Line Graph Question: Compare different values thru time ...

Hi, hope someone can help me I've been looking at examples, but I cant get this to work:
Here is a link to what the data looks like: http://primolandia.com/line_problem.jpg
As you can see, I have a table with columns: Team, Date, CriteriaNum1, CriteriaNum2, CriteriaNum3
One graph per Criteria which compares how each Team did on that Criteria thru time...
So I want the X axis to have the "Date" and have one line per team showing the value at different times ...
Any ideas?
Thank you!!!
Claudio

I wish to withdraw this question ... I finally figured out my issue...

  • Report Line Graph Question

Hi, I am plotting a line graph with some date values on the X axis and some data on the Y axis.
    For Example:
    Sep 01 11
    Sep 02 19
    Sep 03 14
    Sep 04
    Sep 05 9
    Sep 06
    Sep 07
    Sep 08 19
This will result in gaps on the 4th, 6th and the 7th. This is expected behaviour. However, is it possible to set some properties in the graph so the line will be continuous. For Example From 14 to 9 (downward) and from 9 to 19 (upward), without 'assuming' values or nvling to 0 (then the line will drop all the way to 0 and bounce up). ( I want to include dates without Y axis data )
I have markers on points that have values (ex: 11,19,14,9 and 19), if the line just connects without data there will not be any markers and the user will understand there are no data for those dates. The continuous line will make it easy to understand the flow (without using a fit or a trend line).
I have pretty much exhausted all attribute settings from graph.dtd
Note: I have an access chart I am converting to Reports and access lets you do this and I have to maintain the same in Reports !
    Thanks

  • Line Graph Issue - In BIP values are summed for same date

    Hi
    I have below data
    Date-----------------------Sell
    27-Mar-13----------------10
    28-Mar-13----------------15
    28-Mar-13----------------20
    30-Mar-13----------------25
There are two entries on 28-Mar-2013. On BIP line graph; Sell values are added and graph show value 35 on 28-Mar-2013.
I want to show two different values on line graph for 28-Mar-2013.

    Hi 913804
I am amazed you found the browser certification of OBIEE 11.1.1.6 I could not find it anywhere in the documentation nor from metalink personell.
Regarding the graphs not showing, we found this to be an issue with IE and not with Firefox. First make sure you have followed the upgrade step listed in
3.9.11.2 Updating Oracle Business Intelligence Catalogs from http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e16793/patch_set_installer.htm#PATCH250. Then the last resort was to recreate the graph component in each report from scratch. As you say pie charts are unaffected.

  • Line Graph Question

    Hi
I am trying to create a graph where I have 3 data points
    this relates to  inspections
House number      Items found  date of inspections
    101                                  30              April, 2 2014
    201                                  34            May 1 2014
Y axis I am showing items found
x axis I am displaying the House number
I would like to also display the month the inspection occurred
A am currently displaying the month in the legend at bottom of page
But would like to do something like below
I am getting x and y ok  but not month display (Thanks)
            |
    30    |
    20    |
    10    |__________________________________
                                      101  201      301  302  303
JAN FEB MAR APR MAY        JUN

    Hi
I have it in the report header
I have created a formula to extract the month from inspection date
I added both the data expert for the x axis sorted original sort
each month can contain any number or inspections and indicated by different colours on the line
    graph matching the legend colours
What would be great is if I can delineate where each months data starts and stops
it's sort of done by the graph now by using different colours but I would like to label it
tried every option but could not pull it off
    thanks

  • 2D Line Graph Question

I have a 2D line graph that I built. At some points in the graph where the lines intersect the number values displayed on the graph get bunched up and it is hard to read. Is there a way to fix that? This is APEX 3.2 on Oracle 10.2.0.4 database. Thanks

You basically have only a couple of options here:
First, turn off the labels and possibly turn them into Hints. They wouldn't show on the chart, but when the user held over the data point, a tool tip would appear showing them the valuable.
Second, adjust elements of the chart. What you are really looking at here is that your data set is causing this specific issue and not the charting engine or anything like that. You could try to manually change the axis max and min to get more spacing, or you could adjust the height of the chart to get more spacing, but this may not be a viable option. You could have one set of labels above the plotted line and another set of labels below the plotted line that way the values do not overlap with anything. However, from a conceptual standpoint, it will be difficult to determine in code which line should have values above and which should have values below. When your data set changes, you may end up with labels in the wrong place if you hard code where they are at.
The current XML reference can be found at: http://www.anychart.com/products/anychart/docs/xmlReference/index.html however, that is for anychart 5. I'm looking for the link to the earlier versions...
You can use this to create custom xml where you can adjust the position of the labels.
Finally, you do not want expand the height of the chart between two points on the Y axis. That would change the structure of the chart and the visual properties of the chart and the shape of the data would be askew. You cannot do this for good reason. You can though use a logrithmic scale. In most cases though, this is not a practical solution. Data sets need to have very specific characteristics in order to be able to merit a logrithmic scale. Most queries require a simple linear scale.

  • Line Graph - set useful baseline value automatically

    Hi all,
for a line graph in reports I've set the axisMinAutoScaled-property of the Y1Axis-element to "false" and expect that reports find out a useful value for the baseline at its own. Unfortunately the value of the baseline is always set to 0 whether a range of 1.000 to 10.000 or a range of 1 to 10 is selected.
Do you know a way to set the value of the baseline depending on the displayed values.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Sreehari,
I tried to set the y-axis scale for line chart by using code. But its showing the default value, not displaying the value what i gave. Adding my code for reference.
       var axis = new sap.viz.ui5.types.Axis().setScale(
           new sap.viz.ui5.types.Axis_scale().setMinValue(20.0).setMaxValue(100.0).setFixedRange(true));

  • Sy-tabix showing different value each time after ENDLOOP stmt

    Hi,
when i am executing my program its having one loop statement . after finishing that loop
    below the Endloop statement.
sy-tabix some time showing 1 and some time showing 2.
    why its chaging its value

    Hi,
As per SAP online help on [LOOP statement|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_470/helpdata/EN/fc/eb381a358411d1829f0000e829fbfe/content.htm]
When you leave the loop, SY-TABIX has the same value as when you entered it.
So the value you are seeing in Sy-tabix after endloop is because of some internal table operations before the starting of that loop.
You can check this by comparing the sy-tabix value before first Loop pass and after last loop pass.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Engage 2008: Line Graph, can't start 2nd series @ different X value

    Using Xcelsius Engage 2008
Created line chart w/ 2 series
2nd series does not start at the same X value as series 1.
How do I generate the second series so the initial part of my 2nd series line does not show all 0s?
    Thank you
    Nancy Griffin

    Hi Tammy.
I'm using Xcelsius version: 5.0.0.99 and Build number 12,0,0,121.   I am not sure if S1 is already installed.  If not, where can I get it?
This is what I'm trying to do:
    1) created a basic line graph with two series
Series 1 Data has 2 columns
Series 1 Column 1 includes dates. THis will be the labels for the X axis:
    1/1/07
    1/6/07
    1/12/07
    1/1/08
    1/6/08
Column 2 includes the line graph data for series 1
    30
    50
    10
    90
    120, etc
Series 2 column 1 - THis is the same as series 1 since it includes the same labels for the X axis
Series 2 column 2  includes the data for the 2nd line graph
    HERE's WHERE IT IS DIFFERENT
I have no data for dates 1/1, 1/6,  1/12/07.   My data starts in
2008. I don't want the graph to show 0s for the first 3 dates and then jump up to the 2008 data.   Is there a way to make the 2nd line chart start on 1/1/08?
thank you. Really appreciate your help.

  • Line Graph will be broken on the different lines issue

Hi, While I create a line graph which Horizontal Axis is date, if just has one line then the line is a continuous line from start date to end date,
but if have more than 2 lines and if these lines do not have values on one same date then these lines will be broken
my question is does this correct ? Our requirement is that these lines should be continuous, can the line graph do that ?

Your post is unclear, but I think you want to do the following:
Acquire 2D intensity data from a CCD array and plot it on an intensity graph
Draw two lines to delineate an area of interest
Integrate the values of the CCD between these two lines
This is relatively straightforward, but you will need a more complex architecture than the one you currently have.  You will need to use the event structure and probably should have a task handling loop, as well.  This architecture is known by several things, but "event-driven state machine" is probably the most common.  Search these forums for that phrase and you will get lots of information.
    For your particular problem:
In your event structure, you will need events to handle drawing the line (could be mouse or button/parameter driven, or both), events to calculate the integral, and the usual start/stop/data acquisition things.  Note that all these events should only generate commands for your command processor/state machine to handle.  These will be send via queue.
In your queue-driven state machine / task handler, you will need a shift register to hold such variables as the line data (both of them), local copy of the intensity graph data, etc.
The different frames of the case statement (or dynamically dispatched VIs if you go the object oriented route) do the actual work.
You should learn about the event structure and queue driven state machines before starting this.  Start with the LabVIEW help, then search these forums for additional info.  For example, I believe altenbach posted a demo awhile back of the event structure in which he drew a polygonal line.
Good luck.  Let us know if you need more info.

  • In billing document VAT condition type flowing 2 times with Different value

    Hi,
    1. In my requirement, In order creation time , in the pricing procedure ZPROJT (Proj Material Sales) VAT condition type (JLST) is flowing one time with the condition record of 5% for one line item and the same we changed manually to 12.75 %, for the  same condition type (JLST) and we saved the order. After that  we created delivery with reference to the same order, final  the billing document creation time with reference to the delivery (in the pricing procedure ZPROJT (Proj Material Sales))for the same line item VAT condition type (JLST) is flowing 2 times with 2 different values ( 5% and 12.75%) and it is calculating the 2 different values to the final value. But normally only the manually changed (12.75%) value should be taken to the account. Please help me How to stop the condition type (VAT  C Type "JLST") from flowing two times for the same line item in the billing - and we need to take the value of (12.75% manually changed value) to the final calculation.
    2. In one pricing procedure normally if you add the same "C Type" for two times it will throw the error message like "Duplication Of C type" and you can't save the order with out deleting the same. Please tell me,  where is the contole for the same.

    Hi,
Check copy control settings in VTFL
At item level make pricing type as D - Copy pricing elements unchanged

  • Multi line graph values issue

    Hi,
    I am using JDev 11.1.2.2.0
I made a standard line graph which I populate with data through a backing bean.
I read a post on how to put points to the graph:
    ArrayList <Object[]> data;
    Object[0] -> x axis data, here I have dates
Object[1] -> name of the serie, a new serie is created for each different name
    Object[2] -> y axis data, here I have values
Then I put the list to the graph and it works fine, only for one serie.
When I display 2 or more series, the graph shows the different series in different colors as it is suposed to do.
But, the values (Y axis) are not displayed at the correct place. I mean for instance the point with value 4K is displayed below the 3K Y axis marker...
And sometimes the point is displayed above as its real value...
So my graph is false, but my values are correct (I tested it)
Then what can I do? The graph can draw several lines as I managed to put more than one serie. The only problem is that they are not displayed properly...
(if you need the code I can show it)

Ok, I found what was wrong.
In the graph properties the subType field was set to LINE_VERT_STACK, then I changed it to default (LINE_VERT_ABS) and it worked.

  • Simple Line Chart - Values over time

A simple line chart displaying a set of values over time would seem to be a very easy report to design. I'll be darned if I can see how to design it. Can anyone shed some light?
I have provided links to a report and a spreadsheet which is the report datasource. My actual report will use SQL Server as its datasource. I am providing ths excel based example for the sake of protability. You will need to set the datasource location after saving the files to your hard drive.
I can get the lines to draw properly, what I cannot figure out is how to specify the datetime values for the x axis. The column I would like to use on the x-axis is called DerivedLoggingTime.
I'd also like to get control of the logarithmic algorithm used to formulate the y-axis values. I am not always happy with the values that the log algorithm comes up with.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    [Link to report|http://www.usol.com/~joe/linechart.rpt]
    [Link to spreadsheet|http://www.usol.com/~joe/AnalysisResults.xls]
Another discovery while working on this report - our database will be SQL 2008 and  we are making use of the datetime2 datatype. CR appears to be treating this datatype as text. So when working with the SQL based datasource, I had to cast datetime2 columns as datetime in order for CR to see the columns as datetime instead of text. This is fine in this instance because the granularity of the datetime values for this particular report does not require datetime2, but that will not always be the case. CR will need to recognize the new datatype.
Edited by: Joe Sytniak on Jul 17, 2008 5:37 PM

    Hi Joe,
The Date Axis Line Chart of the Numeric Axis Type Chart, can be used to display data on a regular interval of days, Months and Years. The information displayed can unfortunately not be more granular that days.
This type of chart is generally used when the data is recorded on irregular intervals in the database, and to make sense of the information stored it needs to be displayed at regular intervals.
Since the data stored in your data source seems to be stored every 4 minutes, it will not be necessary to use this type of chart. I will suggest to use the regular line chart instead.
To create a line chart using your date time field and value:
    1. Select "Chart" under the menu "Insert"
    2. Insert the chart on your report in the desired section.
        ( Group Header # 3 in your case. )
    3. In the "Chart Expert" window, under the tab "Type",
change the chart type to a line chart by selecting "Line" in
        the "Chart Type" list.
    4. Under the tab "Data", add the database field that contains the Date Time information under the "On change of" list.
(In your case, add the "DerivedLoggingTime" database field)
    5. To display the data for each minute, select the database fields you just added under the "On Change of" list, and
click on the button "Order". In the "Chart Sort Order" window,
select "For each minutes" in the "Section will be printed" drop down list, then click "OK"
    6. Add the field you want to display the value in the "Show Value List", then click "OK"
Now it will display a line chart as desired, but since there is a lots of data point on your chart, the x axis date time labels will overlap each other. To avoid  this situation, I will suggest to skip labels.
To format a chart to skip labels:
    1. In the "Preview" tab of the report, select one of the x axis label, and right click on it. In the contextual menu, select "Group (X) Axis Options..."
    2. In the "Group (X) Axis Settings" window, under the tab "Layout", check the option "Skip Group Labels" and set the value to 15 for example.
Now, it will display the date time label at every 15 data point.
As for your question on how get control of the logarithmic algorithm used to formulate the y-axis values, we unfortunately do not have much control over it other than:
    - Entering static values, or
    - Checking or Unchecking the option "Use Logarithmic scales"
The above options are available on the y axis. To change those options:
    1. In the "Preview" tab of the report, select one of the y axis label, and right click on it. In the contextual menu, select "Group (Y) Axis Options..."
    2. In the "Group (Y) Axis Settings" window, under the tab "Scales", you will see the following options:
    - Minimum Values
    - Maximum Values
    - Use Logarithmic scales
I will suggest to check the option "Use Logarithmic scales"
Finally, as for the issue you discovered where SQL Server 2008 data type DateTime2 is converted to a string in Crystal Reports 2008, it is important to note that SQL Server 2008 hasn't been released yet, therefore it has not been tested in Crystal Reports 2008. Once SQL Server 2008 is released, I will suggest to test it again using the ODBC driver provided with this new version.
At this point I am assuming that this is happening because it is a new data type and an unknown data type get converted to string.

  • I need my XY graph to plot all values it obtains, not one at a time.

When I use the XY graph and take the values from a global, it plots one point. Then when i enter in a new value to be graphed, it erases the one before it. How do I make all the values stay?

If your data is coming in one at a time, you can change the plot to Waveform Chart. Otherwise you will need to accumulate the x and y data into separate array then combine the two before plotting to XY graph. Also take a look at Variable-Time Chart XY example in LabVIEW help to see a scrolling XY Graph.

  • F-03 shows different values as compared to FBL3N

    Hi,
I have to clear the open items using F-03. But while doing so, the line item amounts are different than that of
FBL3N . What can be the reason of the same?
    Regards
    Rudra

    Dear:
Please check Note 136754. It says
    Problem:
When you call clearing transactions (F-03, F-32, F-44) in Financial Accounting, the system displays fewer open items than when you call up the line item display (FBL3, FBL5, FBL1).
    Solution:
Check some table fields in the missing documents using Transaction SE16. The following conditions must exist:
BSIS-XOPVW = X      (Indicator: Open item management, only for G/L                     accounts)
    BSEG-XOPVW = X      (Indicator: Open item management)
BSEG-AUGBL = space  (clearing document number)
BSEG-DISBN = space  (discount document number)
    BKPF-BSTAT = space  (document status)
BKPF-XSTOV = space  (indicator reversal flag)
    REGUS/REGUP -> see below
Should one or more conditions not exist, please note the following information:
          1. BSEG-XOPVW <> X or BSIS-XOPVW <> X for G/L account line items:
The line item presumably comes from a time before you activated the open item management of a G/L account. Documents before this master record change do not contain this technical information. Use report RFSEPA02 if you want to bring the documents in line with the new master record. You must refer to the documentation of this report.
Because there may be problems subsequently acivating open item management, RFSEPA02 was changed as of Release 4.5A so that it cannot be started without modifications. SAP wants to make sure you are familiar with the problems, which may result from activating open item management. You can however restart RFSEPA02 when you have deactivated the line:
                  leave program.
          2. BSEG-XOPVW <> X for open item account line items:
This data status is not allowed. Contact the SAP Hotline.
          3. BSEG-DISBN <> space.
The line item has already been used within bill of exchange accounting.
          4. BKPF-BSTAT <> space.
This is a document with a special function, for example a sample document or recurring entry document. Generally these are not taken into account in clearing transactions.
          5. BKPF-XSTOV <> space.
The document was flagged for reversal. Only if you cancel the reversal flag, can you clear the document again. You can do this by removing the planned date for the reverse posting (BKPF-STODT) in the document header using Transaction FB02 (Change document).
          6. REGUS/REGUP:
Look at table REGUS using Transaction SE16. Enter the account (KONKO) in the selection screen. If you selected an entry, use the information Run date (LAUFD) and Identification (LAUFI) in Transaction F110 (payment program). Check the status of the payment run. If only the proposal was carried out, the documents proposed for payment are blocked for other clearing transactions. It is only when you delete the proposal run that the items are taken into account again in the clearing transaction.

  • Creating multiple Line Graph having common values..

    Hi...
I've created one application process for creating Multiple Line Graph.

That is one surefire way to not get any help and certainly not urgently. I suggest that you amend the title of your post to something that reflects the actual issue. This will also help anyone with similar issues to find the thread.
When posting code please put {noformat}{noformat} (with the curly brackets and the word code in lower case) above and below it to preserve formatting like this...
    {noformat}{noformat}
    SELECT *
    FROM emp
    {noformat}{noformat}
This will be displayed on the forum like this...SELECT *
    FROM emp
