Queuing queries -  best possible way with Pros and cons

Hi,
I have multiple queries on Queues.
Please provide valuable answers and receive good rewards:
1. is it possible to seclude specific one group of business messages (x customer) to seperate queues? this is to ensure that our messages are secluded from other group of business messages(other y customer) and minimize the impact from each other. the existing setup is 10 queues for EOIO (each once in order) and 10 queues for EO (each once), 5 apart for inbound and 5 for outbound.
2. what's the impact to hardware requirement if we're to configure more/seperate queues for one customer - e.g memory consumption and higher CPU ussage (the understanding is that with more queues we should be able to handle more message processing pararrelly at the same time, and on top of that prevent queues clogging up due to system error exception).
3. can we configure the message to be dropped/skipped on error instead of just hanging on the queues which stops other messages from going through?
Thanks for your precious time.

  • Trying to way the pros and cons of upgrading to the octane

3 lines, husband and son have ENV2's and I have an ENV3 with no problems at all with the shut down issue and have had it 2yrs.  We have no home phone and my phone is the main line so it's on 24/7 since I have an elderly Mom that lives in the area I have too.  I don't text a ton and I do receive some tweets and bettery life is very good.    We are due for upgrades and online at verizon it's saying we can all get the octane free.  Started reading all the user reviews and have some questions I need addressed if anyone can help.  For the most part I think the ENV2 and 3 are just about the same except I find the keyboard layout better on the 3.   I plan on looking at one in store and brining a list of stuff with me to check too.     Mary
Low volume-  Know there was a big discussion on this and complaints galore.  On my ENV3 on the front at the top where I listen to calls is that also a speaker and that's why I can hear it good when closed and the octane does not work like this when closed?  I can make my own ringtones and amplify them same for hubby but this would be big cons for us if they didn't do something to correct it on newer phones coming out.
Battery life seemed to be a complaint with some people.   I know if you text a ton and send photos that will eat up battery life so are some phones defective with the battery or are people maybe just sending a lot of photo message to eat up battery life I wonder.  With light texting and a few photos I can go a few days before I loose some bars now so hoping it would be the same on the octane.
Back light stays on when powered down- user specific defect?
To answer an incoming call, you must push OK first to unlock the device then press SEND to pick up the call. Should be a single button push to answer or at best OK twice, not 2 separate-  True or false or maybe they don’t have the settings for answering a call right?   Only have to push one button on my env3 and 2.
slow frustrating interface glitchy software awkward front keypad- front keypad looks like my ENV3 with a contact button and an ok button to push and navigate music and photos and such does the ok button do that?  Maybe they have updated the software so it's not glitchty now?
you have to open the flip to see missed calls and silence the alarm.  True or false?  See missed calls and alarm function on front of ENV3 when it goes off and this is important to me
person on the other end of the line hears an echo. when i press "2" "12" is displayed-  User specific glitches?
2.5mm headphone jack. you cannot play music without the micro sd card-  I load music on my micro card now so have one and putting music on the actual phone itself is not a concern for me and I have the head phone adapter to use my regular head phones.
speaker isn't very loud while on speaker phone-  glitch with that users phone or all of them as I do use that function quite a bit.
keyboard set up a little wonky- from photo looks like my ENV3 with space bar in the middle which I love better than the ENV2 keyboard
dropping calls on regular basis- User specific to their area and service?  Hard to tell as they didn't state if all the other phones they have had never did that in their area.  I get no dropped calls at home or out an about with any verizon phones we have had, we get great service here, only exception might be if we are way out in the boonies which is rarely but for home and out and about in town I need good reception so would assume this phone would work the same on our service as the ENV2 and 3 do and our old flip phones did.
there is no indicator that I have a voicemail message- guessing that has to be a user glitch as every phone we have had has a voice mail indicator so does it not have one?
Case back is very hard to get off without bending the whole thing and I can see that once it’s a bit worn, it will probably be hard to keep on. I never dropped my ENV but have already dropped this twice due to a more slippery nature. Its also harder to open quickly- not sure if they bought a case other than the black rubberized one from verizon which I have for my ENV3 and is fine or they are talking about the phone itself?  Why would it be harder to open quickly?  Defective hinges on that one?
for the camera. It doesn't have a zoom in option, which is strange- My ENV3 does not have a zoom function.  Don’t care as I have $2,000 worth of professional equipment to take good photos so just need to snap something once in a while out and about to maybe send to someone and my ENV3 in daylight is great for that so assume this is just as good if not a little better camera quality.

We have 3 Octanes, I don't personally have one, I've not heard any complaints by any of them. My responses are in Bule below.

  • What are the pros and cons re using an intel iMac vs MacPro with LP8?

I'm considering getting a new intel Mac in the near future (presuming a new MacPro will be released in the near future - maybe at the same time as Leopard). I compose largely for film and television and I am composing largely using a combination of loops, software instruments and some recorded live performance. I usually sync to a low res quicktime movie.
I do like the idea of a simple and uncluttered work environment with an iMac, added to which there's also a degree of portability with the iMac however the MacPro is obviously more powerful. I'm not sure how much the difference in power between the two computers would affect me.
Would I be compromising myself much if I went for the iMac over the MacPro? What are the pros and cons of the iMac vs the MacPro in relation to Logic Pro 8?

In the world large-scale music composition using samples, loops, etc (especially for film) your two biggest needs are RAM and HD speed/access. The imac looses big time in this department (as a single computer at least) as it can only be upgraded to 4gb ram, and only holds one internal HD, and also lacks any PCI expansion for DSP cards, audio interfaces, etc.
In generalyou want to separate your data vs applications as much as possible, to ensure both can be accessed quickly and easily by the computer. So its best to have your system software / applications on one internal HD, and your logic data (samples, audio recordings, loops) on another drive(s). You can do this with an iMac via USB, FW800, & FW400, but depending on how big your projects get, how many USB and FW drives / interfaces you use, and how much data you need to stream, you could overload the buss on the imac (not sure if it has multiple busses or not). Plus speed wise, internal SATA are much faster than external drives, and the mac pro with its 4 internal slots seems like a great choice for speed and flexibility.
However, if you dont find yourself doing large scale projects, then you might be better off going with an imac. We just purchased one for my father and it runs great! It blows the socks off of my Dual 2.5 G5 tower in terms of CPU speed! If you run into problems running things from the imac, you could always add a mac-mini down the road to stream sample libs, as a Logic node, etc, which seems to be a much more cost effective solution.
I hope this was helpful, but I probably just made the decision harder . In fact, if I were to start over today, I dont know if I'd go with a MacPro, or an iMac / mac mini combination. they both seem to have their advantages / disadvantages.
    Best of luck!

  • Pros and cons of creating a table with key

    Hi Folks
I have some tables where there is no key defined in the source system. What is the best way to build such tables. In my case the source system is Teradata.
I have 25-30 columns in dimension and what is the best way to load this data where there is no.
What will be the Pros and Cons if I have a table without a key  or if I create a table with 25-30 keys.
    regards
    Poonam

I recently purchased a Mac Mini and am using it with my TV.  Here's what I found:
Using the HDMI connection on the Mac Mini, the image on the TV is very harsh.  It's very bright, high contrast and garish colors.  I did a lot of testing and am convinced this is due to the HDMI Display Profile in OS X Yosemite.  I could not find any way to change the display profile in the Mac Mini as long as HDMI was the connection.
Using the miniDisplayport/Thunderbolt connection on the Mac Mini, with the Apple miniDisplayPort-DVI adapter and a DVI-HDMI cable the picture is perfect.  (Note, however, that this connection only carries video; if you want audio you will have to use a separate cable to connect the Mac Mini audio line out port to your TV's audio line in port.)
That said, the larger the TV the less quality you will have displaying text.  I suggest using a 21" or smaller TV as a monitor if you will be doing text work.
My setup is with a 40" Sony Bravia 1080p HDTV and the primary use is for video (concerts, movies, Skype, etc), not office apps.   As I said earlier, the picture is perfect - brightness, contrast, colors, resolution are as nice as I could ask for.

  • What are the pros and cons of running iTunes from an SD card with a Retina MBP?

    Hello,
I'm thinking about getting a Retina MBP, but I think the default storage of 256GB is way to small to be used as a main computer and the upgrade to 512GB is very expensive. I was thinking of ways to reduce bulky files and was considering running iTunes from an SD card. Does anybody have any experience with doing this, what pros and cons did you discover?

I wouldn't even try storing multiple iTunes libraries on SD cards. Better idea - what I do - is store the majority of my music on an external hard drive and just my 'must have' tunes on my internal SSD. I have a 512GB SSD and use around 170GB for iTunes. On my external drive, I had about 440GB in tunes (last time I checked).
You can 'switch' libraries by holding down the option key when you launch iTunes. It's the best of both worlds - storage for on-the-go, must-haves, and an entire library of "all" of my music.
256GB should be plenty of space - I just store so much music on my internal SSD because I can!

  • How to Move from CSV to Table in Physical layer in Best possible way

We had a project which had the source (physical Layer) as CSV. Now there are moving from CSV to a Table in the Database.
Can anyone guide through the best possible way to complete the task
    With Regards!
    Steve

Create a new Database node in the Physical layer with connection pool, create a schema folder and drag your CSV object into the new database - All your BMM mappings and hence Presentation objects will move over seamlessly.
Might be an idea to simply reverse engineer / import any object from your database to initially create your database connection / tree then simply drag the CSV into it.
    Hope this helps,
    Alastair

  • Pros and cons in setting AD domain trust into my AD domain for more than 10+ AD domain and some with same FQDN or label ?

    Hi,
Can someone please share what is the pros and Cons of trusting AD domain for more than 10 different AD sites into my existing single domain forest let say ParentCompany.com ?
At the moment I only have one single forest AD domain with the Domain and Forest functionality Windows Server 2003. The main domain controller FSMO role holder is in the Data Center spread across three different VMs running on Windows Server 2008 R2.
The main/parent company has acquired smaller business chain of 15+ offices in which they have their own Domain Controller and also their own domain, sometimes they also got the same AD domain between them (no trust or whatsoever in those 15+ AD domain).
Sounds crazy but yes, there is no standardization in them or whoever manage their IT infrastructure previously.
I'm now considering what are the benefits of creating the AD domain and trust versus importing those AD objects into my domain and then decommission them.
No need to worry about Exchange Server since all of the user in those sites connecting to the RDS to my ParentCompany.com terminal servers.
My requirements or goal are as follows:
    1. Simplify the AD domain structure & maintenance
    2. Try to avoid the disruptions of the user in terms of downtime and selecting multiple different domain everytime they login to their PC or SharePoint sites.
any kind of help and suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

I think you mean 10 AD domains.
Managing multiple domains can be difficult for administration. I usually recommend using a single domain in a single forest with OUs to separate resources whenever it is possible.
However, if you can't do that then you can simply create trust relationships between your domains. The advantage is that you can enable access to resources to different domains. I do not see cons here.

I would recommend consolidating your domains into a single one. ADMT is a migration tool that you can use. The advantage would be the ease of administration. Also, by having multiple DCs for the same domain across sites, you will take benefit of High Availability
    of your and DRP.

  • Mouse 4 and marks - pros and cons with Mavericks

    Hello,
I'm pretty new to mac but have had computers for many many years. However I've bought the latest iMac maxed out.
    Pros and cons:
Pros: It's an Apple product. It great really and I love it. The only wonder I have is why they made the computer thinner and didn't install a true desktop graphic card in there. I guess it's because they don't want people to buy that computer instead of Mac Pro.
    Cons:
    1. I've been searching for a way for go back in a browser faster without trackpad/magicmouse. There is only thirdparty programs that I have to pay for that support Mouse 4, for example. Still don't understand why Apple have chosen not to support this. Atleast allow me to just drag the window like we do on the iPhone. Right now I have to either click the back button or right click and chose "Back".
    2. When I'm in my Videos folder or any type of folder really. Let's say I have a folder with 10 movies in it. I open one, watch it and then close the player. I then can't see which video I just watched. The only way to see this is either to remember the videoname or open all videos again until I find it. In Windows, the video/file will be marked so I know which file I just watched.
    3. iCloud service are very nice, but still a little hard to understand how it works. If I transfer all my pictures from my iPhone to my iMac using iCloud and then delete them all from my phone. Will they disappear on my Mac too? Since the systems are synced?

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • SAPSPRINT vs Local Printers (Pro and Cons)

    Hi guys.
Anyone can help me out citing pro and cons by installing a SAPSPRINT over windows vs having printers installed directy over the Iseries Server.
Its planned to install productive printers which are very critical, so we would like to devise the best approach.
By installing the SAPSPRINT would avoid the bottlenecks if the printers are installed locally?
    Thanks!

Hi Markus, nice to see you.
I agree with the fact that a central print server you can have a better administration of your printers.
My concern is that based on Note 19706 - Tuning the Spooler, productive printers must never be defined with access type U or S, and all printers created on that print server are type U, which is the recommended access method for remote printers.
    Group 1 (Productive printer):
All printers with the shortest possible response time.
For example: Goods receipt/issue sheets, delivery notes, patient entry sheets,...
Printers with a fast response (Group 1):
Devices with short response times must NEVER be defined with access type 'U' or 'S'. When a problem occurs (e.g. network problems, PC is switched off etc.), a single printer linked to a work process by access type 'U' disturbs all the connected printers. All printers in this group MUST be linked with access type 'L' or 'C' (depending on the operating system). If they are not linked to the server, they must be defined in the host spooler as "remote printers" and forwarded via the the host spooler.
So why this note recommends to put printers locally in order avoid network issues and so on, but SAP also recommends a SAPSPRINT as printing solution?
Does SAPSPRINT overrule any recommendation to local printers and is a definite solution way better than local printing?
    Thanks Markus again

  • Neptune for UI development Pros and Cons

    Hi ,
we are evaluating neptune for UI development for what are the pros and cons of using neptune.
i see only that webdynpro abap developer can be easily moved to neptune , some javascript knowledge is still required.
    some question
    1) can neptune make calls to odata services ? do that requires code in javascript or ABAP
    2) any accelerators provided by neptune  like for workflow scenarios , list and details .
    3) can sap standard fiori apps extensibility  or modification is possible through neptune
    4) security if its accessing business functionality directly
    regards
    Yashpal

    Hi Yashpal,
I will give you my view, but as Robbe says I work for the company and other SAP developers like DJ Adams has other development tool preferences than me ( I call his Sublime Text development spaghetti coding and he sees Neptune as a crutch that restricts a developer's freedom but this is just a friendly point-of-view discussion and I have promised him a beer in Walldorf next time our paths cross there)
So the important message is that SAP has opened up their platform for different development tools and it is now a choice for the individual developer or SAP customer. This is a fantastic move by SAP and I think a bit overlooked by the community, Look at the new Xamarin partnership as an example (and yes they are a competitor, but I did mention them )
Now the pros of Neptune are in my opinion:
ABAP developer friendly development (removed 90% of JavaScripting needed)
Connected to the SAP transport System (Software Logistics as is)
Drag Drop designer that gives structured code (easy for a new developer to take over code, compared to the spaghetti provided by DJ <-  I'll need to buy a few extra beers for that remark)
Native json communication provided by the Neptune Server (you can argue all you want about Odata, our solution is more flexible gives incredible performance and superb and easy to use offline capabilities)
Integration with Adobe build, use an SAP program to generate hybrid apps  (The average ABAP developer does not install cordova and build hybrid apps - with Neptune he/she does)
Integration with SMP. Automatic connection with the REST API's of SMP both on-premise and in the Cloud
Reduced time to market. One of the largest SAP implementation partners in the Nordics stated that Neptune reduced development time by 80%
Free templates (Advanced templates such as fully functional PM, HCM, SD templates are available Experience | Neptune Software  <- sorry for the marketing but you did ask)
UI5, all of the other third-party tools (Not SAP tools like App Builder, Eclipse etc) uses non UI5 frameworks. I personally believe that SAPUI5 (UI5) is the future of SAP UX and thus it only makes sense to keep a common and future-proof framework.
Network crunching. We optimize all networking. Which makes sense for mobility.
no extra infrastructure needed - it is a certified add-on and takes 15 mins to install.
Works with most versions of SAP. We even have alot of customers using 4.7 (we need the ICF so nothing lower). This is something the community often forgets. Yes it is cool to play with the latest Netweaver release, but do our customers have that installed?
    Cons (woot!)
Cost, even if Neptune is very affordable it still requires license for productive usage (free for developers though - and hey we need to live as well ) So custom coding  is cheaper in respect to license (but not in TCO in my opinion)
Generated code, even if we have added as much freedom to code custom JavaScript as possible there will always be restrictions in generated code compared to notepad. (But I haven't met an issue that couldn't be solved by custom coding in the Neptune Application Designer yet)
Other backend systems. Neptune is based on ABAP and as such it obviosly works best with an ABAP backend.
.... (Add stuff from other non Neptune ppl )
    Regarding your questions:
    1. Yes you can use Odata, best way is to consume it on the ABAP level, but you can of course consume it through JavaScript as well (Not recomended by me)
    2. Yes see above (free templates and also premium templates by our partners)
    3. No you can't modify a fiori app with Neptune, but the two solutions work perfectly together (You can add Neptune apps in the Fiori launchpad) One of our partners have created an RDS solution based on both Fiori and Neptune.
    4. Neptune is an add-on to Netweaver and as such has no extra security in itself beyond that (And we seek not to do that). But we support any security you wish to add on top. I strongly advice having a look at the SAP Secure offering (App protection and MDM)  as well as SMP (also the new Cloud edition which gives easy affordable protection for your backend)
So that was my very biased answer
