How do I find the jsp code behind an Oracle EBS page
Hello,
I have not worked with Oracle EBS in about 3 years and am somewhat new to JSP. I am trying to figure out how it all works and would like to go from the front end Oracle EBS screen to the source code jsp file.
I was able to find the queries behind the screen by clicking on the about page link. I was aslo able to find plenty of jsp files in the OA_HTML directory on the server but I was not able to line any of them up with an EBS page on the front-end of Oracle apps.
With Oracle forms it seems much simpler when I just easily get the form name from the screen (Help->About Oracle applications) and then just open up the corresponding fmb with the same name.
How do I find this corresponding jsp file?
ThanksCredit cards have security codes on them, either on the back on the signature strip or some cards have it on the front : credit card security code. None of the gift cards that I've bought have had a security code on them

Problem in connecting JSP with Oracle 9i.
Hi,
I am having problem in connecting JSP with Oracle 9i.
I am using windows XP and my JDK version is 1.4. For executing JSP I am using
"jakarta-tomcat-5.5.4-preconfigured". My database name is global.
I have set java_home, j2ee_home, oracle_home, path, classpath as follows:
j2ee_home=c:\sun\appserver
java_home=c:\sun\appserver\jdk
oracle_home=C:\oracle\ora92
path=C:\Sun\AppServer\bin;C:\Sun\AppServer\jdk\bin;C:\oracle\ora92\bin
classpath=C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\j2ee.jar;C:\oracle\ora92\jdbc\lib\ojdbc14.jar;C:\oracle\ora92\jdbc\lib\nls_charse
t12.zip
My code is as follows:
<%@ page language="java" %>
<%@ page import ="java.sql.*"%>
<%
try
DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver());
Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection ("jdbc:oracle:oci8:@global", "scott", "tiger");
catch(SQLException e)
out.println(""+e);
out.println("Connected");
%>
I tried other program:
<%@ page language="java" %>
<%@ page import ="java.sql.*"%>
<%
Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:global","scott","tiger");
out.println("Connected");
%>
I am getting following error:

i'm working with a jsp code which uses oracle as backend i come across
a statement like this
rs2=st2.executeQuery("select name from emp where ecode='"+ecode+"'");
what the + mean in --"+ecode+"
is it related to jsp or oracle,
help me in bebuging the code
That is from your JSP, "ecode" in ecode is a variable in your JSP.

Running Oracle 9i client code against an Oracle 10g install on PC
On Unix I am able to run Oracle 9i client code against an Oracle 10g install by setting ORACLE_HOME to the Oracle 10g install location and then creating a symbolic link (example: ln -fs libclntsh.so.10.1 libclntsh.so.9.0).
On PC (in particular XP SP2) I want to do something similar without using "junctions" or "junction points". Is there a way to set an environment variable or ini file to have my 9i client code point to the right libraries? I keep getting an error saying that my client code will not run due to "orasql9.dll" not being found. The "orasql10.dll" is installed on my machine.
Any assistance would be appreciated.You might want to check metalink doc,
Client / Server / Interoperability Support Between Different Oracle Versions
Doc ID: Note:207303.1
Even your application built on 9i, doesn't mean it will not work with 10g database. From what I can see, running 9i executable under 10g installation to create mixed blood breed will do more harm than good. Not only it's not supported but also the outcome is unpredictable. -
How to handle external tag-libraries in JSPs using Oracle Stellent?
I have already started the execution of JSP engine in Oracle Stellent, and also could run the sample Tomcat web-application and basic JSPs in Oracle UCM. What I need to do, is to customize my JSP to be able to show/hide some content using Oracle Stellent.
I have a JSP, from web application, which is using some some tag-libraries from spring, etc.
+<%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core" prefix="c"%>+
+<%@ taglib uri="http://www.springframework.org/tags/form" prefix="form"%>+
+<%@ taglib uri="http://www.springframework.org/tags" prefix="s"%>+
+<%@ taglib prefix="security"+
uri="http://www.springframework.org/security/tags"%>
+<%@taglib uri="http://www.springframework.org/tags" prefix="s"%>+
+<%@ page import = "idcserver.*" %>+
+<jsp:useBean id="sb" class="idcserver.ServerBean" />+
+<%+
sb.init(request);
....and so on
I have checked in the above file, and when trying to preview in Oracle UCM, I get the following error:

Edited by: 980473 on Jan 8, 2013 2:01 AMHi ,
Check if you have jstil.jar in WEB-INF/lib location , if missing manually add jstl.jar into WEB-INF/lib restart UCM Managed server .
Hope this helps.
Thanks,

Can we wrap the code written in Oracle Forms
Can we wrap the code written in Oracle Forms or in Reports..........
Edited by: user12889416 on 3/01/2011 21:08Usually you simply ship the compiled sources to your customers if you want to hide your code. There's no way to wrap the code within the fmb or rdf files.

Dear all friends,
now I am using Sun Java Web server for serving my JSP's but I have heared that Oracle 8i support JSP .Could you please inform me that whether Oracle 8.1.5. has webserver itself and if it does ,does it support JSP.
any suggestion would be appreciated
AmiraliOracle 8.1.7 (due this summer)will indeed have a web server in the database for running servlets and JSPs. Oracle 8.1.5 and 8.1.6 do not have this.

Data objects and code objects in oracle application
Hi,
can any one please help me out with following question?
1. what are data objects and code objects in oracle apps and why is that difference?
2. How does the objects gets created in Oracle Applications, like during the installation which part is responsible for creating objects and after the installtion later point of time, how the new objects gets created in oracle applications?
3. what are the ways to find out if my 11i application is OATM enabled ?
Thanks in advanceHello,
I managed to find answer for question 1, yet to find answer for 2 and 3.
Answer for question 1 --
Data objects : store and access business data (tables, indexes, sequences, index-organized tables, etc);
Code objects : process data objects but them don't contains business data (functions, procedures, packages, views, synonyms);
Now, here i have a question - under which objects queues are considered ? -
Hi Everyone,
Could you let me know how to compile jsp using Oracle BPM 10gR3 studio.
Thanks in adavance...I use JSPs in my projects since it gives me alot more freedom.
For example, I would like to use JSF tags, or use Javascript libraries to make AJAX calls, and always I want the JSP to have the look and feel of the brand of the company.
There are challenges in using the JSPs however. The documentation for the JSP Tag Library doesn't have good examples, so you might have to figure stuff out on your own.
I don't use WTP, although I've been meaning to install it. I've been using a text editor (notepad++) for the development of my JSPs. -
Passing data from JSP to Oracle Reports
Hi,
We have a requirement to query and display data in JSP pages and when clicked on 'Report' button of the JSP, an Oracle report should be called.
The data which is queried in JSP should be passed to the Oracle report. Is there any way of doing it? This is to avoid re-querying the database again from Oracle Reports.
Environment: jdk1.3, Oracle Application Server 9i, Oracle 9i, Report 6i
Thanks in Advance,
SrinivasYou could have the Applet make a request to the server (via URLConnection).

XML queries... Change the code from using Oracle db into MS SQL
Hi, I am a new begginer in this field. I came accross to an article that focuses in Oracle's XSU approach.
Currently, i am trying to convert the java code from using Oracle db to MSSQL db. The code has shown below:
import javax.naming.*;
import javax.sql.*;
import java.sql.*;
import oracle.xml.sql.query.*;
public class testxml
public static void main(String args[]) throws SQLException, NamingException
String tabName = "emp";
int maxRows = 3;
Context ctx = new InitialContext ();
DataSource ds = (DataSource) ctx.lookup ("MyOra");
Connection conn = ds.getConnection ();
OracleXMLQuery qu = new OracleXMLQuery (
conn, "select EMPNO, ENAME from " + tabName);
qu.setMaxRows (maxRows);
qu.setRowsetTag ("EMPLOYERS");
qu.setRowTag ("PERSON");
String xmlString = qu.getXMLString();
System.out.println (xmlString);
conn.close ();
Currently, i am having difficulties to change the "bold" area that uses Oracle into MS SQL as my current application is using MS SQL as the database.
Please help and need more advices from all of you. Thank YouI resolved this issue myself. For the answer please message me.
