  • Using quick query component

    hi,
I am using quick query component. There is any way to show in the combo box of the quick query component only some and not all fields, because I do not need to display all.
    Please..

    Vane,
If you're using ADF Business Components - I believe you can do this by creating a named view criteria on your View Object and then dragging-and-dropping the named view criteria on to the page as an af:quickQuery - haven't tested this personally, though.
A really quick test - no more time today - seems to show that named view criteria can create an af:query, but I didn't see af:quickQuery as an option...
Time to read the Fusion Developer's Guide, I guess.

  • MenuBar (AS2) component without dropdown menus?

I have used the menubar component several times to make
    dropdown menus from
the main bar .. but I need to make a menubar on a Flash
    header that won't
have any dropdowns .. just the seven links across the bar.
I can't find a way to make this work .. and I can't find any
    information on
using the MenuBar component without having dropdowns that are
    the links.
    Is this even possible?

Thanks. If you do post elsewhere, please copy and paste the
link here, so that others (myself included) can keep an eye on it.
BTW, I was pretty time-crunched last week or so when I
originally posted this, so I used Flash as a fallback. At least
there I know how to position with pixel-perfect accuracy, and
nothing psychotic happens with the behavior. Well, almost nothing.
Flash will always have its own charming "quirks" and "undocumented
features", but at least I can contend with those, for now...
It's a bummer, too, because I was really excited to get this
    project done entirely with CSS.

  • How to customize quick query to search with SQL in contain keyword

I want to build simple query using quick query component. But it will search with SQL equal keyword. How can I customize it to use contain keyword instead. That means, I enter 'sc' to return 'scott'.

Not sure if the technique described here http://tompeez.wordpress.com/2011/08/21/extending-viewcriteria-to-use-sql-contains-4/ can be used for quick query, but you can try ...

  • Dashboard quick query limit component

    Hi All,
I am using quick query limit in a dashboard...
I set it up ok in the ESM file... everything is working as advertised, BUT when I create the runtime version everything from the component disappear... the query panel button in the other frames is missing , the runtime dashboard doesn't start from the query panel even if it's defined in the dashboard properties as the startup frame...
I tried to build the runtime version from the quick query limit sample and I noticed the same behaviour, there is some hidden flags in building the runtime version?
I'm using version 9.3.1.0.0.248 on Vista

  • How to implement Quick Query and Saved Searches in ADF?

    We are using 11gR2 ADF.
The requirement is to enable Quick Search and save the Searches.
In the Oracle ADF documentation, it is mentioned that
    - Create a view with view criteria named.
    - In the .jspx drag and drop the view criteria and Select Quick Query
Upon doing the above, we see that a Search panel is getting created, but with a message 'No Search Fields Added'.
In the named view criteria, Under 'UI Hints' we have set
    -- execution mode as Both
-- Search region mode is Basic
    -- Show Operators in Basic
    Under 'Criteria Definition'
the attributes are added in a group with OR condition.
Thanks for your reply. Oracle ADF developer guide does not help!!
If you have any other documentation that helps in implementing this Quick Query and Saved Search, your help is greatly appreciated.

Set the following on your af:query component
    SaveQueryMode = hidden
    ModeChangeVisible = false
This should work for you ..

  • Class Cast exception when clicking Search Button in Query component

    Hi
We have to implement the Query component in ADF programmatically.. We are using Toplink as the Model layer for ADF.
We followed the Web User Interface Guide for ADF development, Chapter 12 (Using Query Components) for the same.
We already have implemented the following classes:
    1) QueryModel
    2) QueryDescriptor
    3) AttributeDescriptor
    4) ConjuctionCriterion
    5) AttributeCriterion etc.
We are able to see the Search panel in UI with selected fields in Basic as well as Advanced mode.
When we click on Search button, we are getting Class Cast exception.
The stacktrace of the exception is below:

I am working on a project that utilize Oracle Ultra Search that will crawl and tag documents in the database.
The initial code that uses pure JDBC was working fine, but when we switch to get database connection from dataSource, we are getting classCast exception inside Oracle's ultra search. The problems is that the class we get from dataSource.getConnection() returns
"weblogic.jdbc.wrapper.JTSConnection_oracle_jdbc_driver_T4CConnection". But Oracle UltraSearch is not expecting that.
Is there anyway to unwrap the connection that we get from dataSource ? I tried casting to OracleConnection,
assign the connection to "oracle.jdbc.driver.T4CConnection" without any success.
    Any help would be appricated.
ThanksHi Gary. If the code you want to run is running inside WebLogic, such as in a JSP,
then look for our documentation on our JDBC extension 'getVendorConnection()". It
will get you a direct Oracle connection for their mis-declared UltraSearch
classes (they declare they take java.sql.Connection, but they really demand a
concrete thin driver connection. No other Oracle driver will be given a chance).

  • Need Information on af:query component

    Hi,
I need some information on the <af:query> component in JDev 11g.
When using ADF 11g's new component, ADF Query (af:query) whether the default "All Queryable Attributes" or on other newly defined View Criterias:
1     What are the disadvantages of this component, given that the result-set - without filtering - is large (between 1350 and 1700 rows, approximately).
2     Does it fetch all rows from the database, then performs filtering upon user's entered search criteria – i.e., hitting the "search" button?
3     Is there a way to add client-side validation on the search criteria attributes?
4     In general: What is the best practice to implement a Search Form in ADF 11g
Kindly provide your inputs for the same.

check this blog for sample: http://andrejusb-samples.blogspot.com/2009/08/jdevadf-sample-oracle-adf-tuning.html
As an other option, you could have a default view criteria applied and executed to filter to result set if it is applicable for your usecase.
3     Is there a way to add client-side validation on the search criteria attributes?I'm not sure about this though.

  • In af:query component , need to make Match option invisble

    Hi,
i am using af:query component and do not want to show the Match with radio button options (All, Any).
Can anyone suggest how to achieve this.

You use view criteria, as this is what af:query is for. You use 'All queryable Attributes' which is an implicit view criteria.
There is no easy way (I don't know one) to remove the 'Match all/any' radio button other than the way Luc described. In your case you have to build a view criteria like the 'All queryable Attributes' to get to the switch in the UI hint tab of the view criteria.
To do this you create a new criteria and add all attributes you want to one group without specifying and literal or bind variable and use an operator like StartWith for strings and equal for numbers. Then uncheck the 'Show Match all Any' checkbox and use this view criteria for your af:query.

  • Initial execution of a workbook/query runs without ending

    Hi, Experts,
I encountered a very strange behavior of Bex tool. Sometimes, Initial execution of a workbook/query runs without ending at u2018Waiting for reply from BW Serveru2019 state, then I cancel the report and run it again and it would return results within minutes. Itu2019s like it forgot to return results.
The basis team looked at the queries in the database, and said that there were actually a number of different queries being executed by my Bex query, but each individual query runs fairly quickly. The basis person pulled the statements out and ran them directly against the database and they returned result in sub seconds.
    Any thoughts? Possible solution?
    Thanks

  • How can set the timestamp format in query component?

I met 2 problems when I am using timestampTZ on query component.
The first one, in the table, I have a field type is timestampTZ. And I have a query on this field. However, When I open the page, I found the date format is not what I want, can I change the format in the query component? Like from “mm/dd/yyyy” to “dd/mm/yyyy” in the search criteria. For the query component. I used bing variable. The bing variable I set to timestampTZ type.
Another problem is, as in the database, the time has date and time, but in the query component, it only has date, so if I added a end date field, it only show the records before the end date. I think the parameter take the time as 00:00:00. Is there any way to fix this?
    Thanks a lot.

Thanks a lot. I tried, but still not work, I can see the date with time. But I tried to execute the query, it threw exception (with/without date value). Is that because the field in database is timestampTZ?

  • Auto suggest behavior for af:query component LOV fields.

    Hi,
I am new to ADF development and need help on implementing auto suggest behavior to the LOV fields generated by af:query component. For inputList and inputCombo.. fields we can add af:autosuggestbehavior tag to enable this. How do we enable the same for af:query generated LOV fields.
    Regards,
    C.R

Thanks Timo for such a quick response.
JDev version we are using is 11.1.1.6.0
Unfortunately, we have gone too far with the AF:Query and Everything else is working apart from Auto-Suggest on AF:Query. Now will take a lot of time to implement and test. Also, users will have to spend considerable time to test it again.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • af:query component - need help

    hi
I am implemeting a search page wiht <af:query> component with view criteria. (to be specific drag and drop viewCriteria as query panel with table)
what i observe is that when I do "Add fields" at runtime the compnent moves up and up till it hides the panelHeader and the other fields with no access to it.
After i refresh the screen the component comes back to its normal positon but pushes the table component below it down till its barely visible.
This component seems to be very unstable.
Let me know if there is any workaround without making the screen unstable.

when search by work, the search form displayed as firstname, lastname, gender etc.
