Question about refreshing the page with frames...
hi, my website uses three frames... (the standard main one, top and left frame)
but when i go to different pages on the site and press the refresh button it goes back to the homepage but i want it to just refresh the page in the 'main' frame.
i understand why its going back to the homepage... coz when i press refresh its refreshing the index.jsp page and thats where the frames are, so the location for the 'main' frame page is the homepage.
is there any way around this?
i just want it to refresh whatever page is in the 'main' frame.
You can do it, but it means storing the currently viewed page in the user's session, and maintaining those sessions at all cost.
Here is a brief example of how it might be done:

An alternative which may be easier (depending on what you are doing) would be to create one frame, with a <jsp:include ...> for the stuff you want to show at the top, and another one for the stuff you want to show on the left. More like this:

APEX is using the PL/SQL Web Toolkit extensively. I don’t really know the differences between every version, and I don’t think it’s matter. In some cases, a new version can fix some bugs (like in the rendering process), in others, can add new features (like caching) and in general, making the code better (optimizing etc.). So, I can’t really give you a list of things you are missing, but I can assure you that not using the latest version can damage/degrade the quality of your system.
There is another problem with not meeting the pre-required installation terms, because usually people will assume you are. It can make debugging really hard. In your case, you were lucky that Scott asked you right away about the OWA version. Unfortunately, Scott is unique that way. Other (like you and me) can spent a lot of time trying to figure out why something is not working as expected, without knowing (remembering) that the only reason is a faulty infrastructure.
Is there a problem to install the latest version of the PL/SQL Web Toolkit? As far as APEX concern, it will not harm your 1.6 instance, and should not damage any other database functionality, so why not upgrade?

Hi I have a question about shooting in Raw with my Canon EOS 6d.
I'm in the process of learning photography and my goal was to start shooting in raw.
I have Photoshop CS5. When I tried to edit my images in raw I received an error message stating, "The photoshop camera raw plug-in did not recognize the format. If these files are from a camera, you may need to update your camera raw plug in."
In researching the issue I read that to edit in raw you need a camera model requirement of at least 7.3 which only works with CS6. My version of CS5 is 6.0.0.205. Being new to all this I see that my options are to upgrade to CS6 or convert by using DNG converter and paying a monthly fee. Two things I know nothing about and don't know which is would be more beneficial.
I'd appreciate any advise on which route to go and how upgrade and what it may cost. THANKS in advance!

That is correct. Your camera was first supported by Camera Raw 7.3. Camera Raw 7.3 will not work with CS5. You need CS6 or CC.

It all depends on your preferred workflow and your budget.
Using the DNG converter is free. There is no monthly fee. You use the converter to convert all Raw files from the EOS 6D to DNGs then edit the DNGs in CS5. That's an extra step every time - every photo. Some people don't like the extra step. Others don't mind.

When searching in goole, If I click on a link and want to go back a page firefox does not load the previous google search without refreshing the page. Because I use google frequently this is very annoying. Firefox has also been freezing and crashing most frequently of any of the other browsers that I have been driven to use. I'm not sure why I should keep it on my computer at this point.
Regarding the Google results page blanking out when you go back, this occurs when using a combination of three settings, which may be fairly common:
* Zoom level higher than two steps (120%; the newest versions of Windows apparently default to 125%, which Firefox detects and adopts)
* Google search set to instant prediction results (default on Google search, but can be disabled in Search settings, see [https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/186610 Google Instant Search Help])
* Opening results in the same tab, then using the Back button to return to the results page (default on Google search, but can be changed in Search settings to open results in a new window/tab, see [https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/425 Google Search Help])
Firefox's cache feature attempts to maximize speed for forward and back actions by storing the last rendering of the page. Something about the instant prediction results ''with zoom'' is causing Firefox to briefly display the results and then they blank out and you have to reload the page to get them back. The mystery is why this only occurs (so far as I have heard) on Google? Is one of Google's scripts blanking out the page? Does Google care that it's messing up Firefox users?
For now, if you do not want to or cannot change any one of the three factors needed to experience this problem, you can disable the storage of the last rendering of the page. Then Firefox will skip the shortcut and lay it out fresh, which is known to work. As noted in earlier posts, you make this change using the about:config preferences editor.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''sess''' and pause while the list is filtered.
(3) Double-click the '''browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewers''' preference and change it to 0 (that's a zero).

What happens if you exit Firefox and startup in your old profile and install GM 1.14 beta? Does that rescue your original setup? -
Displaying the results without refreshing the page

I need to show the items added to the basket within a list box which is on the top frame without refreshing the page.the page is a jsp page.Could you please give me idea how this could be done.
The problem is, there are 2 frames, one above and one below.In the below frame I select a product and add to the basket, at the same time I need to show these items in above frame within the list box, the above frame should not refresh, it should show the items as soon as the items are added.
ThanksThe cart bean is on the server? Then you will have to send a request to the server to get it added. How do you do that? You post a form. How do you post a form without submitting a page? You don't.
You need to make a design decision. If you want all of your logic on the server, you will have to be content with client-side refreshes. If client-side refreshes and their inherent delays are not acceptable, you will have to learn to be savvy with JavaScript but realize that anything you do on the form is still only on the form until you submit it. -

portlets listens to another, and when called sets a property in a session
property set. This property is used in a rule so that depending on this rule
some portlets are only shown (via entitlements) for some values of the
property. This works fine except for the fact that when pressing the link
that calls the action in the listening portlet the entire page is not
refreshed, so the portlets are only replaced whith the next press on a link
or a page refresh. Now the question is: How do I call an action that
forwards to a new jsp and at the same time refreshed all the page.

a Forward object , which then calls another action which goes to the jsp.
This works but is somewhat roundabout, and also I seem to have to use the
desktop url, which ruins developing in .portal mode (not a big deal since
entitlements doesn't work there either). However I would like to build my
url dynamically, but I have not been able to find a way to get the current
desktop pragrammatically. I can see on this list that others have asked
about getting the desktop url from a pageflow but without reply, so I had
hoped there would be another way of refreshing the page.

must force those entitlements to be reevaluated by (restarting therequest)
redirecting the user back to the portal. Otherwise, only the resourceswhose

You may want to read about the Partial Page Refresh (PPR) capabilities in ADF Faces. You can make the selectInputDate's partialSubmit property "true" and then cause the specific components you wish refreshed have their partialTriggers property set to the ID of the selectInputDate.

How to make an anchor link also refresh the page?
I'm trying some new things with some widgets (compositions) and I'd like to make certain anchor links also refresh my page (on the mobile version of my website). I tried putting the entire link in instead of just selecting my anchor (.com/mypage#myanchor) but that only works the first time (maybe because the user already is on .com/mypage#myanchor ?)
A bit of Googling found me a way to do this:

Thanks in advance!Im experimenting with some different versions of a mobile version of my website. In this one I'm trying to put all content (everything except the header and footer) in a composition slideshow. I made the triggers invisible and placed them over my menu buttons in the header, so that the content scrolls horizontally. I like this because people only need to load 1 page (my mobile version only has about 6 pages) and they can also swipe between content, like my product pages.
This all worked out fine, but now every "page" is the same length (because in reality its just one page with a slideshow on it). So now I had to add content to some pages (like home and about us) to kinda fill all space (the pages with my products on it have alot more content). I decided to put pages together, like put "about us" on the same page as "home". I made an anchor and linked to that anchor with my "about us" menu button. But, as "about us" is on slide 1 with home, the slideshow must also reset when people click it (otherwise you would only scroll down on the wrong slide). If I make my website refresh the slideshow resets (it would also work if i open the link in a new window, but that'd be very annoying).

When opening Power BI Sites with internet explorer, in certain security configurations you may run into the above error. While we are looking into resolving this, please see the following workaround:
From the Tools menu, select internet options.
On the security tab uncheck the "Enable Protected Mode" checkbox form the relevant Zone (Intranet/Internet)
Remove all entries to *.powerbi.com from trusted sites or/and local intranet sites
On the advanced tab, uncheck the "Enable enhanced protected mode" (if you made a change here it will require a restart of the machine)
Restart and try again (if not changes done in the last step, just restart the browser)Hi

This is a small example i wrote to show you how you can pass javascript varables to JSP variables. If you don't want the refresh to be seen by the user just include this code in a hidden frame on a page and instead of refreshing the entire page, refresh the hidden frame.
i have to say, i didn't test the code so i don't guarantee it's flawless.

How do I get my menu bar at the top of the page with no gaps?
How do I get my menu bar at the top of the page with no gaps? Whenever I move it there is a huge gap at the top of the page which I cant seem to get rid of, i posted about this before but none of the suggestions seemed to work for me. i'm not very good with css so im not really sure where to find the problem. There are generally gaps everywhere which looks at absolute mess, no clue how they got there and why, there is a huge gap underneath my menu bar too which wasnt there before. how do i get rid of this too? its probably some padding a or margin but no clue where.
