Question on Page reload/refresh

How to reload/refresh the page after changing the value of an item.
I have two items in one page. First one is VAR1 as date picker and second item is VAR2. The value of the VAR2 is going to populate based on the date value selected in VAR1.
Example: If 07/13/2004 in VAR1 ; VAR2 is to be populated as 704.
If I changed the value of VAR1, VAR2 is going to be re-calculated automatically

Yes, as the error message says, you need to define a same-page branch. When a page is submitted, after all the processing is done, branches are evaluated to determine which page to go to next. Click on the + next to Branches on the Page Definition screen to create a branch.

Spry tabs shouldn't open before page reload/refresh

I have a big problem.I said "big problem".Because it has stolen my days/weeks.I have tab panel(5-6 tabs). When i clicked any tab, naturally content doesn't reload page.At the point i added url's end ?tab=0, for example : myprofile.php?tab=1.Now i clicked a tab and reload page.But when i clicked a tab, firstly tab display later page reload.This situation is unpleasant.I want to open when i clicked tab, after reload page, show tabs contents.I have looked for it for days.But i couldn't find.

Page reload/refresh after printing Oracle report.

I have upgraded from version 3.0.1 to version 4.0.1 and I am having an issue.
I have a page with a tabular form (SQL Query - updateable report) which allows me
to select items I want to print.
The report looks like the following:
Name          Print
Template 1     Y/N
Template 2     Y/N
Template 3     Y/N
Template 4     Y/N
The print column is a static LOV with a 'Y' or 'N' option.When I submit the page, a MRU runs and sets a flag for each item I want to print in the database.
It then branches using "Branch to URL Identified by Item (Use Item Name)". The URL specifies an Oracle report
server and the oracle report to print.
All this works fine and the items that were selected, print out. An Oracle Reports Job Status is displayed
on screen (this originates from the oracle report server) to indicate that it has "successfully run" along with
an OK button. The OK button contains the following code: javascript:history.back()
A process also exists on the page ("On Load - Before Regions") that resets any flags that were set in the database
when the page is loaded and so the report will displays all N's in the Print column.
Now my problem is that in version 3.0.1 when I hit the OK button it would return to the page in the apex
application that branched to the oracle report and the page would be reloaded, where as in version 4.0.1
the page is not reloaded.
Any ideas how to fix this or can someone suggest a new way of achieving the same result.

Hi Prabodh,
I have used Debug mode and I see 2 debug entries added.
The first is just displaying all the page defaults - (I think the page gets reloaded when you select debug from the developer menu)
The second is the SUBMIT request and it shows the initial value of the hidden item (ie null) and then where I changed its value (ie Y).
The problem is, it does not list an entry for the page when it returns from the Report Status page, so I have no way of knowing if anything is
changing its value. I even changed code to set the item to N instead of null and then to Y on submit. But when I return from the Status page
the value remains at N, even though if I check the Session State values it will say Y. The only conclusion I can come to is that it is using the
cached values and effectively just displaying the values set before I submit the page.
I have been playing around with iFrames and it seems to work the way I want.
I created a new Page (5), then a HTML region. Within the HTML region i have the following code

</table>I also create a button (Return) + branch and on submit will return to page 1.
From page 1, instead of branching to a URL, I now branch to page 5. This loads the Report Status page into my iFrame and indicates that it was
successful, but now instead of using the OK button within the status page I use the Return button that is part of the Apex application.
This way I no longer need the javascript or hidden items to try refresh the page , it will be done automagically once the return button is pressed.
I know it may not look great but it is the only solution I can get to work at the moment.

Stupid question, I know, but after years of using Firefox, on this one I can't find the Page Reload icon?? Please help.

In the past, when I want to refresh a page, I've simply gone to the page reload icon on the toolbar. On the new version, I can't fin the reload icon. Sorry I know this is a very stupid question,, but I just can't find that reload icon. The toolbar is a lot different from previous versions, but I'm sure tht pesky icon must be there somewhere!!

You could also benefit from the looking at the article on [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-customize-toolbars customizing the tool bar]. That will show you not only how to verify that you have the refresh button, but give you options on where it lives as well.

Auto Reload/Refresh of page or content

I am a newb to Edge Animate and coding in general. I am developing a mobile web page with text on it. I need to update the text and have users see the updated text without having to reload/refresh the page themselves. Is there a way to have the page auto-refresh or another way to ensure people see the updated text if they already have the page loaded on their device?

Robohelp - main page loops/refreshes continously when using Firefox

All,
I have read through all of the posts and unfortuantely I have not been able to find a solution to my problem.
Problem: When accessing online help in Firefox, the main page loads for the most part but before it's complete, it reloads the main page again. This looping process is endless (main page reloading) and if I click on any links, the link will start to load and then main page starts to loads agan and again... When I access online help via IE, I do not experience the same problem. In IE, the main page loads and online help functions correctly. Ironically, another online help was created for a different product that is hosted on the same machine (linux) but when i access that help, i do not experience the looping problem.
I am using Firefox version 3.6.
Things that I have tried to fix the problem:
access online help in Firefox (safe mode)
use default theme
access online help in version 1.5 or 2.0 in firefox
change the page encoding
disable all plug-ins
I have also compared all of the javasript files from the working help and the problematic one and for the most part, everything is the same. The working help has 9 more js files but i think its because its context sensitive (not sure).
One way that I can stop the page from looping is by changing the encoding in the browser. No matter what its set to, if i change it and refresh the page, the looping stops but the Search field does not appear and after a short period of time, the pages doesnt respond.

You are correct Peter. The file is sent to me in a zip format. I have unzipped it and placed its contents in a folder. I accessed the .htm page that you asked me to. It works fine (locally).
To clarify -
I am experiencing the problem when i access online help from the application and by directly entering the url in firefox.
The other version that was developed for another product works correctly when i enter in the url in firefox and access the link directly. I do not have access to the application to navigatie from within it to online help but i am pretty sure that it works fine also.

Periodical refresh of data on page or refresh on command?

I have a start page in my application that displays data from a couple of iterators. This page is intended mainly to navigate to some tasks on this data but the task depends on the data itself. So I must ensure, that when the user clicks on a command link (let's saj in a table column) the data on that table is refreshed. I've been thinking about some functionality that would cause the data on the page to refresh periodically since there is also a picture displaying current positions of some transport units (either is there or it isn't, I don't need any real-time refreshing). Second option is to somehow refresh the needed iterator when user clicks the row since sometimes it happens that a user clicks on the link of the row but when the task is started the data is not from the row he clicked on but of a completely different record since there was some data change from another user that caused different row order in that table.
Please let me know what is the best way to deal with my requirement and if periodical refresh is OK, how to implement periodical refresh of the page or if concidering this advice: http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2005/06/16/whyIsntRefreshingTheBrowserPageEnoughToRefreshTheDataDisplayed.html - refresh all iterators on the page.

When I sign into or out of Gmail - many other pages automatically refresh. How do I stop this?

I hate automated things, when it's NON consensual and it's part of some automated bullshit trip.
I might have half finished texts on the other open tabs, or what ever, but it's MY bandwidth to chew up on things I see fit, not the people of Mozilla, or Google or whoever.
And while the account page is gmail, that I am signing into or out of, the other pages are NOT google pages either.
I think the designers of the "refresh / automatic refresh" should be shot - because the reason I have a PAGE (tab) open, is because I want to access THAT page, and not a later version of it...
This auto-reload / refresh of some tabs absolutely annoys the piss out of me, because I did not ask for it, and there is NO apparently easy up front way to stop it from happening - which I also think is one of the best way to alienate users of a product - by building in a host of idiot functions with NO control over them.
So how do i stop this from happening?

If you mean how to make the page reload when someone pushes a button or clicks an action component such as a hyperlink, then have that component's action method return null. To create the action method for a component, double click the component in the Visual Designer.
To make the page reload after someone selects from a drop-down or list, or when the user changes the value in an input text field, right-click that component and choose Auto-Submit on Change.

Recent update OS10.5 to 10.6 to Lion. Using Pages (4.1) only some documents won't open. At Genius bar loaded new copy Pages; reloaded Lion clean install. Still won't open although will on another computer. What now?

I got Pages to work now- there were two versions, one Universal, and one Intel- by moving the Universal to trash ( although I can't delete it) and moving Intel version to iWorks folder in Applications, it is now working. Doesn't explain why it didn't work though- the other MacBook pro 17 inch that could open all the Pages documents also has two copies of Pages as I see now....
I still however can't open Numbers documents on the MacBook pro 15 inch.... it is a Universal version of Numbers.

How to keep user enter value in textbox even if JSP page get refreshed.

if user enter some value in Text Box and after that user clicks on some radio button becouse of some action on radio button page get refresh and also the value enter by user in text box get vanish.
I want keep text box value as it is even if page get refreshed becouse of some action.
Is it any setting in Strust framework for this.
I am using Struts Framework.

Sorry, I don't clearly understand the question and the horrible code (Java code doesn't belong in JSPs) doesn't make it more easy to understand.
Best what I can guess is that you need to learn about passing request parameters/attributes in JSP and the possibilty of storing attributes in the session. And based on the code, also learn how to separate the data, business and presentation layers properly.

Reload/Refresh WCC header

I am trying to reload/refresh UCM header after the specified amount of time.
I created simple custom component and add jQuery function to <@dynamichtml std_html_head_definition_declarations@> in component resource file.
In the same resource file in <@dynamicdata CoreMenuItems@> I added link in menu_c (next to logout) which label returning custom idoc function result
(e.g. for test I used <$CURRENT_DATE$>).

Link to anchor in swf / page reload

I want to link to a frame label from html text below my swf.
For example:

I want that to refresh the page and then jump to the frame "bostonmap" when i click the link. Right now, when I click it, the url changes but the page does not reload. Is there a way to force the reload?

This is not really true that you could only do this in Javascript. You could do this in many languages like PHP as well, where you would make the link to yourpage.php?part=anchorname and that would force a page reload, then you could test the variable name and redirect with PHP to yourpage.php#anchorname.
There are tons of ways you could do this. I would highly recommend staying away from anything that forces a user to have javascript enabled, and handle it with some server side language, that you know will not fail in this instance.

Connection Partially encrpted causing page to refresh rapidly.

We are logging on to a site that we need in order to do business but we are having issues.
Initially we were getting a shield next to the back button. We would try to click the shield and disable but the page would still repeatedly reload. I did a little digging and with to about:config and disabled the mixed content security options. This removed the shield but the page still refreshed rapidly (100+x a minute). To get to the page I needed, I needed to log in, then on the next page click a button. Once on that page there were no issues. The page after logging in is where the refreshing was happening. There was a security window that came up near the back button. after clicking on it it told me that the connection is partially encrypted. Another window also told me that this website does not supply ownership info and it was verified by Not Specified. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling FF. What should my next steps be.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
