the linked database. You can also refer to the source in the name of the view so you don't have to think about different source databases with the same table names.
    Cheers

The plan won't change automatically as long as you won't refresh the statistics. This is wrong even for Oracle 9i. Here are couple of examples when a plan might change with the same optimizer statistics:
    * when you have a histogram on a column and are not a bright person to use bind variables, you might get a completely different execution plan because of a different incoming value. All that is needed to fall into this habit - a soft parse, which might be due to different reasons, for instance, due to session parameter modification (which also might change a plan even without a histogram)

  • Query regarding updating rows in JTable

    Query regarding updating rows in JTable
    Hello,
    I have a JTable with 6 columns and 1000s of rows (which are data read from flat files)
    I can select 1 or more rows and change the values of the
    columns. each time I do this I need to update the values
    in the flat file.
    Currently I assign the updated Jtable values to a vector
    Vector rowVector = (Vector)defaultModel.getDataVector();
    then I iterate over the vector and compare the values with the (old) data
    in the JTable.
                for(int rowCount = 0; rowCount<rowVector.size(); rowCount++){
                    Vector v = (Vector)rowVector.elementAt(rowCount);
                        //smsList is the Vector that contains the old JTable values
                        for(int i=0; i<smsList.size(); i++){
                                //If colums values have been changed; add that
                                //vector value to another vector
                                selectedsmsList.add(smsList.get(i));
                for(int i=0; i<selectedsmsList.size(); i++){
                         //Update the values in the flat file
                }This works fine except that it takes ages to iterate over the updated vecor and un-updated,old vector; is there any way to directly get the list of rows that were updated in the jtable; so that I can directly do an I/O operation to update the jtablke values?

    Just a suggestion.
    You could add a listener and use a vector of booleans to keep track of the rows that have been changed. You could then iterate through this boolean vector and update the changed rows.
    See
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/table.html#modelchange
    Don't know whether this will be helpful.

  • Query regarding Inline Query and a Join.Please see

    I have a query regarding Inline Queries
    I have 2 tables
    TRADE and POSTING
    TRADE has Primary Key:id_trade_ref and POSTING has Foriegn.Key: id_trade_ref
    id_trade_ref 5V973781B has 5 records in POSTINGS
    If i need to join these 2 tables,I use
    1) Select t.id_entity,t.id_trade_ref,p.am_stock
       from trade t,posting p
       where t.id_trade_ref = '5V973781B'
       and   p.id_trade_ref = '5V973781B'
    2) Now I can use the same as an Inline Query:
       select
       t.id_entity,
       t.id_trade_ref,
       (  select p1.am_stock
          from posting p1
          where p1.id_entity =  t.id_entity
          and   p1.id_trade_ref= t.id_trade_ref
          and   p1.id_posting_type in ( 'NEW', 'CAN')
    from
    trade t
    where t.id_entity = 'DBL'
    and   t.id_trade_ref = '5V973781B'
    My Query:
    Of the two,which is a better option to use.?
    Is Inline a better option or a normal join?

    I would rewrite the first one to:
    Select t.id_entity,t.id_trade_ref,p.am_stock
    from trade t,posting p
    where t.id_trade_ref = '5V973781B'
    and p.id_trade_ref = t.id_trade_ref
    This way, you really make the join between the table.
    I think the join is better because it uses less code. I do not think you will notice much performance win between one or the other, especially because it concerns only a few rows.

    Hi All,
    Facing an issue in fetching data from multiple physical sources in OBIEE,
    We have 2 facts tables on different databases, having same columns.

    OBIEE version:

    OS Windows

    Hi Nikhil,
    If you have identical columns in both the sources, obiee will always choose only one LTS .To understand how to force multiple LTSs in query, check this thread:
