Findings and Recommendations
Finding 1: Virtual Memory Paging
Impact is 2.54 active sessions, 100% of total activity.
Significant virtual memory paging was detected on the host operating system.
Recommendation 1: Host Configuration
Estimated benefit is 2.54 active sessions, 100% of total activity.
Action
Host operating system was experiencing significant paging but no
particular root cause could be detected. Investigate processes that do
not belong to this instance running on the host that are consuming
significant amount of virtual memory. Also consider adding more physical
memory to the host.
Finding 2: Top SQL by DB Time
Impact is 2.47 active sessions, 97.18% of total activity.
SQL statements consuming significant database time were found.
Recommendation 1: SQL Tuning
Estimated benefit is 2.54 active sessions, 100% of total activity.
Action
Run SQL Tuning Advisor on the SQL statement with SQL_ID "9d65avvugb899".

This Query is running 18 hours plz by seeing this ADDM plz sugest what to do i'm highly thanksful to yoy As already mentioned here in the thread you need to check the execution plan of the UPDATE statement. If you're unlucky then the scalar subquery querying JAG_N24_DG0 is potentially executed for each row of GN_FLAT_IN_TABLE. Depending on the execution plan of the subquery this approach might be quite inefficient.
Generic instructions how to generate a meaningful plan output and how to use the {noformat}{{noformat}code{noformat}}{noformat} tag to get it formatted in mono-space font here follow below:
Could you please post an properly formatted explain plan output using DBMS_XPLAN.DISPLAY including the "Predicate Information" section below the plan to provide more details regarding your statement. Please use the {noformat}[{noformat}code{noformat}]{noformat} tag before and {noformat}[{noformat}/code{noformat}]{noformat} tag after or the {noformat}{{noformat}code{noformat}}{noformat} tag before and after to enhance readability of the output provided:
In SQL*Plus:
SET LINESIZE 130
EXPLAIN PLAN FOR <your statement>;
SELECT * FROM TABLE(DBMS_XPLAN.DISPLAY);Note that the package DBMS_XPLAN.DISPLAY is only available from 9i on.
In 9i and above, if the "Predicate Information" section is missing from the DBMS_XPLAN.DISPLAY output but you get instead the message "Plan table is old version" then you need to re-create your plan table using the server side script "$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/utlxplan.sql".
In previous versions you could run the following in SQL*Plus (on the server) instead:
@?/rdbms/admin/utlxplsA different approach in SQL*Plus:
SET AUTOTRACE ON EXPLAIN
<run your statement>;will also show the execution plan.
In order to get a better understanding where your statement spends the time you might want to turn on SQL trace as described here:
When your query takes too long ...
and post the "tkprof" output here, too.

    First off, KONGRACHULATIONS!!!
Next, if you can't even drive to the library, David Pogue's excellent Missing Manual books are also available for either online (Safari service, unrelated to Apple's browser) or computer (PDF) viewing. Just be sure to get the right ones for your Mac's operating system (10.5 = Leopard, 10.6 = Snow Leopard, 10.7 = Lion, exact info available in the About this Mac item on the Apple menu).

    Hello,

this does not seem correct. Where to look for clues about this??
From the two views having delays during the task run:

SC_EventTypeDimension_View is only 9 rows and to do an insert it takes 3 hours!!!
any idea about this which seems to be an issue?

  • Exception Thrown When a Scheduled Task Runs for Many Hours

In the Oracle documentation here (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10391_01/doc.910/e10367/toc.htm#CACGBDAD) it states that the below exception can get thrown when a scheduled task runs for many hours (on OAS) and can be ignored:
Primary Server went down going to get a fresh object elsewhere in the cluster.
    com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIConnectionException: LRU connection
Just want to find out from other users that get this error (If there is any), have you found the scheduled task actually completes, then the error is thrown or what?
I just don't feel comfortable that one of our tasks is completing properly due to this exception occuring and causing the task to stop midway through processing...

    Hi,
I've had trouble with scheduling PowerShell scripts in the past as well. You can try running your script in the SYSTEM context by launching a cmd prompt this way, just to verify that the issue isn't related to the account itself:
    http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum/archive/2010/08/25/150872.aspx
This method does require PSExec, there's a link to the tool in the post if you don't already have it on hand.
You can also start PowerShell as SYSTEM and play around if you need to:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/ben_parker/archive/2010/10/28/how-do-i-run-powershell-exe-command-prompt-as-the-localsystem-account-on-windows-7.aspx?Redirected=true
Not the best answer, but hopefully it helps shed a little light on the issue.
    Good luck.

i have updated my Mac mini to Yosemite but now it has a networking problem after running for several hours . Trying to open a webpage in Safari or chrome doesn't work, the remote site appears to disconnect.  Mail is not downloaded and email already downloaded has no images when I display them.  Interestingly DNS resolution is working nslookup finds the IP but telnet to a web site on port 80 gets an instant disconnect.
THe connection ion is wired into a hub and the ISP connection is fine from the other computers on our home network.
I am now rather perplexed how to fix this without constantly rebooting the Mac which just goes against the grain.

    Hi loseph94,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that issues with your computer running slowly can be frustrating. In this situation I would recommend reading over and using the information located in the attached article to help troubleshoot the issue.

    Thank you.

    Peopletools version ?
    Database type and version ?
Does the db version same on source and target ?
Please, give more details, as much as you can.
Generally, yes, it is not very uncommon to see bad performances after upgrade, just need to configure everything as well, especially on db level (i.e. statistics).

Hello cor-el, thanks for your reply. I changed my settings for downloads to desktop and it has appeared on there. When I double click I am asked which program I want to open file. I click firefox and another box "opening install" says I have chosen to open the file which is an application and do I want to save it. This is the only real option so I press save file. I get a box saying this is an executable file which may contain viruses - do you want to run. I press ok and the final box showing C drive file name and desktop appears stating application not found.
This happens the same whenever I try to install.
To my untrained eye the application is not being recognised as an application and I cannot work out how to get it to do that.
My plugin is still showing as out of date.
Is there anything you could suggest. Thanks for your time.

    Hi, Ravi.
Based on your experience, you may want to start working your way to earning an MCSA for Windows Server 2012 R2. It requires you to pass three exams. The first exam you may want to take on is 70-410 which is on install Windows Server 2012.
Here is the MCSA: Windows Server 2012 certification title description:
    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en-us/mcsa-windows-server-certification.aspx
As you can see, it will require you to pass three exams. Here they are:

Microsoft offers free online training through different web sites. Consider these as a few of the many resources you can use to study for these exams.

By the way - if you are still in school and prefer a more entry-level certification, you can also consider the MTA certification track designed for college students:

  • I am trying to erase all contents on my iphone 4, its been running for 6 hours now, is this normal?

I am trying to erase all contents on my phone, I am trying to get it back to factory settings,  I don't have any jailbreaks or anything like that on my phone, The circle thing has been running for six hours now, is this normal? Before I did that, I tried to do it through itunes, and it would not restore it through there either? Im at a loss?? That took only like 5 min before it says sorry it could not be restored. This is taking forever....

    Hello Stephiworld,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like you are trying to restore the phone to its factory defaults but the process is stalled or the phone is totally unresponsive.
If the phone will respond to the Sleep/Wake button, I would turn it off the normal way, then turn it back on.
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
When it turns back on try the Erase All Content and Settings option again.
If the iPhone is completely unresponsive and will not turn off normally, I would reset the device with this process from the above article:
If your device stops responding, you can reset it by pressing and holding both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • Firefox 5.0.1 update-recommended to update-runs for 24 hours until I stop it because it never downloads-have tried numerous times.

I keep being recommended by a pop-up window to download Firefox 5.0.1 for my MacBook Pro. I have tried numerous times--even letting it run for 24 hours and it still does not complete. Then a day or two later it asks me again. What do I do to get it to download.

If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
    * Firefox 5.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
    * Install the new version that you have downloaded
