Question in Takeover values

Hi Gurus,
   When I created a new legacy asset using as91, I entered acquisition value for the book under "takeover values" tab.   The same acquisition value was auto popluated to
all the depreciation tax areas as well.   At that time, we did not know why it does that and since we were only deal with the book depreciation, we did not do anything.   Now that we are approaching year end when we do have to run tax depreciation(once a year), we found that some tax depreciation areas do not require to be depreciated for some assets.  We would like to remove the acquisition value from the depreciation areas but we can't.  They are grayed out.   Only dep area 01, 10, 14 and 30  are allowed to change acquisition values.  The rest of areas are all grayed out.  Is this a configuration issue?  Where can I change the config so that all tax dep areas are open for value change?   Thanks!

I believe I have a similar question and need to know how to separate the row processing. Do I need to separate the forms to separate pages?
I am using APEX 4.0.2.00.06 on a Linux server running Oracle 11g R2 and have the following problem:
I have a page with two forms for creation of new rows in either the sites table or the site-projects table. Site-projects is defined as follows with four numbers and two character fields:
Site_id           number(10,0) PK1
Cruise_id           number(10,0) PK2
Sequence_number      number(10,0) PK3
Project_id           number(10,0)
Assigned_flag      varchar2(1) default ‘N’
Planned-site_flag      varchar2(1) default ‘N’
The entry form uses select lists for many of the fields, but it is the assigned_flag that seems to be causing problems. It’s LOV definition is static2:UNASSIGNED;N,ASSIGNED;Y
When I tap the create button, I get
ORA-20507: Invalid numeric value N for column ASSIGNED_FLAG
Error Unable to process row of table SITES.
This suggests that something is going on at the sites table even though I use the create button associated with the site-projects table. Am I invoking the row processing for the sites table as well? Why does it run into invalid number when the field is varchar2? Actually, I get the exact same error if I use the create button on the sites portion of the page.
The site table has the following columns:
Site_id           number(10,0) PK1
Parent_site_id      number(10,0) nullable
Stratum_id      number(10,0)
Area_id      number(10,0)
Site_type_id      number(10,0)
Name           varchar2(50)

  • Not Able to Post Takeover Values using AS91

    Hi Guys,
    I am not able to post Takeover Values as of 12/31/2007. I gave the last closed fiscal year as 2007 and the system automatically took the takeover date as 12/31/2007. When I try to enter the dtat in Takeover values, it is greyed out. Can anybody explain why it is not allowing me to change values?
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi,
    Try this option -
    1. Keep the cursor focussed on the field that you want to change
    2. Goto Menu Edit >> Change field contents
    A pop up will appear asking to change the value.  Give the required value to be changed and save.

  • Asset Takeover values

    hello Experts
    we have uploaded assets from transaction AS91 and now we are trying to change it from AS92.
    There is a asset with capitalization date as 19.05.2009. I go to the 'takeover value' tab and want to put in the accumulated depre but the field is greyed out. how can I do that? if its possible.
    Similarly for assets whose capitalization date is in 2008 the system allows me to put in the accumulated depre values.
    thanks
    Jimmy

    hi,
    When you goto AS92 and then to the 'takeover values' tab ,it display 1 screen.
    In that you have three tabs :master data.transaction,origin. In origin tab----
    There in asset value fileds you have '*** .acq val',Acc. ord dep,Net book value ..here you can enter the data.
    Another thing you cant delete the line,rather you can make the value ZERO.

  • Takeover values coming with grey mode

    Hi!!!
    Please help me somebody....
    I hve a problem... I create asset on AS91 but when i put a Asset capitalization date in XX.XX.2009 the Takeover values coming with grey mode but if i put Asset capitalization date in XX.XX.2008 I can fill the takeover values without problems.
    I already execute the AJAB and AJRW I now, mi fiscal year is 2009.
    Please Help me....
    Regards,

    I am not sure why you are using AS91 for current year data transfer.
    AS91 is for legacy date transfer...that is for assets capitalized in the prior years and loaded in the system this year.
    If the assets have a capitalization date in the current year then you can create the master record using AS01 and then post using AB01.. right
    Another thing to note is when you have the current year capitalization date, why will you have cumulative acquisition value and  accumulate deepreciaiton
    You will have to use the transactions  to fill in the current year transactions tab instead of the takeover values.
    Take a look here for more clarification

  • Corrections on legacy takeover value assets

    Hello,
    I have posted a correction on a asset GL account  related to the  takeover values via  FB50L is this ok or should I done that via OASV? So do i need to reverse the initial document and redo it via OASV?
    Thanks for advice

    Hi,
    Your correction procedure will be depending on the method, which you followed during your legacy asset takeover process.
    There are 2 ways.
    1) Thru OASV (where you can directly post manual entries to asset recon account without resetting th erecon indicator in the master data)
    2) Another is FB50/F-02, here you must reset the recon indicator for asset recon GL accounts in order to pass opening balances to match with figures of FI-AA.
    So whatever the method you use, you must reverse the original entry and pass the new entry with correct values.
    But you may face some issues in case of OASV reversals...i am sure.
    To correct takeover values in legacy asset master data-> Takeover values tab...you can directly go to AS92 and change the values. I mean in case of GL upload balances are correct and FI-AA takeover values are wrong.

  • AS91 - takeover values coming with grey mode

    Hi,
    While doing As91 system is giving grey mode for cumm acquisation value and accumalated depreciation value under takeover values tab. Can any body tell me what could be the reason.
    govind.

    Hi,
    actually in AS91 i have given all master data, then in takeover value screen i need to enter acquisation value, accumalated depreciation and ordinary depreciation. because my golive data was 31.07.2008. so in legacy data transfer date i have given  as 31.07.2008 and ordinary depreciation legacy date 2008 period 4. based on this settings, sytem is allowing the ordinary depreciation field, but acquisation and accumalated depreciation field is coming with grey mode.

  • Group Asset  Takeover Value

    Dear,
    Is there any table entry for group asset takeover value ?..
    When i am using AS82 for creating group asset after that click on Takeover value then that field comes in grayed..

    Hi,
    Check out the depreciation area screen layout and not asset master screen layout. Check out your Configuration fro group assets at the depreciation area level.

  • Takeover values - Tax depreciation

    Hi
    Wrt to takeover values using tcode AS91 we are not able to view the tax depreciation area fields.
    Wanted to know whether any configs are left out since these fields are not appearing.
    Regards
    Deepak

    Have a look if this area is in the transaction OAYE
    When you make a normal asset with values do you then see the values from this depreciation area in the table ANLC. It is possible that you have set-up an depreciation area that not store the values. (is only a calculation)

    Hi, hope someone can help me I've been looking at examples, but I cant get this to work:
    Here is a link to what the data looks like: http://primolandia.com/line_problem.jpg
    As you can see, I have a table with columns: Team, Date, CriteriaNum1, CriteriaNum2, CriteriaNum3
    One graph per Criteria which compares how each Team did on that Criteria thru time...
    So I want the X axis to have the "Date" and have one line per team showing the value at different times ...

  • A question about input values inside PL/SQL block

    Dear all,
    I would appreciate if you could kindly help me with this question.
    Consider the following code.
    DECLARE
      myvar1 NUMBER;
      myvar2 NUMBER;
      myvar3 NUMBER;
    BEGIN
      myvar1 := &1;
      myvar2 := &2;
      myvar3 := &3;
      DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line('myvar1 = ' || myvar1);
      DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line('myvar2 = ' || myvar2);
      DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line('myvar3 = ' || myvar3);
    END;
    /This program reads three values as input and prints them. However, I noticed that if instead of writing
    myvar1 := &1;
    myvar2 := &2;
    myvar3 := &3;I write
    myvar1 := '&1';
    myvar2 := '&2';
    myvar3 := '&3';The program will have very same result. I would like to know whether there is a semantic difference between both syntax,
    that is, is there any difference between for example &myvar1 and 'myvar1'?
    Thanks in advance,
    Dariyoosh

    Try this
    CREATE TABLE test_sem  (x VARCHAR2(10), y NUMBER)
    INSERT INTO test_sem VALUES ('A',1);
    INSERT INTO test_sem VALUES ('B',1);
    INSERT INTO test_sem VALUES ('C',1);
    INSERT INTO test_sem VALUES ('D',1);
    SELECT * FROM test_sem WHERE x='&1' --OK
    SELECT * FROM test_sem WHERE x=&1 -- error not a valid number
    SELECT * FROM test_sem WHERE y=&1 -- ok
    SELECT * FROM test_sem WHERE y='&1' -- ok since numbers can be converted to strings'&1' is for characters &1 for numbers;
    You can verify form above test case

  • SQL releated question: Increase field value upon query of record

    Hi
    upon a database query i would like the database to automtically access an integer field (kind of hit counter) in each record that was selected (is part of the result set).
    For speed reasons i thought it would be great if that could be done on the database server side, so i don't have to create additional queries just do select und update a record.
    I just read a bit about triggers, but not i don't see if i could use a trigger that for and have no idea how to create a trigger for that purpose (haven't found a good tutorial 'till now..).
    Could this be done with triggers? How would I have to do this?
    Thanks for your help
    josh

    Hi Avi
    thanks for the explanation.
    I see, triggers are not useful to do what i want. As you explain i could create a stored procedure. There procedures are just 'simple' SQl queries, right?
    I guess i could do it the way you described. If i understand it right, it's very similar to creating a second query which UPDATEs the specified field (that's what i do at the moment).
    One additional question if you don't mind. Is there any way to declare a kind of "evaluation code" that can be placed into a database field that would do some simple task i.e. i have two tables, in the first i have all categories and in the second i have all elements. I have the categorie id stored with the elements as primary key. Now i would like to have a database field in each categorie record that contains the actual number of all related elements. I could manualy update this field each time a realted element gets added or deleted, but it would be easier if there was some "code" i could set into that field that lets the database automatically evaluate the right value. Is that possible?
    Thanks again

  • Question on passing value to an HTML page and dynamic links

    Hi,
    I just started using Oracle APEX and have the following questions:
    1) I try to pass an order number from a report page to a blank HTML page that is supposed to be a shipping label. I cannot have the HTML page resolve the placeholder within HTML code to actual order number. I have tried %P2_ORDER_ID%, #P2_ORDER_ID# or &P2_ORDER_ID. Any suggestions?
    2) I have a column with link in a report page and I want the link to go to different pages based on the value of that column. How should I do that?
    Thanks!
    Mike.

    Hi All,
    Im still trying to think about this the right way.
    If I add a servlet to the C2 project and use HTTP post from the HTML page and have the 2 variables in the servlet, could I then either set the variables on the session bean in order to make them available to my searchResults.jsp bean methods?

  • Question about normalizing values

    Hey guys,
    I have this code here that reads in odometer reading from two vehicles and plots them.
    Here is my question
    since each vehicle has its own starting values such as 85K miles or 15K miles...
    How would i normalize the initial odometer reading at 0 and loop through the other values with the same proportion?...
    Here's the code I have :
    public void plotDataset(String label, TimeSeriesCollection tsc,
                                   dataSet ds) {
        String dsName = ds.majorDescriptor;
        dbg("processing " + dsName);
        TimeSeries ts = new TimeSeries(label, Day.class);
        int dsSize = ds.size();
        for (int i=0; i<dsSize; i++) {
          dataEl el   = ds.get(i);
          double val  = el.getMainValue();
          Date   date = el.getDateJava();
          ts.addOrUpdate(new Day(date), val);
         tsc.addSeries(ts);

    This doesn't make sense to me. What it seems to be saying is create an object of type StringWriter and pass a copy of this object to an invoke method. Then pass a copy to the filter method and set the return value to a String call output. However before you pass a copy to the filter method convert it to a String.Objects are not values in Java. "stringWriter" is a reference to a StringWriter object. In your other example "i" is a reference to a String object. A reference is kind of like a pointer in C.
    Edited by: spoon_ on Dec 27, 2007 5:44 PMOkay so i is a reference, but then if that reference is passed onto another method doesn't that method instantiate its own copy of that reference, i.e. create a new reference pointing to a new object. That is why the value of String i doesn't change when you pass it to the method.
    However the value of stringWriter in the example given below does change;
    public class test2 {
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            StringBuilder i = new StringBuilder("Hello");
            System.out.println("The value of i is "+i);
            addOne(i);
            System.out.println("The value of i is now "+i);
        public static void addOne(StringBuilder i){
            i.append("Goodbye");
    }why is it that the value of stringWriter is changed when you pass it to a method and the value of String i isn't changed when you pass it through a method?

  • Question about changing values of a total by selecting a check box.

    OK, so what I did was create a form for my workplace that totals the value an employee's quality of work. what i want this form to do is: In one cell the total is a 100 point value. In one column i have a markable checkbox and in the column next to that there is a point value for that particular category. what i want is to be able to check a box next to category and have the corresponding point value deducted from the "100" total. for example if I check the box next a value of 40, then the 100 becomes a 60 automatically. I am new to numbers, and any spreadsheet app for that matter so any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Another question about my last post: numbers will only let me add 2 to 3 cells in the formula to change the "total" number of 100. is there a way to add more then 3 cells? i have 9 cells total that i want to have the ability to subtract from that same total?
    There is no such limit in Numbers. I'm guessing that you ran out of room in the formula edit line in the Formula Bar.
    Grab the double line and pull it down to expand the edit area.

  • Sql tuning advisor question on bind values

    Hi guys,
    I used the sql tuning wizard in Oracle 11g to get recommendation on how to improve performance on a long running query. Here is the recommendation I received:
    At least one important bind value was missing for this sql statement. The
    accuracy of the advisor's analysis may depend on all important bind values
    being supplied.
    Could someone please help me understand what it means? For example, what is a bind value, why was it missing, and why are they important?
    Thanks!

    I've seen this message maybe once before but I've never investigated it - I don't tend to run the SQL tuning advisor.
    The best thing you could do is investigate the circumstances yourself, maybe trace the tuning advisor and see where it's getting its data from internally.
    As mentioned, where it gets its data from depends on how you populate the tuning advisor - from cursor cache, awr, etc.
    If it's from AWR as you mentioned, have a look at DBA_HIST_SQLSTAT.BIND_DATA for example? Or maybe DBA_HIST_SQLBIND? Etc.
    You can check what the advisor probably pulls out of AWR using something like this:
    select *
    from   table(dbms_Sqltune.select_workload_repository
                 (begin_snap   => 6441,
                  end_snap     => 6443,
                  basic_filter => 'sql_id = ''gr5tqfnz07sxk'''));If the bind_list is empty then you know what it's complaining about.
    I just tried it with an example sql it that I can see has bind data in DBA_HIST_SQLSTAT and DBA_HIST_SQLBIND and the BIND_LIST in the SQLSET returned by the SQL set above is null so that raises some questions ( I might be doing something wrong but as mentioned, it's not really something I tend to use).
    The BIND_DATA raw is populated for me (although the bind_list collection isn't hence why original comment above).
    If you know a representative set of binds, you can kick off your own tuning task manually and supply your own set of binds - see DBMS_SQLTUNE.CREATE_TUNING_TASK.
    You can also extract and inspect the RAW BIND_DATA into a set of binds using DBMS_SQLTUNE.EXTRACT_BINDS.
    e.g. to inspect:
    select x.*
    from   v$sql s
    ,      table(dbms_sqltune.extract_binds(s.bind_data)) x
    where  sql_id = '<sql_id>';Edited by: Dom Brooks on May 17, 2012 5:59 PM
