QX10 Crashes on Android 4.4
Purchased a QX10 to use with my Nexus 5 running Android 4.4. The PlayMemories app crashes on connect to the device. It appears Sony was using an unpublished NDK API in development of the application, and now the API has eitehr been removed to gone private in some way.
So yeah, PlayMemories app does not work on Android 4.4, which excludes me from using my Nexus 5, and as soon as the updates roll out it will exclude it from working iwth my Note3 and other recent devices. Until a fix is pushed, the camera is worthless to me.

There was a sound.play() crash on Android 2.2 devices which was fixed and the build available at http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/air-sdk-download.html. And, yes minimum version is android 2.3, please see the link http://help.adobe.com/en_US/air/build/WSfffb011ac560372f-5d0f4f25128cc9cd0cb-7ffc.html for more reference.
Also, I request you to share a sample application so that we can reproduce the crash if it is not related to sound.play() and reproducible with the latest AIR SDK.

Application crashes with Android 2.3.3 update
Hi All,
My development phone(Google-Nexus One) recently received the Android 2.3.3 update and although native applications run faster my Air application is failing basic test cases.
Simply scrolling a list with TileLayout and MobileIconItemRenderer causes the application to crash. Error dialog reports the the application process has stopped responding and only option is to force close. Scrolling is very cluncky and not usable on 2.3.3(disregarding the crashing), testing the same build on Android 2.2 is fine.
Has anyone else seen performance/stability issues with Android 2.3.3 update?
Any help is much appreciated,
Cheers,
GregAs I said, I installed a new version of Android in my smartphone, which forced me to reinstall all the applications (including the Adobe AIR), so it's the version 2.7.1.1961.
I checked other applications that depend on Adobe AIR and see that is a common problem with Adobe AIR applications and several people complain about. -
AIR Native Extension Application Crash on Android Emulator when Extension method is invoked
I have developed a Hello World Application using AIR Native Extension on Android Emulator and When i try to run the application its crashes. I was able to run same application sometimes back on Android Emulator on Mac. Right now I am using a Windows machine (as i dont have Mac anymore). I tried running same apk file which was compiled and running on Android emulator on Mac but it failed. Also i tried to recompile entire application from same code base but still it is failing. As far as i know Mac or windows should not play a part but still mentioning it out in the discussion. Also i tried running the application on various Android SDK version but with same results.
Following is logcat logs for Android 4.0.3.

2 Issues : AEI crashes on Android 3.2 + Connection spinner keeps on spinning
Hello.
I've been browsing most of the posts there and some of them were very helpful.
However I'm still facing issues.
I'm on the same wireless network in my company.
I'm running a local server (Tomcat) on my desktop which is accessible on the wifi network. I can access it with Safari or default Android browser on iPad/Galaxy tablets.
I'm also running weinre server on my desktop which is also accessible on the wifi network. I can also access it with Safari or default Android browser on iPad/Galaxy tablets.
I've check if the port 7682 is accessible from the tablets through wifi connection. To do so, i've opened a iOS/Android browser and type {my_ip_adrress:7682} and it showed a blank page proving the port is opened on wifi network (if the port wouldn't be opened, it'd show an error message : Cannot open the page ...)
I've updated the Adobe Edge Inspect on the tablets, and re-install it on Chrome (23.0.1271.97 m).
I'm still facing this issue : The desktop seems to be waiting for a connection...and nothing happens. It seems it cannot find the tablet.
Shall I plug the tablet on USB ? I'm a bit confused. I don't really know what's the problem here.
Same thing is happening on Android3.2 tablet. I can see the wireless network name and a little spinner that keeps on spinning next to it.
Once i try to type the ip of my desktop running server it crashes. Error message is : (French : l'application Edge Inspect (processus com.adobe.shadow.android) a été arrêté de manière innatendue). Meaning it stopped working.
Any help would be greatly appreciate I have been working on this for days.Sorry for the frustration, but I am glad that it sounds like you found a way to solve the issue.
Note that, with Edge Inspect, you should not have to enter any web addresses into the device clients; only into Chrome on your desktop.
Let us know if we can be of any assistance. -
Content Viewer crash on Android 4.0.4
Hello everybody
I have installed Adobe Content Viewer 2.8.0.0.59744 on my tablet, and it crash just in the beginning (black screen and error message) I tried to re-install several times, but same things happens.
When I try oldest versions of Content Viewer (1.8.0.0.23535) I can login, and access to my library, but don´t download the publications (ask for an update)
I´m working on Indesign CS6, desktop viewer v23, technical issues of my tablet:
Storex Ezee Tab 971
System: Android 4.0.4 ICS
Processor: A10 1.2 GHZ
Ram memory: 1G
Anyone with same problems? Some idea of what can I do to fix it?
I´m thinking, maybe a v21, or v20 viewer work on my device, just for see the work until adobe get a new version that woks on Android, but I can´t find Content Viewer 2.5, just 1.8
Thanks a lotI have found that the Aptoide website website does have prevoius versions of the Adobe Content Viewer. There is mention of v21 or v20 of the 'viewer'. What are we talking about here? As far as I am aware the version numbering goes like 1.8...., 2.0... etc.
A little about my experience wit Android devices: I have two Tablet PCs that I have brought in from China. The have the 'Allwinner' CPU and bothe run on Android 4.0 (ICS). There is a school close by that are replacing the regular text books with a digital version that is accessed by Tablet PCs.
I was not ablet to install the Adobe Content Viewer version 2.9 on these machines. I eventually found that ver 2.6 installed and I was able to download some of the books but not all. There were some books that required me to update the Content Viewer which I could boviously not do as it wouldn't install.
What I would like to know from the experts at Adobe is whether they are aware of this incompatibility problem with their Content Viewer and when it may be fixed. I have to assume that I am not the only one with this problem. I also have to assume that the problem can't be too difficult to fix as the problem only occurred in the upgrade from version 2.6 to version 2.7.
Thanks,

I have looked arround but coudln't find information of a similar issue. Anyone knows what may cause this?
ThankyouMaybe you edited the text, but air.appname.AppEntry seems wrong. Normally it would be air.com.companyname.appname.AppEntry.

Our EnergyWatch app crashes on Android with AIR 3.8
Please help!
We have been running an Android app - EnergyWatch - (available on Google Play) for about one year now. Suddenly after customers having received the 3.8 AIR upgrade the app crashes during initialisation. We are using Secure Socket API for communication, and USB debugging tells me that the app seems to crash just before it receives the ON_CONNECT event.
Everything still works fine on iOS (still runnning an older, embedded AIR runtime)
Everything also works fine on Windows with AIR 3.8 installed.
I've tried two different builds:
Flash Prof. CS 5.5, with AIR 2.6 (same build environment as the current version on Google Play)
Flash Prof. CS 6, with AIR 3.4.
Exactly the same behaviour on both builds.
I really don't know what to do.
1. Are there any changes made to the Secure Socket API, especially on Android?
2. Could we recommend our users to downgrade the AIR runtime? If possible, where can we find the previous runtime version?
Tomas Öquist
Perific Technologies AB, Stockholm, SwedenHI, Tomas
may i give you an advise?
If you really want your app run stable . PLZ package with "captive runtime" .
In my experience. Adobe guys will change API Behavior ,change API ,change everything random except themself . Do you remember the ShareObject behavior changed at AIR3.5.
since they cann't be trusted , you should always embeded AIR runtime . for your users, for yourself ,especially for adobe .
For all of AS3 developer ,God ,please bless us.

How to investigate an AIR crash on android
I have a chat app in AIR on Android, and it keeps crashing with no warning. AIR Trace messages does not get printed, and I don't get any error while debugging in Flash Builder on device. So, I decided to use adb logcat while debugging, and I have got the following part that I don't understand. I suspect that those numbers can give me some useful info. How can we translate them into something meaningful?
I am using Sony Tablet S. Crash happens usually when a chat has finished and I have done disposing resources (not during disposing, after disposing)
Somewhere in the logcat:
E/NvAudioALSAStreamOut( 102): write: failed to snd_pcm_writei, -32, Broken pipe
and in some other place:

Guardian Newspaper mobile site crashes Firefox Android Beta
For several weeks I have noticed that if I access pages on the mobile website for the Guardian Newspaper in the UK the page will load then after a few seconds the browser will close. This happens almost all the time unless I keep scrolling on the page.
Typical page is http://gu.com/p/448tz/stw I have Firefox for Android Beta 35.0 running on an HTC One phone.As it happens, for a different reason I completely re-set the mobile phone and reinstalled all apps from scratch including Firefox 35.0. The phone I have does not have a removable battery but it is turned off completely everyday. This is a continuing problem over several weeks. Does not affect every page at gu.com but does affect most and only from this site.
I pass the information on for information. I will uninstall Firefox and switch to Chrome to see if I get the same issue. Maybe Chrome will be better on an Android device. -

This is a cross post from http://forums.adobe.com/message/4993660/ We didn't get an answer there and this issue, and similar discrepencies between what the IDE can compile and what will run on a device, have been costing us man days in work.
We recently had a problem where when compiling using FB and debugging on devices works fine. But when we built the app using Ant, it was crashing on Android devices. After debugging that, we found that Number.floor was not a function.
I cannot find any documentaiton that says Number.floor was ever a function in ActionScript/Flex/AIR.
So why does Flash Builder seem to think it's valid, let us compile it, and even run it on the device?! Is there some 'even more strict' compiler option I need to check?Great! Thanks for that. There's more too. Like this... Looks and works great in FB, but dies on the command line. What's going on here?
class CallbackInfo extends Object
public var requestID:int;
public var callback:Function;
public var userData:Object;
package framework
class Moo extends Object
Produces this output over the command line:
[mxmlc] Loading configuration file /Flex_4.6.0_Air_3.5/frameworks/airmobile-config.xml
[mxmlc] Loading configuration file /client/config_dev.xml
[mxmlc] /client/src/framework/EASPProxy.as(27): col: 1 Error: Syntax error: package is unexpected.

Split PDF into several new files
I have a .pdf file that I'd like to turn into three separate .pdf files. I know I can do this through screen capture, but the image isn't as sharp as the original text. How can I create new .pdfs from portions of the original one?
