And it's easy enough to change to square pixels within the editing application.

The 800-400 converter plugs have proved a problem for this. What version of the software are you using. It sounds like an older version of FCP, if so you should ask your question on the Final Cut Studio forum.

Instead of copying images (jpgs, etc) from my iPad Mini to my desktop PC, I'd like to do the opposite, that is, copy existing images from my PC files to my Mini without going through a multi-email process which involves resizing the images by experiment.
I hope someday Adobe Lightroom can add this feature, but I'll settle for some simple transfer, perhaps by cable between my PC and my Mini.

You can do it via your computer's iTunes. If you are on iTunes 11 on your computer then you may want to re-enable the left-hand sidebar via View > Show Sidebar (option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), which might make it easier to navigate and my instructions may make more sense.
To sync photos, connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes (if you've enabled the sidebar), and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.
If you haven't enabled the sidebar, then from your library click 'iPad' at the top right of the screen and you should get a series of buttons along the top of the screen, including one for Photos

Advantages, pros and cons, using "Image Capture" versus iPhoto?

     Senior Citizen's first attempt to use mini SD Card (fr. cell phone) to transfer picts. to my Mac Mini, OS X Maverick 10.9. Plus, I just got my first digital camera.
     Ergo the Ques.: What are the Pros & Cons between these to apps.? Points of concern: 1.) Privacy: Don't want picts. accdentally uploaded anywhere in case I click the wrong button. 2.) Easist to learn, easiest to use, no graphic designer here, starting out with the basics- crop, sharpen, rotate -then on wards & upwards. 3.) Portability & end uses & users (viewers) compatibilities. Of great import of course export & import.
     Been with my cell phone carrier 15 yrs. on Nokias now I can get an iPhone. Lot of dificulties hooking Nokia to Mac, Isync no longer supported (blu tooth) connection, screwing up contacts etc. Can't hook up directly, lost cord. Some already transfered when everything was working; I believe that was back in OS X 10.8.4, not sure.
     None the less I want to start utilizing the One of these Apps on board. Know I have to learn them my self. Just another Late in Life learning prob., #%*)#!

As thomas_r points out, Image Capture just transfers the photos from a Camera (or card) to your Mac into a folder somewhere on your Mac.
iPhoto provides all the organization, editing, and sharing features. iPhoto is easy to use, offering one-click editing for many of the common photo editing needs.
You generally won't be able to one-click and post them someplace you don't want. There will be at least one dialog box stopping to ask directions before it goes where you were trying to send it.
While it doesn't post them publicly (unless you go in and change settings), the iPhone has a capability to put all the pictures you've take into your iCloud account so they are immediately avaliable on other iCloud connected devices.
As stated, it doesn't put them in a public place, but it does move them onto Apple's servers. You can turn that feature off in the phone's settings.

1. is it possible to seclude specific one group of business messages (x customer) to seperate queues? this is to ensure that our messages are secluded from other group of business messages(other y customer) and minimize the impact from each other. the existing setup is 10 queues for EOIO (each once in order) and 10 queues for EO (each once), 5 apart for inbound and 5 for outbound.
2. what's the impact to hardware requirement if we're to configure more/seperate queues for one customer - e.g memory consumption and higher CPU ussage (the understanding is that with more queues we should be able to handle more message processing pararrelly at the same time, and on top of that prevent queues clogging up due to system error exception).
3. can we configure the message to be dropped/skipped on error instead of just hanging on the queues which stops other messages from going through?

h264 is not a native format that fcp can edit with, so you will have to encode the footage to dv or dvcpro or prores, usinf either compressor of mpegstreamclip then import that .mov file into fcp

I am capturing DV tapes and even if I uncheck the "split scenes" option in the capture window, PE7 still splits the scenes into many .avi files.

Also, what are the source of your contacts? are they created on the phone, or you synced from yahoo/hotmail etc.
If thats the case, the circular arrow wont be visible but instead show "groups"
Contacts from different accounts are not synced to iCloud.

DataGuard setup between Windows XP Pro and Windows 2003 Server - possible?

Oracle 9.2. The documentation says "The hardware and operating system architecture on the primary and standby locations must be the same". I understand that this is recommended setup and it will be much better if it will be setup on EXACTLY same hardware and OS. My questions is - Is it possible to set it up between XP Pro and 2003 Server? Had anyone done it successfully the past?

between XP Pro and 2003 ServerBoth are Win* releases, both are 32bit. So I can't see why it would not work. But I think that certified combination requies that both computers use same O.S. release (XP pro xor 2k3 server).

Depends on what you mean by cover and how elaborate you want it to be.
You could likely create one in TextEdit, but it wouldn't be simple.
I can't think of anything else bundled with the OS that would do that.
There isn't anything "purpose-made" for that task.

Your code shows a complete lack of understanding of dataflow programming. Maybe you should start out with a few tutorials and study some example programs from the example finder.
How are you running the code? Run continuously??? There is no toplevel loop! It is difficult to say more, because most subVIs are missing so we cannot even test.
Your toplevel is unmaintainable, with loops and sequence structures stacked knee deep. Have a look at state machine architecture instead. Your only seem to work if controls are operated in a specific sequence. Most of the time, controls will not respond because the code does something else.
Your "sweep program makes no sense. Why are you setting a value property that overwrites a control, making the control useless. Only use controls if the user can actually change something. Why not just initialize the shift register with a diagram constant of 400? After you do that, the sequence structure is obsolete, delete it. Why is there a local variable? Why don't you delete the local variable and place the indicator in its place inside the loop?
Your subfilter code makes no sense. Nothing will happen in the main VI while it is running. Data is only returned at the output terminal once the VI is finished. It does not change any wavelenghts as you claim, it simply updates it's front panel. What else do you expect? Why don't you flatten that code in the main VI, simply autoindexing an array with three wavelents in the loop that does the acquisition. Why does the output go to a case strucure with only choices 0 and 1? Since none of the outputs will ever be 0 or 1, only the empty default case will ever execute.

Ok, probably a daft question this. Don't laugh...
I'm thinking of purchasing a digital video camera that uses SD cards. I currently use a MiniDV cam and connect via Firewire.
Is it possible to capture footage shot on SD cards into FCE?
And, if so, should I use USB from the camera, or insert the SD card into my card-reader?
The camera I'm looking at is able to record HD footage to a 2gb SD card (about 40 mins worth)

Im testing JMF and wonder if anybody knows if it is possible to capture click events from the web camera? The web camera itself has a button made to capture images and I'd like this feature in my application. All I wonder is if it's possible to capture or in any other way access information when ever this button is clicked.

You could use linux easily.
Check dmesg, after you push the button.
Allyou have to do is capture the event.
In windows, you would probably have to do some jni.

Is it possible to capture from DV tape (OnLocation CS5)

I posted this question on the OnLocation forum but got not responses at all. I’m new to Premiere Pro CS5 so please bear with me. Is it possible to capture DV from my Canon HV40 using OnLocation? When I get OL and my camera connected and ready, it only allows me to capture Live recoding. But I would like to capture my already recorded DV from tapes. I know I can use PrePro under a new project each time but it would be nice to do capturing and import clips to whatever projects later. Do I have something set wrong or is this not possible using OL?
