Question on rectangle with graph and table

i inserted the graph chart and table in a rectangle for similar values... but when i see the preview of this scenario... its showing seperately.... its mean that first showing the rectangle and then graph and then table in the preview page. when i saved
it into PDF; both chart and table are coming in same rectangle.
can any one please give a quick response to this.

Hi  Nagalinga,
Based on my understanding, you create a chart and table with same values, then you use a rectangle to contain them. When previewing the report, rectangle, chart, table displays separately. However, when exporting to PDF, the chart and table display in a
same rectangle.
In Reporting Service, rectangles can be used as containers to help control the way data regions render in a report. However, a rectangle is only a container for items that you either create in the rectangle or drag into the rectangle. If you draw a rectangle
around an item that already exists on the design surface, the rectangle will not act as its container. So in your scenario, I suppose you create a chart and table then draw a rectangle around them, rectangle, chart and table will display separately when previewing
report. As we tested in our environment, we create a chart and table with same values, then drag them into a rectangle, the chart and table both display in a rectangle whether we preview the report or render the report as PDF. Please refer to the screenshots

    One thing I forgot to mention: If you're an 8i client, then in

    since it'll generate these wrappers for you.

  • Question on using CAST, MULTISET and TABLE

    Hi,
    I am trying to do something that is utterly meaningless, but I am studying the use of CAST with MULTISET and TABLE.
    I have created a type: a Nested Table of Number values:
    create type numTable as table of number;
    Now I perform the following query:
    select d.dname
    , ( select avg(column_value)
    from table
    ( cast( d.salaries as numTable)
    ) Department_Avg_Salary
    from ( select cast
    ( multiset
    ( select e.sal
    from emp e
    where e.deptno = d1.deptno
    ) as numTable
    ) salaries
    , d1.dname
    from dept d1
    ) d
    I had expected to see each department name and the average salary within that department. Instead, I see the same Department_Avg_Salary value for each row - the average of the first department:
    DNAME DEPARTMENT_AVG_SALARY
    ACCOUNTING 1875
    RESEARCH 1875
    SALES 1875
    OPERATIONS 1875
    However, when I change the query to the following:
    select d.dname
    , d.salaries
    from ( select cast
    ( multiset
    ( select e.sal
    from emp e
    where e.deptno = d1.deptno
    ) as numTable
    ) salaries
    , d1.dname
    from dept d1
    ) d
    I get the following result - note that each department shows the correct list of salaries, not the list of the 1st department's salaries over and over.
    DNAME
    SALARIES
    ---------------------------------------------------------ACCOUNTING
    NUMTABLE(2450, 1300)
    RESEARCH
    NUMTABLE(800, 2975, 3000, 5000, 1100, 3000)
    SALES
    NUMTABLE(1600, 1250, 1250, 2850, 1500, 950)
    OPERATIONS
    NUMTABLE()
    Can someone explain why the
    , ( select avg(column_value)
    from table
    ( cast( d.salaries as numTable)
    ) Department_Avg_Salary
    does not give an average per department but instead only the first department's average?
    thanks for your help!

  • What is the best font to be used in graphs and tables?

    I want to know what is the best font (or the most used) for discoverer10g graphs and tables.
    I used Arial, Dialog, Veranda, 7, 8, 9 but it seems that there is a space between letters especially on the graph. I’m looking for a font that does not have this space between letters.
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi,
    Any font holds good,depends on the choice of the individual user.

  • View Selector - Switch issue between Graph and Table Data

    Hi:
    We have created the report with both Table view and Chart View. Both of them has been added to the View Selector and added to the Dashboard. While performing the testing we found that sometimes the Switch between the views are not happening. Meaning when we try to switch from Chart View to Table View, the View changes in the drop down but the original Graph to table will not switch. In order to make that happen we need to try 3 or 4 times across the drop downs from Table to Chart and then chart to table.
    Did any one face the similar issue. Any suggestions or insights on this.
    Please help.
    Thanks & Regards
    Sunil Kumar T.S.

    hey there RAM,
    here are a few tips...
    1. what is the table field with the right value? and is this table field in the *itm extractor?
    2. can you include this field into the extractor?
    3. could it be a calculated value?
    hope this helps.

  • Simple test case with NL and table order .

    Hi,
    did some tests on my 9.2.0.8 and got few questions:

    SQL> select count(*)  from c;

    SQL> select count(*) , id from c group by id having count(*) > 1;
      COUNT(*)         ID

    SQL> desc c
               Name
        1      ID number
        2      FILLER varchar2(100)
    Got 10046 traces:
    case A
    select /*+ use_nl(p) leading(c) */ *
    from
    p , c where p.id = c.id and c.id in (10)

        100    INDEX RANGE SCAN C_ID (object id 411255)So its simple nested loop with postponed inner table access .
    Why in row source operation we have got 102 rows (NL level) ? (It means NL was executed 102 times ?)
    And why 201 in other case ?
    Regards
    GregG

    I am not sure about the calculation/reason for those A-ROWS figures but the NL operation executes only once (but accesses inner rowsource 100 times in case one and once in second case) in both cases (which is as expected).
    A closer test case (to OP) is

  • How to show one prompt that works for both Graph and Table views?

    Have an analysis with a graph and a table. The information in the table and graph are different so cannot use a pivot table w/graph.
    Each view has a view prompt for Year and Month (tried both separately and also as one combined column ‘201001’) so user can easily change months.
    Too much data to use the slider because it will not graph.
    Page prompt does not allow user to switch dates easily.
    Since this will be a link from a dashboard, do not think making this a dashboard from a dashboard would be good so not a dashboard prompt.
    Saw something about Master Detail linking, but does not appear to work with graph prompts.
    How would the analysis be configured to show one prompt that works for both the Table and the Graph?
    One prompt would change both the table and the graph.

    Master Detail Linking almost works.
    Table view can show all the results without error.
    Graph view needs to be limited or errs with "Exceeded configured maximum number of allowed input records."
    Is there a way to set the initial Master Detail Linking value to the top sorted value?

  • What is the difference between READ TABLE ITAB WITH KEY  and  TABLE KEY

    Hi Experts,
    what is the difference between
    READ TABLE <ITAB> WITH KEY <K1> = <C1>
                                                    <Kn> = <Cn> .
    and
    READ TABLE <ITAB> WITH TABLE KEY <K1> = <C1>
                                                              <Kn> = <Cn> .
    Thanks
    Akash.

    Hi akashdeep,
    Nice question. I also tried to find out, but no much success. My opinion is that for practical purposes there is no difference.
    It may have difference in case of searching, especially sorted tables. (binary search or normal linear search).
    Case1: If our table is sorted table with defined key fields, and we give WITH TABLE KEY, then faster binary search is used.
    Case2 : If our table is sorted table with defined key fields, and we give WITH  KEY, (and no field contained in the keys), then normal linear search is used.

  • Using expdp to export a mix of tables with data and tables without data

    Hi,
    I would like to create a .dmp file using expdp, exporting a set of tables with data and another set without data. Is there a way to do this in a single .dmp file? For example, I want all the tables in a schema with data, but for the fact tables in that schema, I only want the fact table objects, not the data. I thought it might be easier to create two separate .dmp files, one for each scenario, but would be nice to have one .dmp file that satisfies my requirement. Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    -Rodolfo

    You could do this with where clauses. Let's say you have 10 tables to export, 5 with data and 5 without data. I would do it like this
    tab1_w_data
    tab2_w_data
    tab3_w_data
    tab4_w_data
    tab5_w_data
    tab1_wo_data
    tab2_wo_data
    tab3_wo_data
    tab4_wo_data
    tab5_wo_data
    I would make one generic query
    query="where rownum = 0"
    and I would make 5 specific queries
    query=tab1_w_data:"where rownum > 0"
    query=tab2_w_data:"where rownum > 0"
    query=tab3_w_data:"where rownum > 0"
    query=tab4_w_data:"where rownum > 0"
    query=tab5_w_data:"where rownum > 0"
    The first query will be applied to all tables that don't have their own specific query and it will export no rows, the next 5 will apply to each of the corresponding table.

  • I need to make a report with graphs, and generate an exit file to word

    I have to do the acquisition for a laboratory and to make inmediately a report with graphics and a constant test about the method of the experimentation

    Probably your best bet is to use ActiveX and control Word from LabVIEW, this way, you can act as you were using Word directly, automating all the steps to create your report. Look for examples in the developer zone, although there will be more examples relating Excel, that can show you the way to act. If you need to use this intensively, i think NI has created a Word toolokit that you can buy.
    For any particular question, just ask.
    Good luck

  • Beginners question about creating first database and tables

    Hi all,
    i recently have installed 10g express edition, because i want to transform my php-script from mysql to oracle database. (due to the fact that mysql is "not allowed sofware" at the company i work for).
    it is a quit small script, just a shift-report system, build because of frustration about an used shift report system based on excel sheets. Company likes it, but IT-department rejected it, because it is myssql. They do own a lot of oracle servers, so they set up a database for me, got a username and password.(Tnsnames entry). The rest i have to do by myself, no further support from IT department.
    I have made 2 simple php functions to connect to database:
    // for connection home server:
    function conn()
         $user = 'user';
         $password = 'password';
         $conn = oci_connect($user, $password, 'localhost/XE');
         return $conn;
    // for connection at work:
    function Xconn()
         $db = '(DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = xxx.eu.xxx.com)(PORT = 1521))
        (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = NVGPP)))';
         $user = 'xxxxxxxx';
         $password = 'xxxxxxx';
         $conn = oci_connect($user, $password, $db);
         return $conn;
    }I just add or remove X character before function name, for use at home or at work.
    both do work fine.
    First thing i wanted to do, is to create my database and tables.

    How do i create this database and tables?
    after googling i read something about schema owners, but cant find anything about how to copy my mysql database/tables to oracle.
    Please, help is really appreciated by me.

    Translating from mysql to Oracle will need a bit of fixups for the DDL, once an oracle instance is created, set up and running, you won't create a database but you will have a database user or users that create/own a collection of tables, indexes, functions, procedures, etc.
    It will take a bit of pouring through the oracle documentation to get those table create statements to work, i.e. the engine=, charset=, auto_increment items won't succeed, datatypes need adjustments, the tic marks around the entity names aren't necessary, quite a few other items from the mysql data definition language don't have an oracle equivalent.

  • Adobe Interactive forms with Graph and Japanese text

    Hi Experts,
    I want to use graph/bar/pie chart with Adobe Interactive forms and along with that the UI element's(Button,lable,table header,column) text has to be in Japanese language.
    Is it possible using Adobe interactive form ?
    Thanks in advance.

    I don´t understand. Where do you want the Japanese texts? In the ordinary fields? Then you have to use (of course install first) some Japanese fonts for the fields. If you would like to have the texts in the picture, then there is no problem with the form since the texts are coming as a part of the picture into the form and you don´t need any fonts. Of course you need to install/ configure the japanese fonts in the backend to be able to draw it into the picture.

  • Question in ER_DESIGN with VARCHAR2 and CLOB

    hi experts,
    i want to know in your design experience, how do you manage thus situation:
    a text field, which must have features of full-text search for all the text, normally, it should be less than 4000 character long, (it means we can use varchar2 field for it),
    however, sometimes it should longer than 4000 characters.
    i think, i could have two options,
    the first, i cut it into peices with no one can be longer than 4000, nevertheless, this method will face difficult to provide full-text search.
    the other is to build a new table with clob field, the original table will involve a field of varchar2, the other field of number will be a reference guild the the clob table.
    if the record's text long do not over 4000, it will record in the field of varchar2 as usual, once it is longer than 4000, it will be stored in the clob field in other table.i can get it with the guild field(index).
    so i can provide full-text search functions for this type of record, and much storage space can be saved.
    However, i do not know whether i am doing on a right way or in a foolish way, may be some other wise method can do simply . that what i want to question on you.
    thank you very much.

    No, I don't have tables of values. I have a java 1.5 enumeration, like for instance:
    public enum VelocityConvention {
       RELATIVISTIC,
       REDSHIFT;
    }and a class Velocity that contains a convention and a value like so:
    public class Velocity {
       public VelocityConvention getConvention() {...}
       public double getValue() {...}
       public void set(VelocityConvention conv, double value) {...}
    }When I persist the Velocity class to the database, I want a field called convention that holds the appropriate value of the enumeration. That much is done how I explained before.
    I want to have a selectOneMenu for setting the convention. Via trial and error, I found that MyFaces wasn't able to automatically convert from a string back to a proper VelocityConvention enum constant. It can, of course, convert from the enum to a string because it just calls toString(). But I need both directions for any UIInput element I use, be it a selectOne, or just a straight inputText.

  • Problem with Sections and Table of Contents

    I have just purchased pages. Both my iMac and MacBook have Lion. I do not have the "sections" button on the toolbar. When I open the "inspector" and try to insert a Table of Contents, the "paragraph styles" pane is empty. How can I correct these problems as I would like to use pages for a family story

    You have started your document with a Page Layout template. TOC doesn't work with text boxes. You need to use a Word Processing document and have the text in the main text layer.
    In the New from Template Chooser you can see the types in the left side bar.

  • Problem with dg4msql and table-valued functions

    Have configured dg4msql to connect from my oracle db to ms sql server.
    Am able to do simple SELECTs from ms sql tables like:
    select * from "sys"."procedures"@dg4msql;
    or

    In both cases I get:

    It does not like the parameters portion of the query ("('param1value')")

    Have tried the other set of params:

    Same story. After changing the init*** file have bounced both Listeners (DB and Gateway), reconnected, and re-run the query.
    Have I missed something?

    The Oracle Database Gateway for SQL Server provides support for stored procedures which return result sets.
    By default, all stored procedures and functions do not return a result set to the user. To enable result sets, set the HS_FDS_RESULTSET_SUPPORT parameter value to TRUE.

    Somewhere in this forum I've seen a message that the syntax "SELECT ... FROM sp@db(param1, param2)" works.
    Anyway, even with the PL/SQL block the error message is the same - ORA-00933 "SQL command not properly ended"
    and the cursor (* in SQL*PLUS) is put just at the first bracket.
