Quicktime crashes while showing .mov file in dual screen presenter mode
This is a recent occurance, but often I will connect my computer to show movies and lately no matter what the format, after a few minutes while presenting the movie on a second monitor, quicktime crashes. I have to start it all over again, often 3-5 times while watching one movie. Any ideas how to prevent this or what is happening? Is it possibly my video card? This makes me apprehensive to buy an apple tv with the video crashing.
Powerbook G4 PowerPC 1.5 12" Mac OS X (10.4.8)
No solution, but didn't like it hanging around...sorry.

Quicktime crashes while streaming .mpg files
When attempting to stream a video (located on a server in our network), QuickTime force closes... The videos play fine on the server itself.

I tried updating to 7.7.3, same results.
I tried clicking the legacy codec box just in case, same results. With Toast:

After recent QuickTime updates fcp and QuickTime will not open .mov files captured on my FS-H200. I put this onthe quick time thread and they sent me here.
and NEVER do a software update unless you've got a clone of your startup drive so you can restore your system to it's working state if something goes wrong.

Hi...I have the OS X v10.6.8 but my QuickTime is not playing .mov files. How can I fix this?
Hi...I have the OS X v10.6.8 but my QuickTime is not playing .mov files. How can I fix this?
Depends of the specific kind of file you are trying to play. MOV refers to the file container. Any data compatible with the system used to create the file can be placed in an MOV file. If you don't have the same codecs available on your computer to play back the file or if your version of the QT player does not expect expect the encoded data to be in an MOV file container, then it cannot/will not play the file. Use the Finder Info window, media player Inspector/Information window, or a dedicated utility to determine what compression formats were used to create the MOV file and then install the required codec(s) if available. -

Rescue and Recovery Crashes While Deleting Backup Files
I've seen many threads in regards to Rescue and Recovery crashing while deleting backup files, but no solutions were ever mentioned! I have a T400 (Vista SP2, Intel T9400, 4GB RAM, 300 GB HD) and was quickly running out of disk space. After finding mention of Rescue and Recovery I was able to delete some of the backups but not all. For example I have one from 2008 (18GB) but it won't seem to delete. I let it sit for quite a while (over night) but it still didn't delete. Does anybody have a solution for how to get R&R to delete this files? Or how to delete these files manually? Thanks in advance.
Hi,
in this situation I assume, you are using the GUI for the deletiong of the RnR Backups.
What I always prefer is the rrcmd.exe which you can use with the "delete" whicht so that the backups that you want to will be deleted.

I have quicktime pro and it does NOT have the screen record mode that Quicktime is suppose to have. Can I uninstall it and go back to an older version that would have screen recording? If so, how? Step by step needed. Thank you for your time.
Did you remove Quicktime X?
On a normal install Quicktime 7 is installed in the Utilities folder and Quicktime Pro in the main Applications folder.
You will need to reinstall OS X to get Quicktime X back if you have deleted it.
I notice yor profile says 10.5.8. Quicktime X is only available on 10.6 and above. -
OSX Quicktime crash while editing large mov file
Hi there,
I just upgraded OSX today. I was trying to split the video (4GB mov format) using QuickTime player. It worked fine if I only split the video once. But if I wanted to split the video foor around 10 times, Quicktime just crashed and gave me the following report. Can anyone help me identify the cause of this case? Many thanks!!!

Thunderbolt Bus: MacBook Air, Apple Inc., 23.6I found out, from Apple telephone support, that the reason why I couldn't do anything with the .mov file was because I originally created the file on a different Mac, but more to the point, in a different OS. I created it in Snow Leopard 10.6, using Final Cut Pro X, then copied the file to a Mac running Leopard 10.5. I guess you can't convert a .mov file if it was made in a higher OS. So I took it back to the computer running 10.6 and converted it there, then brought the smaller movie over to the 10.5 Mac, into iTunes, and then made an iPad version.

When I do this with Safe Mode, it doesn't crash. I'm guessing I need to some how make it so Quicktime uses more of the RAM, I got 16 Gigs, or use less CPU. Activity Monitor shows 87% CPU usage just before the crash. This is a one month old iMac, while on my old one from 2008 with just 4 GB RAM, it didn't crash. Thanks to QuickTimeKirk on another post, I got the answer. You use qtl (Quicktime Media LInk) files to point to the real .mov files. Then the qtl file will download when linked to on a web page. After the instant download, Quicktime player will open and grab the stream. Even on a PC! Great!

Quicktime 7.7.6 for windows crashes when opening .MOV files
I am runing QuickTime V7.7.6 Pro on Windows 8.1 enterprise. I have a number of .MOV files I took using my iPhone 5. When I try to open the .MOV file (any .MOV file) QT crashes. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. I unfortunately could not find a Windows QuickTime community so I had to post here. Below is the crash information
Faulting application name: QuickTimePlayer.exe, version: 7.76.80.95, time stamp: 0x542daf0e

P10:This is interesting where I've received video with audio .mov files from a friend with a iPhone 4 to a Droid Maxx. Then saved them to a desktop computer with Windows 7, from the Droid Maxx using a usb cable, and can play them with Windows media player or QuickTime. Normally I can play nothing .mov with Windows media player. They from the iPhone 4 show as Format: AAC, Mono, 44,100 kHz - H.264, 568 x 320 millions
The only thing I would say is administrator permissions which is likely lame with this. I am using MX Player app on the Droid Maxx to handle .mov because Android OS doesn't support .mov
So MX Player may have coverted the .mov or put it to where it could be played in both Windows & QuickTime? Jon any ideas where you are good with these formats? -
QuickTime X on Lion crashes on opening movie files
Hi — am running OS X 10.7.3 on a 2010 MacBook Air, and have discovered that QuickTime (10.1) will not open movie files (tested with .mov and .m4v so far).
The error includes this line:
Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: '-[NSViewController loadView] could not load the "MGPlayerDocumentView" nib.'
And upon trying again I get the message:
The application “QuickTime Player” unexpectedly quit while trying to restore its windows.
Any suggestions on fixing this? The files open fine in iTunes and VLC, but QuickTime crashes every time. In earlier days I'd have reinstalled it, but with the download of Lion that doesn't seem to be an option (no installer files available).Ah well. Resorted to reinstalling Lion from the recovery partition, and that seems to have fixed it.

Quicktime crashed while recording, where's the file now?
Hi all,
Quicktime crashed when I was saving a long speech I had just recorded. I can't find the file anywhere. Does anyone know where the file might be stored so I can attempt to find it and not have to re-record this thing again? I don't see it in users>library>cache>quicktime. Which folder would it be in?
Thanks!Hi Baby Boomer,
A simple spotlight search won't work because the file name wasn't applied to the temp file that was being written as the recording was being made.
The issue is that it wasn't saved, it crashed before saving with a file name. When I stopped the recording and and hit file>save, then the program crashed.
So somewhere, I assume there is a temp file with the recorded data in it. That's the file I'm looking for. I'm guessing that a couple hundred megs of quicktime data doesn't just disappear, even if it's not saved, but is instead tucked away in some cache file waiting to be overwritten. -
HELP!!! Quicktime Crashed and Perminanlty Deleted Files HELP!!!
I was trimming a movie file in quicktime when the application crashed. Upon crashing I saw my file get deleted from my computer. It isn't in my trash bin or anywhere on my computer. I DID NOT DO THIS, why did quicktime delete my file? How can I recover it? Someone please help meeeeee.
This is a video file taken with my camera. I exported it onto my computer.
If you exported the file to your computer, then the exported version of the file should still be on your computer unless, a) you never actually stored it on your computer, b) deleted it, or c) overwrote it by saving a different version to itself. Therefore, the question becomes "How did you 'export' the file to your computer?" and "Which version of QT were you using to trim the file?"
It deleted the original source file is what I'm saying... When I went to trim the video to make it shorter quicktime crashed and erased the Source File, the original and the only copy that I had.
Normally I would say this is impassible unless you deleted the source file manually during the editing process before the crash. The crash should simply lose all edits made before the crash but not affect the source file. Even stting the source file to a zero frame playback doration in QT 7 Pro and then saving the playback pointers would not delete the original file. And, even though your could not play the data with the QT player, the file would still exist and the data would still exist in the file whilch third-party players could still play. The only way I can force this to happen is to open the file in QT 7, copyth the data to temporary memory, delete the original file, begin trimming, and then have QT crash while working on the "temporarily" stored data in the "project" player being edited.
It's not in the trash and file recovery programs aren't finding it either. It has left me very confused and with a very bad image of Quicktime in my mind.
Editing projects are, by their very nature, "nascent" until they are exported or saved. Therefore it would not appear in your trash nor would the source file appear in the trash unless you put it there. Some forms of editing (like QT 7 trims using in/out references) can be written to the source file container which will prevent your accessing the data in the QT player but does not physically remove the data from the file container.
Without knowing your specific workflow and apps used, it is difficult to try and guess what might have happened. -
Quicktime can´t play .mov files
Iphoto doesn´t recognize movies from iphone (.mov files)
When I attach my iphone to import movies I made with my iphone 4 into iphoto, Iphoto tell´s me it can´t read the format (.mov files).
Quicktime cannot play .mov files either. I reinstalles ILife´11, that didn´t help. Importing the files into imovie doesn´t work either, because imovie always crashes. I can´t drag and drop the movies from my iphone via iphoto to my desktop - does anyone know how to do that?
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Been to the Genius Bar, but they couldn´t help.In case anyone has the same problem, this was my solution:
1. install Quicktime 7 from your old snow leopard CD, don´t download from the internet
2. then follow the instructions that Neutronjon gave in https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3211124?start=0&tstart=0, if you have the same error message
I have had this problem for a year now, tried all sorts of things, and this finally worked!

PSE 9 only works with old AIR version on Win 7 x64. Adobe please help.
I'm hoping that Adobe can jump in and help here as there are some real versioning issues with the components that PSE 9 uses. I've made a number of posts in the Adobe AIR forum (while I was figuring this out) and have exchanged with Adobe resources

Hi Experts, We are working on PO 7.4 single stack. We want to trigger BPM process from another BPM process without involving PI. As we have huge data and multiple calls to different BPM process via PI. Any pointers on this would be helpful.

Implementing keyboard control on a window
Hi, I'm currently trying to implement keyboard control for a tetris game I'm attempting to make, but I've done it a rather dodgy way. I've implemented it on a Jpanel instead. What I want to do is, implement the keyboard control on the window, however
