I have few questions that bothering me, I appreciate if you could answer -
1. I have IDOC-XI-File Scenario.
A. I know how to configure R/3 to send IDOC to XI, and then XI-File configuration. I did not know How to handle acknowledgment to update the status records on sending IDOC in this scenario? I read how-to doc on acknowledgment, it assumes the receiving party is also on R/3 where they configured AUDIT to send response from receiving party. But this case is receiving party is non-SAP Application.
B. If the file IDOC is configured to send Purchase Order collectively, assume it has million records, and records related to same PO are not in SEQ order.
If we define ccBPM Scenario to correlate by PO, does it take one PO and process all records against one PO and starts with another PO? How does it work internally, I am curious on performance point of view.
3. File-XI-R/3(IDOC) Scenario.
If the file has records with different structure, we advised to use module conversion. Even with I do not understand how the mapping enabled with relevant record structure? How does it work? I read how-to guide on this module conversion, it only explained on how to use module conversion part, does not include mapping part
4. When we use trace logging code in java functions (As developer), how to post the system.out steps onto Developer machine for easy debugging? We are forced to use log viewer to point to central logging file?

1. Since I only have one modem, one account, etc I would set the AEX using WDS, right?

2. I believe I read somewhere that WDS ?halves? the connection speed of ALL devices on the network?
Yes each WDS link cuts the available wireless bandwidth in half.
3. I don't want the AEX on all the time for both power draw reasons and longevity (as well as minimzing any performance impacts from WDS when not in use). Are there any problems with keeping it plugged into a power strip and turning it off when not in use? This is obviously the same as just unplugging it, so I was curious if it "tends not to do well" in those situations or if it could care less.
Shouldn't cause a big problem.
4. AEX as a portable wireless station means I could be in a hotel, plug an ethernet cable into the AEX, configure the AEX to be a base station then I'd have wireless in my room?
Yes. The AirPort Express (AX) doesn't know if it is at home or in a hotel. The setup and operation is the same.

I have a question about General Data Selection in Report Painter

Please help me out. Thi is the question....here it goes.
In a Report in ReportPainter, I have in the General Data Selection the following selected characteristics. They are:
Ledger = 0
Record Type = 0
Version = 1
Fiscal Year = Z-ANOACT
Period = (1CPERIV, 1CPERIB)
So that we have the next screen in the Reports execution.
Fiscal Year : 2006
From Period : 1
To Period : 12
Note:
*Z-ANOACT = Variable so that with a user-exit calculates the actual year. Right now is 2006.
*1CPERIV = This From-Period Variable is referenced to CCSS Table and PERBL Field Name. Its default value is 1.
*1CPERIB = This To-Period Variable is referenced to CCSS Table and PERBL Field Name.
Its default value is 12. Rigth now, we are in the fiscal month 5 (November).
Id like to filtrate information from January,2006,Period:07 to November,2007,Period:05.
I mean I work with the fiscal calendar because the information to get from the table is saved due to this calendar.
The Fiscal Calendar is from July to June:

I cannot do it with the criteria selection cited above because I only have a year and a range of periods and my end-user doesnt want to run my report twice:
One run with periods 7 to 12, 2006 and
Another run with periods 1 to 5, 2007 and then to add the 2 reports in excel to form a report.
Hed like something in my screen like this

Question about GENERAL WORKFLOW FOR DELIVERING DOLBY 5.1 FILE

what I have usually done with my videos is to export omf to logic , and mixed in 5.1, from there i bounce in multichannel audio file, and open it i compressor and create there my AC3 file.
is that all to get a professional accepted DOLBY DIGITAL FILE AUDIO file?
what is real professional workflow used in feature films and main studios? I SEE hardwares around as dolby e etc
please help me to clear my confusion

I've tried this myself and have had no luck with the resulting blu-ray 5.1 mix. When I import a 5.1 AC3 file into Encore as an asset and create a new Audio track, or when I open a Premiere CS5 project with a 5.1 master audio track and use dynamic link to send it to Encore, it always mixes it down as a stereo blu-ray.
I have the SurCode plug in activated as well. The blu ray file folder "STREAM" contains a file that I've tried importing into Premiere and when you look at the audio track it's always stereo, never 5.1

Wired/wireless traffic general question

I originally set up my Airport Extreme without much expertise on WiFi or routers, but I want to raise my knowledge base now.
My current question: In general operation with both ethernet and wireless clients, obviously all the traffic with wireless clients is broadcast over RF to anything out there that can receive them, but is any of the traffic between the base station and the ethernet clients also broadcast over the RF signal? To put it another way, can eaves dropping on the RF traffic also allow eaves dropping on the ethernet traffic?
Are there any good educational books like a Missing Manual or such on WiFi or Airport?

A lot of very interesting aspect of "others experience w/airport". I'm also in a suburb w/a lot of WiFi, other variation's of the same, and Airport traffic. One early concern I had was the Rf-AP system starting up, as it does right out of the box. Not knowing this, (at least at first) was for me an embarrassing wake-up call. As for near-by WiFi/and other "dish, etc" systems, A few thing's I noticed, and thanks to associate's who know WiFi/Rf tech very well, a few observations, for what it's worth. Regarding "Ghosting" of certain signals, it is almost inevitable for many reasons. It's a bit like (usually and harmlessly) being at a crowded party, where you "hear" many people jabbering away, but don't really know "what they're saying, other then 'something."
Oddly enough, I have an associate who calls that (a bit like a cheap hearing aid) "Rf, or harmonic din". As for it being problematic from a security point-of-view one needs to isolate "sections" from one "broadcast" which I'm told is rather low tech, as a first step to having one "borrow your specific signal,' for say either sub-Walmart (cheap bas******) access to the net thanks to your WiFi AP. As you mentioned, w/so much depending on the chronic pain that's all based on passwords, well, we know the issue w/that.
Several aspects of trying to maintain some dignity in not getting hacked for whatever intent present repeated problems. I was hacked, and it was (unfortunately not benign). Believe me. Since , I have done everything short of active EW suppression (FTC, and anyone in range would be understandably ******-off.) Your comment about "flat signal strength" I'm told is screaming, "I'm blending in, move on." Varying sig strength is one way to blend in yourself, but only a bit.
But WiFi signal structure has certain quiescent properties reported in the literature (I read it on physorg.com, or technology review I think) that makes that soft engulfing-Rf nature of WiFi useful, Ex: for those who want to know, or really just be aware "someone, a pet", etc; who is moving around a room, compared w/the stuff in a room, building, etc. That attribute provide's a technical/mathematical yardstick that is at least one reproducible and exploitable aspect of the technology. As with that noisy background "party din," it's why noise in general can be cut through as long as you get even a small piece of a conversation.
I've looked at passive material "blankets" that smother Rf. Certain conductive polymer's woven in the density of a gym mat are somewhat useful if its something serious enough. Naturally, (pricey) and by no means perfect. Beyond that one can use old power company techniques developed to know where a line goes down, for example if using a hard line. Since ac can be modulated, it can also be run through what looks like a small old desk-top pc cpu tower. ****, anyone can buy a plugin, looks a small 120vt-12v transformer you plug in the wall ac, and that turns ones household wiring into a local, house/office Rf wireless network.
In the end it can get surreal, silly, paranoid. or just sad. Been there too. Anyway, best of luck. Bob.

Some General iPhone 4 questions

We just bought my wife a used iPhone 4 and (a little late now) we have some questions.
Generally the questions revolve around the issues the iPhone 4 had when they were first released - something about the antennae location. How was that resolved? and if so how?
Is there a way to determine when an iPhone was manufactured or how old it is?
I see in the forum 'refined' lineup there are iPhone 4 forums for both GSM and CDMA - where is that shown on the iPhone?
The primary issue we are having is with signal strength. Since it's 'hers' I only hear about it so don't get much chance to see for myself.

offset account from form settings.

In the Standard Reports, you cannot add a new column.
As mentioned by me earlier, please check 'Offset Account Name' column in the Form Settings if the same is of help in your case.
You can check Note No. [1045356|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1odSZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=1045356] regarding the issue. The same has been fixed in 2005 A PL23.

Magic Values - A Question of Development Approach

Hello folks,
I have a question for you PL/SQ developers out there. This isn't a specific problem or query I'm raising here, more a question of general approach. I'm probably not using the correct terms here so forgive me. Also, I've already posted this in the ApEx forum, however there's a degree of overlap into pure PL/SQL so I thought you were all bound to have experience of something along the same lines.
Anyhoo...
How to deal with Magic values - i.e. values which hold no intrinsic value in and of themselves, other than for state, process or conditional logic control. I use them quite a lot in my PL/SQL code (as I'm sure most developers do in one context or another).
From a Data architecture perspective, I'll generally have some sort of table for storing the 'facts': names, addresses etc, etc. Any application-specific magic values ('status', 'type') will be held as a foreign key in this table, which will reference a form of lookup table.
Example:

Now, say I have a process that needs to reference someone's emotional state for some sort of conditional logic:

I'm effectively defining the same value twice: once in the lookup table (for data integrity) and once in the package. If new values are defined (say "Existential Ennui") or existing values are changed, I need to make sure the two are aligned, which hinders maintainability.
I thought about initialising the values as sort of pseudo-constants in the package initialise code but then you end up replacing one literal with another; you end up with code like:

So... how to deal with this? What approach to you take? Does data integrity over-ride application programming style?

I had a look through the article (8 year's worth of thread? Sheesh that's dedication!) and yet it doesn't quite express exactly what I'm meaning. The argument there appears to be between dynamic SQL with bind variables versus static SQL. I'm not talking dynamically building queries or the use of bind variablers per se - its more related to how one makes use of magic values within the context of conditional logic and application code.
The example I chose happened to use a case statement, which maybe blurs the line with the syntax of pure SQL query and perhaps why you thought I was going down the dynamic SQL route, but I could just have easily replaced them with a series of 'if elsif else end' type expressions.
From an application developer point of view, the mantra of 'abstraction through constants' is the norm - referencing literals in expressions is generally frowned upon, with the possible exception of special numbers such as 1 or 0 (for incrementing counters, referring to the start of arrays etc, etc). One only has to look at the work of Feuerstein to see this - time and again in his books, the concept of delegating constant values (and subtypes) to well-defined areas (the "Single Source of Truth") rears it's head.
Now in the Oracle world, data architecture generally has primacy, which in this case manifests itself as the use of foreign keys in data tables referencing the equivalent lookups (dimensional modelling, star diagrams and the rest) - thus even special, application-specific values, i.e. with no intrinsic value in the real world, end up in your ERD. There appears to be a bit difference of opinon, depending on the background of the developer.
Hence my question - how do you, as developers, deal with these sorts of situations?
