Questions on ATP Check, RLT & Planning

Hi,
I have a couple of issues regarding ATP checks and Planning, and I was wondering if anyone could help.
1. We have a setup right now where we are using standard SAP availability check with Replenishment Lead time. In the Purchasing, we might have scenarios where some Purchase orders are indefintely delayed from the Vendors and this has to be reflected in the sales order.
We tried doing that by setting the delivery date in the PO to 31.12.9999 but since the date lies outside of the RLT, the sales order is fully confirmed and the delay in purchasing is not reflected in the sales order. Do you have any suggestions on how we could get around this without deactivating RLT?
2. We have a requirement right now of using the Planned delivery time in the Material master as working days instead of Calendar days for planning purposes. Any proposal on how that can be done?
3. We also have a requirement of taking the 'ordering calendar' into account for planning as well as for availability check - the ordering calendar is basically a weekly schedule when the POs are created and sent out to the Vendor. As an example we have a material with Planned delivery time as 3 days and GR Processing time as 1 day. However, we send the PO to this Vendor only on every Thursday.
When the sales order is placed on Friday, using RLT the Sales order will be confirmed for Tuesday next week, but the PO will not even be sent to the Vendor till Thursday next week and we end up giving incorrect confirmations to the customers. Is there any way that this 'ordering calendar' could be taken into account in the Availability check.
Hope someone can help.

Hi arnab
one way of achieving your requirements is
after creating the sales order you can execute the SALEs order MRP using MD50 transaction enter the order # and MRP control parameters 1,3,1,2. and execute.
Ensure the following before MRP.
1. All the master data are maintained for the schedule line creation for the components ( Source list, Scheduling agreements)
2. Material master with valid MRP data.strategy group having MTO strategy.
after sales order MRP you will get the schedule line created for the components
also MRp will create the cpacity requirements as we run the MRP with Lead time scheduling.
Hope this helps

  • Question about ATP check using BAPI_MATERIAL_AVAILABILITY

In the user exit for delivery creation, I'm doing an additional ATP check using the BAPI_MATERIAL_AVAILABILITY based on this topic's recommendation:  FM to check available stock
However, my code checks both of these in determining that ATP quantity is available:
    1) DIALOGFLAG not equal 'X'
    2) Value of COM-QTY for the requested date (in return table WMDVEX) is greater or equal to zero.
The second check was something I derived, and appears to work 100% of the time for all our cases.
The DIALOGFLAG check is an enigma.  I can't recall which post or OSS I saw this in, but it stated that DIALOGFLAG = 'X' indicates no ATP quantity available?  However, we've had a couple of orders in the last week, where the ATP quantity was greater than zero at the time the delivery was posted, but BAPI_MATERIAL_AVAILABILITY returns an 'X'.
So... my question is what does the "X" really mean in terms of ATP?  Does it indicate (a) that the ATP quantity is zero at the end of timeframe (which it was), or (b) something else I don't know about?

    Hallo Brad Bohn,
    thank you for your suggestion.
Iu2019m using an own rule (as copy of rule A), the own rule donu2019t use purchase orders.
In CO09 I have the following ATP Quanties:
    09.09.2009     BStand          1,775     0     259
    09.09.2009     LgBest     0001     785     0     459
    09.09.2009     LgBest     0002     989     0     452
    09.09.2009     LgBest     0003     22     0     20
The function module provides only 259 for each storage location.
There is another function module AVAILABILITY_CHECK. Can this function module also be used to determine ATP quantity?
    Thank you & best regards,
    Kurt.

  • Order Processing - Capacity and ATP check with planned order

    Dear all,
is it possible to block the creation of a sale order based with PP strategy 81 (or similar) if missing components for planned order are given?
Is also possible to block the creation of a sale order with PP strategy 81 (or similar) if no alllowable capacity for planned order is given in the scheduled dates?

    Luca,
is it possible to block the creation of a sale order based with PP strategy 81 (or similar) if missing components for planned order are given?
Not in Standard SAP ERP.  You can block confirmation in 81 or 82.
Is also possible to block the creation of a sale order with PP strategy 81 (or similar) if no allowable capacity for planned order is given in the scheduled dates?
Not in standard SAP ERP.  It is possible to generate a notification popup during the capacity check.
The functionalities you seek exist in APO using either CTP or MATP

Check with the Confirmation category - AB in Purchase Order. with this CC-AB, whatever the delivery dates maintained will get directly update in SO - schedule lines. ( LA confirmation category doesnt have this functionality)
2- about this, use the special rule in your purchasing calender along with the AB confirmation. your MM consulant, will give more info about this.

  • ATP CHECK in all storage Location of the Plant

    Dear gurus,
we have the stock for the component in the storage location :
    Storage Location A 10 PZ
    Storage Location B 30 pz
    Storage location C 40 pz
In the planned order for this component there is the storage location A.
The ATP check ( in the transaction MDVP) confirm the quantity only in the storage location A, but i would like confim the quantity stock of all the storage location, also having to maintain the storage location A in the position of the component in the planned order.
For example for the planned order the requirement for this component is 30 pz , when i run the atp check the system confirm only 10 pz in the storage location A present in the position of the component, but i need confirm all quantity because present in others storage location, also having to maintain the storage location A in the position of the component in the planned order.
I need see in the avalaible ATP check all the storage location of the plant, there are the customizing setting or material master setting.
    Thanks a lot
    Daniele Pistilli

    Daniele,
First determine which ATP check is being used for your planned orders in OPPJ under plant or MRP group.  Then, also in OPPJ, under 'Determine Check', modify that availability check by ticking the 'no stor locn inspectn' box.
Perhaps you can advise your 'friend' [Luca Malavasi|http://forums.sdn.sap.com/profile.jspa?userID=841888], of this response as well.  He has asked the same question.
Atp Check see all storage location of the plant
I won't blindly assume that a single person is using more than one userid on these forums.  Many of the moderators do not permit this practice..

  • Collective ATP check for production orders

    Hi Gurus,
I tried the MDVP tcode, but I can only do the collective ATP check for planned orders. we wanted to do the collective check with production orders, can you tell me how I can do this?
    Thanks.

I've posted this question but didn't get any response. Can some one please give me an idea how to do the collective ATP check for production orders.

  • OM 11i ATP Checking

I have questions regarding ATP checking in Order Management R11i. I have defined an item with Check ATP = Material only. The ATP Rule attached to this item has Infinite Supply = 15 days. There is no Supply or Demand for this item at this point.
When I perform Scheduling from the Sales Order form Availability Button, it indicates that the ordered qty is available even though there is no Supply.
However, when I perform an ATP Inquiry from the Inventory form - I do receive an ATP date which is 15 days into the future.
Does anyone have similar experiences with OM Scheduling functionality.
    Thanks for your help.
    Mike Kudo

    1. Make sure you have run the ATP Data Collection as a complete refresh since creating or assigning or updating any ATP Rules.
    2. Check the following defaulting rules:-
-Order Line, Schedule Ship Date = Related Record, Ship Set
    - Order Header, Latest Acceptable Date = Constant Value, 500 (use whatever value you like but at least this will cover most cases). Null behaves as zero days and means that no schedule date is good enough.
    - Run the 'Defaulting Generator' from OM (Run Requests) after updating these rules.
    3. For the ATPable items, make sure that the ATP Components item attribute is set to 'No'. The system can get confused if this is wrong & give such unpredictable results.
    4. Try the following system profile option setting:-
INV: Capable to Promise = Enable PL/SQL based ATP without Planning Output
    5. What is the value of the OM: AutoSchedule profile option ... YES or NO ? From what you have described, I assume you are manually scheduling so this would be set to 'NO'.
This is based on having very recently set up a heavily patched 11.5.3 (more like 11.5.4) instance.

  • Is ATP check possible in Service Order for Sales Item?

    Hi All,
My question, is ATP check possible in Service Order for Sales Item? My requirement is that when i create a service order in the web UI with a sales item and drill down to the item level, i see the schedule lines assignment block but w/o any Confirming date, so i want to know whether the ATP check is happening or not. For example wen i create a sales order in web UI with a sales item and drill down into the item level, the schedule line AB shows me the Confirming date checking the ATP. But this is not happening in case of service order. So kindly suggest the reason and clarify my query. Thanks

  • ATP check in COHV

    Hi All
Iam doing ATP check in planned order and getting Missing parts.
When i do ATP check in COHV for same planned order then iam not getting any missing parts.
    Is any config is missing?

    Hi,
From what i know SAP recommends usage of MDVP for planned orders. There are still quite many issues with usage of COHV for planned orders, hence i would suggest the use of MDVP.
    Hope it clarifies.

  • ATP check and Check against preliminary planning for prod order

    Hi
For same material, order type and plant for some orders ATP check is happening and for some orders Check against preliminary planning is happening.I want to know why its happening.
    Regards,
    PradeepM.

    Pradeep,
What types of orders?  Do you mean SD orders?
ATP check is defaulted 'on' or 'not on' by the MRP Strategy(OPPS, look for "availability check").  MRP strategy is in turn determined by the MRP strategy group in the plant-level material master.  Assuming, then, that your MRP strategy group contains only one MRP strategy (this is common), then the default check will be set by MRP strategy group.
ATP check can subsequently be turned on/off other ways in SD, leaving you with either no ATP, or possibly an Availability check against planning.
So, if you are talking about sales orders, and not PP orders, the most likely place for 'turning off'' the ATP check is with the schedule line category.  A close second culprit is with the requirements class of the SO item.  SD configuration will determine the default requirements type, requirements class, and the default Schedule line category.  Study the sales orders in question in VA03.  Specifically look at the requirements type (procurement tab of SO Item) and the Schedule line category (goto-item-schedule lines).  Then, look at the configuration for
    Schedule line category: OVZ8
Mapping of requirements type to requirements class :  OVZH
    Requirements class:  OVZ0
Look at the setting for 'AvC'.  If it is 'on', you will get ATP against product.  If it is off, you will get either an ATP against planning, or no ATP at all.
If you wish to change the determination of the Requirements type, or the determination of the Schedule line category in SD, you should probably discuss with your local SD functional expert.  A small change here can have many unintended consequences.

  • ATP Check Finished Goods against Components for production planning

    Hi All,
Our business has a requirement that they want finished goods to be planned based on the availability of components. Currently we have an APO solution which plans at finished goods level only so there is no need to bring components into APO. We will probably use CTM (currently using Heuristics)
We have concerns about the harm that this will do to our system performance and we really do not want to bring these components into APO.  We are therefore interested if there is any way we can avoid bringing these components into APO.
In the past, there use to be a seperate ATP server from SAP where this could be done but my understanding is that this was discontinued and is no longer supporetd. Can someone advise me if there was a product that replaced this ATP Server or does anyone have any suggestions on how we can avoid bringing the components into APO. Please consider that it is not possible to limit to just critical components.
    Mark

    Mark,
Hmmm..   Your seem to be considering adding hardware to support ATP server, but you seem unwilling to consider adding more hardware to the current SCM solution?  Doesn't make much sense to me.  Like most SAP products, SCM/APO can be expanded almost infinitely, if you need performance gains.  Which you don't know yet.
Anyhow, depending on your requirements, CTM is probably overkill.  PPDS or SNP alone would be adequate.  If enhanced availability checking is what you want, then one of the GATP solutions would work.
I guess ATP server still exists (run transaction ACBD from ECC) but I don't think I have ever seen anyone use ATP server at the same time they are using SCM.   All ATP server does is move the processing load of ECC ATP check onto a distinct buffered memory area.  I don't see how that will solve your problem, but I guess I don't really understand what you mean by "planned based on the availability of components." You don't need anything special to plan FGs in SCM and components in R/3, this is pretty standard.

  • ATP-check - check completely confirmed planned orders

    Hi everyone,
I just stumbled over sth. during checking the ATP-settings in my system.
In OVZ9, when double-clicking on any of the combinations of checking-group and checking-rule, in the lower part of the righthand-side, I got the option to include planned orders as well. Now, if I open up my options, I find 4 of them:
    - empty: Do not check
    - A: check firmed planned orders only
    - B: check completely confirmed planned orders
    - C: check all planned orders
So... can anybody tell me what's the story with completely confirmed planned orders? I know what it means to firm planned orders and I know how to do it, but what's the point with that?
    Any help greatly appreciated!
    Regards... Bobby

    Hi,
There was a bug in the standard program.
SAP create a new SAP Note '1616590' for the above correction.
    Thank You.

  • ATP check and Check against planning for a production order

    Hi
When I create a production order for some orders it is ATP check and for some orders it is showing 2 in type avail check is check against planning in coois screen. Because of this orders are gettign released even though BOM material is out of stock. Can I know in which situations the orders will come under the second scenario. I always want the orders should be in ATP check
    regards,
    PradeepM.

    Hi,
If you want only ATP check, then in MRP-3 view of the mtl master change the checking group to the same value as the one which you find to be following the ATP check.
However before making this change do consult your colleagues in other domains, as this will impact all places where Av. check is done.
    Hope it clarifies.

  • Can we reverse the status of the planned/prod order with ATP check

    Dear all,
i ahve 1 query. When in the product view, if u select any planned order/prod order, and click on ATP check.
if the quantity is confiremd, then the stutus of the orde change to checked and confirmed.
i want to know can we change this status. can we reverse this status.??
let me know ASAP. if yes plz explain in deatils
    Regards
    Pravin Mukkawar

    hi Praveen
You can reverse/change the status of a Planned Order if it shows "checked and fully confirmed/partially confirmed" in
    /sapapo/rrp4( process receipts).
To do this, enter your location product and run the transaction. be sure you are in change mode.you will get a list of planned orders.select your planned order and select the "pegging structue conversion" push button. then in the next screen select the valid line and push the "delete ATP status" button.
refresh product view and you can see the new status "Not Checked" for your product.
    Hope this helps you.

  • ATP check for materials and ATP Confirmed Qty's

    Good morning,
I have a question regarding the ATP.
If I have a 100 of box a in stock and I have 2 Planned Orders for 75 (total req on box is 150).
When I convert the first Planned Ord to a Prodution Ord, the ATP check will run and confirm that I have the 75 boxes required (as we want it), but if I then convert the second Planned Order I would expect the ATP to say that only 25 is available, but it is also telling me that the 75 boxes required are available.
Can I set the ATP to confirm/allocate the first 75 boxes to the first Production Order and when the second order runs ATP to only commit to 25?
    Thanks in advance.
    ATP novice :o)

    Hi Guy Hall,
Please check with, "include dependent reservation and production order" has been activated for  checking rule used for production order at "avilabilty checking scope"
