Question about ADF JClient applications

I have a View object based on an Entity object that represents an activity done and that has an ID of a worker that does it as a foreign key. I would also like to show the worker's name on the form, but that is an attribute not included in the View object or the Entity object. Is there an equivalent of an Oracle Forms WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM trigger in a JClient form that would permit me to do so?

Milos,
a View Object can be based on one or many Entity Objects. You can create a ViewObject that shows content from two tables, including the table containing the name of the worker. Alternatively you could use a query when creating a new attribute for the ViewObject that obtains the name of the worker. This would be a transient attribute.

SSRS reports inside SPO 2013 - Question about ADFS

Our SPO 2013 Tenant is secured by ADFS Claims Based.
I understand SSRS integrated is not available for SPO 2013.
We want to allow links from SPO 2013 to SSRS Reports that authenticate with the same ADFS tokens - so no prompting.
Possible? If so, what do we need?
Possible to provision the SSRS server in ADFS? What versions of SSRS will allow this?

Questions about a Bingo application

Hello, I'm new to programming and Java, so please excuse my lack of knowledge.
This Bingo application I'm creating pits two players with a bingo card. There are two issues that I'm having at the moment...
1. The cards contain 25 numbers and the character in the middle of the card should be a 'B' instead of a number. I've tried several things to try and get a character printed into the two dimensional array of integers, but the best I can get is the decimal number for 'B' to display. Is there an specific way of doing this?
2. The two cards can't have more than 5 numbers repeated between both of them. Both cards are displaying perfectly with the random numbers, but I can't come up with a useful algorithm to compare both two dimensional arrays. Any help on this, even if it's just a little push in the right direction, will be greatly appreciated.

1. in the middle of the card should be a 'B' instead of a numberIf I had to represent "B" in an array of (otherwise) positive integers, I'd use 0, and if 0 is a valid value I'd use -66 (-1 * asciiValueForB).
BUT... I'd recommend you rethink your approach... Why does "B" have to be in the array at all... it obviously (being not an integer) doesn't belong in array of integers... so using a marker value to represent it is "a hack".
2. Two playing cards may have upto 5 numbers in common.Question: Is this intended to be an exercise in array manipulation? (or do you want the cheats way?) If you're not sure then take the cheats way... Except, how much do you know about collections? Anything? If nothing then we'd (probably) better stick to arrays for the time being.

A Question about ADF Faces, File Uploading in distributed environment

Hello,
I am using ADF Faces for my project. In my project members will be able to create their albums and upload their photos..
The problem is that i can do upload in a single server enviroment but i dont know what will happen when count of members will grow.. What is the best way
for managing these photos in clustered enviroment. 1 Server will not be enough if too many people upload their photos.
I do not have exact server number because i will add additional server nodes when it will be necessary, so i must think how to do that before production.
Do you advice me to use XML or keep addresses of photos in database? Or anything else? As i mentioned, i dont know how many servers i will have... maybe 1 maybe 5 maybe 10.

Actually i do not want to keep all of videos and photos in database. Keeping them in directories will be better for me but i do not know how to share them between multiple server nodes..
This is the thing that i have never done before..
Can you please tell me the terms & keywords that i need look for? So i can find some documents about making this happen.

Question about ADF Menu Navigation

i create an adf application, include ADF Menus for Page Navigation.
i found the URL displayed in the browser always show previous page when switch between different tabs.

Use redirect option to create a new browser URL for the view activity.
So try adding a <redirect/> tag in the site-menu.xml as:

Question about ADF BC security

I was looking at Xtanto's inquiries and your response and this brought up something. I was under the impression that you can use the database to store userid and user information. However, passwords, roles etc have to be defined in system-jazn-data.xml and web.xml for security to work. Am I missing something? I was under the impression that you need system-jazn-data.xml for all the good stuff.
Please direct me to the section of the doc where this is explained.

ADF Security requires jazn-data.xml or OID. If you do container managed security where authentication and authorizationis handled by the container then this can be from database tables using custo JAAS LoginModules.

Recent iMac Convert - Questions about Trash and Applications Icon on Dock

Any advice would be appreciated. 2 issues:
1. I transfered my windows files to my iMac today and having been cleaning up the various folders. I have deleted quite a few files and have opened and emptied the trash icon many times. From about 1 hour ago, the trash icon will no longer open when I single left click it, double left click it or right click it and select "Open". I can right click and select "Empty", but now I can not review what I am about to delete just in case I have accidently moved a file to the trash that I should not have.
2. On the right side of my dock I only have icons for Documents and the Trash. I thought I was supposed to also have an icon for Applications. How can I put Applications in its proper spot on the dock. I tried dragging the applications icon from Finder to the space on the dock between the documents icon and the trash icon, but it will not allow me to do so.
Any ideas?

Same way. Navigate to /Home/ folder then drag the Documents folder to the right side of the Dock.

You may also try the following:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now shutdown the computer for a couple of minutes and then restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger, and 4.1 for Leopard) and/or TechTool Pro (4.6.1 for Leopard) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

Hi Vijay,
You cannot modify Web Dynpro application from backend. You need to setup NWDI for modifying Web dynpro applciation for ESS/MSS. Please refer to this NWDI Cookbook for XSS.pdf in SAP Notes 872892.

but i can not understand how i should use this example method for my own requirement.
so let me explain what i need to do :
I have a javascript based menu in my web application.
one its item is that a user click on it and he /she can see his/her transactions.
so it is a javascript menu and not a command button or command link.
and i can not use any java code when user select that item (maybe it is possible to use java code but i do not now how i can do it).
when user select transactions item , application will open /faces/transactions.jsp .
now in transactions.jap i have a table that i should user transactions to him . but i do not know how to filter the view object when this page is going to be opened.
i searched and asked and i found that i should use bind variable and.... .
now i declared a bind variable for userID in transaction view but i do not know how i can set value of this variable .
what i thought is :
1-set the variable in java code of viewObject , for example in its constructor .
2-write some scriptlet in transactions.jsp to set value of that variable.
3-maybe jdev has some drag drop / wizard stuff to bind that variable in query to the variable in managed bean.
as this view is allways filtered with that userID for each session i think if i could bind it to userID property of managed bean my problem will be solved.
which of the above way is correct way to do ?

I'm trying to organize my contact list. I have an All contacts, and separate for my husbands phone and mine. I also have a Christmas list and I'd like to keep The XYZ Family as the name for that but not in my other contact lists. Is that possible??

Any contacts you add to any group you create will also exist in All Contacts. So, if you name a group XYZ Family, the individual contacts for the members of that group will still exist in All Contacts.
Also, individual contacts can be placed in multiple groups. For example, Joe XYZ's card can exist in your contacts and your husband's contacts and in the XYZ Family group.

files that generated with NB.are important or optional.are auto generated or may I edit.
2.can I distribute my web application in non text format.How?
3.if I want to add some files to my application that its running in tomcat.how can i do that with out rebuild all.

ADF/JClient problem

I have a problem using bc4j. I have an ADF/JClient application that shows a Master/Detail Log from a database to the user.
But the connection to the database should by dynamic: With a combo box I select the database to connect to
and than I want to see the Master/Detail Log.
Actually, the problem is that the Master/Detail tables (normal JTables with BC4J bindings) do not refresh their views,
so I ever see the same Matser/Detail Log.
The connection to the database is established using my own classes MyConnectionStrategy (derived from DefaultConnectionStrategy)
and MyEnvInfoProvider (derived from DefaultEnvInfoProvider).
Bootstrap code look like this:

Performance Issues due to Loading of ADF/JClient View Objects

Hi,
I developed a two-tier ADF/JClient application.
When the ADF/JClient application opens for the first time, there's a big delay
However opening it subsequently, takes less than half of the time to open the screen.
I think it might the xml files of different view objects which the framework loads for the first time, and thus takes a lot of time. And after that, the time to open the application reduces.
We have around 200 view objects in our application. Can this be the reason?
If yes, then can we load the view objects before ahead, or can we just load them at the very time they are requested ?
