Query resulting Incorrect values
Hello ALL.
I need your suggestions on this issue.
I have a Query on top of multiprovider which is on top of 6 cubes. In the query one RKF is resulting wrong values for Unassigned WBS Element Hierarchy.
<u><b>RF: Forecast amount</b></u>
0amount, Version:01, Vtype:20,Company Code:100,Fiscyear=2008 and Posting Period=1-12.
Query resulting: 68,000 and Where as Multi prvider has only 2 rows satisfying the above Restrictions and giving 13,000.
These wrong values are only for Unassgined Nodes of WBS Element.(Rows) Other node values are correct.
I am not sure where it is getting these values?
Kindly suggest.
Thanks,
Geetha
<u></u>
Can you chk if you have the values in the multiprovider?

Dynamic query getting incorrect values due to version restriction
Hi,
I'm using query designer version 6.40, Support Package 16, we currently can't update this due to other problems.
In one of my queries I have a dynamic row structure. The static column structure has three columns and is restricted on actual, forecast and budget version variables. In the default values I have 0CS_VERSION restricted to a generic version variable, say v0.
However, when I run the query, v0 overwrites all the other version variables. If I remove v0 I get the error message shown below. I have tried to combine removing v0 and the consolidation group default values but that doesn't work either. I've moved v0 into the free characteristics and I have attempted to set it to all of the other versions, this also results in the error below. I've checked through SAP notes and the forum and haven't found anything, any help would be appreciated.
"Version not specified or not unique"
Diagnosis
You need to specify the version in the report to enable the system to determine the consolidation units each consolidation group consists of. The version must be specified per cell and must be unique per cell. This is not the case in this report.
One of the following conditions exist:
No version was specified.
The specified version no longer exists.
The version is not unique.
System Response
Processing terminated
Procedure
Enter the version for each cell in a unique way.
Procedure for System AdministrationOne of our in-house guys has found the solution. The problem was that there were values in the default values which were superfluous. For example: in the default values we had fiscal year = fiscal year variable, in the column structure we set the fiscal year variable to an offset of -1. Once we'd removed all of the extra default values the version was no longer a problem and the query ran correctly taking in all the different versions required.

So, I work on a legacy CF web site and there are numerous SELECT * FROM USERS_TABLE queries all over the site.
Well, we changed the structure of said table in the database on our Testing and Staging sites, with no issues.
When we pushed up to our production environment and changed the structure of the production DB table, the server kept kicking back "Value can not be converted to requested type."
After doing some searching out there, it looks like CF caches the structure of the table, and you either have to restart CF to clear it, or rename and then name-back the DSN to fix the issue.
http://www.bennadel.com/blog/194-ColdFusion-Query-Error-Value-Can-Not-Be-Converted-To-Requ ested-Type.htm
That said, this doesn't happen in our testing and staging environments - so what would be the difference?
Is there some setting I need to change in the CF Admin to keep this from happening again?Also, if you can use a Stored Procedure to retrieve the data, do so. Standard queries gets all the information, anyway, chokes bandwidth passing it all to the CF server, and forces the CF server to filter, sort, and format the data. SPs tell the db server to get ONLY the data requested, and forces the db server to filter and sort the data, leaving only formatting to the CF server.
That's not true. The only time CF messes with data returned from the DB is if there's a maxrows attribute, and the record set returnded from the DB has more than that number of records... which causes CF to truncate the recordset to the correct size before returning it. The DB might or might not stop sending rows down to CF after CF says "yeah, I've got all I want now".
Other than that, for all intents and purposes all CF does with the SQL is pass it to the DB and wait for an answer. The only thing it does to the returned data is to create a CF record set ("query") with it... this does not involve any filtering and sorting.

SQL query result shoes value ids instead of value names
Hi All,
Pleaes i need help.
When selecting top 1000 result from a table, it give me a lot of result taht are useful for me. But one column named "subcategory", it give me the Subcategory ID instead of Subcategory NAme
The Subcategory Information are taken from another column that belong to another table (sometimes from another DB)
I would like to substitue (or somethink similar) the subcategory ID's with Subcagtegory names.
here details:
Date
Category Name (CATEGORY)
Subcategory ID (ITEM ID)
Date
Name of Table 1 belonging to Another DB 1 in Altro DB
Item ID, that is present in a Column of Table 1
Date
Name of Table 4 belonging to Another DB 1 in Altro DB
Item ID, that is present in a Column of Table 4
Date
Name of Table 1 Belonging to Another DB 1 in Altro DB
Item ID, that is present in a Column of Table 1
Date
Name of Table 2 Belonging to Another DB 1 in Altro DB
Item ID, that is present in a Column of Table 2
Can you help me please?
thanksI think what you need is a simple join
ie like below
SELECT t.[Date],t.CATEGORY,s.SUBCATEGORYNAME,.. other columns
FROM YourTable t
INNER JOIN AltroDB.dbo.SUbCategoryTable s
ON s.IDField = t.ITEMID
IDField is field corresponding to ITEMID value in subcategory table.

Query key figures showing incorrect values
Hi,
key figures in my query are showing incorrect values NO CALC POSSIBLE
Data in the cube is coming from different datasources and the cube is compressed.
this is how data in the cube looks like
plant Unit currency Stock Quantity Stock Value total ( *** key figure ( inflow and outflow)
P001 ST 1000 0
P001 EUR 100
Query result
plant stock(PC) Stock Quantity Stock Value total ( cumy figure ( inflow and outflow)
P001 No Cal possible 1000 100 No Cal possible
How do I resolve in query or cube level so that the NO CALC possible is not displayed.
thanksHi,
Indeed my cube is a copy of 0IC_C03.
Could you please explain more about the filtering.
I have the following key figures
0TOTALSTCK
0ISSTOTSTCK
0RECTOTSTCK
ZISSSTCK_VALUE
ZREC_VALUE
ZTOTSTKVALUE
ZTOTSTKVALUE is CKF with inflow and outflow of ZISSSTCK_VALUE
ZREC_VALUE
Whenever there is 0 it displays NO CALC possible. I would like to have it blank or 0s.

Create SP that returns value and at the same time displays query result in output window
I would like create an SP which will return the records from the table and also return value to my c# client application.
For Example:
Select * from employee returns all the query results in output window.
Now I want to create an SP
Create procedure Test
As
Declare @ret int,
Select * from employee
set @ret = Select count(*) from employee
if @ret > 0
return 1
else
return 0
The above algo should return 1 0r 0 to c# client application and at the same time display all employees in sql query output window.
Can u pls help in this regard.The above algo should return 1 0r 0 to c# client application and at the same time display all employees in sql query output window.
Why? and No!
Why? Your procedure generates a resultset of some number of rows. You check the resultset for the presence of rows to determine if "anything is there". You don't need a separate value to tell you this. Note that it helps
to post tsql that is syntactically correct. While we're at it, if you just need to know that rows exist there is no need to count them since that does more work than required. Simply test for existence using the appropriately-named function
"exists". E.g., if exists (select * from dbo.employee).
No! A stored procedure does not display anything anywhere. The application which executes the procedures is responsible for the consumption of the resultset; it chooses what to do and what to display.
Lastly, do not get into the lazy habit of using the asterisk in your tsql code. That is not best practice. Along with that, you should also get into the following best practice habits:
schema-qualify your objects (i.e., dbo.employee)
terminate every statement - it will eventually be required. -

How to get POF object's field value from query result
hi,all:
I want to get field value from the query result, my code is below
Set setResults = cache.entrySet(createFilter("homeAddress.state = 'MA'"));

Contact c=(Contact)iter.next();
System.out.println ("firstame####=" + c.getFirstName());

who can tell me how to get POF object's field value from query resultHi,
If you look at the Java Doc for the entrySet method here http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15357_01/coh.360/e15725/com/tangosol/util/QueryMap.html#entrySet_com_tangosol_util_Filter_ you will see that it returns a Set of Map.Entry instances so you need to do this...
Set setResults = cache.entrySet(createFilter("homeAddress.state = 'MA'"));
for (Iterator iter = setResults.iterator(); iter.hasNext(); )
Map.Entry entry = iter.next();
Contact c=(Contact)entry.getValue();
System.out.println ("firstame####=" + c.getFirstName());

Incorrect query results with conformResultsInUnitOfWork
Hi,
has anybody experienced this:
Take two classes User and Group
Group has a 1:n Mapping to User (attribute users)
User has a 1:1 Mapping to User (attribute partner).
Following query returns too many objects
User user1 = someUserObject;
ReadAllQuery readAllQuery = new ReadAllQuery(Group.class);
Expression e = builder.anyOf("users").get("partner").equal(user1);
readAllQuery.setSelectionCriteria(e);
readAllQuery.conformResultsInUnitOfWork();
Vector vector = (Vector) unitOfWork.executeQuery(readAllQuery);
It returns
- the correct Group object as determined from the sql query +
- any other objects of the same class that are fully instantiated (users is instantiated and for each user, partner is instantiated), even if they don't conform to the expression.
The same query works properly ;
- without conformResults
- or if the other objects are not fully instantiatedHi,
we need an workaround badly and the support is moving at exactly the rate I feared it would.
So I thought, since we only hit this bug with existing objects and we use conformResultsInUnitOfWork because we want to find the newly created objects, is there a way to get
- the SQL Query results
+ any new objects that conform to the query
We still might get new objects that don't conform to the query (this is the bug) but I'll worry about that later if it happens.
My first attempt at a solution looks like this:
1. turn off conformResults
2. manually add all new objects that conform to the query
I had to guess a little for 2, since I don't know what exactly toplink does to select the "conform" objects.
private static List findConformNewObjects(UnitOfWork unitOfWork, ReadAllQuery query) {
List result = new ArrayList();
Class resultClass = query.getReferenceClass();
Expression selectionCriteria = query.getSelectionCriteria();
Enumeration enumeration;
IdentityHashtable newObjectsCloneToOriginal = unitOfWork.getNewObjectsCloneToOriginal();
if (newObjectsCloneToOriginal != null && newObjectsCloneToOriginal.size() > 0)
enumeration = newObjectsCloneToOriginal.keys();
while (enumeration.hasMoreElements())
Object o = enumeration.nextElement();
if (resultClass.isInstance(o))
if (selectionCriteria != null && selectionCriteria.doesConform(o, unitOfWork, null, query.getInMemoryQueryIndirectionPolicy()))
result.add(o);
return result;
Does this look OK to you? Is there a better way to do it?

InfoSet query results confusion...
HI All,
We have 2 ODS. One is Billing and the other is Project Sales. In the billing ODS we have billing documents that have the billing date (calmonth) and employee. The projected sales is an ODS that has for each employee for each month, their Projected Sales.
We have created an InfoSet and linked in the billing ODS the calmonth (in billing) to period field (in Projected Sales) and 0SALESEMPLOYEE (in billing) to PERNR (in Projected) ODS.
The Projected Sales ODS has exactly 1 entry for each employee for each month. i.e. employee '12345' for 200501 a projected sales of 10,000. With the above mapping the query results for projected sales is about 50X more. In other words, it shows 30 million when it should be 150,000. I think this has to do with it somehow including results from the billing ODS??
We've read help about interpreting infoset query results and it's quite confusing. It speaks of some filter option to exclude query result set, but can't figure it out.
In addition to the monthly projected sales we want to see for each employee, we want to include all the net sales they had for the same month. So you can see the mapping we did above.
Query would look like this:
Calmonth Employee NetSales ProjSales
200501 123456 220,000 10,000
The projected sales is entirely off by millions of dollars and also the net value isn't calculating correctly. I'm sure out setup is incorrect.
Can someone help us out please.
Thanks
MikeHi Ashish,
What you explained is exactly what is the case.
The billing ODS has many, many entries for the for the employee + calmonth combination while the projected sales only has 1. I've figured out that this is what is happening...multiplying the number of entries in the billing X the Projected Sales.
Is there a way to avoid this with a particular join in InfoSet?
The key for billing ODS has billing number, billing item and fiscal year variant, while the key for projected sales is start period and pernr. So I don't see how a multiprovider would work because the fields are different...am I incorrect?
Thanks for your quick reply,
Mike -
For someone new to Adobe the forums and products can be bewildering. I've been advised to repost something I posted in Flash Data Integration in this forum.
Here is the link to the post I put there:
http://forums.adobe.com/message/2363777#2363777
I have reported this bug: http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FB-23750
I gather bugs get fixed if people vote for them to be fixed. Please vote for it to be fixed. It is serious, and you might not even realize you're suffering from it because the incorrect values returned by the query will seem perfectly plausible.
If the link above doesn't work, here it is again:
When I execute the following query in Flex and/or Lita:
select wrdid, uspelling from WRD WHERE uspelling = 'wingeard'
the results are:
uspelling...wrdid
wingeard 3137
Look at what comes back when I execute this query using .NET provider by Robert Simpson for SQLite and SQLite Manager by Mrinal Kant:
SELECT rowid, wrdid, uspelling
FROM WRD
WHERE (uspelling = 'wingeard')
rowid.......wrdid...........uspelling
3137........3042............wingeard
No wonder none of my queries with joins is working correctly in Flex.
wrdid is defined as "int" not INTEGER.
http://www.sqlite.org/lang_createtable.html (see INTEGER PRIMARY KEY section):
"The special behavior of INTEGER PRIMARY KEY is only available if the type name is exactly "INTEGER" (in any mixture of upper and lower case.) Other integer type names like "INT" or "BIGINT" or "SHORT INTEGER" or "UNSIGNED INTEGER" causes the primary key column to behave as an ordinary table column with integer affinity and a unique index, not as an alias for the rowid." [emphasis added]
Now, I happen to think the SQLite developers made a mistake here in failing to follow standards, preferring not to break legacy code. They'd rather break current code instead??? I would not characterize this as a "corner case" and the bug-at-hand is de facto evidence of that.Did you try running the queries I posted? What were your results with those?
What I am seeing is that when I use "int PRIMARY KEY" in a CREATE TABLE statement, that column becomes the special "rowid" column. I believe this is also what you are seeing.
However, what confuses me is how you're getting a table with three columns "rowid", "id", and "name" in the first place. When I run this SQL...
CREATE TABLE test
id int PRIMARY KEY,
name String
...I get a table with two columns: a normal column named "name", and a special primary key column named "id", which for this table is identical to the column represented by the rowid identifier.
However, if I understand correctly, your table has three columns, "id", "name", and the special primary key column (i.e. "rowid"). Is that right? Can you give me the SQL that was used to create the table, or tell me how the table was created (e.g. if you used a tool like Lita) so I can try to re-create your exact situation? That would really be very very helpful -- it was the only detail that was missing in your last post, so I had to guess on that one detail.
I tried something else to re-create your situation. I ran the following statement:
CREATE TABLE test
id int
name String
That gave me a table with two real columns plus the rowid column. Then I ran the three insert statements on that table, and when I ran the select statement I got the expected result:
id name
1 one
2 two
7 seven
Again, I'm guessing that your table was created differently than my test table, and that's the explanation for the difference.
Some other possibilities to consider:
The screen shot doesn't show a SQLResult object, so it seems that you're using some wrapper library or code to execute the query, or at least that you've copied the SQLResult.data Array to another variable named results. Although it seems less likely to me, it's possible that somewhere in that code something is getting scrambled. (But I'd rather rule out AIR as the underlying cause first before attempting to explore those paths.)
As a side note, if you really want the database to have three columns (the special rowid column and your two columns id and name), and you don't want id to be the special rowid column, then it sounds to me like you don't actually want to define id as the primary key. If you just want the id column to have a constraint that prevents duplicate values, you can define it as a UNIQUE column:
CREATE TABLE test
id int UNIQUE,
name String
That gives you the same database-enforced constraint of not allowing duplicate values, but it tells the database explicitly that id isn't the same thing as the rowid primary key. (You can still join another table to the id column even if it's not defined as the primary key.)
P.S. I'm sure you don't mean it this way, but using gigantic red text comes across like shouting -- it's very "loud". I'm trying my best to understand the issue you're having and help you resolve it, and using multiple colors and font sizes doesn't really make your post any more or less clear. Just because I ask you questions, or say that I'm seeing different results than you, doesn't mean I don't believe that you're seeing the results you're seeing. I've definitely seen strange variations and cases where something happens on my computer but others can't duplicate it on their computers -- so I believe that you are getting the results you're getting. I'm just trying to figure out how to make it so that I can also get those results, so that I can pass that on to the engineers who are in a position to make changes. -
Warning Message in query result as 'Notification Number DBMAN 345'
Hi ,
I have a warning message while executing the query
'Diagnosis
Currently, it cannot be guaranteed that SIDs and master data exists for all characteristic attributes for the DataStore object to be read.
There is a restriction on a navigation attribute of the listed characteristic in the query. This filters all characteristic values of the master-data bearing characteristic for which there is not yet master data out of the result.
For performance reasons, this filtering is unavoidable.

'i am getting this error because of cutomer exit variables on navigatioanl attributes of Omaterial'
I tried supressing it in RSRT.. but unable to find the message.
I tried debugging and assigning enhancement points in FM BAL_LOG_MSG_READ.. As it is standard function module its not suggestable to do..
can we creat custom FM ?? will it be called if we write code to supress warning message??
Please let me know how to use BADI'S in order to supress the error message that appearing in query result?
Thanks All.Hi,
The warning is raised due to the following reasons:
- you have a selection in the filter of a navigation attribute
- in your DSO you do not use the option "SIDs Generation upon Activation"
If the option "SIDs Generation upon Activation" is not flagged,
you may get char.values for an Infoobject in the system not
having any SIDs. As a result you may see in the report less data as
expected.
For example we have Infoobject A with its Nav.attribute B
Infoobject A Nav.attribute B
12 13 ->> has a SID in the X-table
11 10
9 13 ->> has no SID in the X-table
If you define a selection on B =13 in the query, you only get infoobject
A with key 12 displayed in the result, since only B =13 has a SID
in the relevant X-table.
The warning refers to this behaviour and cannot be avoided unless you:
- flag the option in the ODS-settings
- or remove the filter defined on 0MATERIAL__xxxx
Thanks,
Venkat -
Saving query results to a flat file
Hello Experts!
We have a very specific issue on our current project and I would like to know if any of you have ever done something similar. We are taking query results from BW (after complex calculations, some based on SY-DATE) and saving them to flat files to transfer to a SQL database structure on the Enterprise Portal. From here, the portal team renders the information into more "static" dashboards that include mouse over features and even limited drilldown (i.e. no matter where a user clicks the report always drills down on profit center)
There are many reasons why the model is set up as such (mostly training of executive level end users), and even though it doesn't mesh with the idea that BW could do this work on its own, we have to work with what we have.
We have come up with 3 possible ways to save this data to flat files and hopefully someone can tell us which might be the most effective.
1.) Information Broadcasting. If we broadcast XML files to the portal, will the portals team be able to read that data into a SQL database? Is there another way to use broadcasting to create and send a flat file to specific location?
2.) RSCRM_BAPI. This transaction seems to not support texts.
3.) Open Hub. In order to get the open hub to work, we first have to save all of our query results to direct write data store objects using APD. (calculations based on current date, for example, would require daily full loads to the underlying data providers otherwise.)
What is the best way to accomplish this? Is information broadcasting capable of doing this?
Thanks!Hi Adam,
Do you have to use flat files to load the information to a SQL database? (if so maybe someone else has a suggestion on which way would be the best).
I try to stay away from flat file uploads as there is a lot of manual work involved. May I suggest setting up a connection to your SQL table in the DBCON table and then writing a small abap program to push data into the SQL database (which you can automate).
1) Use APD to push data into a table within BW.
2) Go to transaction SM30 > table DBCON and setup a new entry specifying the conncection parameters to your SQL database.
3) In SE38 Write an ABAP program along the folloing lines (assuming the connection you set in DBCON is named conn1:
data: con_name like dbcon-con_name
con_name = 'conn1'.
exec sql.
set connection :con_name
endexec.
****have a select statement which reads data from your table which the data is saved from the APD into an internal table**********
****loop on the internal table and have a SQL insert statement to insert the records into the SQL table as below******
exec sql.
insert into <SQL TABLE> (column names seperated by ,)
values (column names of the internal table seperated by ,) if the internal table is named itab the columns have to be specified as :itab-column1
If you decide to take this approach you may find more info on DBCON and the process in sdn. Good Luck!

How to get Query Results based on Analysis Authorization Ranges????
Hi Experts,
I have gone through the lot of SDN Links, however not able to find the answer to my question.
I have an Authorization Issue, NO Authorization
Error : EYE 007 ( Insufficient Authorizations )
<b>Here is the issue:</b>
Need to see the complete query result when I gave the range in Analysis Authorization for Controlling Area 001-005. Controlling Area is auth relevant and right now a variable is inserted in the query for it. If I select Controlling Area 001, the result for Controlling Area 001 is displayed in query. If 002 then also displayed. If I do not enter anything, then I get the <b>Eye 007 error message</b>.
I am not sure how do I display/authorize the entire result in the query for all the Controlling Areas, I have authorized user to see??

How to use one query results in another query
hi,
in help.sap I have founded that using variable type replacement path I can use one query results in another query. It is wrote there that I have to choose query name results I want to get in variable definition but I do not know where.
How I can do this?
Result I want to get is:
In one query I have material prices in another material quantities. I want to calculate inventory value (price * quantity). Moreover prices are on plant level, quantities on storage type level. Plant is atribute of storage type.
Can I do this?
Regards,
AndrzejHi Andrzej,
please check out this thread: Set parameters values depending on other parameters
I had a discussion about query results as input for another query in there.
For creating a workbook, just click on the save button after you ran your query in the bex.
