Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

Hi Dan
When i use the cfouput with the group attribute... the query only returns one of the columns from the table for stock spool sizes...
so the new query results will have 1 part which is good 10 Sol | 31.43 | 1000
but only 1000 .. when it should return 1000 | 2500 | 5000  based on that wireid

  • Why does the Query Result display "X" as a result

    Hello All,
I have a query in which there are 6 Characteristics and 1 calculated key figure. But when the query is executed the query result displays as "X" in the column against all the 6 characteristics.
Can anybody provide solution as to why the result displays "X" as a result.
    Regards,
    Vikram

    Hello all,
Everybody answered it correctly. But when i debugged the query, i did not get any calculation which is getting divided by 0 and there were no mixed units of measurements. Probably it was an erroneous transport earlier. I only created and request again and transported the query from dev and the query is running fine.
    Thanks everybody.

  • "Dead" Space before Query Results Display

We were required to use PL/SQL to create a report within HTMLDB. The report runs fairly quickly and is displayed as desired in the window with one exception. "Dead" space is always placed on the screen before the query results. In many cases, this space is only a couple of lines. In cases where the result set is a few hundred lines, there are a few hundred lines (usually a comparable number to the result set) before the query result. Therefore, the user sees an empty screen and doesn't always know to scroll down several times to reach the output. We are looking for a means to eliminate this leading space.

To perform the reqired sorting and add a checkbox to each section of the report, using PL/SQL embedded into the HTMLDB was the best method. Within the PL/SQL we used the htp.* commands to format the HTML. Unfortunately, this results in prgressively more empty lines before the actual report display with larger result sets.

  • BEX Query - Run time char InfoObjects manipulation for query results

    Hello Experts,
Iam working on BEX queries to meet following requirements,
    1)  Display only first 2 char of an InfoObject in the query results. Actual infoprovider has 24 char for this InfoObject. Example: Summary code FABCDXXXX.. But we want to show only 'FA' in query results
    2) We split a 120 char description into two 60 char InfoObjects, we need to concatenate the split char into one for query result display
    3) We need to show a specific hierarchy level, nothing before or after. For example: Eighth level for a cost element hierarchy.
    4) We need to show a constant in a column (which is not there in the table)
We are planning to use both BEX analyzer and Crystal for the reports.
I read in one of the thread that we can use formula variables/Customer exit for this but iam not very clear, if you know how to do it or if you have any step by step procedure, can you please pass it to me. Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards,

Thanks for quick response. We have users who need BEX analyzer, is there any way to handle the above requirments for BEX analyzer.

  • How can I export the query result into access(*.mdb) file?

    Dear all:
I want to export the query result displayed in jsp into excel file
and access file. And I have exported the result into excel format successfully, only one line should be added in the head of Jsp:
    <%@ page contentType="application/vnd.ms-excel; charset=gb2312" %>
But how can I export it in access(*.mdb) file? I have replaced "excel"
with "access". But it can't achive my goal.
What should I do to achieve my goal?
    Thanks!

The only reason your Excel export works is that Excel knows how to interpret comma separated values as an input file format. Access has no such beast.
If you absolutely must provide info in an mdb, one solution would be to create an ODBC datasource pointing to an empty mdb, then push data into it using the jdbc:odbc bridge, then make a copy of the file and stream it down to the browser. You may run into some ugly file locking items here - set the ODBC connection so it is not shared, and that might help.
This one is going to be ugly.
I suppose another approach would be to write a simple VB applicatin that uses automation to create an MDB, then stream that file down to the browser from your servlet. That would almost certainly be faster than the ODBC approach.

  • Create SP that returns value and at the same time displays query result in output window

I would like create an SP which will return the records from the table and also return value to my c# client application.
    For Example:
Select * from employee returns all the query results in output window.
Now I want to create an SP
    Create procedure Test
    As
    Declare @ret int,
    Select * from employee
set @ret = Select count(*) from employee
    if @ret > 0
    return 1
    else
    return 0
The above algo should return 1 0r 0 to c# client application and at the same time display all employees in sql query output window.
Can u pls help in this regard.

The above algo should return 1 0r 0 to c# client application and at the same time display all employees in sql query output window.
    Why?  and No!
Why?  Your procedure generates a resultset of some number of rows.  You check the resultset for the presence of rows to determine if "anything is there".  You don't need a separate value to tell you this.  Note that it helps
to post tsql that is syntactically correct.   While we're at it, if you just need to know that rows exist there is no need to count them since that does more work than required.  Simply test for existence using the appropriately-named function
"exists".  E.g., if exists (select * from dbo.employee).
No!  A stored procedure does not display anything anywhere.  The application which executes the procedures is responsible for the consumption of the resultset; it chooses what to do and what to display.
Lastly, do not get into the lazy habit of using the asterisk in your tsql code.  That is not best practice.  Along with that, you should also get into the following best practice habits:
    schema-qualify your objects (i.e., dbo.employee)
terminate every statement - it will eventually be required.

  • Query Result pane - disabling tooltip display of LOB data

In the query result pane of SQL Developer, if a column is too long for the display (typically, in my case, for a CLOB column) and you hover the mouse over the column data, a tooltip showing the full value appears.
For an example, do "select sql_fulltext from v$sql where rownum < 3" and hover the mouse over one of the values in the SQL_FULLTEXT column.
In our application we typically query a table with a large CLOB column, and the tooltip fills the whole screen. This is a pain if you just leave your mouse on the screen somewhere over a CLOB column while typing :-( I've looked for a way to switch off this tooltip, but haven't managed to find one. Can anyone point me at a way of doing so? Unfortunately, I'm running SQL Developer 2.1.1, but even a response along the lines of "you can only do this in 3.0 and later, and this is how" would be useful, as it might help me argue for an upgrade.
    Thanks,
    Paul

    Hi Paul,
Actually versions 3.0 and 3.1 have a very nice UI (Tools | Preferences | Mouseover Popups) to control this sort of thing, but unfortunately the settings seem only applicable to the debugger.
You might consider making a feature request for this on the SQL Developer Exchange.

  • QA: Designer's operation to Add one more Field to display in Query Result Web Part

QUESTION ABOUT Query Result Web Part presentation +1 Field
I'd be looking at a property of Web Part to look up Discussion Board through Query Result Web Part. Currently it displays 'Title' column of Discussion Board, and my caring requirement is presentation customization to hold double
columns of 'Title'+'Updated Date'. How could I add one more field 'Updated Date' to display in addition to that preexisting 'Title' field?
Any procedural steps to realize how to add Filed to display in Query Result Web Part?

    Hi Yoshihiro,
As I understand, you want to add the field to display in Query Result Web Part in SharePoint 2013.
Which web part does you use? Content query web part or search results web part?
If you use search results web part, you could edit the discussion board result template and add the updated field in the template.
You could go to Design Manager: Edit Display Templates (site setting-> look and feel->design manager->edit display template), download the Discussion Item.htm file, and edit the file.
    After editing, upload the file.
The articles below are about how to modify an existing Display Template in SharePoint 2013.

If you use content query web part, you could edit the content query web part, in the Property Mappings section select the “Change the mapping of managed”, and add the “modifiedOWSDATE” (it means the last modified date) in the line, after
that you could see the update date under the title.

  • SQL*Developer 'Query Results' Not Displaying

I have just recently installed SQL*Developer v3.2.2 and after I run a SQL query the tab 'Query Result' tab is not displayed. I have tried to show this tab and to use the arrow keys at the bottom of the screen to display this screen but I cannot view the query results. I have used v1.5.1 in the past and know that it should display when after running a query and can be resized if required but I cannot seem to show it is v3.2.2

    Hi,
Yes, I did install to a clean directory. I have even deleted all contents of the directory and re downloaded
the software again to the same directory but this did not work either it still remembered the original settings.Keep in mind there are two locations that an installation updates:
    1. The SQL Developer installation directory (which you deleted).
    2. The User-Related Information (in your "user home" directory), which is updated by the settings migration
Perhaps Jim meant you should also remove the user settings for the last SQL Developer version installed and possibly even avoid migrating the old 1.5.x settings when you first start SQL Developer after that. See the following forum thread, probably unrelated to your situation, but containing where to find the location of user-related information in the Help:

  • Options to control display performance of CLOBs, etc. in Query Result view?

Whenever I attempt to query a table that contains LOBs (e.g. a CLOB or XMLTYPE), the lack of performance pretty much makes the "Query Result" view (from F9) unusable. Any time I attempt to scroll the results, SQL developer apparently continues to query the database for the additional characters to populate the view.
Resizing the columns containing the LOB to only a few characters almost solves the issue. Unfortunately, the size of the columns showing the LOBs apparently attempt to resize to the length of the LOB, making the column several pages long - and the same performance issue prevents resizing it smaller.
Ideally, there would be some way to resize a column to a given or even a predefined and small size, without having to drag the resize handle the entire width of the desired resize amount. Alternatively, there could be a user preference to never set default column widths above a given number of pixels or characters. Another option would be a user preference to disable the in-line display of LOB contents, displaying only and requiring a click on the "..." (or pencil icon) button to open the "View Value" dialog. Ideally, all 3 of these options could be implemented.
One crude work-around I'm using for now is to exclude the LOB columns from the results, requiring me to make secondary queries to see the LOB contents when necessary, and doesn't allow for scrolling through and viewing the LOB contents at all. Another work-around is to run the query as a script (F5) instead of a query (F9), and view the results in the "Script Output" view instead.
I'm currently using SQL Developer 2.1.0.63, but experienced this same issue with all previous versions, including 1.5.5.
    Thanks!

    I agree.
When I requested to auto-width the columns, I said to build in a maximum, but apparently they didn't.
I suggest you log 2 feature requests on the SQL Developer Exchange; 1 for the maximum width, 1 for the CLOB contents/performance. Like this others can vote too and add weight for future implementation (I will).
    Have fun,
    K.
