Question about battery notification.
Am I mistaken, or is there suppose to be a percentage number next to the battery icon on the upper right-hand corner? Is it just when you plug the phone in for charging??
That's a setting you can turn on and off...by default it's off...goto

Question about the notification center (Mails and Reminders)
Hello together,
I just started using Mountain Lion and now I have some few questions about the notification center.
1. Is it possible to show all reminds in the notification center? I have a lot of reminds without an date / time and they don't appear in the notification center.
2. Is it possible to show the last five Mails in the notification center? I'm just seeing new incoming mails, but I would prefer it, if I could see the last five mails
(no matter if readed or unreaded).
Thank you very much for you help.
Ratte1988
Hallo zusammen,
Ratte1988Only reminders with dates appear in the notification center - undated ones don't. Once an email has been read, it is removed from the notification center. Apple has a feedback center where you can offer suggestions.

Question about battery maintenance and longevity
I have a question about the efficacy of the built-in battery maintenance of the Lenovo Power Manager utility; specifically how it pertains to my W520, if that makes any difference.
With my previous laptop (an HP), any time I knew it would be parked on my desk for a week or longer, I would manually discharge the battery to about 40% and remove it to run the machine on AC power only. This proved to be an excellent practice that enabled the battery to work like new for three solid years. As soon as I stopped bothering with that, the battery life started dropping like a stone.
Lenovo's power manager offers the option to maintain the battery automatically or manually override it to maintain a charge within specific range. But I am wondering: how well this will work in the long run as compared to handling it manually? And how do the two options (automatic and manual range) compare with eachother in terms of maintaining long term?
I currently use the manual setting and keep it between 40% and 45%.I would put into manual, you have more control. Automatic follows a preset rule, which may not apply in every case or battery model.

Question about OSM Notification
I have some questions about the jeopardy notification.
As of current, I know only how to set user and email server to send out the notification,
but I want to know about how to create the email message content?
I've been trying to find the answer about this but still haven't found any.
So my questions are:
- Is it possible to create/define email message content?
- In case possible: How could I do to create/define the message content?
- Any reference which could be more helpful to study about this?
It'd be pleased if you could give an example of the email & the content?
Please help.Hi,
If you refer the Concepts Guide of OSM documentation, it says
About Sending Notifications in Email
You can deliver notifications in email. The email message consists of the same information that is displayed in the Notifications window in the Task Web client. You cannot customize the message or add information to it.
So, try out an automation plugin Java Code combined with an events/jeopardy which can send email with specified content.
Thanks

Hi everyone,
I got my refurbished MBP 13" mid 2010 model two Friday's ago (July 16) from the Apple online store and I have some questions about the battery life....
Immediately after I got it, I followed all the battery calibration instructions from apple.com/batteries (and did it again after it because I was unsure if I did it properly). While it was charging, I was installing some recommended applications, one being coconutBattery. In the additional information section, it said that my MBP was 7 weeks old, has gone threw 10 battery load cycles, and had a original battery capacity of 97%. I am now at 17 loadcycles, with 94% original battery capacity.
Now to how much time I get with the battery... I have done some testing of my own, such as watching some movies (Tron and Star Trek First Contact, I'm a geek :D), basic web browsing (5 tabs open, reading blogs, watching a couple of 3 minute youtube videos) and listening to an audio book (iWoz) with a tab or two open. The best battery life I have gotten (basic web browsing) was 5 1/2 hours, with 60% LCD brightness, keyboard backlight off, and bluetooth off, with just Chrome and coconutBattery open.
Is this the average battery life for everyone else? I bought this because of its supposedly good battery life, and though I am very happy with my purchase, I just want to make sure that I have a fully working MBP.
Some other notes:
The battery meter next to the clock sometimes says that 98% is fully charged (I think it is just a glitch)
The estimated battery life is between 9-11 hours when brightness is at 30%-40%, airport and bluetooth is off, and keyboard backlight is off when I am doing text editing.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Forgot to say I have the 2.4ghz 250gb model.

My iPhone 3GS is arriving soon, Questions about battery.
Hello all. I have both the original iPhone and 3G. I purchased a 3GS and it is about to be shipped.
I have a question about getting the MOST out of my battery.
When I receive the phone, what is the best technique for getting the most out of the battery? Like what I mean is... Should I get the phone, use it all day until it dies and THEN fully charge it? Or should I charge it to 100% right when I get it?
Or does it even matter?
Thanks!Charge it to 100% out of the box. Then use it until it drains to zero, or close to it, and then recharge and you're good to go!

Question about push notifications for apps affect on battery life?
I've noticed that after installing certain "Push Notification Enabled" apps that my iPhone's battery drains very quickly even when said apps aren't running. I've read that if an app makes extensive use of push notifications that it can drain the battery, but I haven't received any notifications from said apps. Does simply having a number of push enabled apps installed drain the battery cause faster than normal battery drain?
I don't really care about the push notifications for many push enabled apps, but I do like to have it enabled for certain ones. Would disabling notifications for all but the apps I use actually save battery life? I would think that since push messages are sent from the app owners server to Apple's push servers to the phone, that disabling notifications on the phone for an app or even deleting the app itself would not prevent the actual data from being pushed to the phone. In other words does disabling notifications (or deleting the app) actually prevent the data from being pushed to the iPhone or does it simply tell the iPhone to ignore the pushed data? The former would not increase battery life while the later would.I've learned that it's not the number of apps that use push notification that drains the battery, but the number of apps that actively use it to send messages.
If push is turned on, the battery will drain slightly faster since the phone needs to maintain a constant 3G (or GSM) connection open, but no data is actually sent or received unless you receive a push notification.
In the case of push email, a push notification triggers the mail app to make an outbound IMAP4 connection. Depending on how often you receive email, this can decrease the battery life. If you receive lots of emails every few minutes, using 15 minute fetch will be more battery efficient. If you receive emails every few hours, push is more efficient.
For apps, it doesn't really matter since the apps can't initiate a network connection unless they are running. I'm not sure if app servers constantly sending push notifications when the notification for those apps is turned off drains the battery any faster or not. From what I've read when push notification are turned off for an app, Apple's push servers will tell that app's servers to not perform a push. In other words, Apple won't push app notifications to the phone for apps where notifications are disabled or the app isn't installed. -
2 questions about battery change.
Well i got my first gen. ipod shuffle last yr summer and my warrenty ends this yr....
so will it cover the battery change or not? and um...do they still change the battery for the first gen. ipod shuffle since the second gen. ipod shuffle is already out there. ya so those are my two questionsThe battery is covered under warranty.
His 2nd question was leaning in the direction of "now
that there is a 2G iPod Shuffle, do they still fix
the 1G iPod Shuffle?"
Going by a true definition, as you seem to want to
do, we should simply tell everyone, "When you send in
your iPod under warranty, you will NOT get it back.
Apple will probably just give it to someone else.
Sorry."
NOOooo... Apple will REPLACE your Shuffle with another one
AND will NOT warrant the replacement beyond the length of the ORIGINAL's warranty or 90 days whichever is longer.
That's all folks... -
Question about battery life on brand new mbp
I have had my mbp 11 days now, and the battery life seems very short.
I have tiger woods 08 installed
20 minutes of playing and the battery life is down from 100% to 20%.
This seems very short, its not only playing games, the battery life seems to go down very fast when browsing the internet etc.
Cycle count is 8.
Can anyone tell me, is this what i should expect? In particular read the article on calibrating the battery. If you haven't done this, then I suggest you try it first. If problems persist then followup with a call to AppleCare or your local Apple retailer.

Question about battery replacement please
I have a B575 laptop. I'm looking to replace the battery. The question I have, the battery that came with the computer is rated at 10.8v. The replacements I've seen are rated at 11.1v. Will the voltage difference be harmful to my computer or shorten the life of the new battery, or is it a marketing gimmick where all batteries have an actual rating that varies slightly.
Please advise ASAP.
Thanks.hi JustMeee,
Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
In replacing the battery, it is ideal that you get a:
- battery with the same rated voltage (this is the specific voltage measurement at which the laptop can start functioning)
- battery with a lenovo FRU on it (this is to prevent any "unauthorized battery" error)
From this item,
There are two Voltage definitions: rated Voltage and maximum Voltage. The rated Voltage is the number of Volts required by the appliance in which the appliance is used. The maximum Voltage is the number of Volts provided by the battery when fully charged.
It's possible that the 11.1v replacement batteries that you saw is the maxmum voltage - which is ok and will not harm the battery nor the system but if this is the rated voltage, I recommend you stay away as it may do the opposite.

Question about push notification
I am currenty on a cap plan with limited amounts of Internet. How much internet approx does push notification use? So that at least I have an idea of how much I can use mobile me.
ThanksMathanM wrote:

It depends on how much email you get, the size of messages, and how often you update contacts and calendar. In general push will use less data than fetch, because fetch establishes a connection every 15 minutes (or whatever you have it set to). Push only establishes a connection when there is an update to be synced. Unless you regularly get large attachments your email usage will be pretty small, and correspond to the total size of the emails you send and receive. Web browsing and use of data-intensive applications (like Google Maps) will be the vast majority of your data usage. -

Hello,
currently I'm waiting for the 2013 line and then I will decide what will I go with, but for sure some retina. Every laptop has "7 hours" on battery, I'm wondering if that's on 100% brightness while searching web or just doing nothing? How long is it on lowest or while using the notebook? Inform me with anything, thanks .Upto 7 hours of wireless web.
Battery runtime depends on the cpu/gpu activity, brightness level, etc.

Question about full cycle charges and battery life
So I've had the new iPad since day 1 and absolutely love it, though recently I've noticed that my battery life doesn't seem to hold up as well as it has in the past. I've done three full cycle charges since getting it however during my latest one I accidently brought along my iPod wall charger and not the one that comes with the iPad. My iPad was fully discharged and I plugged it in assuming that in the 7 hour window I had that it would be fully charged within 5 hours, but this was not the case due to me having the wrong charger. After about 7 hrs of charging it was only at around 60-70% so I had to unplug it, bring it home, then plug it in once more using the correct charger. Probably a fairly obvious question but does this not count as a full cycle charge because I unplugged it? Should I perform another full cycle charge even though this most recent one was not even a week ago. I know you're supposed to completely discharge your battery as few times as possible so it worries me having to do it again so soon.
About battery life, I've noticed lately that my iPad battery seems to be depleting quicker than normal, and was hoping that perhaps this was caused by being overdue for a full-cycle charge which I may have flubbed as seen above. I'm aware of a majority of the little tips and tricks to prolong battery life however I'm not so knowledgeable on the "do's and don'ts" of charging the actual iPad so any information on that would be helpful. I should also note that unfortunately I accidently left by iPad in a hot car for a little over an hour and was tremendously devastated knowing what this can do to the battery, so could this be the main cause for a seemingly weaker battery?
Thanks for any feedback! The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. Question about using new battery in old Powerbook
I have a pre-intel Powerbook G4, and the battery is pretty much toast (lasts about 15 minutes now). I have ordered a new battery for it, and I have this question about using it:
Am I smarter to keep the new strong battery out of the PB most days (as I usually work with it plugged in at home) and just pop it in when I know I will be out surfing on batteries? Or is it just as good living in my laptop 24/7 and only occasionally being called upon to do its job?
Current bad Battery Information below:
Battery Installed: Yes
First low level warning: No
Full Charge Capacity (mAh): 1144
Remaining Capacity (mAh): 1115
Amperage (mA): 0
Voltage (mV): 12387
Cycle Count: 281
thanks folks, ShereenHi, Shereen. Every Powerbook battery wants to be used — drained and then recharged — at least every couple of weeks. If you've always used your Powerbook on AC power nearly all the time, and not followed that pattern of discharging and recharging the battery every week or two, it's possible that your use habits have shortened the lifespan and prematurely diminished the capacity of your old battery. Of course it's also possible that your battery is merely old, as a battery's capacity also diminishes with age regardless of how it's used. You didn't say how old the battery is in years, so this may or may not be an issue. I mention it only because it can be an issue.
For general information on handling a battery for the longest possible lifespan, see this article. My advice on the basis of that article and long experience reading these forums is that it would be OK to do as you propose, but I doubt that you'd derive any significant benefit from it. You would still want to be sure of putting the new battery through a charge/discharge cycle every week or two, even if you didn't have a reason to use the Powerbook away from home or your desk, because sitting unused outside the computer is just as bad for a battery as sitting unused inside it. And you should never remove the battery from your computer when it's completely or almost completely discharged and let it sit that way any longer than a day or two.
