Question about the Timer Objects

According to the API docs, the method Schedule for a Timer object takes the following constructor:
schedule
public void schedule(TimerTask task,
Date time)
Schedules the specified task for execution at the specified time. If the time is in the past, the task is scheduled for immediate execution.
Parameters:
task - task to be scheduled.
time - time at which task is to be executed.
Source: [link]http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/util/TimerTask.html[link]
However, I am getting the following error:
The method Schedule(TimerTask, Date) is undefined for the type Timer.
Any idea why I would be getting this message?

However, I am getting the following error:
The method Schedule(TimerTask, Date) is undefined for
the type Timer.
Any idea why I would be getting this message?Yeah. Could be 2 things:
1. It's "schedule" not "Schedule" (case matters)
2. You're using java.sql.Data instead of java.util.Date.

  • Question about the Time Capsule as an external hard drive...

    i know this might be a kind of dumb question, but does the time capsule also work as an external hard drive where i would be able to just drag and save whichever files i want...or does it only save files through backing up in time machine??? thank you in advance

    You don't need to consider FAT32 formatting for PC access.
    The closet thing to a "format" of the TC disk is via "erase" command in the Airport Utility. There's no consideration of truly formatting or in what format the disk would be laid out. For the USB attached drive the same applies when it is attached to the TC, but of course it can be formatted when directly attached to a PC or Mac.
    It is, in fact, often recommended that a USB attached drive be formatted as HFS+.
    The fact that the drive (either the TC drive or a USB attached drive) are accessed via network protocols as a network disk insulates the useing machine from the physical drive format details to a large degree.
    I have a TC with a USB attached drive. Both the TC drive and the USB attached drive are formatted as HFS+ but appear on Windows XP machines as:
    Type: Network Drive
    File system: FAT32
    There has been a lot of discussion of this in this forum:

  • A question about the create object command

    Hi, I met some problems when created type and view:
    In sqlplus,
    1) I first create a address_ty:
    create or replace type address_ty as object
    (street varchar2(50),
    city varchar2(25),
    state char(2),
    zip number);
    type created
    2) Then I created a person_ty;
    create type person_ty as object
    (name varchar2(25),
    address address_ty);
    type created
    3) create the table customer;
    create or replace table customer
    (customer_id number,
    person person_ty);
    table created
    4) create the view based on the customer table;
    create view customer_0v(customer_id, person) as
    select customer_id,
    person_ty(name,
    address_ty(street,city,state,zip))
    from customer;
    ***There is a error message :
    error at line 4: address_ty(street,city,state,zip))
    invalid column name.
    I think it should work but ...
    5) Another question is could I insert into table customer values like this:
    insert into customer values
    (123,'SIGMUND','47 HAFFNER RD','LEWISTON','NJ',22222);
    It does not work in my pc and give a erro message like ' too many valuesj'.
    But some of books said it works.
    Thanks for any help !
    echo
    null

    Why does not the Object itself implement the interface
    CloneableBecause then every object would be cloneable.

  • Question about the time calls

    Hi, I have iPhone 3Gs and I want to see how many minutes I have outgoing calls because the iPhone has only a total time in which they received calls and outgoing calls. Please, no free APPS, which it calculates?
    p.s.: I'm sorry for my english

    You know, iphone maybe is the best phone ever... and it doesn't include this very simple feature. Unfortunately the only way to solve this issue is by jailbraiking which is not supported by apple.
    I hope (and I really mean it) in the next version apple include that feature which is included in all cheap mobiles.

  • Some questions about the carousel object

    Hello,
    I think it is not possible to configure a non circular carousel, isn't it?, i.e., I want a carousel with 13 cells, but when the user is viewing the cell 13 I don't want the cell 1, cell 2, and so on to be viewed as the next ones.
    If this is not possible, I am thinking this:
    The user can see 5 cells (I am using an horizontal carousel) and the focus is in the 3rd cell. What I want to do is when the focus is in the 3rd cell, the user can't move to the cell in its left. Is this possible? The user only can move to the cells in the right until he reaches the third from last.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks in advance!!

    Hi jkhan!
    Thanks a lot for your reply!
    I'm trying the carousel view as a kind of timeline and the curved effect it provides I can't get it with the gallery view.
    If I could disable the carousel movement in a direction when I reached a cell it would be perfect...

  • A question about the impact of SQL*PLUS SERVEROUTPUT option on v$sql

    Hello everybody,
    SQL> SELECT * FROM v$version;
    BANNER
    Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production
    PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
    CORE    11.2.0.1.0  Production
    TNS for Linux: Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
    SQL>
    OS : Fedora Core 17 (X86_64) Kernel 3.6.6-1.fc17.x86_64I would like to ask a question about the SQL*Plus SET SERVEROUTPUT ON/OFF option and its impact on queries on views such as v$sql and v$session. Here is the problem
    Actually I define three variables in SQL*Plus in order to store sid, serial# and prev_sql_id columns from v$session in order to be able to use them later, several times in different other queries, while I'm still working in the current session.
    So, here is how I proceed
    SET SERVEROUTPUT ON;  -- I often activate this option as the first line of almost all of my SQL-PL/SQL script files
    SET SQLBLANKLINES ON;
    VARIABLE mysid NUMBER
    VARIABLE myserial# NUMBER;
    VARIABLE saved_sql_id VARCHAR2(13);
    -- So first I store sid and serial# for the current session
    BEGIN
        SELECT sid, serial# INTO :mysid, :myserial#
        FROM v$session
        WHERE audsid = SYS_CONTEXT('UserEnv', 'SessionId');
    END;
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    -- Just check to see the result
    SQL> SELECT :mysid, :myserial# FROM DUAL;
        :MYSID :MYSERIAL#
           129   1067
    SQL> Now, let's say that I want to run the following query as the last SQL statement run within my current session
    SELECT * FROM employees WHERE salary >= 2800 AND ROWNUM <= 10;According to Oracle® Database Reference 11g Release 2 (11.2) description for v$session
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e25513/dynviews_3016.htm#REFRN30223]
    the column prev_sql_id includes the sql_id of the last sql statement executed for the given sid and serial# which in the case of my example, it will be the above mentioned SELECT query on the employees table. As a result, right after the SELECT statement on the employees table I run the following
    BEGIN
        SELECT prev_sql_id INTO :saved_sql_id
        FROM v$session
        WHERE sid = :mysid AND serial# = :myserial#;
    END;
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SQL> SELECT :saved_sql_id FROM DUAL;
    :SAVED_SQL_ID
    9babjv8yq8ru3
    SQL> Having the value of sql_id, I'm supposed to find all information about cursor(s) for my SELECT statement and also its sql_text value in v$sql. Yet here is what I get when I query v$sql upon the stored sql_id
    SELECT child_number, sql_id, sql_text
    FROM v$sql
    WHERE sql_id = :saved_sql_id;
    CHILD_NUMBER   SQL_ID          SQL_TEXT
    0              9babjv8yq8ru3    BEGIN DBMS_OUTPUT.GET_LINES(:LINES, :NUMLINES); END;Therefore instead of
    SELECT * FROM employees WHERE salary >= 2800 AND ROWNUM <= 10;for the value of sql_text I get the following value
    BEGIN DBMS_OUTPUT.GET_LINES(:LINES, :NUMLINES);Which is not of course what I was expecting to find in v$sql for the given sql_id.
    After a bit googling I found the following thread on the OTN forum where it had been suggested (well I think maybe not exactly for the same problem) to turn off SERVEROUTPUT.
    Problem with dbms_xplan.display_cursor
    This was precisely what I did
    SET SERVEROUTPUT OFFafter that I repeated the whole procedure and this time everything worked pretty well as expected. I checked SQL*Plus documentation for SERVEROUTPUT
    and also v$session page, yet I didn't find anything indicating that SERVEROUTPUT should be switched off whenever views such as v$sql, v$session
    are queired. I don't really understand the link in terms of impact that one can have on the other or better to say rather, why there is an impact
    Could anyone kindly make some clarification?
    thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Dariyoosh

    Hi Dariyoosh,
    SET SERVEROUTPUT ON has the effect of executing dbms_output.get_lines after each and every statement. Not only related to system view.
    Here below what Tom Kyte is explaining in this page:
    Now, sqlplus sees this functionality and says "hey, would not it be nice for me to dump this buffer to screen for the user?". So, they added the SQLPlus command "set serveroutput on" which does two things
    1) it tells SQLPLUS you would like it <b>to execute dbms_output.get_lines after each and every statement</b>. You would like it to do this network rounding after each call. You would like this extra overhead to take place (think of an install script with hundreds/thousands of statements to be executed -- perhaps, just perhaps you don't want this extra call after every call)
    2) SQLPLUS automatically calls the dbms_output API "enable" to turn on the buffering that happens in the package.Regards.

  • Some questions about a Time Capsule

    Hi!!
    I just have a few questions about a Time Capsule, but first let me explain the backgroud to my questions.
    I live in a 2 floor house(including a basement) and my bedroom is downstairs. My parents currently have a desktop PC connected to our wireless router and our printer. Me and my step-father both have 13 inch MacBook Pros, and he uses the Mac like a basic computer, so the equipment connected to our PC is good for him. I, on the other hand, use my Mac, iPad and iPhone to their fullest potential. I am a SUPER MEGA NERD when it comes to computers, so I plan on making my bedroom an amazing office at the same time. So I want an AirPrint Enabled printer in my bedroom (Under 100$$) along with a Time Capsule to back up my information, because everyday I look around in the backdoor of my Mac alot, and if I jack anything up (And I cant handle the problem) I would like to restore my Mac to a previous version. So here are my questions:
    1) My bedroom is right underneath our router, so i get GREAT Wi-Fi in my room. If I get a Time Capsule, can I use it in my room to extend my Wi-Fi, and how would that work? Will it extend my wifi under the same name, because I would like my own Wi-Fi (Titled to what I want with my own password)
    2) If I have to create a NEW Wi-Fi network, how would I do that?
    3) Would I need to connect my new printer directly to my ROUTER, or could I connect it to the TIME CAPSULE?
    If you don't understand what I'm trying to ask (Even though I feel like it's self-explanatory)
    ONE question about the PRINTER: Do any of you have any recommendations for an AirPrint Enabled printer under 100$? Even under-150$ would be okay.
    THANKS FOR ANY HELP!!!!

    everyday I look around in the backdoor of my Mac alot, and if I jack anything up (And I cant handle the problem) I would like to restore my Mac to a previous version. So here are my questions:
    Don't just depend on TM.. use a disk image type utility.. either one of the Mac tools, SuperDuper, CCC, Chronosync or even a linux boot cd (if you have a cd/dvd drive still or via usb can boot) a great tool is Clonezilla.. it will do basically any computer, Mac, Linux, Windows.. and since it boots into its own OS can restore a computer in a flash. Then you can add the incremental changes from TM.
    Actually I am surprised you get good wireless as usually directly above or below a router is often the worst spot. Time Capsule cannot extend the wireless of any other router than Apple.. it is a special system and only Apple can join the club. It has bad effect though, if you set the TC to extend wireless it turns off ethernet ports.. which is hugely dumb.
    The best arrangement is ethernet to the upstairs.. or EOP adapters. If not then a wireless router that matches the existing unit will generally be better than mixing apple and non-apple.
    2) If I have to create a NEW Wi-Fi network, how would I do that?
    3) Would I need to connect my new printer directly to my ROUTER, or could I connect it to the TIME CAPSULE?
    You create a new wireless network by selecting manually the wireless channel and use different wireless name, ssid and security. There are 3 available channels on 2.4ghz.. your existing router will use one or two.. depending on if the setting is 20mhz or 40mhz.. so you need to manually set everything and not use auto.
    TC is slow on 2.4ghz cf 5ghz and there are many more channels at 5ghz but not everything can use it.. iphone for instance is 2.4ghz only . whereas ipad can use 5ghz.. most full computers now can use 5ghz.
    Buy a wireless network printer. Or alternatively an ethernet network would be also ok but now are more expensive than wireless ones. Network printers are not much more than straight USB and work much better.
    I do not use airprint so have nothing to offer.. find the best HP model in your budget.. but others may have had more experience.. I use ethernet connected b/w laser business type HP.. they work great.. but airprint is too recent an innovation for me.

  • Question about the notification center (Mails and Reminders)

    Hello together,
    I just started using Mountain Lion and now I have some few questions about the notification center.
    1. Is it possible to show all reminds in the notification center? I have a lot of reminds without an date / time and they don't appear in the notification center.
    2. Is it possible to show the last five Mails in the notification center? I'm just seeing new incoming mails, but I would prefer it, if I could see the last five mails
         (no matter if readed or unreaded).
    Thank you very much for you help.
    Ratte1988
    Hallo zusammen,
    Ratte1988

    Only reminders with dates appear in the notification center - undated ones don't. Once an email has been read, it is removed from the notification center. Apple has a feedback center where you can offer suggestions.

  • Question about the chain step name in DEFINE_CHAIN_STEP

    I have questions about the chain step name in DEFINE_CHAIN_STEP:
    1. Can the step name be a number (e.g. "8")?
    2. Should the step name be unique within a chain or across all chains?
    I am having this exception:
    ORA-25448: rule DMUSER.RULE_6_3707 has errors
    ORA-22806: not an object or REF
    After I changed the step names (in DEFINE_CHAIN_STEP), the chain seems to run fine.
    Thanks,
    Denny

    The reason I asked about the step name is to confirm it can handle numbers (it looks it can handle it from the doc).
    Why I changed the step names say from "11" to "21", the error goes away, that puzzled me. Because the way I defined steps and the rules for the steps were exactly the same. Just changing the step names made the error goes away?!
    Thanks.

  • Question about the "iPod radio remote"

    I assume the "radio remote" is the same for every country and is under software control. I want to buy in Canada but use in UK and Canada.
    Has anyone got one and seen the RDS work, in the UK almost every FM channel is RDS. Do they have RDS in Canada (Toronto) can anyone confirm?
    And of course it says FM so this again I assume no AM, not that I need AM it was just an interest in if it could do it.
    What happens about headphones, you can plug a pair into the remote, can you still plug into the bottom of the iPod or does the remote connector get in the way.
    What is the story with "line out" I use this all the time as I amp my headphones. So I assume you cant use line out? or is the remote a line out also.
    And I assume the remote cable and you headphones act as the aerial, how is the quality? Is it any good indoors, some little FM radios I have used drop to mono indoors. Does this Apple one frop to mono if the signal is weak?
    Someone that has one can perhaps answer
    Cheers
    Ray

    I can at least answer some of the questions.
    The RDS function on this radio/remote is poor in the
    UK. You have to set the radio function on the iPod
    to "Europe" and when you do this RDS info is not
    displayed on almost all radio stations such as
    Virgin, XFM, Capital, GLR, etc. It does display on
    Radio 2 however. At least, this is my finding. So
    it's unpredictable at best. Setting the radio to
    "USA" on the iPod increases the likelihood of getting
    the RDS to display, but the downside is that you can
    then only tune the radio in increments of 2mhz which
    is a bit awkward if your looking for 89.1mhz!
    There are three settings for the radio which you
    choose via the iPod. They are USA/Europe/Japan. No
    setting for Canada, although I'm sure you will still
    be able to use it over there as I can still use mine
    here in the UK even if it's set to USA.
    No, there is no AM radio.
    You can plug headphones into the remote or the
    headphone jack on the iPod, or both at the same time.
    I'm not sure I understand your question about the
    bottom of the iPod. The radio plugs into the iPod
    via the dock connector.
    There is no 'line out' on the iPod. If you mean the
    one on the dock, then no you can't use it as you
    cannot place the iPod into the dock whilst the
    radio/remote is connected as they use the same
    connector.
    Yes the cable of the remote acts as the aerial.
    Reception is surprisingly good where I am, but it
    will of course depend on where you use it. I've
    used it indoors without any drop in signal or it
    dropping to mono.
    Lastly, you need to update the software for both the
    nano or the 5th generation for the radio to work
    (after you do this a radio function appears in the
    menu), and some users have found that doing this
    screws up the iPod. I have mine working on both the
    nano and the 5th gen without any problems.
    There is a review of the radio/remote here. I like
    mine and consider it a worthwhile accessory, but of
    course there will be those who disagree.
    iPod
    Radio/Remote Review.
    Thank you for the reply.
    Think your right USA or Europe will work in Canada.
    Yes I mean the line out via the dock, I just wondered if the remote become a line out socket (I also use a pocket dock for line out for headphone amp as I use a pair of Sennheiser HD600 with my ipod) but of course that is silly becasue you have a volume control on the remote and line out is normaly fixed.
    Based on your views I shall get one in March when in Toronto
    Cheers

  • Question about the new Yoga 10 HD+

    Hi
    A few questions about the new Yoga 10 HD+ which I hope you can answer.
    I bought the old model last year. Loved the design and long battery time but a few major issues made me return it.
    Somewhere I read that it can't read NTFS over USB so I presume that's the same with an NTFS formatted microSD card?
    Can it read exFAT formatted microSD cards?
    Anyone observed issues regarding audio over bluetooth?
    (I know BT isn't exactly High End HiFi but the old Yoga 10 for some odd reason - most likely a driver issue which nobody cared to fix - sounded *much* worse with quite noticeably distortion while both my phone and a cheap noname tablet I have zero fidelity issues - no matter which of my bluetooth audio devices I tried aptX or not)
    So to avoid buying this only to return it too I really would like to see if I can have my questions answered before buying it.
    While I love the form factor and long running time the above issues are just two mayor dealbreakers to me. Bad audio quality = no joy listening to spotify, local MP3s etc. No NTFS or exFAT = no large movies.
    My old noname android tablet really could use an upgrade so I'm really curious whether this can be it or I should look at the competition and sacrify form factor and battery runtime.
    Thanks in advance.
    EDIT:
    If it's not supporting either NTFS or exFAT on the microSD have anyone tried ext3 and/or ext4?
    I mean with Androids Linux roots it should be a nobrainer to support at least when it comes to royalties unlike NTFS or exFAT where there *might* be some issues with Microsoft.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Thanks!
    OK. Seems I should just stay clear of this and look elsewhere
    Sony for sure I know support exFAT. I'm usure about Samsung. Odd it seems so hard to find out. File sizes of +4 GB should be taken for granted - it's not 199x anymore...
    Oh well. Wonder whether to just go for one from the competition or perhaps just save the money and wait until 64 bit catches on. Rumors is that the next Nexus 8 will be 64 bit... (I really don't expect an answer on this)

  • Short question about the nano controls

    Hi. I'm probably going to buy a 4Gb nano today, but first I'd like to ask a short question about the << >> buttons on the click wheel.
    I read in a forum that the << & >> buttons are actually 'skip' buttons (only used to play the previous or next song respectively), and that it's impossible to rewind or fast-forward within the track you're listening to. This is extremely important for me as I have several 2-3 hours mp3, and I need to be able to access different parts of the file quickly (eg. not having to actually wait 1 hour to listen to my favorite part). I found this to be an important feature, and I can't believe Apple hasn't thought about it.
    Anyway, I've never used an iPod, that's why this question may sound plain stupid.
    Thanks for you replies!

    The iPod fast charges to about 80% and then trickle charges the rest of the way to prevent damaging the battery/iPod. A full charge takes more than an hour or two though the battery indicator will show full. The best way to tell if a full charge has occurred is to unmount the iPod from the computer but keep it connected. The screen will show an animation of a battery. When the animation stops the battery is fully charged.
    Also, as your battery discharges the indicator will eventually show red indicating the battery is about to run out...in an hour or two. After you've owned your iPod for a couple months you'll figure out how much time you have left when the indicator turns red - it depends on a number of factors including play volume, equalizer use, etc. In real world use I'm getting over 11 hours.
    The headphones are...average. If they didn't hurt my ears I'd find them acceptable for my pop music but not so acceptable for acoustic and symphonic nor music with booming bass - because they don't boom the bass.
    I encode the majority of my music at 256 AAC and I've noticed no distortion caused by the EQ. This, plus your complaint about the earphones, leads me to think perhaps you got a bum set of phones. Borrow a pair from someone else and see what happens.

  • HT5463 Questions about the "Do Not Disturb" feature not addressed in documentation

    Hello,
    I have some questions about the "Do Not Disturb" feature which are not quite addressed by the documentation.
    When DND is enabled, will badge app icons still be displayed?
    When DND is turned off, either manually or automatically, will Notification Center banners be available for alerts which occurred while DND was on, or are they lost forever?
    I guess the main questions is, is DND like an answering machine, which stores up your notifications until you are ready to deal with them?  Or is it a return of the "turn off all notifications" feature that existed in iOS 4, albeit in a more evolved form?
    Thanks,
    - Steve

    If you have a schedule set, but activate it manually, it will de-activate at the scheduled time anyway. It behaves perfectly on my 4S, my wife's 4, and both of our iPads.
    If you have an iPhone 5, it could be tied to the known issue with automatic time set going Wonky on LTE networks. If that's the case, try disabling the automatic time set and see if it behaves itself.

  • SUP - 2 questions about the CDB (cache database)

    Hi,
    I have 2 questions about the cache database and the cache groups:
    1 - How does the "On demand" cache group policy exactly works? I know that online cache group is without storing any data on the CDB making direct requests to de backend from the device, the DCN is based on updating from the backend, the scheduled is based on a time period, but I don't understand how the "on demand" exactly works, and why it has a time period too.
    2 - Is it possible to query the cache database table to check the data that SUP has stored? How can I do this?
    Thank you!

    I posted a similar question in SUP Apps project not too long ago and  Paul Horan provided this useful reply:
    Create a "Sybase ASA v12.x for Unwired Server" connection profile in the Enterprise Explorer.  I named mine CDB.
    : Host = localhost (or whatever the machine name is)
    : Port = 5200
    : Database name = "default"
    : User Name = "dba"
    : Password = "sql"
    Obviously, change the userid/password to match, if you changed them during install time.
    Connect, and you'll see the "default" database displayed.
    Navigate down through the Tables folder, and the first subfolder is labeled something like [#should_delete_sk ...]  Start there.
    You'll see a bunch of tables with the naming convention "D1" + package name + package version + MBO name.  These are the cache tables for the MBOs.

  • Question about the order to creating Account, Contact, Contact Role

    Hi, my friends,
    I have some questions about the order of creating Account, Contact, Contact Role, etc in Web Service 1.0. I could create them in the following case:
    1. Insert Contact object and get contactId (now new contact exists in CRMOD)
    2. Insert Account object with Contact Role child associated with contactId
    My questions are:
    1. Do we have the following order? Insert new Account with new Contact child and Contact Role child (Contact is new and does not exist in CRMOD).
    2. Looks like system need accountId, contactId, etc to make the objects relationship. Is there other field having the same function?
    Thanks

    Hi Ray,
    In response to your questions:
    1. Do we have the following order? Insert new Account with new Contact child and Contact Role child (Contact is new and does not exist in CRMOD).No. Both the Account and Contact must already exist. The Role value is an attribute on the Account Contact relationship, this relationship must exist in order to assign a role value to it. This is consistent with the behaviour of the UI, when you press the New button on the Contact child applet, you are taken to the Contact New page where you can create a Contact record. Once you save, the relationship is created but you cannot assign a role value unless you click the Edit Roles link next to the new Contact.
    2. Looks like system need accountId, contactId, etc to make the objects relationship. Is there other field having the same function?Correct, the system needs to know which Account/Contact pair is being assigned a role value. To do this the Account and Contact values must be uniquely identified using the Id values for each.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Sean
