Querying MDS Tables to find Personalisations

Hi
I have a question about the MDS tables/reposatory. Say I am new to an organisation and I want to find out what OAF Personalisations they have applied and there is no documentation. How easy or not is that information to find out from the JDR tables or is there a better method of finding it out.

Query a table using Multi Select Item

Hi everyone!
I got a page where I have this multiselect item, and I want to query a table using its values.
For example: The Multiselect item has this values: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 10
And I want to query every person who has ID_CLASS 1,4,7 and 9 by selecting those IDs from the list, and when I click que Consult button the Report displays those persons.
Whowever I can't accomplish this, I was trying to find a post about this without success.
Can anybody help me with this?

Hi,
This is my problem, I select 2 or more options in the multiple select item, then after I click the "Consult" buttom it submits the page, however only 1 option is highlighted. For example I choose the first two options, then I click Consult and the page is submitted. After that only one of the 2 options are selected, but I need to get the 2 options highlighted as selected items.
If I clear cache I think I'll lost everything. (selected items)

Query in Table Maintanance Generator

Hi,
I have a query in table maintanance generator. In tables Extract and Total we have all the entries. Is it possible to get the entry which we made in the record. I mean i need the record in this i made the changes. I cant use above tqo tables because special characters are coming. Any body can suggest.

Maheedhar,
You will have to modify the program/code that was generated from the table maintenance generator to fit your requirements.
You can accomplish this by digging through the transport that you created, or by debugging through SM30 when you add a new entry or hit the save button. You should be able to find a place to add your custom logic.
Note: If you modify this code, anytime in the future if someone re-generates this table maintenance, your custom code will be over-written.

Basic question about querying georaster tables

hello all
i have a table with georaster column containing georeferenced images covering large area. can i query the table to get an image covering any user given cooordinates . the user given coordinates can span more than one image in the table. is this possible

Yes this is possible to operate with several GeoRaster images in one or several tables. But before this you should create specific GeoRaster metadata structure to join those separate images. You can find information about this procedure in GeoRaster documentation.

I have one query about table entries.

i have one query about table entries.
suppose for particular table we maintained 5 entries in dev server. actaully in the dev we have only these 5 entries.
In production we have 200 entries actually.
If we move the cts from dev to production ,we will get 205 entries right
please help me in this.

If i understood correctly, It is a Z table and you have done some changes in DEV system. If you move this to Production, it wont effect the production entries.
There are 2 different ways you can trnasport a Table. 1. with Table entries 2. Without table entries.
If you transport with Table entries then the DEV entries in this case 5 will be moved to PRODUCTION totaling 205.
If you transport without table entries, then in Production you will find only 200 entries.

Query a table and exit when first record found

I want to query a table and just want to know if any rows matching my query criteria exist in the table. I just want to find one row, irrespective of order and stop the query right there. How do I do that?

The most efficient way would be either to use rownum = 1 as part of the condition in your second query, but, as written, both will return multiple rows. Your first will need to have an additional predicate and rownum = 1 in addition to the exists.
Assuming that the predicate can use an index, then the most efficient approach would be either:
SELECT 1 FROM table
WHERE <conditions> and
      rownum = 1or possibly:
SELECT 1 FROM dual
WHERE EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM table
              WHERE <conditions>)Both will do a range scan on the applicable index, stopping when the find the first matching entry. To my mind, the first is clearer in intent.
To illustrate the error in your first query, consider:
SQL> SELECT * FROM t;
        ID DESCR
         1 One
         2 Two
         3 Three
         4 Four
         5 Five
         1 One
         2 Two
         3 Three
         4 Four
         5 Five

Can't query, create table in WAS

hi everyone:
I encounted a problem when I query a table in WAS.
I find if I create a table by SAPDB console, then when I query that table in WAS. It always tells me "can't find that table". If I create and delpoy table by netweaver studio dictionary prospective, then I can query that table successfully in WAS. Anther thing is that I can't create a table by sql "create table..." in WAS. It always throws Exception likes below:
com.sap.sql.log.OpenSQLException: The SQL statement "CREATE TABLE "TEST2" ("C_NAME" VARCHAR(20) UNICODE DEFAULT ' ' )" contains the syntax error[s]: Open SQL syntax error: CREATE ... TABLE is not supported
SQL syntax error: "VARCHAR" is a reserved keyword and cannot be used as an unquoted identifier
I think maybe SAP WAS using open sql causes those Exception. Can someone tell me how to create a table in java program when I use open sql? Can I query tables which are not deployed by NetWeaver studio dictionary?

Query engine : Can not find DSN in Connection String

DearSir/Madam,
Opearating System Windows 7 Professional(32-bit).
I am using Application, which is developed : Visual basic 6.0(32-bit), Report Writer : Crystal Report 9.2.693(32-bit) and database: Oracle 9.2.0.10(32-bit).
ODBC Data source : System DSN created and Connection established (Based on Driver : CR ORACLE ODBC Driver 4.10 (cror818.dll))
In windows 7 environment Data Base connectivity and data fetching also wroking fine.
My problem is while running reports it display error as "Query engine : Can not find DSN in Connection String"
I want run time reports.
For your kind information, at the same time in Windows XP Professional there is no problem found and working fine.
Kindly help me.

Table.rows.find() returns null in a table where the row exists.

I am working in a Project in Visual Studio 2013 where I have to read an Excel report related with a list of business opportunities. Some of the Fields that are involved in it are: Opportunity ID, BU, Account, close date, Account Manager,
Total Value and so on. As soon as I get the conection with the Excel Report, I fill a DataTable and declare the columns [Opportunity ID] and [BU] as my Primary Keys. In that way, an Opportunity value may have one o more rows
with different BU code each of them. In consequence, you can define one row in the table if you specify the [Opportunity ID] and the [BU] values.
My problem starts when I try to get information of those rows that have an specific value of [Opportunity ID]. For that situation I make a "foreach" structure where I check the BU codes that are involved with that Opportunity. So
I use the Find() Method to get the information of the row specified by the Opportunity ID and BU. The first time it goes to find the information it gets the results successfully but in the next cycle changing just the [BU] using the same [Opportunity
ID] value, the find() method returns a "null" and I do not know why because I am sure that the row exists in the table. I have verified the "Unique" property for the [Opportunity ID] and [BU] columns (which are
my primary keys) and they are in false which is OK.
I share the code that I am using...

I am absolutely sure that the second ítem of BU is valid and exist in the table because I tried to make a "Select" statement in the table providing the values of [Opportunity ID] and [BU] and I get the expected record. So, why is not
working using Find() with the defined Primary Keys???
I tried this in order to test that the record exists...

With FM FI_IMPORT_BALANCE_SHEET_POS, you will get the account list in the internal table I011Z.

Error when querying a table through the Query Window

I am running a query on the following table in the ODT Query window - for some reason I get the error below when trying to retrieve the data - I can query the table just fine through SQL Plus - it errors out whether I use grid or text window

I found that this happens when trying to query number fields that are reals with a large decimal value (26 decimal values and above seem to be the magic number). What is strange is that I don't get this problem when I retrieve data from the same table using the Retrieve data option (versus a query for all the data in the Query Window) so they don't seem to be utilizing the same basic code to grab and then display the data interestingly enough (I am sure you knew that). Does this allow you to replicate the issue?

Hey. I am not aware of anything that can give you a flat list of providers and number of total records. It would be a fairly simple program to write though.
But, you could just go the old school route and just lookup the number of entries on the active table for the DSOs. Cube would be a bit different and would probably depend on what you really want to meassure but I guess the E table is a place to start.
I also know there are some DB size summary tables that show you number of records per table. One of those tables is DBSTATTORA (other similar tables exist). But again it is at the actual table level and not a provider summary. And I will not speak to how accurate the data is as I have not tried to validate. I will say the FM in the link posted above actually just does a number of records select on whatever table you enter.
