Question on creating users and icloud

I have noticed that my Macbook Pro will create its own user. I immediately deleted this user since I didn't create it and thought it was taken care of. Well, I turned on my computer again today and the user was created again, without my consent. My initial reaction is to think that this is a virus but I started using iCloud recently to share photos with my family and thought maybe using iCloud will create a user for some reason. This hasn't happened before in the 4 years I have owned the Macbook Pro. I updated to Mavericks so maybe something finally came through in the update. I really have no idea what is going on. All I am used to seeing when I turn on my computer is the administrator (me) and another user I created. Now there is a third user that has been created all by itself. Has anyone encountered this before? Any help would be appreciated!! Basically, I am stressed out because now I think I have a virus.

The Guest account is built-in. It has probably been activated again by a recent system update. Updates will sometimes reset the preference settings to default values. But I would keep the Guest Account active. This account cannot be used by remote users. And it is a nice honey pot, if you ever lose your Mac. If the thief will log in using the guest account, you can detect this with Find My Mac.
guest user: Guest users can use your computer temporarily without you having to add them as individual users. You can set restrictions guests can access only the items you want to share. Files created by a guest are stored in a temporary folder, but this folder and its contents are deleted when the guest logs out. The guest account works with the Find My Mac feature of iCloud, which can help you find your Mac if you lose it. You can locate your Mac if someone finds it, logs in as a guest, then uses Safari to access the Internet. Guests:
Don’t need a password to log in
Can’t change user or computer settings
Can’t log in remotely when remote login is turned on in Sharing preferences

1.You can create users from EAS console using maxl, if you have not externalized the users .
When we create using Maxl it will create for 'ESSBASE Servers' users but we want to create additional administrator users under 'Administrator Services' --> 'Users'. At the moment default 'Admin' users is created under 'Administrator Services' --> 'Users'.

1)i need to create a stand alone desktop application that creates users in oracle lite and that grants them access to a particular application, and then in the data subsetting to be able to enter the
parameter values. in the documentation ive only found the create user. are there any other sql commands that can perform the other operations or do i need to go manually and update all the tables in the schema of the administrator like for example tables USERS,C$ALL_CLIENTS, C$ALL_SUBSCRIPTION_PARAM etc?
the problem is that the create user , doesnt create an oracle lite user but a database user . i have oracle lite 10.3.0.2.0 with oracle db 11g at the back as the repository.

When you say a stand-alone desktop application... you mean a client application that is synchronized? You want to be able to add users to the device/database for example various shift workers?

5.1.4 Mobile Server User Privilege: Member
The Mobile Server user with privilege of member is created for accessing published applications and its data within the context of a single user. The member user is useful when you have multiple people using the same application and data (or subset of data) on a single device. This enables multiple people to share the device, application and data while logging in with their own username and password.
Multiple members can be created and associated with this user. Once a view is created on the client for the member, then the member can access the application and data of the user. Thus, the user is known as the data owner, since all synchronization initiated by a member is actually performed within the context of the user.
The member has the same privileges as a user. It provides a specific username/password for logging in and synchronizing the application from a device.
A member inherits access to the application, subscription and data subsetting parameters from its associated user. However, as the data owner, only the user can be used to download and install the Mobile client. Additionally, only the user can initiate the first synchronization. The member cannot access the application data directly, but through a view created on top of the data by the user.

See Section 5.3.1.2.1, "Define Username and Password" for conventions for creating the username or password.
If you modify a current user with privilege of Administrator, Organizer, or User to Member, then any associated devices for that user will be disabled when it is modified to privilege Member.
After creating the member, the administrator associates the member with one or more users.
For your second question, if you initiate a sync from the server, it will sync everything. You can only specify a selective sync from the client as part of your sync parameters.

Grant privileges and permission to user, to create user and database in 10g

I'm very much new to Oracle 10g database and after all my search, I think this forum will help me to solve my puzzle. Installed Oracle 10g database and during installation created a Global database "TestDB". I created an user "user1" in sqlplusw, by logging in as system.
Now I need to know, what privileges and permissions should be given to this "user1", so that I can create new users and create database by logging as "user1". I don't want to Inherit all the sytem privileges of SYSTEM or SYSDBA or SYS or SYSOPER.
Is there a way where I could achieve this by explicitly granting the required privileges and permissions

You may need to know all the views to get the privilege information.

RFC - Receiver create Customer (Cannot see created user and created time)

My scenario is JDBC - XI - RFC to create/change customer master. My problem happens with customer created/changed by RFC. When I look at administrative data of customer master, created by and created date are empty. http://www.imagecross.com/07/image-hosting-view-11.php?id=53673.png My requirement is that log on user which i input in receiver cc of RFC in ID should be used as created user in customer master and created date should also be updated too.
Any solution for this? Is there any configuration in XI required or may be a guideline for using ABAP in RFC to do this?

Hi Shahbaz, the easiest way is to go under system administrator responsibility with an admin username/password.
Menu
1 - Under Applications sub menu, choose menu
2 - As always, give it a name and choose seeded sub menu since you only seem to want to see it work.
3 - Save.
Responsibility
1 - Under security sub menu, create a new responsibility by filling the mandatory field.
2 - Assign menu you created previously
3 - Assign request group for reporting purpose
etc.
4 - Save
User
1 - Under Security Sub menu, you can first create a user giving a name and a password.
2 - In the botton section, you can assign a responsibility to this user. Click into the field and look at seeded responsability or the one you created.
3 - Save
4 - Log off / Log on with new username and you should see it.

Hi everyone. I connected to database as SYSTEM and created new user (Tom):
CREATE USER Tom IDENTIFIED BY Tom
Then using SQL Developer tried to connect to the database as Tom and got error, that Tom lacks CREATE SESSION privilege. How to give him it?

You need to give a certain quota to that user, or that role. For example,
ALTER USER <username> QUOTA UNLIMITED ON <tablespace_name>;
You can also specifiy a set amount in place of the unlimited keyword.
ALTER USER <username> QUOTA 500M ON <tablespace_name>;
If you create a role, then assign the privileges to that role you can group your privileges together. When you create a new user just assign the role to the user. You can then just add privileges or remove them from the role and this will take affect for all the users that have that role.
