Question about material reservation

Here is my scenario:
Initially there are 100 kg stock for material A,then I created reservation of material A for 10kg with movement type 201, then in md04 ,there is a row with reservation number 20276 for 10kg,then I use migo to good receive for it 2kg,now current stock is 98 kg which is correct, then I changed reservation from 10 kg to 8kg, then I looked it in md04 again, now reservation quantity changed to 6 kg,I am wondering why it isn't 8 kg instead, because I had issued 2 kg before? Even that When I go to mb23, requirement quantity is 8 kg and qantity withdrawn is 2kg, can anyone explain that?

Hi,
What you written is absolutely correct.
first you created reservation for 10kg that time the requirement qty was 10kg.
then you changed it to 8kg so it will show 8kg as requirement even if you withdrawn all 8kg.
because there is 3 measurements in your reservation list details:
1.Requirement Qnty  2.Difference Qnty  3.Removed Qnty
In your case, after changed reservation, Requirement Qty - 8kg
Difference Qty - 6kg
Removed Qty - 2kg

  • Subtitling (question about archived material)

OK, I've looked through the archived questions about how to subtitle...and I just want to make sure I do this right. If I do subtitles in DVDSP, do I write them up in a text file first and then import them, or just type them in manually?
If I do subtitles in FCP I just use something like Title3D and type them in manually...creating a whole buncha overlay (title) clips, right?
Forgive the redundency, I know how subtitles are supposed to look, just trying to find the best (and least time consuming) way to produce them.
FYI...the subtitles will be of a person from Spain speaking English (it's kinda hard to understand him since he talks fast and has a heavy Spanish accent).
    Thanks, all, in advance.

subtitling (question about archived material)< </div>
So you are trying put subtitles on your archived material?
If you use the subtitle track in DVDSP, the text will be switchable by the user. (This is made more complicated by several factors like your desire to make the subtitles permanent or uncontrollable by the user. These are options you can control by programming the DVDSP project. Not difficult but very confusing.)
If you use a text tool in FCP, the titles will be permanently burned into the video image.
If you use some fo the more sophisticated (read: Expensive) subtitling tools for FCP, you can export a caption-compliant file that can be printed to videotape or mastered to DVD. If you own one of these products, you are at the complete mercy of their manual's writer.

  • Material Reservations and PO

    Hello,
my question is at which stage of the network the material (components) reservations or Purchase orders, automatically trigger.
when the project (with networks and materials) is created or released.
because I have issue like the project is in TECO and for some reason we are planning to undo the TECO. if I undo the status, will it again creates the PO or reservation.
Is there any document, which explains in detail about the configuration of PS -MM integration.
Is there any concept like labor reservation just like material reservation. I am not sure is question itself true or not.
    Thank You

    Hi Gokul,
My answer is correct considering the following in my perception and not in SAP functionality view.
    <<<<
At what status of the WBS / network will this Material reservations or PO's get triggered. Is it at Created or Released.
    >>>>
When WBS elements are in created status means project has not yet received the approval to go ahead from the project controller or whoever may be in the business.
If some reasons, Management cancel the project or Customer cancel the project and its very easy to set the DLFL flag on project. But what will happen to the committed costs. Do the Management ready to take up unwanted burden and raise unwanted inventories in warehouse. Risk Mitigation is an alternate option but try to avoid inviting the risks which will save time and money.
There are so many things to consider just not going by the SAP functionality. This is what I feel and you may not accept my statement but at the same time I respect your views and ideas.

  • Few questions about Earthing?

    Hi all,
I have some basic questions about earthing. Please anyone explain them and provide any reference material also.
Q1. In Industries there are normally two types of earth, one is "Instrument Earth" and other is "Protective Earth". what is the difference between these two?
Q2 what is the difference between AC and DC earthing?
    Any help will be appreciated.

    To Q1:
Both are connected at one point , however the PE can (and will) carry more noise due to currents (up to 30mA or even 300mA depending one the installed RCD, in some cases even higher ) from line filters in switched power converters , C&L coupling to the line power etc..
While the PE is build (and tested! ) for low resistance  the impedance (here inductivity) can be quite high, so RF content is not well grounded.
So a instrument earth as an separated path is build up, but not with the intend to carry lot of current, just to establish a clean ground potential.
To Q2:  A capacitor to ground will be low impedance for high frequency (Z=1/(j*2*pi*f*C)) but not for DC . On the other hand an inductivity is a good conductor for DC , but not for AC (Z=j*2*pi*f*L).
Depending on the task you have, you can decide what part you tide to ground.

  • One question about Pricing and Conditions puzzle me for a long time!

One question about Pricing and Conditions puzzle me for a long time.I take one example to explain my question:
1-First,my sale order use pricing procedure RVAA01.
2-Next,the pricing procedure RVAA01 have some condition type, such as EK01(Actual Costs),PR00(Price)....,and so on.
3-Next,the condition type PR00 define the Access Sequences PR00 as it's Access Sequences.
4-Next,the Access Sequences PR00 have some Condition tables, such as:
         table 118 : "Empties" Prices (Material-Dependent)
         table 5 : Customer/Material
         table 6 : Price List Type/Currency/Material
         table 4 : Material
5-Next,I need to maintain Condition tables's Records.Such as the table 5(Customer/Material).I guess the sap would supply one screen for me to input the data of table 5.At this screen, the sap would ask me to select one table, such as table 5.When I select the table 5,the sap would go to the screen to let me input the data of table 5.But when I use the T-CODE VK31 or VK32 to maintain Condition tables's Record,I found it's total different from my guess:
A-First,I can not found one place for me to open the table, such as table 5,to let me input the data?
B-Second,For example, when I select the VK31->Discounts/Surcharges->By Customer/Material,the sap show the grid view at the right side.At the each line of the grid view, you need to select the Condition Type at the first field. And this make me confused very much. Why the sap need me to select one Condition Type but not the Condition table? To the normal logic,it ought not to select Condition table but not the Condition Type!
Dear all,I'm a new one in sd.May be this is a very stupid question. But it did puzzle me for a long time.If any one can  explain this question in detail and let me understand the concept,I will appreciate him/her very much.Thank you.

    Hi,
You said that you are using the T.codes VK31 or VK32.
These transaction codes are used to enter condition records for standard condition types. As you can see a grid left side having all the standard condition types like price, discounts, taxes, frieghts.
Pl check using T.code VK11 OR VK12 (change mode)
Here you can enter the required condition type, in the intial screen. (like PR00, MWST, K004, K005 .....etc)
After giving the condition type, press enter or click on Combinations icon on top of the screen. Then you can see all the condition tables which you maintained for that condition type. Like as you said table 118, table 5, table 6 and table 4.
You can select any table and press enter, then you can go into the screen in which you have all the field cataglogues you maintained for that table. For example you selected combination of Customer/Material (table 5) then after you press enter then you can see customer field on top, and material fields.
You can give all the required values and save the conditon record.
    Hope this is clear.
    REWARD IF HELPFUL.

    praveen

  • Cant see Object Services Toolbox in MB23 Material Reservation transaction

    Hi all,
The Generic Object Services Toolbox is not available in SAP MM transaction MB23 used for accessing Material Reservations. SAP version is 4.7/620.
As its a standard SAP transaction referring to standard business object type BUS2093, so I was expecting that the Object Services will be enabled for this.
Kindly help as to how I can configure the display of Object Services toolbox in this transaction to link attachments. (If its regarding changing some code like including cl_gos_manager or SWU_OBJECT_PUBLISH, then kindly explain in detail.

  • Question about size of ints in Xcode

Hello. I have a a few quick questions about declaring and defining variables and about their size and so forth. The book I'm reading at the moment, "Learn C on the Mac", says the following in reference to the difference between declaring and defining a variable:
A variable declaration is any statement that specifies a variables name and type. The line *int myInt;* certainly does that. A variable definition is a declaration that causes memory to be allocated for the variable. Since the previous statement does cause memory to be allocated for myInt, it does qualify as a definition.
I always thought a definition of a variable was a statement that assigned a value to a variable. If a basic declaration like "int myInt;" does allocate memory for the variable and therefore is a definition, can anyone give me an example of a declaration that does not allocate memory for the variable and therefore is not a definition?
The book goes on, a page or so late, to say this:
Since myInt was declared to be of type int, and since Xcode is currently set to use 4-byte ints, 4 bytes of memory were reserved for myInt. Since we haven't placed a value in those 4 bytes yet, they could contain any value at all. Some compilers place a value of 0 in a newly allocated variable, but others do not. The key is not to depend on a variable being preset to some specific value. If you want a variable to contain a specific value, assign the value to the variable yourself.
First, I know that an int can be different sizes (either 4 bytes or 8 bytes, I think), but what does this depend on? I thought it depended on the compiler, but the above quote makes it sound like it depends on the IDE, Xcode. Which is it?
Second, it said that Xcode is currently set to use 4-byte ints. Does this mean that there is a setting that the user can change to make ints a different size (like 8 bytes), or does it mean that the creators of Xcode currently have it set to use 4-byte ints?
Third, for the part about some compilers giving a newly allocated variable a value of 0, does this apply to Xcode or any of its compilers? I assume not, but I wanted to check.
Thanks for all the help, and have a great weekend!

I always like to think of a "declaration" to be something that makes no changes to the actual code, but just provides visibility so that compilation and/or linking will succeed. The "definition" allocates space.
You can declare a function to establish it in the namespace for the compiler to find but the linker needs an actual definition somewhere to link against. With a variable, you could also declare a variable as "extern int myvar;". The actual definition "int myvar;" would be somewhere else.
According to that book, both "extern int myvar;" and "int myvar;" are declarations, but only the latter is a definition. That is a valid way to look at it. Both statements 'delcare' something to the compiler, but on the second one 'define's some actual data.
First, I know that an int can be different sizes (either 4 bytes or 8 bytes, I think), but what does this depend on? I thought it depended on the compiler, but the above quote makes it sound like it depends on the IDE, Xcode. Which is it?
An "int" is supposed to be a processor's "native" size and the most efficient data type to use. A compiler may or may not be able to change that, depending on the target and the compiler. If a compiler supports that option and Xcode supports that compiler and that option, then Xcode can control it, via the compiler.
Second, it said that Xcode is currently set to use 4-byte ints. Does this mean that there is a setting that the user can change to make ints a different size (like 8 bytes), or does it mean that the creators of Xcode currently have it set to use 4-byte ints?
I think that "setting" is just not specifying any option to explicitly set the size. You can use "-m32" or "-m64" to control this, but I wouldn't recommend it. Let Xcode handle those low-level details.
Third, for the part about some compilers giving a newly allocated variable a value of 0, does this apply to Xcode or any of its compilers? I assume not, but I wanted to check.
I don't know for sure. Why would you ask? Are you thinking of including 45 lines of macro declarations 3 levels deep to initialize values based on whether or not a particular compiler/target supports automatic initialization? Xcode current supports GCC 3.3, GCC 4.0, GCC 4.2, LLVM GCC, CLang, and Intel's compiler for building PPC, i386, and x86_64 code in both debug and release, with a large number of optimization options. It doesn't matter what compiler you use or what it's behavior is - initialize your variables in C.

  • Question about using TVARV in an ABAP program

Hello gurus, Im sorry about the silly question.
I have a question about using TVARV in an ABAP program.
A program is presenting a problem and I think that in this code:
    SELECT SIGN OPTI LOW HIGH
      FROM TVARV
      INTO TABLE R_1_163431035_VELOCIDADE
      WHERE  NAME = '1_163431035_VELOCIDADE'
      AND    TYPE = 'S'.
      IF ZMM001-VELOCIDADE_B   IN R_1_163431035_VELOCIDADE AND
          ZOPERADORAS-OPERADORA = 'ABCD' AND
          ZMM001-MATERIAL       IN R_1_163431035_PRODUTO.
      ELSE.
      ENDIF.
What happens is that the value "ZMM001-SPEED" B not exist in "R1_163431035_VELOCIDADE" but the program executes commands under the IF and not under the ELSE, as I imagine it would work. Is this correct ?
I am new to ABAP programming, but I have a lot of XP in other programming languages and this makes no sense to me.
Anyone know where I can find some documentation of the use of "TVARV" in ABAP programs?
I search the Internet if other programmers use TVARV this way, but found nothing, which leads me to think that was a quick and dirty solution that used here.
If this is a bad way to program, what would be the best way?
    Regards
    Ronaldo.

    Hi Ronaldo,
But in this case, the range is not empty, there are 17 records, in this way.:
For the column "SING" all values are "E"
It means that the result is false if ZMM001-VELOCIDADE_B has the same value as one of the 17 records (E = exclude).
For instance, if it has value 'C' and one of 17 records matches C, then the result is false.
The "IF" with "IN" using "TVARV" as used in the program of the post above has the same behavior of a selection screen?
Yes, the same behavior as the selection criterion to be exact. You can press the help key in the complex selection dialog for more info.
I know it's a silly and very basic question, but other language that I used, only the SQL has the "IN" operator, but I think they work in different ways, so I would like to understand how it works in ABAP.
Not silly ;-). Yes they work differently.

  • Questions about  Invoice against PO

    Dear all,
I have a question about Invoice against PO.
    The background is:
I have a PO with 1 line items, when I create an invoice via the transaction MIRO, I have to separate the account assignment to different cost object. (e.g. I have separate to three cost objects: Cost Centre A, Cost Centre B and Cost Centre C)
After the invoice is created, I find that in the Purchase Order History tab page, it shows two lines with same invoice number.  (the first line have the amount of the first account assignment, the second line is the sum amount of the remain account assignments)
My question is how to group all account assignment into one lines in the Purchase Order History?
    Many thanks
    Sunny

    For this,
You need to divide the account assignment in PO itself.
Po should contain 3 cost centres and corresponding GL.
For such PO if you make GR, automatically system will allocate material to respective cost elements.

  • Funds reservation with material reservation

    Hello all,
The matter I need help with is funds reservation with material reservation, as the title says.
I have done some research about this and although [this thread|Material Reservation; and [this note|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=91036] say it is not possible, [this SAP Library page|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/17/aea93769928b7fe10000009b38f8cf/content.htm] and [this enhancement package overview|http://www.id.uzh.ch/dl/sw/sap/upgrade/EHP3_Overview.pdf] (p. 194) state explicitly that it is possible. I am going to be optimistic and assume the latter are valid, what still lacks however is information about where this configuration is to be made and how.
How can I enable the creation of commitments upon material reservation?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
There is no automatic linkage/iteractions between the two, at least not up to release 6.02 (for more recent packages I'm not sure).

  • URGENT: Question about User_Exit

    Hello All,
I have a question about user_exit. Does it share the same transaction context as the calling form??
If it does, how to implement the same thing in Java.
Any help or material available somewhere?
    TIA
    Naveen

    Naveen
Actually what we are doing is converting Oracle Forms code into java code and i cannot open and change the code that is being called by the User_Exit built-in.
So i want to know is how i can still keep the same functionality, without changing the Pro*C code into java, or some other native code.Since what you have in hand is an user exit I dont think you can use it straight away from Java Forms unless you do not have any Form specific things.
In User exits we can do thigns like getting and putting values from/to oracle forms items and there are also provision to pass error and other related information between the forms and user exits.
this is actually accomplished by having some internal API's ( these are invoked by the user_exit builtin in Forms) in Oracle Forms. And this is predefined and there is nothing much to know how this functionality works. And Oracle itself does not support User exits( if there is any interaction with Form) in Oracle Web Forms. And user exit has many Oracle specific libraries linked to it during compilation.
Knowing this you should first know whether your user exit is Oracle Forms Dependent. If it is I think you dont have much options than rewriting your user exit.
On the other hand if it does not , then I think you can easily get rid of the error and other handling information( if present in the user exit )and recompile it as a standalone Pro*C executable and the call it natively since it is noting but a C program in the compiled state.
OK but regarding the connection you have to go back to Java and ask whether there is way to pass a conection context to a native C program( dont mention Proc or Oracle Forms here)
So start finding whether your exit is Oracle Forms dependent. If not you can take it easy except for the connection thing which I am not . But if it is dependent then I think u have to start rewriting.
    Good Luck

  • Questions about Feature Licenses for 1800, 2800, 3800, 2900, 3900 series ISRs

    Hey all,
I have a question about feature licensing for Cisco ISR 1800, 2800, 3800, 2900 series. I know there are differences between all of the series. My main question which applies for all the Cisco ISR series is this:
"If I want to upgrade the IOS to a newer version and upgrade from the basic feature set, do I need to get a license from Cisco? "
    If yes:
And if so, how do I go about purchasing a license? Is a support contract needed?
Again, I need to know for each Cisco ISR series. I'd appreciate any help on this.
    Thanks,
    John

You probably want to reach your SE/AM about this so they can explain you exactly how this works, maybe some sales material, or you can also reach pre-sales.

  • Convert planned orders into material reservation

    Hi All,
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to convert through a standard SAP Program, planned orders (MRP) into a material reservation? Like MD15 converts into Purchase requisitions!
    Thanks in advance,
    MG

    Hi,
    I don't think.
    - Planned order is procurement proposal. It increases available quatity - you can check it in MD04.
    - Reservation is a requirement that reduces your stock (available quantity) - check it in MD04.
    E.g.
    header material: materialA
    children part: materialB
If you have PrdOrd for materialA, at the same time you have a(n order) reservation for materialB. PrdOrd of materialA means that your stock increases (you produce materialA), whilst (order) resrvation of materialB means its stock will decrease because you consume it for PrdOrd.
So, you can see that the nature of PldOrd & reservation is totally different - that's why I think there's no point in speaking about of conversion of a PldOrd into reservation.

  • Question about elearning - OKP SAP Commercial Project Management

    Hi Gurus,
i have a question about an e learning course which SAP offers-
    Course Name- OCPM10-
OCPM10 - OKP SAP Commercial Project Management 1.0 | SAP Training and Certification Shop
It's an e learning course for 20 hours, below are my questions-
Since its an e-learning course, is it to be completed in a specified time (within 2-3 days) or we can have access to it throughout the year but duration of course is 20 hrs
What kind of documentation is provided to me as part of this course.

    1. C_TPLM22_05 - SAP Certified Solution Consultant PLM - Project Management with SAP ERP 2005
It includes SAP PLM 235 course material along with PLM 200, 210 220, 230,
    2. C_TPLM22_60 - SAP Certified Application Associate - Project Management with SAP ERP 6.0
It is not including the PLM 235 course.
This is the basic difference between  it.  IN Certification there are  6 -7 areas , in each of them you have to score more than 70 % , there many few multiple answer questions as well. Finally over score will come it should be higher than 70 %.  So, I ideally weight all the topics equally,
    With Regards
